For the Devs.. i’m curious…
There is a lot of post everywhere now about this, and we want to avoid the wave of banned accounts again :-)
Is not an exploit, is not a MOD or something like that. The bug is well known.
(edited by marianitten.1247)
So, I’m well aware of and support the idea behind automatic down leveling. You definitely do not want to be able to take a top level character into low level zones and totally dominate.
For me, though, I find that whenever I go to lower level areas, it is far more difficult for me than the level 80 areas. This seems ridiculous.
I can hold my own in the level 80 areas with very little difficulty, even taking on multiple mobs. Like 3-5 at a time.
When I go to lower level areas, I find at times I am easily killed by 2 mobs, if not one. In other lower level areas, it’s not so bad.
This seems very out of balance for me as well as inconsistent. It seems like the downlevling is not really taking into account all of the buffs/stats I have on my weapons/armor or something or certain enemies just hit me as if I don’t have armor at all. Something isn’t right.
Am I the only one that notices this?
It’s weird. I rule in low level zones. I can take 3 or 4 veterans at the same time. And killed some champions also.
The account ideas are great, except the last one. There is no reason unless you buy or sell characters/accounts (which is against the ToS I assume), to transfer characters between accounts.
All of the PvE ideas except the mobile crafting station, homepoint and traits are just too much.
There is a reason why waypoints are contested. There is a reason why you get deleveled and mobs are attracted to you while skipping through the terrain. There is a reason why node locations switch around once per week and so on. The ideas only makes me think one thing, you are a person that wants a super quick and easy time gathering with little effort. Traveller Stone as you mentioned would be a pointless item, it would be more rewarding to just buy gems for real money and sell them for gold to use as travel money. Or if you were to buy it for gold gems you might aswell spend that gold on WPs in the first place.
Thanks for the feedback! I didn’t think about the selling characters issue before…
The others things, idk. I don’t want “super easy” stuff, i’m fine how the things work right now(including DR). But i consider that they are non “critical” items that people would pay for.. and that is good for the game :-)
In the real world, if you transform into a rabbit, things are going to want to attack you. If this was added, I would want this to cost some good money.
Ok.. so maybe.. a shadow form travel? :P
This is fake.
The underwear and skin are the very base of the model, there is nothing under the underwear, if it were to ‘glitch-off’, you would see clear through the character in those parts where the underwear was missing, rather than seeing skin tones.
Actually, someone could have done this on purpose, but that seems unlikely. Either way, there’s no way this is a modeling glitch, 3d models don’t work that way.
Is not fake… there is a way to make your character naked (only from the backside). This have been reported but for now.. is true :-)
Is not a hack. Is a well known bug.
Accounts:
- Appearance change.
- More Faces/Body shapes(There is a lot in the game, just make them available).
- Name change.
- More dances.
- Character account change/move.
Only PvE:
- Travel form potion. Transform you into an animal during a period of time. You can go everywhere without getting agrro from mobs.
- Traveller stone: Free transport to any waypoint during a period of time.
- Warrior Traveller stone: 1 use. Lets you tranport to any contested waypoint.
- World Event Finder: Indicates you wich world events are happening in the world.
- Mobile crafting station.
- Make home waypoint. Traveling to that waypoint, would cost you half/nothing. When you die, going there is free.
- Gathering stone: 1 use. Display on map all the gathering nodes available.
- Add slot for traits. Dual/Triple spec.
Suggestions? Please help to improve this list :-)

