Feedback Thread: Say goodbye to Armor Repairs?

Reducing the gold drop from Champions and Events will not help new and casual players.

What the game needs is a way for new and non-hardcore players to make enough gold to get around in the game and get some of the stuff they want. 90% of the gold I have was made during Queen’s Gauntlet and Scarlet’s first invasions, and it’s really not much still, and I don’t spend much (don’t own a single set of exotic armor).

I’m glad repair costs are being removed, removing waypoint costs would be awesome as well.

They maybe want to implement a system where you can get better loot instead?
Otherwise, the update isn’t anything, big, just a casual update notes alongside the big changes.

I understand that acc-bound ascendeds are somewhat helpful when you want to retire a character and start a new one, assuming the weight class/weapon type and stats are compatible.
But it doesn’t help people like me, who like to switch between characters, playing most of their characters for a little while, every single day.

Why won’t it help? Let me quote myself from the CDI:

Three problems:
a) my mesmer wears zerk with damage runes, my ele wears soldier’s with boon duration runes and my necromancer likes rabid with condition damage. How are they supposed to share an armor set?
Same with my adventurers (zerk, knight’s and cleric’s) and my heavys (knight’s and cleric’s). With my character setup, not a single set would be shareable.
b) even if the attributes and runes work for multiple characters, skins and dyes probably don’t. What happens when you transmute a cultural armor skin onto it?
c) Having to visit the bank before and after switching characters cannot by any means be called a fun game mechanic.

So while this is probably just a click of a checkbox to implement, it’s not going to help.

Which means that I cannot share a single piece. I’m still looking at a total of ~2500 gold for the damask alone, plus 850 dungeon runs for the empyreal fragments, etc etc.

Worse yet, it appears that ANet has decided on a “solution” and is now done with the topic, so I – and those like me – can now abandon all hope for something that we could actually call an “alt friendly” solution, a system that honors the promise of the GW2 manifesto:

We just don’t want players to grind in Guild Wars 2. No one enjoys that, no one finds it fun.

sigh I don’t want to abandon the game, but the burden of grind is no longer bearable. Mostly, even if I went through with it all, there will inevitably be a higher level cap or new item tier someday, and then I’d have to do it all over again – 8 times. That’s not healthy. That’s not fun.

Wait they are making a changing and you are telling them it is not right cause you are assuming they will add item tiers?

1. Wait for information before crying
3. This isn’t the first MMO to do this, 90% of MMOs release new content that somehow hurts the old one

No offense, but I’ve never played a MMO that has done something like this before. Let alone intentionally. The only game that comes close is when The Secret World had an unintentional glitch that made narrow distressed jeans (a cash shop item) clip through your calves horribly. It was unintentional, and it took months to fix. But I was ok with that. That was an accident.

This, not so much. If they told me this was a temporary solution, and that we would at least return to the functionality that we have now, in the relatively close future, then I actually would be more or less OK with their Town Clothing changes.

im curious why you have cut off half of what this person actually says it actually says

nGumball.1283:
1. Wait for information before crying
2. Stop acting biffy going ‘’Anet either gotta change the system or refund’’ cause they aren’t entitled to do any kind of refunds, you can rage, cry and leave the game. Wether it is fair or not, that’s the only thing you can do, you can’t force them to do anything
3. This isn’t the first MMO to do this, 90% of MMOs release new content that somehow hurts the old one
Sadly, large portion of the community have comments, too kitteny, not getting the simple idea that MMOs change.

im just asking why cut the majority of this quote off ???

I was responding to point 3 specifically; I thought I cut out point 1 too. Must be tired :P
It also just saves space not quoting someone entirely, and it’s easy enough to find their original, full, post.

WoW is offering an instant level 90 with full-gear, meaning that what people worked for, for possibly years in the old system, is now totally useless and everyone can get it for some dollars. WoW is run by the world’s biggest gaming company and is still the most successful MMO in history.

Am I missing something here? Is there a gold fee attached as well? I think most players have well over 100 stones in storage and many crystals as well. Is the gripe about having to use another skin to transmute to?

It boils down to lv79 and below characters having to spend the same amount of charges as a lv80. As a result, people who were wanting to use those stones will effectively loose two thirds of them. The cost to switch their gear will be tripled.

kitten straight they lose transforms. This whole system needs more work and the cost of the transmutation items to charges should have been:

  • 1 Transmutation Stone = 1 charge (no left over stones this way)
  • 1 Transmutation Crystal = 3 charges
  • 1 Transmutation Splitter = 5 charges

Realistically they should not have even considered trans-charges to change your look. It’s just as limiting as the old system. It would have been better to have paid for unlocking a skin with charges for it to become universal, if payment was needed at all (which comes off greedy on anets part).

