I feel this came up over a year ago. Not sure why it hasn’t been addressed. If they make the meaning more clear, that means less work for support.
What, pray tell, is so hard to understand about the term “unique”?
No, really. I’m seriously. What needs to be fixed on ANet’s end over this? Do we really need a tooltip that screams “OMFG YOU CAN ONLY WEAR ONE OF THESE AT A TIME THAT’S WHY WE CALL IT UNIQUE”?
Because if that’s the case, I need to find another game. I saw what dumbing stuff down did to WoW and SWTOR. I’m simply not interested in running around a world where players have to be spoonfed – it’s BORING. -Sid
Do you feel better then others because you are so “smart”?
Sorry for you, Sid, but your wisdom and hatred against people making mistakes (including in other forum posts) make you look like you have serious issues outside of Tyria. If you are really like this in the world we are living in, I feel sorry for you.
over 9000 (the rest is none of your business)
One person isn’t a guild.
actually it is. The guild is named and created, it just has one member, no matter how you turn or twist it, it is still called a guild within the realms of Tyria.
Fine, you and your guild can go do a T3 Bounty Hunt. I’m sure it will go over flawlessly.
I’ll never understand the appeal to being a lone wolf with a tag, but more (or in this instance less) power to you.
Who is saying I do this with my bank storage guild? lol, Stop read hidden messages in what I or others are writing…

No, one person isn’t a guild. One person as the ability to make a guild but according to the actual definition of the world guld, even lore wise, one person is not a guild. A guild is an organization. You can’t organize 1.
That’s why 1 person does an event and gets 2 influence, but 2 from the same guild get 20.
Anet was nice enough to allow solo players to make bank guilds, but it’s really just a tolerated abuse of the system.
it is still called a guild.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
There are points to what Vayne is saying and to what you are saying. Vayne is correct in the sense that a guild, by definition, is a plurality of people coming together for a common cause and, as such, cannot be a single person. This is also true lore-wise. You are right, however, in the sense that Anet can define guild to mean whatever they want it to within their own world through their game mechanics and have seemingly redefined it, exclusively to GW2, to mean “registered in the system with a guild name and at least one member”.
So it’s called a guild through the meta-game as defined by Anet, but I do not think it would be reasonable to call it a guild through lore or real-world definitions.
Indeed I am just saying what it is called, nothing more nothing less, I can not help people read a text on the internet thinking there is some hidden message inside of what others write, also I personally think real world definitions have nothing to do with the in game definitions or lore or what ever. Tyria is a world on its own.

I like Trahearne, his voice acting isn’t bad at all really, it is the sound “bite” creator cutting and pasting several pieces into each other that made it a mess.

Not exactly spoiler(s) as they showed us the inside of the Guild Initiative in one of the Twitch streams.
Still looks cool.
because everyone is watching the twitch stream. all the time every time.
for those taht say to toughen up and just do pvp: NO, my choice to not play pvp ever. i tried it before i didnt like it and i will not play it again- ever.
but i gave up on legendaries a loooooong time ago already so no issues to must have a new one.
either way, legendaries are useless.
do not get me wrong, they look cool and all, but as far i understand with the new system we are forced to go in pvp and play that to be able to make a “new” legendary weapon… sigh. yeah forced.
“buoy” would be a word from the Dutch “boei” ;-p
dont pat yourself on the shoulder jsut yet as it is derived from spanish AND dutch.
probably from Middle Dutch boye, boeie, from a Germanic base meaning ‘signal’. The verb is from Spanish boyar ‘to float’, from boya ‘buoy’.
make one and level it up, it should be lvl 80 within a day or two max.
“Underwater exploration is a major part of Guild Wars 2.” https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2
“Guild Wars 2 has a significantly larger world than that of Guild Wars.5 Underwater explorable areas are a significant part of some zones, some of which have over half of the area underwater. These underwater areas are designed to be easily accessible and fun places to explore for all players so there aren’t any breath meters or time limits. The underwater areas have new friendly races and their own events. "So what happen with that content?
you must be playing another game then the rest of us…. if it is actually fun to have some combat underwater, well that is personal.
My guess is the scarcity and inflation on cloth prices is intentional. If it wasn’t they could just simply lower the silk bottleneck.
It isn’t fair that it’s far more expensive to fully outfit an elementalist with ascended.
True, but being an ele drops seem to be weighted towards cloth, so purchasing outright would be more expensive, but farming would be quicker.
I’m pretty sure that purchasing is faster than farming. ^^
first farming for gold then purchasing….. or just farming for cloths…. seems pretty equal if you ask me.