Not much besides trying to bait flame posts on these forums
Is not that.. is just a lot of post seems to be…. Apocalyptic. Just trying to show you my point of view about “this issues”.
I’m level 80, almost full exotic.
I’ve started the 100% world completion journey. Running from place to place. Farming a lot of mats without hiting de DR system. Getting a lot of karma just completing events.
This is the list of problems i have:
- Low levels zones have a lot of players doing things(i’m from Sorrow’s Furnace). I read in other post that these zones are empty.
- I kill enemies with 3 or 4 hits. The difference is huge than when i was lvl 5-10. I read a lot of post saying that downscaling makes the game “not fun” because you are not overpowered in lowlevel zones.
- Farming: I got a lot of karma, and a lot of crafting materials, without problems. I leveled two skills (armorsmith and jewelcrafting) just with the mats i got…. Tons of them!
- Gear: I use the full magic find set. I found several lvl 77+ yellow gear in low level zones. Then salvaged it obtaining a lot of Glob of Ectoplasm. Is that a reward?
Yes, there is a lot of bugged events/skills but come on… this is going to be fixed soon.
What i’m doing wrong?
(edited by marianitten.1247)
That doesn’t help in any way. You are thinking the bots like if they were persons. Is not about the reward. They won’t sleep. They won’t Stop. They will be doing exact the same task for hours, for days, they are going to receibe more than you anyways. Any system that cut out rewars ONLY PUNISH REAL PLAYERS, NOT BOTS.
But it’s simple already. Just put one dedicated player, who can’t teleport to any part of the map. If someone report a bot, they go there i see it with her/his own eyes. Blocked. Easy.. see?
Not sure who is your reply for but if it is for me… well, you didn’t read what I said. There’s is NO reduction on reward unless you are not actively playing the game. Even then, it will take over 30 mins of unattended play time for my suggestion to trigger. So how is cutting the rewards form people that are afk for over 30 mins PUNISHING REAL PLAYERS?
Bots are programable steps… You understand that your system would be fixed just adding one click in the left of screen every several seconds.. right?
hey that’s what I said :/
I answered OP :P not you.. you are correct
I mean, if I complete the 50% of the World Map with one characted, and then complete the other 50% of the map with another.
Does that count as the World Completion Achievement?

Exp
- Explorable mode – the more difficult version of a dungeon that is unlocked after completing story mode, and can be run for tokens which are then turned in for unique weapons/armor.
- Experienced – typically means ‘having completed this content before,’ thus knowing what to do and how to do it quickly.
It gets pretty confusing when people spam for groups in map chat but they aren’t clear about which ‘exp’ they mean!
Wow.. didn’t know the lastone.. is like.. like … asking for GS! (gearscore)
I know that fix the F key issue is a big deal.
Just disable the Chats of any NPC in combat.
I think that is much easier :-D
For example, the game should have a dungeon match making system. I understand the idea behind forcing people to spam chat with LFG, but other very successful games have learned that the better system is a que system that puts groups together. Why go back to an antiquated system?
LFG a la WoW. No.:
* No instant teleport.
* No instant group.
But something that not implies staying in one zone, spamming LFG for an hour.
Bag space is too limited. There is no good reason for this. Maybe you are forcing people to learn how to salvage by giving them no bag space, but this is ridiculous. Bigger bags would make the game less frustrating and better.
I think is ok. This game have the " deposit collectibles" making thinkg a lot easier than other games.. besides, you can sell any item in the BLTC from everywhere ;-) Do you want more than that?
Armor is too bland for too long. Unless you buy the skins, the armor looks blasé. This wouldn’t be so bad, except with level adjustments your character never feels like an epic hero. He or she feels more like a simple cog in the machine. So, with bland armor and an Everyman feel, you neither feel nor look awesome. That really is an issue.
It’s the whole idea of the game :-) Another mmo: Better stats. Here: best goodlooking.
Added some more…
My necro sometimes yeld “Mi minion”.. and other times “They die like flyes.”..

LED Head is dead wrong on this issue. What he has said has shown me a distinct lack of awareness on the issue. (not his most recent comment)
Simply announcing you are looking for people while on your way to the dungeon and expecting a group by the time you get there, isn’t a real solution. The reality is you warp directly to the waypoint next to the dungeon entrance. /Map chat reaches the whole zone. Usually that zone is far below the level range of the dungeon, meaning a large portion of the small population you advertise to isn’t even able to accept.
Showing up to a Dungeon and having nobody be there is quite common. Waiting around for an hour is common. These issues go under reported because the player simply logs off or leaves, and doesn’t actually get to go to the dungeon. This game has a very high failure rate for getting people into dungeons.
Some times you get lucky and find people without waiting so long.
The LFG Tool only works in the area you are in. It doesn’t cross to other overflows or world zones. So in order to advertise anything remotely approaching a sizable group of people requires you travel between Lions Arch and the dungeon, spending money each time, constantly spamming LFG, and portal jumping in Lions Arch between capital cities. It also means staying in the overflow map, since that’s where new people will appear.
The LFG Tool when/if you actually see another person using it, doesn’t mention what they are grouping for, or what build/strategy the person is using. So even if it was used commonly you would literally have to message everyone on the list to find out what they wanted. It also doesn’t show the size of the person’s group.
Another Issue: WOW Group Finder.
I hated it when they came out with that, because I didn’t like auto teleporting. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about it too. People complain it makes people not talk to each other, because grouping is too easy.
Here’s the thing… Guild Wars 2 does this. It has streamlined this.
Every time you participate in a dynamic event, people sort of stream in and out without talking. Even worse than WoW. You say Hi, and people don’t even reply. So remember this when someone complains about WoW’s group finder. Remember this when you’re there alone at the dungeon entrance waiting for a group.
Totally agree. The people against a good grouping tool makes no sense.
If they wan’t to group with friends/guildies or another “LFG chat Lover” they can.
But a game that is against grind, against wasting time, Against farming, and most important: In favor of enjoying the entire World, and being “social” the lack of that tool is a big failure. I need to stay in one zone, spaming the same message over and over again.