Games like DCUO have the ability to unlock an item’s look when you first find it and equip it, then you can change ANY other item to the same look for free as often as you want, including coloring it too of course. THAT is a Fantastic costume system right there.

DCUO Manages to make money in their cash shop selling skins/toys and other things without being a p2w and still player friendly/

Games are about the full package though and companies have different models. If you think DCUO’s costume system is amazing to the point of ranking the enitre game above GW2, and start playing DCUO as your main game, GW2 isn’t really p2p or something.

Otherwise, I am liking the changes and appreciate Anet’s changes. We are going into the right direction, now let’s just keep the good work and we will see huge improvments.

1. It is not profitable for the company. The game is based on skins and as most of those are actually obtainable outside the gemstore, the company have to make money somehow.

That’s not what I or most of the others who have advocated this are proposing. Transmutation charges, from the gemstore, would still be needed in addition to getting the actual skins from loot/TP/etc. Thus, “pay to unlock.” As many others have argued before me (go back and read previous posts if I’m not convincing enough) this could still be hugely profitable, and potentially MORE profitable than “pay to change,” because more people would be willing to buy gems for trans. charges if they could unlock skins permanently, whereas if one has to pay every time they change, they are less likely to ever change after they settle on one look they like, depriving ANet of potential revenue.

2. How easy it will become may create boredom. Yes, people will be happy at first, but making content easier to get, make it unrewarding. The game is hugely based on skins, many people already own most, giving those people a reason to play more in case they want to re-costumize is a way of making it more challenging.

While it’s theoretically possible to make enough gold to convert into gems for this purpose, the exchange rate is prohibitive, and most people who want gemstore stuff just use real money. There’s no “challenge” there, and it wouldn’t make many people I know play more.

1. If you actually believe that Anet is going for a worse option to get less money because they are idiots, you should re-think it. If they chose this, it means, they have predicted they will get more profit and as mentioned, I believe in a company full of professional people than players giving economic lessons to the company, cause even if the company is trash, they probably know how to make most money.

2. No announcement there about the charges only being obtainable from the store. You are just assuming.

Resistance is futile , you will be assimilated.

When some toys/clothes had special skills giving you speed and people started to abuse them in WvW, people said that Anet will never respond and they will never support the company again because they are trash who only seek money.

The feature got quickly modified and not a single appreciation thread was opened. You know why? because people believe in the philosophy: I paid 50 dollars, the company is trash if they do anything against my will and they aren’t doing me a favor if they do anything good, because the game is about me, YES ME’’.

You are basically asking to delete whispiring since according to your solution, people can’t whisper you if you haven’t whispered them first, meaning, that neither you or them will be able to whisper anyone but added on their friendlist.

Basically meaning that whispiring is gonna be an option for the 20 people on your friend-list, deleting it otherwise from the game.

It is one of two paths, either Anet make small changes over-time to tweak the game mechanics or people have to be silent from now on and stop asking for balances since it is impossible for the company to re-create everything and relese at once.

No offense but most people ask companies for innovation yet they punish them for any mistake. People, simliarly, ask them for changes and starting coming with complaints before the release of the patch.

If anyone want evolved builds, they gotta have patience and watch the updates instead of judging a build the whole combat system or even the whole game based on a single update.

The new transmutation system is not really different than the old system. People who weren’t buying transmutation stones/crystals before are not going to start buying them in the new system.

Yup. If I were unlocking skins with the stones, I’d buy more. but I’m not gonna pay gold or Gems just to use the friggen things.

I hope you’re reading this, GMs. Please take this into consideration and please reply to this thread! I think there’s enough of us making this recommendation/complaint that we should be addressed somehow.

Let me also say, because it isn’t being said enough amongst all the complaints, that the April feature pack looks AWESOME. I still hold that you really really really should make the wardrobe system pay to unlock, not pay to change, but regardless, all the changes you definitely are making according to your blog post look great.

Your game is amazing and the fact that you are making cool changes is amazing. Now please hear your player base and make the wardrobe a TRUE wardrobe.

