I’m not big fan of jumping puzles but it’s kinda ok. On the other hand, I would rather see all this effort put into improving/enchancing/adding stuff to PvP.
This was probably mostly Josh Foreman’s doing and possibly some of the other map makers. Unless what you are looking for is just “piles of maps for PvP” then there isn’t much overlap. From one of his posts, it sounds like he wasn’t very good at the sPvP aspect of the game either.
A particular dev’s skills do not necessarily translate well to every single part of the game.
I would know that, I’m a developer myself. But still. Energy spent on this could be rather spent where it’s needed the most.

9) Enable streaks – the winner team is assigned a new opponent on a new map until losing.
Streaks with increased multiplier of glory in each round , will naturaly will tranfer the sPvP popoulation to tPvP and increase their motivation to win (until they will logout)
That is actually an amazing idea.
Hell yea! I loved that in gw1!
Each month, the devs TAKE away something without adding anything new OR filling the hole…
^exactly that. Seem like there is a whole team that work to nerf everything and nobody to improve.
But there is a big team that work on quaquaan /charr back pack and cavalier outfit?!
Exactly what I was wondering. And now this arcade machine of some sort or whatever that stuff is. I hope it’s an april fools joke. I really hope so. Adding pointless things instead of improving pvp which really needs improvements and new stuff can’t be excused.
I agree. In gw1 there was such punishment that if you left in the middle of the game you got a special debuff which prevented you to play pvp for 5min. Sounds good to me. Or glory/rank points punishment. Or both. Something. Please.
What Zinwrath said! Doesn’t mean those new modes shold be ultra balanced and competitive. Give us just something fun to do in PvP… O_ô
Does leaderboard make any sense even without custom matches and with current solo vs team possibility?
I agree with both of you. And yes, Anet saying they want gw2 to get into e-sport and not having custom matches, ratings and spectator mode. It’s just… I don’t know. WTF?
Would you be still paying for it now or would you freezee the account (temporary not paying) until something new worth playing came out (like an expansion?).
Honest answers please.
I probably would do the 2nd thing.
Do you guys think if ArenaNet implemented at least custom matches where teams could choose which team do fight, would this be a big step forward? In my oppinion yes.
Second question. Do you think if at least that was implemented and if there was a web page (application) where you could organized tournaments and matches would that help alot or do you guys think it must be implemented in-game in order to work?
I’m kinda surprised there’s no custom matches after like half a year… :S
But on the other hand. Is PvP really that bad or it’s just lacks some additional features. I didn’t play much pvp (only rank 11) but I felt like it was really well balanced (for such a new game – doesn’t mean there’s nothing more to do here) and mostly it was fun.
Does it only lack features like observer, ladders, custom games? Cause with all those whine qq posts you can’t be sure… O_ô
I wish someone from Anet would read this and at least reply with something meaninful and not just:“Thanks for info… we’re working on it …”
They added ponies to the Dreamer.
They added invisible enemies.
They added riding clothes.Conclusion:
Invisible Pink Unicorn Mounts of the Mist!On a serious note, what other changes are coming to WvW?
Rank?
Can we get Badges > Commander?
WvW Ascended Gear? The whole March patch is culling removal?
Ofcourse not! It’s culling removal + … LIVING STORY! (which is 3 npc dialogs + 2 grinding achivements)
Jumping puzzles which I dislike. And they give shaming rewards.
When life gives you obsidian shards make a lemonade.
Only one word to say: Amen!
Not alot to do after half a year. I know people says there’s sooooooo much content like jumping puzzles, fractals, dungeons, ….
I don’t like jumping puzzles, I dislike fractals (made it to 11 and am only doing them for monthly from then on), I did most of the dungeon explorables and dungeons are the only thing that keeps me coming back but I feel not for long. Most of the dungeons are too easy once you did the path like 3 times.
Please. We need something to do that requires brains.
Whiners gonna whine.
open up crystal desert… man i wanna wander around there
Amen brother!

How about the MoBo? Is it good enough? The other one I was considering was: GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H

For gaming you won’t see much difference between a i7-3770 and i5-3550/3570. Probably not worth going i7 unless you have applications that use hyperthreading like video editing etc.
Get a Hyper212+/Evo. Cheap 15-25 cooler that will let you overclock 4.4-4.6 very well.
Evo?

