To tell the true…for me i would already be happy if there would be done some extra quests and daily missions with the order of tyria…since everyone choosed 1 of these 3..but there is no effect except the story…in daily playing it feels like they dont even excist.

Half of these (e.g. Crafter, monsterhunter, merchant) are already gravitated towards by most people. Oftentimes, people move freely between them. In that sense, I suppose it wouldn’t be too bad if you could be in three factions at a time.

However, adding in other factions (e.g. Bandits, guards, shaman) will drastically change gw2 to the point where it won’t really be gw2 anymore. You also have to take in account that we already have our own personal stories and background for how our character was brought up. I’m not sure which storyline would fit in with e.g. Mercenary. Having the world run by players and not NPCs especially would crumble the game. Who’s going to buy off all your junk items? Run the TP? Who’s going to stand there all day just to tell passerbys how to get to the next tavern?

I doubt this will be easily implemented (if at all) into the already-standing structure of gw2, but roleplayers may already have created similar factions =P maybe there’s already a guild out there full of barkeepers your ideas would be good for a separate game. I’d scout that game =P

i guess i choosed wrong words…when i used the word pvp, im sorry. i dont mean to add pvp to pve. wvw is doing is already (in bad way ..but they r improveing)..but i guess my 1st suggestion should more go into wvw than normal maps….but i still think my 2ns suggestion could work and as i said..pls read it

its like hide and seek..not like pvp

a player gets attackable for other player…and this player get more exp and gold the longer he stays alive..while the other player attacking him..get more exp and money the faster they killed him…

now…this running player..should have no skills..and like 30% speed buffs..also..if the player stay in the same spot for 5 sec..a firefield only attacking him will spawn for the next 1 min..so he cant just sneak and hide in an area which is difficult to reach.

  • Division, Fraction

My idea is..to make 10-20 divisions..they r something like a community haveing a special task. They interact with eachother and each give a different playstyle and reward. Players r able to give quests to other player. Its a bit like real Life xP
just like technology can learn from nature (bionic), games can learn from real life ;D
with a fee and a daily or weekly swap limit it should be possible to change these fractions.
Also the aim of this is..to make a city ruled and organiced by player mainly..and not from npcs.

edit: Forgot to wrote..since its missunderstanding by the discriptions i wrote below.

  • Monsterhunter
    Monsterhunter are brave heros that love the thill and the challange. They often get requests from crafter, merchants and collector to provide them with material dropped from monster. Also guards, farmer and hosts need their help if a very strong monster is threatning the city,farm or give hard times to a host when no guest can visit the hotel/bar without beeing killed. The archologists found new ruins!…but evil spirits r all over the place…thats sounds like a job for the monsterhunter.
    If the monster is too strong they can also call a mercenary to join them. 2 blades r better than 1. To reach places that r difficult to reach they may also need the help of an explorer, who else is better in finding hidden paths?
    Some monster require special equipment, then monsterunter can ask the merchants for help..or if the price is too high they get the materials from collector (but these skritt like shiny collector rarely give away their precious shiny), farmer, fisher, explorer, or any other and bring these material to a crafter.
  • Crafter
    Crafter are skilled in producing products. There is nothing better than creating something with ur very own hands! They get requests from monsterhunter who r stuck with a mission and cant get it done right without the crafters help. But the most common customer of a crafter are merchants, who needs the headache of selling things and customers than dont want to pay the whole price? let the merchants have the headache. Also some mercenary and guards come for a request to improve their equipment since they jobs r a matter of life and death.
  • Merchants
    Merchants keep the economy running and provide anyone with goods. Merchants r ready to help u to find the right sword, shoes or materials. Oh? you found ur own shoes that were just stolen from some sneaky bandits while you took a bath in the lake? Maybe you should call the guards…But of course merchants usually give requests to any other division that can provide them with goods so dont worry! not every merchant only want money money and more money.
    Also merchants gives mercenary and guard jobs that they should bring their goods to the customer.
  • Mercenary
    As long as the payment is right mercenary do any kind of job. They help monsterhunter or guards. Also the fragile archologist needs help to reach their beloved ruins alive. Or the explorer get stuck bcs there is a super nasty Monster. Some mercenary work for bandits, why not help to make the rich poor and the poor rich? and making yourself rich also.
    After a loong day its the best to go to a bar! you may find a new job or just have fun with everyone singing songs! And who said that an asura cant beat a norn in drinking beer? Lets prove the opposite!
  • Bandits
    Life ain’t easy. There r these stingy merchants, these barkeeper that throw u out of their bar once u “found” a coin or two. Bandits are sneaky and always trying to find a way to get what they want. Well..usually they get requests from others (cant mention their name). But sometimes u just see that poor guy, haveing no good cloths (or is he a fisher who was just diving in the cold river and forgot to wear his cloths again?)and in the next city the merchant dont know what to do with all the cloths he own tht he send them to a different city. Too bad these guards dont understand that u just wanna help this poor guy (or ur own pocket) when u “ask” the merchant to give their goods away. Guards r always in the way…so its good to be sneaky and avoid them or use tricks to fool them to get what u need. Brute force is not always the best way..with all these super hero mercenarys around that just steal all your goods once they kick your butt. Also a tip…becareful that bounty hunter dont catch you.
  • Law Guardians/Guards
    For great justice! and all citizen of tyria! Bandits r sneaking around all over the place. its the duty of a guard to stop them. Also its good to keep an eye on some merachants, they might work together with some bandits. But bandits r not the only problem. There r also monster attacking the city so its important to move around and inside the city regulary. And guards help everyone in need. Well..except these shamans tht wanna steal bones from the cementary for i dont know what strange rituals.
    But nothing goes over bounty hunting! and kick some bandits butts. Or just relax in the bar.
  • Barkeeper/Host
    Singing contests! playing music and drinks! That and more are available in bars. People from all tyria comes here to enjoy time, finding someone for a job or getting a job, just resting after traveling a long distance. Its the job of a Host to keep things up. They might also hear some rumors about hidden chests or ruins filled with gold. So asking someone to help will be good.