If it’s empty (black) it’s done, if it’s full (yellow) it’s not. Not sure which CB type would hide that fact.
I havent been online since patch came but they switched it around?
for some odd reason i am always on lower health during a fight with my warrior then with any of my other squishy characters (mesmer, ele, necro).
my warrior tends to die faster then those others as well. sure the armor and buffs help to stay alive easy, but my squishy characters are way faster in killing then my warrior. if anything warrior should be buffed to be an actual warrior.
bye, have fun with whatever you are going to do without us
RP community is just like any other: it has nice people, elitists|purists, casuals, jerks, friendlies, etc
to be honest, and i been in a very huge RP guild and been Rping pretty much, 95% of the RPing people i have encountered are totaly elitilists.
I don’t think that’s an accurate reflection of the community as a whole. That’s like saying you join speed clearing PUGs and 95% of the players you meet are dungeon elitists. There’s one spot in DR that I can stand and never see anything other than elitist RP in /say and another where I’ve only seen RPG-PUG-friendly examples. (I don’t RP myself, so maybe it reads differently to the participants.)
therefore the words in my sentence: 95% of the RPing people i have encountered. for me this is accurate enough.
So all I am saying is that what i know from personal experience.

I have met very nice people, but as OP said, one tiny mistake and you are out, dont get spoken to or the kittens fly around.
To OP: RP on your own terms, and stop hanging in rurikton… worst place with dialogs being done over and over and over and over.
but in the 12 years or so of playing
no you didnt, max 11 years and that would include beta testing.
Please no.
We have enough emote spam in chat already. Having emotes bound to a single keystroke would only make it worse.
what a nonsens, you can just turn of the emotes you know.
thanks for this topic. just bought season 2
team up with people it will be much easier.
just click the thing you want to interact with instead and then press F
in north america
people asked for events fast and now, but what they forget that “the team” is “fully” concentrated on the upcoming expansion release, therefore all people have to suffer with “badly” planned event in between with little to no connection to real gameplay.
It is sad but since launch till now, guild wars has suffered a lot of negative attention, and I really miss looking forward to upcoming events, just not so exciting anymore as it was around launch.
Since you cant opt out of playing with beta content like reaper rev, etc. You can no longer queue pvp without running into beta content.
Personally, I absolutely can not stand beta tests. I dont like dealing with balance problems or bugs. I never sign up for beta tests for anything. Why am I unable to choose to participate in this? I want to pvp without the stupid beta stuff.
Allow us to select whether or not we want to play with beta content forgodssake
not a single person in the world is holding a gun against your head and demanding you play any beta game what so ever. it is your own choice because YOU WANT to play the current game with it is added beta items/characters.
Someone using the name Mohammed was forced to name change.
Someone using the name Jesus still has the name.I reported both and checked on both regularly.
The funny part is that in the first case, that’s the person’s real name. In the second case, it’s not.
both can actually be real life names…
They might not take action if only one or two people report the name. I do not know how many people need to report a name (unless it is REALLY offensive ofcourse) for A-net to actually take action. If you really are “upset” about a name just report and block the person.
how to solve ALL of this: Buy the full game.
Whispers in your ear: “micro-transactions”.
a birthday finisher…. what use is that when not playing pvp?
zoom out a bit, as far i can remember there is some bat type creatures there that fly up to evade your attacks? maybe some of this lava creaters, but they dont go invisible.
sounds to me like a videocard issue of the sorts… (i could be wrong ofcourse)
havent been spammed by gold sellers for like….. 6 months…. it isnt THAT big of an issue what a few extremes here and there.
just report block and be done with it, takes you literally 3 seconds.
buy a bigger screen….
Hello everyone I am upset with a low percentage of the guild wars 2 community on almost a daily basis at least once I have to meet a extremely abusive player that uses extreme excessive verbal abuse directed at me and I am sure you have all dealt with this also. my issue is with the Report tool at hand. you report the player and block the player and that’s as far as you hear anything about the matter. I have met players I have reported in the past that did not encounter a ban or any kind of punishment for breaching the community rules. I would like some kind of confirmation from Anet that your issue is being dealt with. anet aggressively enforce their rules to protect their business but what rules are they enforcing to protect the community ? I have played guild wars since the launch of factions and now just purchased HOT for 80 pounds. this is a on going concern of mine and now at the brink of of not playing guild wars ever again because of the growth of toxic players
People were mean to you on the internet? And somehow you’re too edgy to turn on your profanity filter? God kitten , must’ve been tough growing up in a trigger-free environment. This isn’t tumblr. The last thing we need is SJW’s destroying this game
The profanity filter is not in place so that you can swear or use profanity in any way. This has been several times stated on the forums before (look up yourself I just woke up).
I do agree with OP though, even with profanity filter on, when I play this game it is annoying that certain people have the need to work around the profanity filter, or in other cases do not do that effort, just to annoy other players or because they have a bad day, or because they think it is cool to do this sitting from their home on the other side of the continent.
