ANet isn’t going to do a a dang thing. Looking at their history of PvP changes/updates, all I can see them doing is throwing us a pitiful balance update. It’s like they don’t know how to change skills, traits, runes and sigils internally… The sad part is people don’t enjoy PvP enough to want to just do PvP. ANet should look into why that is. Rewards definitely NEED to be a thing PvP offers at a good pace, but it shouldn’t be someone’s whole purpose for PvPing. People don’t PvP because the population is so god dang small that MM can’t do its job properly.

Hell to the no, no. Or at least create a team queue (5 man) & have a separate solo queue

We need a complete profession overhaul, better rewards & better marketing/advertising so this game gets more players.

It’s easier said than done, but I feel like ANet is really screwing themselves over in the longterm. I’m tired of getting “close games” due to the fact I have people with 1,200 MMR on my team

A buddy of mine feels the same way as you. He told me he feels strong at the beginning of a fight, but towards the end of a fight or moving on to another one, he feels extremely vulenerable because the lack of available CDs. IMO it’s all about making sure you know when to engage and disengage. To make a strong impact in a match means carrying team fights IMO

What do you think of shield vs. focus?

Everyone says shield is good and it may be if guardian never has to 1v1. I personally always run focus with lb because you’re always going to be 1v1ing in this meta. The instant block is very good for a pseudo stun-breaker as well as allowing trade damage that favors you. Using shield is more offensive but imo forces you to use cds at inopportune times just for a knock back. I think cd management is the most important thing for guardians and therefore run focus.

I demonstrate how to survive a stealth opener burst combo from a Mesmer & Thief. I’ve faced the Mesmer a couple of times and I think he’s good at what he does.

It’s going to be so freaking easy to get on the NA leaderboard this season lol, due to:

• The population
• Needing to have X amount of games played before the season ends to be on the leaderboard

Have escape clear stuns, cripple & chill

I can already see the return of Revs

The only good thing about this season is that it started off with a requirement of a minimum # of games played to be on the leaderboard

Hell yeah it does. #2 needs to be un-nerfed. In PvE, LB should be the choice for ranged burst & scepter for sustained dps + symbol support… #2 should be castable while moving.

You’re really dumb. xD Sigil of Escape is perfectly fine as it is, giving a bonus with a successful use breaks it.

Condition duration sigils are great, something in there is useful for everyone.

Sigil of Nullification has an 18 second cooldown so you cannot have one on each weapon set and constantly remove two boons every 10 seconds.

Sigil of Agility, pick one or the other, Super Speed or 3 seconds of Quickness, and that seems fair.

You really think people will use the proposed sigil of agility?? You really think some of these sigils are good?? Two boons in 10 seconds is a bad thing?? C’mon man. You may just be the dumb one

I’ve never seen a reveal put someone back in stealth once it ends

Well then it would have no point to have a duration on it would it?

A weapon swap should not be able to completely negate say an Engis Gyro Copter, or a full cooldown like thief’s Blinding Powder.

I imagine if it has a 1/4 duration that it acts like spies in tf2 where if they bump into your they are temp revealed.

I just want clarification if it also applies the Revealed debuff. Especially when it has no counter play.

It does have a point. You can use it before they stealth/think of stealthing & negate a possible stealth or cause them to rethink what they’re about to do

On hit: transfer a Condition to your foe.

ANet is being aggressive but over optimistic. Sustain would have to be nerfed A LOT to compensate for air/fire/blood loss

Going to try to make it in the top 100 again. All I do is solo queue, so I’m not sure if top 25 will be possible. I will still try though.

I will also try to help guildies with their PvP matches and see if I can help them grow.

What lessons did you learn from last season about the placement matches and how will you apply those lessons during Season 6?

I learned that getting to the top of the leaderboard is hard. MM is terrible because the player pool is small and player skill widely varies. You have to be good at so many things to be solid in conquest. I learned that playing “Meditrapper” instead of my weird scepter/sword build will help carry my team a lot harder. Placement matches… Idc about them. I can win them or lose them… I know they won’t hold me back. What I’m more concerned about is consistently getting equal matches. I don’t want to go against two duo queues with a team of full solos. That part of MM ANet can control but won’t…

What skill rating is good enough for you? It’s extremely unlikely to end up in Legendary, so is Platinum the “I made it” league? How do you feel about Gold?

Anything off of the leaderboard is unacceptable to me. I am a casual, but I love competing. Like I mentioned earlier, I want to be at least in the top 100. Platinum is not the “I made it” league to me. Legendary is. It’s harder to hit it in NA because the population is small.
