It is misleading because Cores are not salvageable, rather a salvagable item can drop cores.
You cannot salvage a core to get something else, which your thread title suggests.
Get the list of daily bonus chests and do each of those events each 24 hour period. You will get guaranteed rare (or better) items that you can sell or convert to ectos/rune/sigils and you’ll get the fun of doing things with the community on your server.
Personally, I have to organize the Fire Shaman runs because no one even seems to know about him.
I have gone from angry to simply laughing at how poorly this system works I mean seriously for a skin that isn’t tradable and takes absolutly zero skill to obtain…and to make it so hard to get..haha good game I guess what a waste of my time.
You will always, without fail, make more money selling tickets than you ever will selling the prize.
ArenaNet is funding this game by selling tickets and it is working. Even you admitted that you bought tickets, so the system is not only working, it is working flawlessly.
Sorry about your bad luck. I also have not gotten any skins or wings, but I’m not buying tickets for them.
So basically with torment on your only option is:
Melee: immobilize the enemy and teleport / rushing / leaping via skills to it
Ranged: Hit from the distance of course. In both ways we should consider a few things before allarming:
- Would evading count as movement or is just WASD?
- Will this Torment last only a few seconds? If above are true, maybe is acceptable, because it should be meant to limit your options, not to make you a standing target :/
It is meant to force people to stand and fight, which is intended to help Necros. Thieves and Mesmers will hopefully only have very limited access to this condition while Necros get decent uptime with it.
Question for everyone, would you be more or less angry if they added Jade weapon skins to the gem store at the end of the event (July 9th) without announcing that they were going to do that ahead of time?
Probably more, since that would more or less kitten over everyone that bought the boxes.
Right, which puts them in a difficult position to “fix” things now. The people who are angry would just be more angry while the people who are happy would either be more happy or no change.
Really though, they should have put the skins in the taffy vendor list. That way you can win the RNG gamble or save up taffy and buy them.

The ones I’ve received have all been envelope style ones so far.
How many messages do you currently have in your inbox? You are limited to 10 envelope style messages (hearts and dungeons don’t count).
It appears that any search I enter that contains more than 3 characters returns “0 results found”. Anything with less than 3 characters just shows me the forum thread list (i.e. it doesn’t actually search anything).
Most of the world bosses are in level 1-15 areas and are designed to give new players their first taste of a big boss battle. Rather than increase the difficulty so that the new guys can’t win, how about we fix the downscaling so the 80s can’t blow through them in 30 seconds? For the later level bosses, I agree with you, they should be harder and meaner. Most of them can be done by standing off to the side which is not challenging.
Here is my suggesting for your first foray into raid design:
Take an existing dungeon and redesign it so that all 3 paths must be completed at the same time.
For example, upon entering the dungeon the raid splits up because completing checkpoint A in path 1 opens the door to advance in path 2, while killing the boss in path 2 opens the door to advance in path 3. Additionally, path 2 players can help path 3 players in mini boss fight X by activating environment nodes on their path during the fight (which they can see below them, for example). Finally, all three groups meet up at the final boss where they need to take turns cycling into the fray, out of the fray, and running some environment nodes. It would help the level design to make one of the paths reward ranged players, one of the paths reward melee players, and one of the paths reward support players, and the final boss rewarding all three types.
This would be a relatively simple raid (a starter raid) that would allow new players to get the hang of teamwork timing and would also give experienced players something new to do while you build some full scale raids.
You guys know that there are still 3 weeks left, right?
I kind of feel like you guys are buying lotto tickets and complaining about the odds before the drawing even happens.