Then again on the other side, there are people so sensitive that when said something ment for some other person, they might block you because they thought it was ment for them…..
My experiences with this game is that there is two extremes on both sides of the spectrum. either waaaaay to sensitive for anything that even just looks wrong in their eyes, or overly “aggresive/kitten”.
The players in the middle there are pretty cool though
do it just for the fun of it?
Seriously?
I did the math AGES ago (to prove this point to someone else in my personal life), but essentially, since you make back the money you’d spend on crafting tools about 10 fold by both exploration (events and map opening, not to mention dungeons, etc) and through selling excess mats after a time, this whole using up thing is silly. Carry enough or just pop back to a merchant and buy more.
It really doesn’t take THAT much time or energy to do this in game and it gives you time to clear inventory as well. I just…what?
Why is this even a thing?
you might have misunderstood what he ment
Regardless I feel the tools can be streamlined with the right coding: IF node is 0 then stop animation. I believe this this could make things smoother just by hitting once and that’s it. No need to keep hitting activate every 3 hits.
but what does it really matter? it doesnt kill you , use up resources or break the game in any way. other then stealing 1 and a half second of your time (if you dont just run away) what is the issue. I am fairly sure arenanet is aware of things like this and at some point they may or may not fix this, but it is so minor i doubt they will ever fix it. I think most people just live with it/deal with it as it is because it doesnt steal tool usage (we all been looking at our equipment tab while doing this).
Sorry if i seem to be hating on you I am really not, just a matter of different thinking.
I always find it funny that for so many people change means instantly failure.
adapt or do not adapt, that is up to you. use the tools given like it or not if not well then it might be not your thing but it does not make it a failure…
dont need to cancle, also is it actually true that it uses up the two extra “hits”? I dont think so. ( inever really cared tbh)
You dont need to buy 12. i got one of each and they are on the character i play the most, and if I go on another character and play that for a while i just put it in bank and take it for a few days/hours. I always log out around a bank/crafting station.
besides I dont see the issue where you can just harvest and the 4th time just press W and move where you want.
buy an unlimited use harvesting tool… problem solved.
everyone here is talking about how small guilds are not worth the efforts and blabla!
You know what? I BOUGHT GUILDWARS! I want my OWN guild. Like everyone else should be able to have their own. I have my own guild and some friends who are even less on then I am (I am on each day they are more once a month due to real life and such) and yet I want a guild hall. But I do not feel like “growing” my guild with random people I never met before, I find it insanely hard to find people on GW2 with the same mind set as I have and play the game in similair ways. It would mean recruiting that would take away my own game time as a “guild leader” having to organize all aspects of the game (including the parts I do not like, erhm yes I dislike pvp aspects).
I cant trust some random person to be allowed into the guild vaults/bank/cove. I would need to fix that all the time when people ask can i have have have have have.
So yes, even small guilds should be able to get a guild hall. 5 people should be enough. party size. that is what we have the LFG tool for. That is how I hope it will turn out!
ok so arenanet does not like my opinion. (which would agree in general that humans are humans), very funny.
This is not “other games” this is GW!
anyways: It always have been like this. now everyone gets to deal with it, now everyone can (and should) report things they think is not okay or unbalanced. Then the team get to work on it. test servers are used by a small amount of the general population of gamers in the totals of all players. now everyone gets to do this.
where there is change, people whine. can not get away from it. I really can not be bothered with my old build or new build. I use the tools i have available. Never played meta builds either. Just what works for me
I welcome back the login que’s..
I can allready see server activity has gone up,
I rarely DC, something like 3 dc’s pr year.
but now the last 2 weeks i DC almost every second day now.
Even the forum “RIGHT NOW” gave me “ERR CONN” timeout when logging in.sigh kitten large patches that people come to play, preventing regulars from playing.
Might just be you because i have not a single disconnect for a very very long time. and besides last weeks forum issues never have on the forums.
well well, what a “win”.
To all community members still being sour in either way: STOP IT! It was in a way for may people a legit concern (however I do agree that Arenanet do not owe anyone anything), and yes people pulled a lot of things out of context during their blind dissapointment/rage. I can however also relate with many reactions.
I for one am glad Arenanet choose to adress this as good they could, and above all that they are listening to their audience. Personally I did not care THAT much about an extra character slot or not (even that it would be nice) as I simply will not pre purchase because I want a hard copy of the game (I own all Guild Wars games as a hard copy and this would be no exception for me!). I might however still purchase and get myself two copies, and just give one copy to a good friend of mine instead. Money is not the issue and it never was.
I want to say: Thank you Arenanet for being fast and adressing issues. This shows how you solve things as good as you can and are aware of ongoing issues at all times, and if not that you read, understand and solve those issues!
