so not only were you somehow bestowed with the knowledge of how paths were intended to be played, but this knowledge also revealed to you that playing with friends was unintended
seems legit
I want a dungeon that’s not too long, but is still engaging, challenging, with interesting new mechanics and enemy design, as well as an interesting story. It’d also be nice if it had a meaningful reward and achievements.
Also, I’d want it to not have any “skippable” parts (but also no meaningless trash mob armies) and “stackable” fights, to keep things interesting (and kitten off certain people).I’m asking for a bit too much, I’d say
So what, people will be forced to spread out and range bosses? Is that somehow more interesting than the party grouping up and meleeing together?
I play those nearly entirely in the way they are intended to notice anything wrong (I even never play Seer path at all).
What does this even mean?
Except you can use any gear stat you want, not just berserker.
check brazil’s youtube, he has a part near the end of his how to solo p2 up to lupicus video on how to path them so you dont have to fight them
Except you are focusing on DPS all the time as (for example) a tank because you’re focusing on maximising your party’s damage output by holding aggro in trinity games and then dropping off as much defensive gear as possible yourself so that you can hold aggro and do a little more damage yourself. The whole focus in games is DPS and maximising it.
1. you don’t understand the combat in this game
2. you dislike the combat because you’re just mad your class doesn’t work so you call it bad and inefficient – the fact of the matter is however – you simply don’t likei t. it’s not bad, it’s not poorly designed, it’s not shallow – YOU DON’T LIKE ITso stop hiding behind the veil of encounters supposedly being badly designed, you simply just don’t like it and are trying to come up with justifications in your head.
I don’t really understand this response, you’re not really countering any of my arguments. Nor are you addressing anything I said.
It’s pretty hard to deny that each class has strength’s and weaknesses. And it’s also hard to deny that each class’ strength is not equally important in encounters. Some “strengths” are even rendered completely useless. So obviously that means there’s not a level playing field in PVE.
Is it really that strange that certain classes are highly desired for dungeons (guardians, warriors, mesmers) when we know that their strengths are more important in dungeons than the strengths of other classes?
Cleave, DPS, stability, party wide boons, reflection. These are the “strengths” that people ask for a lot in groups, because it fits with the DPS centered approach of the game’s combat. And these are all mechanics spread unequally across specific classes, not equally among all classes. That is a problem.
It’s not a problem otherwise classes would just be a homogenous blob and we might as well just have one class called “fighter” which does everything.
fights aren’t negated by stacking in a corner.
here is the issue:
1. you don’t understand the combat in this game
2. you dislike the combat because you’re just mad your class doesn’t work so you call it bad and inefficient – the fact of the matter is however – you simply don’t likei t. it’s not bad, it’s not poorly designed, it’s not shallow – YOU DON’T LIKE IT
so stop hiding behind the veil of encounters supposedly being badly designed, you simply just don’t like it and are trying to come up with justifications in your head.
lol, theorycraft? it literally took me 2 seconds of looking at the trait to figure out that build
most people dont switch weapons in dungeons so they wont be shield blocking
its not entirely uncommon that ive run the skip and soloed magecrusher because nobody else was able to do it
I think most MMO gamers understand GW2 is pretty much a clusterkitten of spamming skills with as little coordination as possible and still be able to get the “job” in decent timing. This game is a boring DPS race no matter what, with a meta it’s just a boring fast DPS race. I don’t think many people care about this stupid tournament that proves nothing other than I have gud muscle memory.
I agree, you should get a team together and each bag yourselves 150g and 2000 gems since gw2 pve is just faceroll ^^
Yes, because winning the tournament proves that GW2 is a boring DPS race. Having the tournament in the first place is what proves GW2 is a boring DPS race. Keep thinking you’re pro for playing the meta, maybe some day it’ll be true.
so… its easy but you dont want to bag yourself a free 150g and 2000 gems because … well, what reason?
what kind of person turns down free money?
Stacking and LoSing are two separate things – stacking is something you should almost always do (if you are interested in clearing a dungeon efficiently) – LoSing is something entirely dependent on the situation – sometimes it’s completely pointless, other times it’s worth doing.
I find it strange you think you know how ANet intended a dungeon to be performed though, because you dislike something (stacking) does not mean it’s not intended.
ascended leggins
Fractals currently is the closest to having a PVT pug “meta” and you still get berserker LFGs for 49/50s.
