Alot of the things that we see in-game today were player-suggested, taking the game forward wether to the better or the worse.
I have to agree.
When I just started the game, it was alot of fun to explore for the mere sake of seeing a new place or reading a new story-line. For a person, done with these first-impression reactions and even for those aren’t interested of the story, it is really hard to find a purpose to explore, because the rewards are far away from satisfying.
One this is certain, New York city is better than Sahara.
Personal Story isn’t the quest system in Guild Wars 2, it is a story system. The quest system is supposed to be Hearts/dynamic events which you find by adventuring, not following npc’s.
Here is how I look at this:
A new player coming into Gw2, given the current state of the game and all their changes, including the state of PvP and WvW, what do you think their reaction will be?
I’ll tell you, as I recently took a new class through the game; basically how I did it when I first started.
- Most maps were largely empty
- The new LS area was difficult to get to, when I did, it was largely empty and events were not doable because of it
- Cant find a decent group for any dungeons. When I do find a group, people want warriors
- WvW is largely empty (on T1), figured I could level up there as I hate EoTM, sadly I was mistaken
- The trait system seems really restrictive at the moment, given you can’t put points into anything until a certain level
- Unlocking abilities also seems difficult for two reasons: 1) Nobody is on the map to help, and 2) The area might be on the other side of Tyria from where I started. I’m a new player, I don’t have the gold to purchase the books because not much of it seems to drop (were things nerfed at some point)
- I don’t touch PvP, but from what I’ve heard, it needs a lot of workFor a new player coming in, aside from the beautiful graphics and sound, what else could I possibly see as a positive in the game. Large amounts of it seem unplayable at the moment due to the lack of players.
The Living story doesn’t fix this; hell, I can’t even do the events because there isn’t enough people around. It seems only fitting to draw people back that an expansion is needed to give the areas that need addressing, and overhaul.
Expansions can take up to 3yrs to release, WoW is proof of this. I’m sure Burning Crusade took well over a year to develop. If Anet isn’t currently working on what, don’t expect one by the 3rd anniversary.
There isn’t a lack of players, there is a lack of players at specific areas and all MMO’s have this problem with no exception.
You will see them announcing an expansion soon, becasue it is literally ignorant to believe that the +280 people who are not working on the living story are working on bug fixes.
The NCsoft statement was around two years ago. None have any information about Anet’s plans at the moment however an expansion is indeed awaited during 2015 and I doubt an expansion would work out if it isn’t introducing a new continent, the question is..which?!
It’s like this in every MMO. If something, the GW2-community have alot of helpful people who can assist you and would gladly play for fun. Try to find these people and you will enjoy your time.
If you are looking for rushing-runs with hardcore players and you await them to accept whatever class you are, then it won’t happen.
ArenaNet is releasing living world and they will release an expansion anyhow by 2015.
Quaggans quaggans <3
You do realize you are posting in GW2 forums?
90% of the comments are gonna be explaining how GW2 is a trash game.
GW2 forums never were a place for the communiaty but merely for complaints and whining.
Yet the white knights still run rampant.
What’s ironic in this case is that you comment every thread you see, bashing the game, the develeopers and the players who enjoy it.
Now, if you would grow up a little and get over the $50 you paid, you would un-install a game that bothers you and actually start playing something you enjoy.
Some people just have to understand the difference between wasting their time in a forum for a year and un-installing and going forward with life.
If $50 made you wait a year for something, I can tell you with comfort that you won’t get anything in life.
I will put it this way:
1. People don’t want hard content because it is punishing.
2. People don’t want easy content because it is not rewarding.
3. People don’t want repitive content becasue it isn’t fun.
4. People don’t want one-time content becasue you can’t play it again.
What people want is the perfect picture of fun in their imagination, which varies for every player in this game. All I have to say is good luck and enjoy discussing, even if you are just wasting your time here because if this isn’t the game you want to play, uninstall and play another, it is more simple than what you think.
If you are awaiting serious comments, post your thread on Reddit, you won’t get any useful comments in this forum.
If you post this for hating, then you are at the right place, you will see people bashing ANet and GW2 in a second.
Welcome to the forums!
I would be willing to bet that the second phase of the Living story will be a filler developed by a minimal part of their team while the majority of them work on a new game.
While this could be disappointing, because of the unfulfilled potential of GW2, if we were in their shoes it’s probably what we would all do considering the fast pace at which moves the industry.
They didn’t just acquire the Unreal 4 Engine for their future project to sit on it a few years developing content for their old GW2 engine. (source: http://www.examiner.com/article/guild-wars-2-publisher-inks-unreal-engine-4-guild-wars-3-coming ) They have to train their developers to work with the new engine and start making content early on.
The merging of servers to manage low population issues also hint at the fact that they are looking ahead beyond GW2. The Chinese release will give them a fresh cash income for the development of their future project.
Aside from the fact that article started with ‘“Guild Wars 2” has been without a doubt one of the biggest successes over the past twelve months in the realm of PC gaming, and the company that brought gamers the great MMO…"’ and made me lol, you might be on to something.
The problem is, GW3 has nothing to go on. Aside from the career white knights and the few that actually enjoy GW2, they’ve probably lost a good portion of their fan base with GW2.
And before the Great Manifesto Debate, they had many loyal GW fans. Before we start arguing about tge manifesto itself, it caused a lot of problems and caused a lot of fans to lose trust. The past 2 years have just added to that, as evident on the forums.
1. GW2 was a commercial success wether your lovely opinion agrees to it or not. In fact, commercial success has nothing with the quality to do, it is about the media reaction and then we got the sales, everything else is nothibg but baseless, subjective opinions.