Everyone would love it that way however there are 2 downsides:
1. It is not profitable for the company. The game is based on skins and as most of those are actually obtainable outside the gemstore, the company have to make money somehow.
2. How easy it will become may create boredom. Yes, people will be happy at first, but making content easier to get, make it unrewarding. Also, which MMO’s have the system you describe? I’ve not come across it myself but I’d be interested to check it out.

To add a couple of old ones to the list, Perfect World and Jade Dynasty, both over 5 years old, have a “fashion stash” of sorts. I think the former even calls it a wardrobe. Both allow switching looks on the fly with hotkeys and that includes in battle. That said, getting those items in those gates is a bit closer to gw2. They’re usually in the cash shop.

These games are gear-based ones like all the others getting mentioned. They are free to play btw, if you really like them, stop playing GW2, delete it and enjoy your time otherwise. I don’t get the point behind playing a game you hate while ’’masterpieces’’ like Pefect World are out there.

If the issues are simply clipping, I say let people do it anyway. As many people have pointed out, there are already clipping issues. People can preview items and decide if they don’t like the clipping or can deal with it.

It’s more than just clipping. He makes it sound like there’s large holes in the model or a graphics issue just as bad if they’re combined.

3d models are basically groups of connecting geometric planes. The seam is where one row of planes connects with another. If two seams don’t meet correctly, you can end up with overlapping planes (clipping) or even empty space.

This is fixable, they just have to go all the way back to the basic mesh and rework it to have seams in the correct spots, which would probably break the animations (so then they would have to deal with that). It would be quite a bit of work, still, the dev post above really is blowing it out of proportions in my opinion, and it is worth the effort.

And there are only eight such costume sets, it wouldn’t take three months even if they only assigned one guy to it.

You can start a company and compete in the market with GW2. You seem to know more about games than Anet and Blizzard.

There doesn’t have to be a downside. And for the 100th time stat swapping is not worth 2500g it is the skin we bought and now everyone with 1 legendary is being given a extra 2500g skin.

Please stop this. You wouldn’t buy this skin alone for 2,5k. It’s the combination of all the things that make a legendary a legendary. If it really is just a skin, then I suppose Anet could just make them all exotics or ascended, make the skins 100% cosmetic and nobody would complain.
No? Then stop telling those who point out one of the advantages a legendary has to shut up. It’s just as valid an argument as “I put a lot of time and effort into making a second X legendary, I feel cheated”.

It is also a valid argument that games change and if everything is to be connected to what players have done, the game will _never _ evolve.

The game can evolve just fine without making dual legendaries useless.

They aren’t useless, you still got the stats and the capability to change. It is not about yours becoming useless but the fact that you don’t want others to get them easier.

The audience liking the changes is the majority, I don’t see them going back with the system. Some compensations maybe given and it would be more fair that way, otherwise, all that ‘’I want my money’’ comments, come after every single patch, in every single MMO.

You know a game is doing bad when it is the fastest selling MMO in history being the most commercially successful MMO isn’t 2004’s WoW. Also, if you actually are a playing a game that you dislike, not accepting old content because you want new however you won’t accept that either because it should have been implemented from the start then you may as well change game.

It is argueable an expansion would work if it got releaed quickly because alot of GW2’s mechancis are purely experiemntal and it takes time to see the actual good and bad stuffs regarding them.

ArenaNet is starting with actual updates now and tbh thinking with the idelogy ‘’this should have been there before’’ is a bit discouraging as it is a bit, meh. WoW took a long time before it started to get stable and if GW2 actually follows that path, seeking for that stable state, it would hopefully do amazing in the future.

Tbh I don’t have any doubt regarding ArenaNet’s capability of releasing top notch content. I am more worried that they decide on another path that generates more money, well, sacraficing the quality part. Anet seem to be a high quality content company if they want to and the worrysome thing if they + NcSoft decide on another path for the game.

Otherwise, I am confident things will go to the better, if as stated, Anet’s goal was from the start to experiment and do actual improvments, not doing dodgy strategies for profit.

Feedback/Questions: The Wardrobe System

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: nGumball.1283

nGumball.1283

The problem is that this isn’t a wardrobe. A wardrobe is a collection of clothes that you can pick and choose and use at any time because it’s yours.

This is a unlockable skin store.

You work, grind, and put effort in to collect skin. You pay real cash for, or convert gold to gems to buy skins on the TP. Either way, you can now earn the right to pay again to use something that you’ve unlocked..