You’re never going to have a situation where the majority are running PVT/knights and people actually ask for that stat combination once the content has been done a billion times.
What has happened is that people crying about berserker have their little fix and then they’ll start crying about your PVT gear a day later.
It’s almost as if the guardian was missing the capped out might the warrior has yet still got a fast time
So how does that equal guardians having more dps when roaming solo? Esp vs enemies without projectile?
leap of faith > whirling wrath > dead in <2 seconds
warrior : hundred blades > dead in 3.5 seconds
guardian wins
p1 has easy fights and punishing skips
p2 has easy fights and punishing skips
p3 has punishing fights and punishing skips
p4 has easy fights and easy-ish skips
p1 is probably the safest to pick – it’s not like p2 where theres basically three points between belka and abomination where you can just be insta-killed (spiders, deadeye before tunnel, deadeye after tunnel), p1 has a rough skip to entities but you actually have room for error
go back to failing simin lilith
>:D
hoelbrak is fine

stop h8in on starfish yo
considering lilith likes braham chest with toxic shoulders
i may have to question her fashion advice

Haha I love this OP already! This is what causes you to flip?!
(… and who runs ac p2 anyway?)
our guild since p3 has that stuuuuuuuuuupid time gate and p2 is faceroll anyway
if you dont want to shell out on strength runes i think omnomberry cream is the boon duration food
but yeah, if you want PS to work you need something like berserker since it’s so reliant on might on-crit procs from forceful greatsword, which you’ll be getting less of in valkyrie
the trouble with PS too is that its a support build – so you want to be taking FGJ and double banner but you need precision which basically makes signet of fury crucial – so you might even just want to drop FGJ (despite losing the fury) since otherwise you won’t be buffing your party as hard
thieves and warriors are faster than guards fo sure but if u play with meditations and 1handsword + gs you got 2 ports + 1 leap . in addition to that u can use traveller runes and in the end ur speed isnt that bad^^ (and your damage is higher than with war)
warrior has higher damage. it’s not even close. Guard has the disgusting amount of free sustain and boons.
Are you serious? :S Please visit the Speedrun Threads in this forum… warrior is just a banner carrier but thats not the topic here
2nd Fastest guard soloing lupi. 5:18. He relied on perfect reflects to do 1/3 to 1/2 oh lupi’s hp bar to get anywhere close to that fast. He also pushed him to wall.
A war solo that doesn’t use the wall in any phase so it shortened his time by a minimum of 10s. He did it in 4:50. That’s only his damage, no reflecting the projectiles to double his dps for free.
Guard record 4:24. He self admits to “heavy abusing of reflections”
War record 4:18. Only his own damage to bring down Lupi’s hp bar. He used the wall
Post patch for same war 4:29 and he claims it wasn’t that good.
Warrior has higher dps. If you count abusing reflects vs bosses that spam projectiles, then guard has comparable dps. Guards are a favorite in speed runs because their aiges means you spend time attacking instead of dodging. They also have said reflections for abusing boss mechanics and making it easier for other party members to continue dpsing.
PS. Sorry if this gets posted multiple times. Forum kept crashing and so I tried to resubmit this a few times only to have it keep crashing.
It’s almost as if the guardian was missing the capped out might the warrior has yet still got a fast time
God kitten
$!/##$$
@$!!I hate flight delays because people are freaking inept! Did general discussion non skip stack kittens get a job directing my god kitten plane today?! GODCAT THEM
should have watched my stream whilew aiting
You mean with man mode full melee, allthough her patched poisn fields, I guess?
I already defeated her , for sure not 100% melee. I played with GS/ Longbow to get out of her poisn fields. I don’t enjoy to make content artificially hard, so I think I wouldn’t enjoy to beat the spider, only because I stayed melee 100%
In Gw1 for example I enjoied to solo FoW fullrun as ranger. I just miss something simillar to that in Gw2.@maha
I only have a warrior at 80 ,sorry for that. @ Belka I could hide aswell behind the pillars instead of running ooc wouldn’t require more “skill”.
And because I did lupicus solo the first time I didn’t know how to push him infront of the wall.
“I don’t enjoy making content artificially hard, that’s why I soloed a boss/dungeon”.
If you don’t like it … don’t do it.