Hardmode? Try a Necromancer with a FleshGolem. That little kitten pull everything, but when you are in trouble do nothing.
I think moderators started to being “intolerant” about this kind of posts.
I’m worried because they seems to be very active closing threads, or listening to “off-topic” threads than giving news about the fixed about the ridiculous DR.
Anyway, is their forums, their rules.
because metacritic scores mean something right? ask any serious reviewer they all agree that metacritic is a load of crap and always has been. I am not saying that GW2 is bad, but certainly not game of the year… are plenty of other games are far better…
1: Mass Effect 3 has better voice acting, story, and game play and is far more accessable
2: DCUO has better combat system, story and voice acting and is FREE! to try
3: Torchlight 2 has less resources,/funds, and is far more affordable and argueablly more additcing.
GW2 may well rank as on of the top mmos but game of the year? i dont think so…
^ Pretty much this. But like someone else said, “there hasn’t been a mmo winning”. Why would GW2 all of a sudden win it? WoW Vanilla and BC blow GW2 out of the water easily and never won Game of the Year. But you ask this question on the fans forums of course they will say GW2.
Nobody says that means “something”. Metacritic is an average of reviews of “popular” sites. The same sites that give the award of “GOTY” .
GOTY is just an award, i’m not saying that GW2 deserves the GOTY or not.
WoW: The dark side
Kittens: The most horrible word in the world.
GRIND: Fun for some.
FUN: The thing you are forced to receibe in this game. if not, is your fault, go back to WoW, you should research more before buying.
Want: Forced to. Example: “We just don’t want players to grind in Guild Wars 2” Means: “We force player to do another things because we say what is fun and what isn;t”.
is a bit obvious to see that you have a negative idea about this game..
Make it easy, you know all the stuff this game have. tell us why not innovate

So Lupicus is just the fist boss? xD Holy kittens!
But appeared after 2 hours of full trash! and there was a lot of “champions” giving chest with cool mechanics before. I thought that they were bosses also :-S
(the giant with the dart guns and some Azura we kill)Yeah the Arah Dungeon takes about 2-5hours to complete. Depending on your team. Yes Lupicus is only the midway boss. After Lupicus, a whole new path opens up depending on which path you chose. At the end you will find out a bit more information about the Lores of Tyria, which may be interesting to some. At the same time you will be rewarded for finding the lost secrets hidden in Arah.
There is 2-3 more boss events after Lupicus btw so…I would assume in total there is…7-9 boss events in 1 full Arah dungeon? Including puzzles etc. Might be more, not sure havnt counted.
Wow thanks for the info.. now i’m going to cry a little bit

1st, excuse my english.
So, yesterday i was in a pug doing Arah Explorable. It’s was incredible fun, ALL of it.
Discovering things and try to figure it how we need to proceed (without checking youtube) was amazing.
We did the Yissa path. It was relative easy till the last boss. Was impossible for us, so, after 10 tries, we give up, and leave. Here my questions:
- At the end, I ended with a balance of -20 Silver(i did’t die a lot, only with last boss). The money reward, is going to be fixed in some way?
- I got 0 tokens in the dungeons. Only the last boss give them? Is that going to change? Because… we spend about 2 hours doing the dungeons. It’s was a lot of fun, but, 0 tokens?
- The loot, in all the dungeon i got only Blues… not even a yellow/green. Is that the DR system? Is that going to be fixed?
Many thanks! and sorry if this questions were answered a lot before.
well if the dead enemies stayed on the ground, navigating those areas would be worse, especially if we could not clip through them, or jump over the pile of bodies left by the last DE.
Just make them not clipables (is that a word?) Is something 100% aesthetic. Let them dissapear, but slowly.
If we have 20+ dead body everywhere, is ok, make them dissapear.