well…i actually see no real difference in normal pve if player can join the bandits instead of protecting the merchants. Bcs it should be balanced in a way that the protecting player is much stronger. But its not the aim of the bandits to kill player..but to get the goods.

and..what i want is to make gw2 better. i dont see a problem if there is 1 map out of 20 that gives such kind of events..even someone who dont like pvp in open world should be able to agree with it.
and…u read the 2nd suggetsion? pls read it bcs its really not like pvp at all..its just a new kind of event.

the way it is atm its a half fail for me…its nice for a small moment..and then its either over and u feel u gained nothing..or it takes ages..

there r maaaaaany masteries missing..an they should be some really cool things that improve the gameplay nd provide fun.

also the way masteries r unlocked is stupid…its brainless exp farm….i dont mind farms..but at least something that is fun and u r free to do it ur way.

i got some suggestions for masteries that would really be cool

  • Huntsman masteries:
    allows u to have higher drop rates of certain items..like leather and meat and such. You can choose which item u wanna increase..and switch out the one that is active. (so u can have leather active…but others not..so if u wanna have more blood now u need activate it but the leather goes away). Also…i think to avoid the stupid exp farm it would be cool to develop these masteries when u do these things….so when u r hunting wild animals u increase the masteries lvl step by step.
  • Secret/Chest Hunter (or something like this ;D):
    increase the chance of finding chests in the world(such like in the end of JP´s) and make the loot better from them.
    also finding new entrances of caves or such would be cool.
  • Challanger:
    beeing able to summon a challange in the open world. Like suddenly appearing 20-30 monster. I really love running around the open world and finding these mini dungeons where r many monster just to lure all and kill them all. but i feel like the population of monster decreased since release..and events r not the same anymore…they r not a challange anymore..but its a challange to hit every monster at least 1 time so u get loot.
    or any other challange is welcome something for soloplayer also..
  • Skillmaster

Content worth of my 45€. I won’t give them money that easily again. And I am not alone.

i agree that HoT dont worth the money it cost (till now)…

but i still gone buy the next expack..im a big fan of gw since ages…i just wish they would keep up their unique gamedesign
also i hope for the return of map instances like in gw1…at least as a new gamemode…its really needed for a big comunity of different people that everyone can choose between easy, normal and hardmode..so everyone can choose his/her gamemode and be happy

Rather than hope for another expansion, asked for one thing -> Fixed lots of bugs that should have been fix.

Basicly…bring back enjoying the normal maps..and solo gameplay…with thes eideas forexample

1. muuuch more different events styles that can also be player solo.

