Anet claimed that thieves are strong due to their mobility and high dmg hence why they lack everything else. Then they make revs that do more dmg than most classes, have survival than most classes, have mobility of the thief (yes they don’t have sb5 but their chasing ability, which can be used for +1 as well, is way better imo) and have great team support. Oh and they slapped 6 sec revealed on 20 sec Cd on top of it. How do you even name actions from devs like this?

Lets also compare Jade Winds to Basilisk Venom.

Jade Winds – 3 sec. stun 5 targets

Basilisk Venom – 2 sec. stun 1 target

Oh and btw, that’s just 1 of 2 elite abilities Rev can carry, not to mention 2 heals.

Jade Winds which is a risky move due to the fact it eats whole energy bar. And i cant believe ppl still think 2 heals are op.. espesially when we look at Shiro which has no real healing skill but more a dps boost that can be reflected to heal yourself.

Rev sustain is just wild. It’s not about them having 2 heals. They have access to a mini version of Sigil of Blood that has a much lower CD, several evades, blocks, stun breaks, and blinding skills, and synergize crazily well with boons… all while doing great damage with sword 2 and 3, and creating great openings with well used staff 5s

- reduce duration of unrelenting assault’s evasion from 2s to 1s
- for the love of god increase the CD of phase traversal, an UNBLOCKABLE 1,2k range dmg dealing teleport every 5 (!) seconds is way too op
- increase CD of assassins annihilation, 300health regen every second is too strong imo

Ele:

- reduce healing in general, ridiculous that you can get healed from 100hp to full life in less than 5seconds

Warrior:

- needs a complete makeover, anet knows that anyway

Guard:

- imo fine as it is, highly depends on players skill level (what the main factor in pvp should be)

Engi:

- reduce the boon spam and the sustain on hammer attacks
- delete the “perfectly weighted” trait, 3second stab on a 5sec CD… no words for whoever invented that trait
- maybe (?) give healing turret another animation or a bit longer cast time so that its actually interruptible

Ranger:

- reduce range of search and rescue and let the pet only teleport the player, but not rez him (optional, but better for balance imo)

Necro:

- Chill needs to be a bit toned down since it highly affects your movement speed, your skills recharge slower AND it deals massive dmg

Thief:

- same as guard, still not top tier but not complete trash like warrior

Mesmer:

- nerf shield #4, why the heck would you give this skill a double block
- increase CD of continuum split to 120secs

Thoughts?

Revenant staff 5 needs to be adjusted. It should either not serve as an evade, have a longer cooldown or energy cost, or not be a CC. It wrecks guardians

I hope to see:
• “Sustain” across the board balanced
• CC and evades toned down
• Amulets that have proven to be too tanky removed
• More class representation (fix warriors)
• Foefire lord either buffed or reward less points
• New runes added that address key profession problems
• Profession weapons rebalanced
• Balance updates that actually occur during a season

GW2 professions were meant to be able to “hold their own” in their own special way. There’s a reason the game was created without a trinity… Now, fix professions that basically fit “healer” and “tank” roles in PvP

I don’t have any other geared professions, but I do have an 80 necro (that I use for crafting), and tons of tomes of knowledge.

All of my guardian’s armor is ascended or legendary (I have a berserker and marauder set).

Also, can I immediately do Heart & Mind, or do I have to do the complete HoT story with this alt to get the rewards?

I’m surprised you already have legendary armor, you must be a hardcore raider.

I wanted to just chime in here and make some things clear as they may not be clear.

The “Year of The Ascension” achievement do not reset/clear between seasons. Whatever progress you have carries over to the next season.

If you can’t/don’t get the legendary if a specific year then there will be another way to obtain that specific backpack. I can’t go into any details on that, but you WILL be able to get previous years backpacks in some way.

We also understand the frustration of players and matchmaking this season and will do our best to make some changes for Season 3.

Guardian/DH needs an overhaul…

and WvW =/= PvP… game modes are too different because of available gear, etc.

It’s difficult to deal with a power based rev in either game mode. One good staff 5 will obliterate a dh. It does 3.3k (base) damage with marauders. Rev sustain is also ridiculous. What I’m trying to say is revenant has the upper hand against us.

Thankfully most of them use sw/sh & staff, so you can kite them while shiro teleport is down. Make sure you have sigil of blood on longbow or your melee weapon (or like me, both).

In a 1v1
Use f1 and lb 3 to interrupt their staff 3 & shield 5. Watch out for their glint utility blind and staff 3 blind. Make sure you dodge sword 2 and 3. You can use f3 to block all of sword 3s hits, but to do so you have to keep turning your screen clockwise or counterclockwise so you keep up with their teleporting position. Keep in mind that revenants sometimes use the taunt on cc trait, so your first cc on them will cause you to become taunted. Use smite condition or JI to remove it from yourself and kite them using longbow. Only when you have a trap or f3 off cd would I recommend fighting them head on with a melee weapon. Don’t waste a trap on them while they’re not capable of being put in a “good daze”. Honestly you have to kite them to death. Do not hit them while they’re healing with glint.

In a team fight
A rev coupled with other professions is a nightmare to go against. Keep your distance and make sure to use most of your skills defensively. If you get locked down by a rev you’re going to burn your cds frantically. Consistently kite and hope that your team helps you focus the rev down…

This is extremely disconcerting. If you & Anet as a whole consider HoT a full expansion I’m afraid you’re out of touch with your players. This a red flag for GW2 future development & explains a lot about what has been happening.

They did put in a lot of work to create the expansion, but the amount of content that was released is not what was expected of ANet

Pay attention to when they use longbow 3 and f1. Most mesmers I beat don’t watch for them. Both skills are unblockable and can potentially be used to CC you.

Time your dazes well. Try your best to interrupt the trap heal and put it on a 4 second cd. If you haven’t seen the dh use ToF yet, watch for it. It’ll kill all your clones. Don’t get in melee range recklessly. As long as your condi pressure is there it should be an even match. You won’t necessarily blow up a dh in a proper 1v1

I think the reason some people say this was a “half-expansion” is because of how easy it was to burn through the content. I think ANet needs to increase its work force… or sell more items through the gem store to raise more revenue. Something really doesn’t seem “right” with the way things have been going. I’ve seen ANet have to change the path they’re taking too much… there’s never enough people to go around it seems

It’s normal to want to revert. What you have to do is give yourself time to adjust. Don’t do ranked matches until you feel comfortable. I’d say to give yourself a week or two to transition. MMO mouses (yes, it’s mouses xD) work well with GW2.

When I keyboard turned in WoW I had to just tell myself I would deal with being “worse” for the short term to be “better” in the long term. It paid off

Thanks for the reply OP. I think ANet needs to make our MMR visible to us. I don’t understand why they keep it hidden. I thought our division would give us a good idea of where we stand, but maybe it doesn’t to the degree I thought it did.

I think the next step someone in the community should take is record games they play on a fresh or alt account, so we can analyze them, their teammates, and the overall gameplay

Doing it all while having mobility and pumping out THAT much damage is broken.

While in Glint stance they can have “perma swiftness”, or use Impossible Odds while in Shiro stance and immediately switch to Glint for a refill on upkeep, though
