They are constantly working on improving the latency issues and indeed they are much better now. I actually get worse skill lag on GW2 when large groups clash.

Animation cancelling is not a cheat and is an accepted part of the combat system.

There is a no CP campaign (which I play on) so everyone is on the same level except for gear but really crafted gear is very good and getting better with the next patch.

They aren’t interchangeable apparently, pvp armor can only be upgraded with pvp gifts.

The precursor of the second set of legendary armor requires 12 weeks and and 24 weeks for the legendary.
The wvw precursor of t2 armor requires 1310 tickets which mean 9 weeks of work.

1. Now break that down into hours ie the hours required to get the skirmish tickets vs the hours required for raiding.
2. We don’t know the requirements for the gifts yet.

I agree with the OP they have the original tome animations which were cool IMO, please anet use them. I still have a memory of the first time I saw a guardian use a tome early in the game.

Are you kidding me? Its WAY easier now. They even increased the time until participation decays now because people whined about it. Now I can literally hit dolyaks and go afk away for another 5 minutes until the next yak comes my way. It invalidates the amount of skill/time required to do these boss fights in raids compared to having to hit a dolyak/afk for 5 minutes rinse and repeat.

Raiding takes no more skill than WvW or PvP. But I was more talking about the overall effort and time required to actually get the ascended armor pieces. It was easier in PvP at first so they changed that.

And we don’t know whats required to get the 3 gifts yet anyway.

Just one quick question: If you bought the Exotic version of the WvW Triumphant Hero’s Armor and transmuted another piece of regular Ascended armor with the skins, are you able to convert it to legendary armor?

Because the cost of tickets to get the Exotic version is the same of the Ascended and a lot of people (myself included) already bought the Exotic version just to unlock the skins and transmuted other Ascended pieces to it.

From the look of it the majority of the weaver will still be bound to earth and water.

Thats why there is the barrier. I think when running solo using the traits and abilities to maximise barrier will be a must.

Tomes were one of the few real instances of full long-range support in a game filled to the brim with 600 range point-blank AoE support. As someone who likes caster supports (like monks, who were also removed), it’s insulting to see a such a rare form of support in this game just removed and then turned into more shouts two years later.

My solution is simple. Use the weapon swap button which ele currently doesn’t use to swap between which side of ur weapon bar you want to swap attuenments for. If the left side of the bar is picked things can work the way they currently do with things sliding over and dropping out. But if the right side is picked, keep the left side the same and swap the 4 and 5 skills for the new attunement. This will give weaver the ability to actually react with it’s reactive skills on the right side of its bar.

I’m pretty sure that not correct unless they have changed it. Heck I’ve been on EBG when we’ve been significantly outnumbered by both other servers and we still don’t get outnumbered buff.

Anets company policy about building new reward paths seems to be that it must been based on grind, not as rewards. They’ve been that way since ascended items were first introduced. It may be due to the game being b2p that its the only way they know how to try and keep players in game for extended periods.

Many of the new elites have a heavy condi element.

Condi duration is obvoiusly good but I’m unsure exactly how much it will change the meta because duration has always been offset by cleanses.

You could be right, but I guess I should have said “of the ones I’ve seen from the WP stream” cause the descriptions of each spec in the trailer was frustratingly vague. And when I hear the name “Firebrand”, I think somekind of damage or aggressiveness.

Yes thats why I personally think firebrand is a poor name for it, but according to the leaks it will be support oriented. The other mooted name for it, Purifier, would have been more fitting.

If the competitive feature pack was the big release package for that mode, it doesnt seem very substantial or big to me at least. Maybe its this slow realization that WvW , the only reason I stay with this game is just not going to get any major updates anytime soon. And if that “major” update is a feature only update and not content, it seems really lackluster.

I personally don’t think spvp and wvw updates should be part of and tied to expansions. They should both have their own teams working on updates to the 2 modes continuously, not part of an xpac team.

Having said that yes the feature update was extremely thin and IMO shows that anet have pretty much put both competitive modes into essentially maintenance mode with no further big upgrades to come.

Hmm as I mentioned before the perma-ban seems a little excessive and sudden. Why not go for 6 months to a years time. Even more high profile competitive games do this. Furthermore, if Anet wants to fix the scene they need to actually start dealing with some of the complaints that have been around since forever.

I read an article where an espurts player on Overwatch got banned simply because he was using vulgar language on stream. It wasn’t even sPvP manipulation or any other type of Tournament manipulation.

I applaud Anet for having the aptitude to say, “we’re not taking your kitten anymore.”, to an event that was heavily disrespected by these players. Same to Jebro who immediately replied to the investigation and banned these players from entering future prize winning tournaments.

The OW player was banned for deliberately throwing ranked matches on stream and encouraging others to do the same thing. He got a temp ban of 6 months or so.

Blizzard has straight up banned people for match-fixing. But here in GW2 world, it’s apparently worth getting dishonor for two weeks because the person can make alts and he will simply play other people’s account. Can’t blame them. It’s the only way to make money on this game and they couldn’t care less.

Pro players have been proven to be exploiting in pvp before and anet have done nothing even though if it was a lesser player they would have been banned.

So will there be an official announcement about glicko or will anet just expect players to trawl through the threads to find this info?