  • events like escorting…but this time u can choose between attacker and protecter(resulting a different reward)
  • map wide events of searching special hidden spots
  • mentor events or quests like teaming up with weaker player and help them
  • hide and seek ;D xP

2. muuuuuch mini dungeons…i love these challanges..and they can be done solo or with random people that r there at the same time (loved that a lot in the first days of gw2..everyone was an ally…not like now where its either the others mess all up or steal ur loot bcs of killing all monster within 1 second)

  • puzzles that requires some looking around and some hinking, not only jumping ability (jumping is cool but finding out tricks and secrets too)

3. more masteries also for central tyria

  • and the desert in the south-east….the guard at the big gate at ebonhawke..warning me not to go there bcs its dangerous makes me wanna go there even more…

Im really thinking that the staff skills r useing too much of the energy…especially skill nr2..usally the skill nr2 of every weapon dont use more than 10..but this chain needs 20 ! thats really crazy..i think 10 would be fair and a good amount.

its a really nice and awesome weapon…but comapred to the sword/shield it got less surivability due to high energyloss

Legend: Varesh Ossa
Possible changed mechanic: Avatar of Abaddon. For x seconds, every y seconds you gain 3 stacks of might, fury, protection, regeneration, 1 stack of stability and resistance.

Possible Weapon Skills:
This attack deals x damage for each boon affecting you.

Possible Utility Skills:
Healing skill. Mystic Healing. Remove x boons from yourself and heal yourself for y. Remove 1 condition and heal an additional y per removed boon.

Utility skill 1. Mystic Corruption. Remove x boons from yourself. Apply x conditions to up to 5 enemies within range (radius: 360?). The conditions depend on the boons removed.

Utility skill 2. Mystic Vigor. Upkeep skill. Every x seconds you gain a random boon and lose a random boon (in that order).

Utility skill 3. Mystic Sandstorm. Remove x boons from yourself. Deal damage each second around you. Lasts y seconds per boon removed.

Elite skill. Enchantment Collapse. Remove all boons on you. Steal up to 3 boons from up to 5 enemies around you (radius: 360?).

Possible traits:
Arcane Zeal. Gain 1 energy every time a boon on you is removed (ICD: ?).

Whenever a boon on you is removed, you deal 1% more damage for x seconds. This stacks up to 10 times.

Dust Cloak. Whenever a boon on you is removed, enemies around you are blinded (ICD: ?).

Gain x health every time a boon on you is removed (ICD: ?).

Gain a random boon every time a boon on you is removed (ICD: ?).

this idea from a former post is soo cool ! im tottay for it..also if the weapon skills would be animated like not holding a normal gs..but a bit like a scythe..what they were useing in gw1…so holding it more down than up….and if there ould be some aoe skills around the player..with wind and lighting effect..as i remember the derwish also had this.

so..my suggestion is for revenant before it was released many people thought it gona be a ritualist style…but there is nothing like this xP so..why not make something similar to gw1 ritualist? it as as awesome profession

name: Ritualist – Spirit Dancer
Legend – Master Togo or Xandra or others
Weapon – Scepter

Would be cool if its similar to the gw1 ritualist. Especially with weapon spells and ghosts. The ghosts can use like glint legend energy to keep up. And the scepter autoattack is like that bubble which explode in 2 seconds with aoe dmg. and the other r like smaller bubbles exploding and spreading to 2-3 enemies around the target when it hits. and the animation r like the dancing moves the ritualist use while attacking and casting a ghost in gw1

some ideas for ghosts r like the typical ones that attack..but also one that make burn around it every 3 seconds..or take 20% of the dmg untill it have no health anymore…or other effects

who can resist the picture ?? Ritualist is so cool with its blue/green events and dancing style

Hello people of Tyria

Its me again and with a new suggestion..

My suggestion now is a new kind of event..which can be applied in all Tyria (i think especially central Tyria).

First i was thinking..that the excisting events need some new spieces xP It would be really cool to just join the badits attacking the Npc Merchants on their way in queensdale..but i guess this i will write a different time..bcs its kind of complex to mke it fair for all…..(also if wvw imporve it will just have that..so no need for it to be in pve)

so ..my idea is comming from that idea….and its like a player in the map..gets “evil” or..at least attackable for other player…and this player get more exp and gold the longer he stays alive..while the other player attacking him..get more exp and money the faster they killed him…

Hello people of tyria

i got a nice and cool suggestion…and i hope it might one day find its way in the game..

Also i would like to hear ur opinion and feel free to write if u find something to improve my idea

So..since there is so much to do in gw2..especially small things..and you always find more and more new cool stuff to do…so much that u forget about it…so..it will be great and nice to have a reminder for these things one that u can do for ur own acc..and u can link even WPs in that diary.

for example:
(Link of WP A) – super nice spot for diving
(link of WP B ) – still need finish this achievment
(link C) – lots of strawberries \(^.^)/

gw2 got really much small and nice hidden places..it will be sad to just forget about them after beeing there 1 time.