Or how about we don’t go trinity-lite and let people play exactly how they want? Why are people so insistent on imposing restrictions on classes? Do you not enjoy freedom? Do you not enjoy the fact that you can go balls deep min-max or play a completely atrocious, random build and yet still clear content?
It’s not imposing restrictions, it’s giving additional abilities to excel in.
Also I did not see anybody here ask for the holy trinity.
Of course it’s imposing restrictions. “guardians can tank but warriors suck at conditions” is restrictions. We don’t need that.
plays on easy class
bugs a boss
complains game is easy
lol
lupi in or out of wall?

m8 i need to actually set up my stream to look decent
quit DnT she says
never
i play how i want
stop the stream, do brie first try
G G
or i can stream complete cancer where i die over and over again
:D
the thing with the warden projectile absorption is they still do it like a second after they stop spinning – so you can take advantage of that.
i use 10/x/x/20/x for alphard and thats about it lol
If you would actually leave faceroll dungeons like AC for five minutes and actually do some of the more challenging ones you’d realise that there’s more depth to the combat. Try stacking and smashing keys against the true destroyer of worlds – the HOTW story final boss and see how long you last before you eat the floor.
joins hardcore dungeon guild
goes to wvw and farms bads
lol
love it – I’m doing condi Lupicus recordings, get a kill, ask for people on lfg to do the rest for me (way too lazy to solo alphard, brie and sell on top of that, uguuuuuu) – so I lfg a group and nobody runs to the alphard wp despite me asking. then one guy does it. one guy leaves for some reason and then some dude asks if we can sell the 5th slot.
no good sir, I am not selling a 5th slot and sharing gold with three leechers, if I wanted to sell I would have soloed. “every little counts” he says. no, idgaf about getting 2g, and if you put that lfg up for a sell I will literally kill the instance.
jesus christ it’s like everyone in this game is gold-driven ¬_¬
NO FUN ALLOWED 4 ELES 1 GUARDIAN OR KICK
Part of the ways they are balanced against ignoring Protection, weakness, and armor is because they don’t benefit from any multipliers either.
Hence why I said PvE balancing. In good parties it’s not unreasonable for the group to be doing around 60,000 damage per second – but when I’ve been playing with it, my condition warrior with basically maxed out might, maxed out bleeds, burning, 5 torment + autoattacks is dealing around 6,500 damage per second. This is with nobody else applying their own conditions, just me. Go in to a group and that drops even lower. Direct damage players can deal between 10,000 and 14,000 damage per second consistently (each) and it goes even higher in bursty fights since you just unload your burst and the fight ends, making your DPS for that fight higher than your spreadsheet damage since you’re not just doing a sustained rotation for a prolonged period of time.
i’ve bumped in to quite a few Ren when pugging arah actually – literally every single one of them was pretty solid (maybe one exception …. though again, poor recollection), i’m surprised you dont all just get together and do guild runs ;p
nobody has yet to say anything to me when I take my sw/sw + lb condi warrior with condi oil and food either, which surprises me considering all of the “I was kicked for not wearing berserker” posts on the forum
I just had a pug without any eles try to LOS-stack on Shoggroth.
I guess that’s the other side of the “I won’t stack cause it breaks my immersion” spectrum, the “stack every boss even when there’s no point” guys.
I guess it’s time to bust out my wraithlord stacking screenshots:

Bro, I’ve been specifically hoping to run into you lol! I did my trial for Ren and you were there, and I didn’t do so well, so I’ve been hoping to show you that I don’t suck lol!
Anyway, yeah, that was a pretty spectacular Jotun fail lol
trial….
…it was arah p1 right? i remember rayleigh taking me along for a trial one time quite a while ago but i have no recollection of how it actually went at all
Something I was just wondering (and this would have to be a PvE-only thing since conditions are fine in PvP) – would it be possible to make condition scale with vulnerability or damage modifiers? Say for example if you have 1,800 condition damage and you have two 10% modifiers, you would then have 1800 * 1.1 * 1.1 condition damage (2,178). It would make conditions work slightly better in group settings (though still pretty suboptimal) – I’m just not sure how feasible it would even be from a technical or a balance standpoint.
im pretty sure a pug warrior can stick on phalanx strength and press 2 off of cooldown on gs
might stacking isnt that hard
i never bump in to anyone