This needs to be repeated over & over. This is my entire problem with this new system. They added cool stuff by making things account bound (it’s essentially going back to the GW1 costume account bound stuff) & saving bank space, then they ruin it by keeping the crappy “pay to use” system. I want to be able to swap at any time to any look for free. I’d pay to unlock each skin but just to swap to it? eff that. So far this will just open bank space for me & nothing else. I’m not going to pay to be swapping all the time even though that would be the whole fun of a wardrobe system. Unlocking 100 skins & just having them sit in the UI because I have to pay to use them is not the point of a wardrobe.

just gonna +1 this, completly agree

The game is dependent on skins, it is not your usual gear focused game where skins are nothing but one more lame feature. The payment is there to make it a challenge anyhow to change your looks.

Not only is it good for the company because this is actually a job and they want money but also it is highly argueable if the system becomes better if it is totally free to use. Yea, you will be happy jumping around now, however, easy content, never work and people eventually lose total interest because they don’t feel rewarded.

This way, collecting the skin and actually using it, feel more of an accomplishment eventhough it is only cosmetic, but hey, this is the point of gw2 to be cosmetic.

The new changes to town clothes are the like the following:
1. they will be converted into outfits as in a one piece look you have on your gear
2. those can be used in combat

Positives:
Now, you can wear the clothes, using them in more situations for better use of them.
Negatives:
For a reason or another, the system where town clothes could be mixed and matched is gone since town clothes are considered as one piece outfits atm. The only thing announced to be viable doing is opo up or off your ’’hat’’, coming with the outfit.

Oh my, you are really good with finding typos. If you are this good, you should probably read it to understand that forcing Anet into refunds isn’t a legal option.

Otherwise, if you really think games should not eveolve because some want those old features, then you have to try checking Wiki too, you will find some informative pages about MMOs.

I didn’t see anyone saying they would force ANet to refund. It’s a request, if they wouldn’t have refunded I would have moved on, and just take a different position on supporting the gemstore. Forcing would be if we went there threatening we would destroy their office or something like that. And I’m okay with evolution but this (not being able to put together town clothes the way you want) is definitely a step backwards, not forwards. Which I would call “devolution”.

And you still didn’t answer what you meant by the word “ignorant”.

Devolution according to you. You have no information why the company took this step, what the reasons about the changes are neither any full statement that could explain the system for us. So far, the system is behind the closed doors and Anet stated they are listening to this feedback. Yet, you talk about ignorance?

Whena person only can see their own desires as something above everything else, that’s when you become ignorant. When people aren’t educated regarding the systems of MMOs yet complain and threaten, that’s when they are ignorant. When people come with valueable statements about the game, coming from some place none, ever heared of, that’s when you see arrogance.

Because I know alot of ignorant people who compare making dyes account bound to the capability of paying your way to max level with full gear. GW2 community is consisted of different bases and each one are ignorant about their own.

‘’Town clothing is why I play’‘. ’’Oh no, legendary is why I play’’. ‘’No no, I play because I am waiting for Titan that will come in 20 years, kitten Anet and GW2’’.

Also, I care about this place more than uneducated people not knwing anything about the MMO industry, believing that games should never evolve becasue they are happy with the way they are.

One more thing, read the EOLA before talking about ‘’Anet must refund’’.

I really don’t want to go off-topic here but educated people know it’s an EULA and I’m actually wondering if you know what the word ‘ignorant’ means. Because it makes no sense in that context.

Oh my, you are really good with finding typos. If you are this good, you should probably read it to understand that forcing Anet into refunds isn’t a legal option.

Otherwise, if you really think games should not eveolve because some want those old features, then you have to try checking Wiki too, you will find some informative pages about MMOs.

eula isnt really legally binding in most states anyhow. Its gives them more of a case, but at the end of the day its up the judge to decide. Anyhow legal isnt so important in this case, its more about satisfying customers, satisfied customers spend more, they majority of people who actually invested in town clothes, are the type of customers anet likes, they spend money often for things they feel is worthwhile. Its a bad idea to alienate a user base that regularly supports you, satisfying them is more profitable in the long run.

These people probably wont sue, but they may stop buying anything/leave the game. Since a lot of these guys are repeat buyers spending consistent money, thats a pretty bad thing for anet.

And?

MMOs are like that, I don’t fancy the fact people love blaming Anet for everything. 99% of the MMOs go forward hurting old content. WoW made leveling to 90 buyable where you get a full gearset.

No it IS pay to not grind. I was fine with the cash shop at the beggining, becuase gold gave you no stat advantage, running dungeons gave you exiotic gear in a very respecatable amount of time to discard worries that being able buy gold with real money to buy full exiotic gear was a problem.