About the map now..i think it will also be a good idea to be able to make more than only 1 mark in the map….its a similar idea like the diary thing (and i think both together it will be best working) ..and u can write a small discription about that mark in the map.

i wanted to thank u so much for this map <3 its my favorite map..its really cool how it is made…im stuck there for like 2 weeks..and i still find new ways each 20 min its so cool to discover…(unluckily discovering is not really rewarding…and there r not so many hidden quests like in central tyria..which were super great while explorering, but still its amazing how complex this map is)

First it was the map i hated the most..especially when i need something badly for a collection..but after running around without an aim other than fun..it became suuuuuuper cool keep up the good work ! \(^.^)/

What do you need so many sets for exactly?

1 set for PvE, and possibly another for WvW.

You can just use exotics for WvW unless you’re really hardcore into roaming. You can easily get a full set of exotics through dungeons.

since u got an ele…i think u can understand that 1 set for pve and wvw is not enough one dagger burning set is cool..with balthasar runes…then one for dungeon and strengh rune…and then if someone wanna use all utility skills while haveing perma speed…the traveler rune. (but at least the first 2 r a must if someone wanna play all builds in a good way)

especially for wvw u have like 4 -5 different sets bcs of the need of different runes.

well..i mainly play pvp…and there the mapchat is usually toxic^^ maybe this explains it….when i was in queensdale today..there was even a party to welcome new player was really cute and lovely + sooo much fun

also i dont understand why some exicisting player assume that every new f2p-player is a bad guy who only spam and its bad for them to be able to join guilds or to creat guilds. (these r just few examples from what i heared).

sure i was also feeling lil dissapointed when i heared gw2 become f2p….but when i tested it..it seemed more like a trial than f2p. Also it is made in a way that f2p acc cant be used for abusing. (or at least not so much). so it is ok..its helping player who r interesed in gw2 to test it..and then to buy HoT if they like it. and this dont mean that they r bad people.

While fixing the legendary armor…also fixing the legendary weapon would be cool x) It still dont have all stats (like spender not beeing there) and beeing able to change the sigils will also be great….builds r not only about stats..but also about the runes and sigil

the ele really needs a different playstyle. 3 years brainless swapping of elements after just 3 seconds switch to the next is annoying…it is a cool way of figthing bcs its new and all..and got some advantages in some situations..but some new playstyle is most welcomed)

Its soo bad that the ele specialisation is just a better version of an excisting build. It brings completly new gameplay for me. In pve its again just a brainless mighstacker. It is fixing the problem elementalists have…that they need to switch the element every 2 seconds in oder to be good…and also makes it not a must to blast any firefield to give allies might…but to be honest..it will just be it again….to be most effective again brainless mightstacking is needed and switching the element every 2-3 seconds…maybe we will wait like 5-10 seconds 1 time to make that fireoverload..but thats it.

As for pvp..i didnt try it out yet..but it looks like it will be a bit stronger than the DD cele ele.

for me i think its so sad that ele have a very limited playstyle there r just 3 acceptable builds for pvp. and for pve anything other than the mightstacker makes no sense.

Would be nice to choose only 2 Elements but make them much stronger and better.

well all in all i think tempest is a nice try to solve the elementalists problem..but i guess it dont solve it.

this percieved “problem” is not a problem. it is how the ele is supposed to play. that is why we have no weapon swap and high CD, an a bunch of traits all about switching attunments.

As for better…are you high? have you even played tempest? it is weaker in everyway and doesn’t synergise.

i dont get the part of me to take drugs (try not to insult everyone whos not with ur opinion)…..but…y i played the tempest and for me the mighstack and boonshare combo is now much stronger on ele..thats a fakt (with warhorn and firetrait)

bcs it is the way it is suppost to play it is a problem..
and what i mean by problem is..that elementalist got only 1 playstyle..so swap elements like crazy and the tempest just support this ..and this is for me a problem..i cant imagine playing this class even 2 years more if it stays like this (and this is already the class i enjoy the most).
The thief gets a tottaly new playstyle. also the mesmer….but ele just get the same playstyle as before.

i just read the first post….soooo:

for me i think having an option for perma 25% speed would be nice..always in wvw i either need sacrifice a skill which would help me to survive or actually kill someone…or i lose a rune..which is extremly bad..also that i loce to play mesmer on the confusion rune…and there is no way for me to get speed..not even 33% for 2 seconds or something….so many enemies just run away when they notice they gona die..and i sloooowly walk after them…or i want run away myself..and cant catch up (bcs all the others have perma 25% speed..me not)

some thoughs from my guild:
- much more hostile than orr
- HARD open world stuff
- not just loong events but also small difficult and rewarding stuff.
- raid type map with epic bosses and semi fixed lootsystem
- only guild maps (like gw1 style) which can be choosed between easy, normal and hard.
-Maybe even progress with a weekly reset so it would be only for guild.

