You’re obviously legendary material if you made it there last season. The point difference isn’t that huge… I have a feeling it was an intense match that didn’t end favorably, it’s okay.

Do you want to steamroll noobs or fight players on par with you? You’re fighting other legendary players… Expect your games to not be easy, but hopefully fun.

I think they did that because PT is pretty powerful. It’s a 5 second CD teleport that also allows your next several attacks to be unblockable. If used right it’s a powerful skill. It’s not meant to be used with no thought

If our utility’s cool downs weren’t ridiculously high, I think we would be a lot stronger. Consecrations, meditations, shouts, etc. should have a 36 second CD max… Just look at other professions and their access to their needed utilitys

The meta medi trapper build does have access to all of those things. This is the thing though. All of those things sound nice until you try to play Guardian competitively. There’s a reason Guardian wasn’t used by more than one PvP league team (correct me if I’m wrong please).

You have to actually play Guardian and try to be the best with it to understand how much of an uphill battle we fight.

The guy you mentioned (not sure who Arken is) could have very well done that, but was it against high level opponents?

No one should be using outdated shelter or staff in sPvP. Berserker’s amulet does not work on Guardian.

I feel like we won’t get major changes until expansion 2 drops. It seems they’re working hard on it though… Sucks how long it takes for them to drop story updates. And they’re so freaking short!

I’d say go for it. Keep character model limit on low and you’ll love this game. I wouldn’t run it past low on even a GTX 980ti.

I bought a g-sync monitor yesterday, the PG279Q. During loading screens my screen will experience weird screen tearing for a second or so. Once the game loads I do not experience any type of tearing. I heard somewhere that some games experience weird issues with their loading screens when g-sync is enabled. Is it normal with GW2?

Also, I noticed my monitor suffers from back light bleeding. Should I return my monitor for another one? When I’m watching a video and there is a black border on the sides I notice it on the left side of my monitor. I’ve heard that a lot of panels suffer from back light bleeding, and it’s like a lottery to get a monitor without back light bleed.

I’ve played Guardian close to 4,000 hours. I have 3.3k hours on my main, and over the years I made alt Guardians to play around with in PvP. You can trust me when I say guardian traps are not over the top in a real, hardcore PvP match.

You need a better example then. That’s not a good depiction of it for PvP.

What are you trying to demonstrate here? A staff elementalist can do that, lol. Doesn’t mean it will work in a real PvP situation :P

I understand this completely. This is why I also am asking for the reduction of mesmer, revenant, elementalist, and druid sustain. Playing each of these classes I realized guardian isn’t weak because of damage, it is weak because of a lack of rotatable defenses, and healing capabilities. The classes I listed have healing, damage mitigation, and stab ability along with stun breaks and passives to boot. While it is true I wan’t to see a reduction in guardian trapping ability I want to see an increase in guardian weapon damage and a decrease in healing for all of these other classes.

I think one of the issues AN created over time was introducing too many stat combinations. Balancing traits/weapon skills/utilities/heals/elites against amulets is proving to be too hard to do. Maybe even impossible.

In PvE and WvW diversity is probably a good thing, because it makes the content enjoyable in different ways, but in PvP it’s a whole other story.

What do you consider pretty well? If you’re running the zeal line it sounds like you’re not using DH. So, you’re old school medi? But then it sounds like you use traps.

Let’s hope they fix spirit weapons… shouts… that one useless meditation… under performing Guardian elites in PvP… Core Guardian traits that are terrible… Let’s hope. And hope. And hope… For all eternity…

The State of DH would be appropriate as that is where the conversation led us. But ultimately, anything you want to express concerning this thread.

DH is in a pitiful state. I can only stay in melee range for about 5 seconds, then the other 4 seconds are spent waiting for weapon swap’s CD to finish, so I can go back to ranging. Now, that may not be true for every situation, but you get the idea.

DH relies on range too much. Give us a trait like Assassin’s Annihilation, and maybe, just maybe, we might be able to do more in melee range. I’ve moved from hating having to kite everyone, to just accepting it.

ToF and LB #2 were/are the highlights of DH. They gave us awesome damage, and added to our ability to kite and be good at it. Sadly DH focuses too much on range. For instance, there’s a trait that gives 13% bonus damage at 600-1200 range (I believe) and 7% extra damage at 0-600 range. Why not make it 13% baseline? Well, because they want us to range!

I do decently in duels against other professions, but I feel like I have to work 2x as hard to achieve the same result as them. I can’t make mistakes or I die. I’ve gotten so good at not making a lot of mistakes that you probably wouldn’t even be able to tell, but when I do, it’s obvious. I wiiiiiiiiiiish I could kite a good Revenant. Holy Jesus Christ. Good Revenants eat me for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There have been games a Revenant will immediately switch to me and annihilate me, because I don’t have the proper CDs to ward him off.

Core Guardian has a poo load of USELESS traits, minor and major! Like, who came up with some of that trash? It’s irritating to now have a second build to be able to choose for PvP! If you run the wrong thing you’re a dead man.

I could complain about DH’s play style all day, but at the end of the day I love Guardian. I hope AN steps their game up and fixes it. Not simply improve DH, but fix Guardian!