However with ascended gear the grind for a person starting with no gold is…. absolutely immense, its a freaking mountain to climb compared to the hill that exiotic gear was.

Thats when the real money to gems conversion became Pay to Not Grind.

I will never EVER obtain a full set of ascended gear simply by doing things I like (End game dungeons / SPvP ) , my chances of winning the powerball are higher.

There are two ways to get ascended gear.

1. Pay real money
2. Spend HUNDREDS of hours in a champ train praying to god almighty i get decent drops, and maybe lightning could strike twice and a precursor could drop.

so… pay real money… or spend hundreds of hours doing something I’d rather not do. That’s not playing the game that’s grinding and you know it.

That’s how MMOs are though. The only option is to make the gear obtainable using different methods though all will end up being time-consuming, being considered grind.

Yes but they dont allow people to simply buy that gratification. I wouldn’t mind riding the champ train if I knew everyone else had to.

As sad as this sounds, 1 hour of minimum wage = 50-75 gold

And when that 50-75g can buy me a stat advantage over people who are having to spend 100+ hours in game, that’s a problem.

Gear should be obtained by overcoming challenging content in game, not by grinding or paying money…

Chellenging content gets casual after trying it few times, ending up in grinding again. There is nothing called challenging or fun content, it all turns to grind after trying it for once or twice, it is just an ilssuion, nothing more, nothing less.

Nothing gets taken away from you

What are you smoking? The answer is Time and Efforts. As simple as that.
And if you are not able to understand that, I won’t even bother to argue with you. Who cares if other people get awesome stuff like you got, but the stuff you worked so hard turned into such a huge waste of time that you won’t even need it ( stats change) just not worth it.

Losing that is normal though in MMOs.

The illusion of ‘’some threads are negative, people dislike the game’’ is, well, as stated an illusion. WoW have had that for 10 years.

Not saying, feedback shouldn’t be adressed but forums are usually negative since it is the place where people complain.

Exactly. Most of the negativity in a forum can usually be traced back to around 20-30 people.

That’s 20-30 people out of how many that play the game?

I’m in a referall dependant business and let me tell you….a disgruntled customer will tell 20 others that they hate you, while a pleased customer will tell no one.

Ncsofts 4th quarter financial statement says it’s more then 20-30 people.

They had a loss of 25% in IN GAME sales for that quarter.

Go look it up.

GW2 will die like how WoW died 10 years ago.

Feedback/Questions: The Wardrobe System

The new wardrobe appears to be an awesome step in the right direction. I love that my bank is now freed up and the skins I paid for will be saved, allowing me to put them on any character without the use of splitters. At first I was happy about this, but then I looked into it more.

I have mixed feelings about this because the wardrobe is still pay to change or grind for 20+ minutes to explore an area for a transmutation crystal/charge. I am curious as to why Anet came this far only to put a monetary price on changing the looks on our gear. I have already paid for armors, why should we continue to have to pay to change things up? Why can’t this just be unlimited?

Becuase you will have to enjoy your armor instead of changing it every 5 seconds. Making things too easy prove itself to be a failure of a model and people end up being un-statisfied.

I was very happy about the wardrobe. It was something I expected to be in the game since launch cuz Anet said you’d be collecting skins in this game but then I realized certain stuff that made it for ME go from a 10 to a 0 IF I’m right (please continue reading);

1. Weapons can’t be dyed. I really want certain weapons but I like my armor to stay in the colors I like and not change them. This means that I won’t be collecting weapons
2. Backpieces can’t be dyed. Same story as weapons.

Now this made made it for me drop only from a 10 to an 8 even though that would mean that 2/3 of the things I could collect I wouldn’t collect. Because the thing that I care most about is armor but then I found out about something;

3. As some if not all of you know the wall between PvP and PvE will be broken. Now what I thought this meant was that I could do PvP and get a dungeon armor like the heavy Armor of Koda and send it to pve or do for example the Honor of Waves dungeon and send the heavy Armor of Koda to PvP.

I have no interest whatsoever in doing PvP and I absolutely hate dungeons and especially in GW2. So basically this wall being broken meant nothing to me BUT someone told me that with gold that I could earn easily in PvE I could buy the skins from PvP and this would mean that the rumored (at that time) wardrobe would have a meaning to me cuz I could collect a ton of armor skins (which is something Ireally wanted to do in this game) cuz all that’s left for me besides dungeon armor is the Dark armor and Exalted armor.