So I finally made my configuration for new computer and I can’t decide between processors. Is it worth spending money for 3770 over 3550? And how big of a difference does it make if I overclock i5 or i7? I don’t want to spend extra money on cooling and stuff. Is it possible to overclock without extra cooling and just a good PSU?
Here’s my current configuration (not sure about CPU as I said):
Mainboard S-1155 ASUS P8Z77-V LX, ATX
Procesor INTEL Core i5 – 3570K, 3,40GHz, LGA1155, Quad-Core, Boxed
DDR3-RAM KIT 16 GB, 1600 MHz, CL9, CORSAIR Vengeance
Gfx PCI-E 3.0 ASUS HD7870-DC2-2GD5-V2, Retail, 2048MB

So. I’m buying a new computer and I can’t decide on CPU. I want my WvW to run smooth in big battles. I was thinking of buying Intel i5 3570 and probably Radeon 7850 2gb (if that matters).
Can you please post your configuration and fps count in WvW (also tell me the gfx settings you’re using). And if someone has too much time you can suggest the whole configuration. Up to about 850$.
Thank you in advance!
And for those who don’t know. In downed state if you kill a blossom (flower) you revive. And those are pretty easy to kill. One or two hits at most.
I don’t totaly agree, but I agree mostly with you. We DO need hard mode of some kind for dungeons. Just like diablo has inferno mode which people could not beat for a while (mostly because of equipment, but whatever). I want that feel! Something hard like hell but with slight possibility to get a really good reward.
I agree with Bobobejumbo.4951 and Zeph.5927. Nerfing classes just because some people lack skills in PvP is silly.
The same reason why dungeons get nerfed. Because people whine they’re too hard.
Well, some things should be hard as hell! Unless I see no point in playing this game. I can just go play tetris then. Oh, wait. Even tetris becomes harder at the end… O_ô
In the AC path 2 at the part where you have to control the traps there an annoying bug. If you stand in the shallow water and use phase retreat I happened to leap under the ground twice. I think it happense when you’re near the stairs (middle trap switch).
I don’t like the idea that much. No offense. What I do like is the timer-reward idea.
I would really like to se something like in gw1 factions where that competitive missions had the name of the group (guild, alliance? Can’t remember) of the team that completed it the fastest. The name appeared when you clicked on the outpost.
They could do the same when you enter the dungeon. A popup of somekind (notice) to show you tkittenest times and the names of the people maybe. Or maybe just 1st best time.
I play dungeons with the same people and we’re kinda good together. We tried this path for the first time yesterday (well, on of our guys tried this and failed once) and we made it in first try.
The only hard party in my oppinion is the party with tons of mobs at the begining and the part when you have to take the flames to the other side.
Overall I think the difficulty is right on the spot. You just havfe to figure out the best tactic for your team for the last boss. I’m not gonna tell you how we did it because then you’ll be having no fun at all.
Conclusion:
I really hate that people just complain about difficult of the dungeons. They’re suppose to be hard. I wish some dungeons were even harder. It’s the “end game” of some kind after all. Come on guys. Just try a few times, you get better with every try.
Hi,
Since there is a bug that is affecting only certain people, will you be able to isolate that people and give them (us) the lost tokens?
I’m kinda losing 45+ tokens per day cause we do at least 3-6 runs.
P.S.
Any eta on patch for this?
Same group as yesterday. Same bug. First run of the day for everyone at about 17:30 (we didn’t even do any after midnight).
3 people got 60 tokens
2 people got 45 tokensI think. At least 1 didn’t get full reward.
P.S.
We did all the TA paths in 35-50min. Still this bug applied.

I’m no hardcore player and I do TA with ease(all three paths) with my group. Almost easy with even with people who haven’t play (up-up, the easiest path). I just tell them how to do it.
Find a group who did the dungeon before and knows hot to do it and let them learn you. It’s really not that hard.
I regret picking asura for my guardian cause the GS looks like a norn dagger. Just make it bigger and let the asuras wear a little angled.
i hope there’ll be a compensation…
You wish. We all do actually.
Why are you punishing players for being proficient at the game and “clearing things too quickly”… this is a very stupid thing to put in a video game.
“Hey bro, you’re too good at the game… I’m going to penalize you for that.”
… huh???
-
I’m very disappointed in this decision.
My point exactly. If I have an awsome group I want to have an advantage not be punished.
I still dont get it. DR or not. Did you guys get 60 for every first path?
Seems to me like a whole day. And it doesn’t work as they said in update notes. I didn’t get 60 tokens for every first path.
Well meanwhile some people (most of the party) are getting 60 even on second runs. Better fix that.
P.S.
They said you should get 60 on every first run on a path right? Not seing that.
In Twillight Arbor:
First up-up path I got 60 tokens
First forw-up path I got 45 tokens
Second up-up I got 15 tokens
Third up-up I got 8 tokens
First forw-forw (dont remember but I think 4 tokens)
Second forw-up path I got 5 tokens
What is up with that? O_ô