See? Now this post is more useful.
And thanks for giving me tips abouts writing.. i’m a little bit wiser now
I mean.. is a CPU-bound feature right? If someone have a low end pc, with the

But if i have a good machine, there is no memory and processing issues.. why not ?

I already know there are many posts about these two subjects. Rather than bump two individual threads, I feel combining the two into one was a better choice. I have read the forum rules and understand them.
Also take your time when you’re posting. Your typos are atrocious and nobody is going anywhere.
My “typos” are just problems of someone who doesn’t speak native english trying to write.. fast.
Sorry about that.
But anyway, this thread doesn’t add nothing constructive about that issues… why you don’t explain more about this instead of correcting people grammar?

It would be could a mount system a la Skyrim.
Something like, stables, outside the mayor cities.
You buy it (another gold silk) and you can use it… If something hit you… instant umount. They fight, but They die.
Give them some pretty bad IA(copy/paste flesh golem for example).
When you use a waypont far away(if still alive) the mount will be waiting outside the neares stable :-)
I shouldn't be punished for forgetting to res b4 logging out of WvW

That is your goal: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/2/2b/Account_Medals.jpg/180px-Account_Medals.jpg
Did you complete it ?
(edited by marianitten.1247)
Why? That is very anticlimatic… They need some cool animation or something more than.. just “pop” and gone.
1) Risens and fire elementals: Convert to ashes
2) Animals and Humanoids: Putrid… bones…
3) Ghosts: Slowly vanish?
4) Ice elementals: Just melt or transform in steam
5) Robots: Explode!
Excuse my english
(edited by marianitten.1247)
Yesterday i did Arah for the very first time.. was amazing(except final boss of course).
But fighting dragons in a ship.. pretty cool.
The cost to teleport out of one of the four major cities should also be based upon the closest waypoint to the destination within that city, since traveling to waypoints within a city is free, but I guess that’s probably just being nitpicky, since the difference is so small.
Actually, I thought of this just now: If they implemented the idea of making travel to cities free, then the cost to travel anywhere else should be based on the cost from the closest city, by extension of similar logic. Of course, then everything just becomes super-convoluted, so why not just make travel free like it was in the first game? : D
So obviously the real issue is being able to go to Lion’s Arch from the Mists. They should take that out…except that’s probably the best way to get unstuck if you should be unfortunate enough to get stuck in terrain somewhere and not have enough money to use a waypoint.
In summary, I don’t know. Whatever.
The thing is travelling to the cities is actually free. But takes “anoying” time.
Loading Screen->Mist->Loading Screen->Lion’s arch->Loading Screen->Loading screen->Waypoint the portal zone->Loading Screen->Take portal to the city->Loading Screen->The city.

Dodging, Fast Emotes and better "No-holy-trinity" group work.

Thanks for the answer!
I don`t understand your cooldown idea on the dodge. The dodge allready has a cooldown and you only get two of them. You still have to wait to regen stamina to do it again.
Yeah, but for me that Cooldown is too much, if you “wasted” stamina doing two dodges in a row, that let you in a very complicated sittuation.
Let’s say that D is Dodge, and _ is time:
Now: DD_______D_______D_______D
My idea: D____D____D____D____D____D____D
This make Dodge more useful, but forces you to think when you need to use it…
You really don`t need emotes either. If people see you taking fire or too much attention they can mouse over you and see your health and know if you need help. Since this is more of an online action game then an mmo, everyone has ways to make surviving better. You just need to survive long enough until the mob decides to go after someone else or it`s cc`d. You would be suprised hiow much damage you can avoid just by running in a circle if you aren`t getting ranged or snared.
Yes, but there is no trinity. It’s all about Support/Control. And there is no way to know if my group is having trouble or not.
How do i know if they already use all theirs CC spells?
How do i know if they have theirs healing spells in cooldown?
health and know if you need help. Since this is more of an online action game then an mmo,
Exactly, but take Diablo 3 for example. There, you cand make that almost every attack heals you. There is no “Healing Spell” .. is all About HP Regen/Skill that gives you HP.
Here, is all about your “Healing speel”. Yes, you can make that some skill gives you health… but is meaningless.