Then yesterday the wardrobe gets confirmed and I get all happy of course but then after a while I started thinking about certain things. The whole thing about weapons and backpieces that can’t be dyed and the fact that this person told me about the gold thing and not Anet. So I decided to confirm what he said but couldn’t find anything about it except for the the thing I originally thought it meant; “I could do PvP and get a dungeon armor like the heavy Armor of Koda and send it to pve or do for example the Honor of Waves dungeon and send the heavy Armor of Koda to PvP”. Which meant that the wardrobe is equal to nothing (“from a 10 to a 0”) to me cuz I won’t do PvP nor dungeons to get the skins.

If there is anyone that can give me a link where it says that you can buy the dungeon PvP skins with gold then please do but if there isn’t something like this then I got happy for nothing and need to face the fact that there also won’t be anything for me to do in this game (things that I want to do) except for dailies and living story untill it bores me which will highly likely be sooner then later.

The fact that you can use PvP gear in Pve isn’t even confirmed.

Many of the comments here are really valueable though some posted based on pure anger, can’t even be taken seriously.

Some people are exaggerating to a laughable extent. Everyone can see the issue, stop using posts like omg, Anet isn’t r reading the thread or omg, Anet didn’t change it yet. Ofc they won’t change it yet and I doubt they will do before trying it in-game.

Also, according to the beautiful people here who say they are playing GW2 for town clothes, please leave, Sims is ther for you, instead of inaccurate facts about how half GW2 are playing because town clothing.

I wonder why you would be here if you don’t care

Dye Changes Feedback/Questions

I’m actually a believer that the dye market NEEDS to crash a bit.. like by 50%.. Keeping dyes as drops would accomplish this. I mean you can already see how bad unidentified dyes are exploding.

I also enjoy when dyes drop too. It’s super fun even when you get a lame color lol. Maybe keep them as drops but slightly adjust the drop rate so the combination of dyes still dropping plus the fact that people don’t need to buy multiples, might drive prices down from where they were (Unid dye was around 35s before this announcement.. anyone remember when they were 11s a piece?).

Nobody in the world needs to keep Abyss dye at 40-50 gold… Nobody… lol.

Dyes will drop in price again anyhow. Check the term economy and you will surely find some articles about it (this isn’t sarcasm). Prices will go up and down sometime soon though they won’t be as cheap as before.

Dye Changes Feedback/Questions

No, I think Shadow Blade is asking for some level of consistency in design philosophy. I think that’s a simple request.

That is exactly what i’m asking for, i think its absurd that we have core selling features of the game being removed or completely changed with no real feedback being taken. or explanations given.

There is an order to taking feedback and acting on it, generally you do this at a stage BEFORE the work is finalized and it can still make a difference not:

‘oh hay guys were completely changing this game feature in a few days /weeks hope your as excited as we are, not excited? your not a dedicated player then…’

look at the CDI threads, they are constantly asked what their long term design/ plans are so we can comment and give feedback at an early stage when it can make a difference and are told they wont talk about that, infact if you look the majority of the responses are comments on player comments and not thoughts on design or direction, just non committal responses lacking substance, at this point the cdi just looks like a PR spin exercise, and i seriously doubt anything of substance will come of it

In the last year progression in almost every area of the game has had at least one reset. In many cases with no compensation to the possible hundreds of hours players dedicated to it, in some cases changes have gone out as little as a few weeks after new releases. in cases such as these they quite obviously should have changed them before releasing them or put off releasing them to minimize disruption to players, but they didn’t so they could meet their deadline of new stuff every 2 weeks, even when they have taken longer to add polish etc its been a buggy mess as seen by the end of the living world season.

there is a fundamental disconnect between what they are saying and what they are doing.

“no grind, play the way you want”
grind everything, play what we tell you how we tell you when we tell you

Did you demand Valve give you your money back for TF2 when they made it free to play? I love the way many people on this forum get bent out of shape when something doesnt go 100% their way but when you benefit from a change, like the new wardrobe with a legendary, people are AMAZINGLY ok with it.

Your TF2 example is a bad one, most likely purposefully so. all they did was make it free, they didn’t fundamentally change it, if i had bought TF2 and they patched it to portal, then yes i would have demanded valve give me my money back.

In regards to legendaries, maybe you should look around a bit there are many people upset that people who made one legendary get to dual wield them like people who made two for that purpose with half the effort.

WoW made leveling to 90 + full gear-set buyable.