I would suggest you try out new builds and runes in PvP it will let you select all the stats and runes your heart could desire to understand if you like a build before committing to getting it for the investment PvE requires.

unluckily i always mix my gear..so pvp cant give me exact examples…also im often useing runes and sigils which dont excist in pvp or dont show the wanted effect.

Keep in mind that the Rune and Sigil market is a part of the economy, giving players the ability to change at will without regards to how they obtain those Runes and Sigils will have an affect on the Trading Post and the in-game economy. That is why there will never be a Rune/Sigil library like you have for skins in GW2, not unless you put a Gold cost in for each and every time you change a single Rune/Sigil(like you have with the Transmutation Charges for skins).

y sure. im not talking that it should be for free like in pvp. But at least thats better, bcs it helps to make experiments..untill someone find a nice and great build fitting to oneself. But really good thought bcs breaking the economy would be bad x)

Ok. Well in the past I have said in a few threads that a rune library would be a good idea, especially if they introduce legendary armor. A rune library would allow you to apply six runes to an armor, then save them so that you can switch between runes that have been previously applied. Same for legendary weapons and a sigil library. It would be a convenience over ascended, that little something more that makes someone want to craft legendary gear. With the ability now to forge ascended into new stats, legendary needs a little more to make me want to craft it.

This sounds soo cool! ..u know..legendary really have no big advantage anymore compared to asc gear. this would really make it nice and give it a good reason why to make it. (since the skins become not unique anymore if everyone have it)

what also would be nice if there would be some cool and nice mini dungeons here and there. i reaally love them from the original game. some difficult but small area and in the end there is something waiting

its unluckily again only about 1 issue..but seems noone want to talk about the real problem..the runes and sigils…well seems nr1 is too much outstanding…i hope my other forum post is more lucky

Everybody wants to be able to switch runes, sigils, and stats at will. But there’s no way to do that in game. Nobody can give you a solution for that, so they’re answering the only question they can. I wish I could tell you how to switch runes constantly without losing gold, but there is no way that exists. After three years, you haven’t experimented enough to know the builds you like?

bcs there is no way to do so in the game im posting it. im posting here ideas to improve the game…and point out problems.

but im really happy that people try to help me. but…im not here bcs i need help…but bcs this is the only way a normal player can get his/her ideas to the developer..

Since your the only one bringing up this in my humble oppinon not even a problem.

You got even more chars then me I got 8, if I run out of space on the main for the day I transport it to heart of the mist sell and bank there then poff back out were I was.

my whole guild have the same problem (like 50 player) and i also asked some random dudes in the game today…so im not the only one…and..most player who play gw2 they dont even look to the forums or even write there..bcs they r busy enjoying the game..but its important as a feedback for the developer.

What I would like is a system where you can merge two armors together and then be able to select the stats and runes from each whenever you want out of combat.

Merge Beserkers with X rune with Rampager with Y rune: get a gear that you can select either Beserkers or Rampager and either X or Y rune.

Merge that one with Celestial gear with Z rune and get a gear that you can select Beserkers or Rampager or Celestial and X, Y, or Z rune.

This would make the gear and crafting mats more valuable as people would be using them to merge gear together to gain more stat options without tying up inventory space.

I could get behind this.

Say i merge 5 types of ascended it would mean i could chose from the 5 different types depending on the game mode or scenario.

They could make it so that if you chose this option, the ascended armour becomes soul bound (or not) to the character to prevent just needing the 1 ascended armour across all characters of the same armour type.

And buy 6x of a rune type and imbue the armour with the rune type, making that rune set able to be selected from a drop down menu similar to PvP. I could imbue the armour with melandru, strength and perplexity runes and these would all be available from the drop-down menu.

i think making them soulbound is not so good…since all of this will cost like 2000g or even more..so i think its fair to make it accbound..so a mesmer can also use the ele gear