2. GW2 forums never were a place for the communiaty but merely for complaints and whining. Most people, active in GW2 forums include a popular names in teh community who have been hating since months, the value of the feedback in this specific forum is very little and it reflects nothing but some people and their ’’guilds’’/’’friends’’ who apparently seem to have the left the game because it is garbage, yet leave the game again with the new patch and then leave it again with a new patch…explaining this mystery is beyond my capability.
Also, people have to realize, if an expansion comes…it won’t be sooner than mid if not late 2015 since China is getting the game now and if an expansion gets announced, it would be for both, the western and the chienese version.
They will release both, count me on this, LS2 will come and NcSoft will announce an expansion by 2015 to build up commercial hype again.
So people playing together to take out champs like they are suppose to. How dare people play together as a group. It’s not like guild wars 2 is an MMO or anything…….. Wait………
These people don’t work together, they are just spamming 1 in the same general area
hhhhh, as far as i know, the definition of “working together” hasn’t change
whether they are pressing 1, or pressing 2345, these people are still “working together” to kill champs in a set order, to make $$$$
For reference I press 1 in all MMOs I play and unless they aren’t dead games where under-population is what makes the game challenging, I rarely need to use any other skill.
GW2 is dying, don’t worry. Leave the game and return when it is dead and you can enjoy the content solo…you can’t refuse this suggestions.
After the opening of a thread that became huge where people predicted the Feature Patch to come during June-July and that ANet is trash, the patch actually came one day after the opening of the thread.
I hope this won’t end up the same way, because it gets boring seeing the same type of threads repeated.
This is the answer for the thread, where people asked why Anet is silent.
Players either want a comment on every post or won’t be statisfied and I don’t want any arguments going ‘’if they just had one comment explaining’’, players will react negativly whatever Anet does. They may as well be silent and let the players complain cause they complain anyhow.
Are you saying that none of the issues or concerns are valid at all?
I am saying that since the players always react negativly, it maybe a reason why Anet is starting to be more silent. I am not saying it is good, or bad…neither I am a supporter of the situation or vice versa, just simply my own thougts. Players usually complain about the information from Anet wether it is little, or it is hype and if none of those they complain about why Anet does take long time before releasing what they promise.d which usually makes sense since they sometimes release info about things they are planning to work on and may take months just to start the process.
The playerbase of this game and other MMOs is the same and it is basically based on complaints since the player-base so huge and there will always be groups not happy with the game, therefore complaining on the forum. Since Anet know the forums ALWAYS gonna be complained at, wether the game is trash or amazing, they may simply have given up on the communication that usually lead to misunderstandings rather than soultions.
This is the answer for the thread, where people asked why Anet is silent.

Does LS not count as content? Sure it’s only temporary, however I found that the LS updates every 2 weeks seemed like more content overall, compared with any other mmos. Also what about Teqautl, Triple Wurm, EOTM, and pvp revamp? Pretty sure these are fairly large bits of content added, on top of LS.
It doesn’t really count, because if you miss it, it’s pretty much gone without a trace. Completely unlike other MMOs, where much of the older content will still be accessible AND worth doing!
As I missed maybe 70% of the LS, that had zero value to me. Teq and Wurm are only for the serious elite/hardcore (by Anet design!), EotM is irrelevant unless you WvW, PvP unless you PvP (and they REMOVED content rather than adding it!). All the awesome new weapon and armor art are strictly only for pay. So yeah that’s pretty close to zero, sadly.
It doesn’t have to be that way. The LS could leave permanent changes, improvements, and additions. So far it has only left permanent harm – i.e. destroying LA and leaving us with a less-functional version in Gendarran (with full functionality paywalled for important paying people, of course, which is pretty pathetic. You could argue that in some ways GW2 has LESS content now than it did a year ago!
It just gave us new things and players apparently CAN’T accept anything new.
I would ask you in advance to save us from a wall of text becasue it is usually to try to argument about this specific points, it is a fact by this point: MMORPG players don’t like change, something proven from a philosophy standpoint, humanity in general don’t like change but also like to complain about what they have.
I see alot of people asking for content like WoW but did you know that WoW forums have the exact same threads about lack of content and tedious repeition?
Leave then I guess.
Players complain when Anet says nothing.
Players complain when Anet says something.
Players complain when Anet does anything. There’s an easy to see pattern.
This and if the players visitng this forum had a little less of an ego, they would have seen the same thing.
Step 1: Anet Announce mega servers.
Step 2: Players voice concerns that are legitimate to their style of play. RP/PVE/PVP/Commuity.
Step 3: Anet Claim this won’t be a problem and that match making is intelligent.
Step 4: Players ask for mega servers not to be in Cities and Boss areas.
Step 5: Anet decides to roll it out in quiet areas.
Step 6: Players test mega servers and voice concerns.
Step 7: Anet ignores all concern, problemss and requests up to this time and rolls it out anyway in boss areas in cities. Guilds can’t rally, RPers get trolled, Guild Bounties get griefed, community groups break down.
Possible Step 8: RPers go back to wow, aeon, FF and Rift to spend their money, PVEers move to ESO where the Mega Servers are done better.
‘’ PVEers move to ESO where the Mega Servers are done better’‘. I lol’ed, I don’t know if your post is sarcastic or not, anylonger.
I am not personnaly asking for something. I am pointing out things that either needs to be fixed (bugs), needs to be added (lack of permanent playable content).
Don’t compare this thread to a QQ thread.
There is a big difference between ‘’I am entitled to this and that’’ and ‘’There is a lack of this and that’’.
And maybe if you take a step back and look at the general discussion page. You can clearly see that the amount of what you define as QQ as drastically increased since the patch release.
It happens with every patch-release.
So the major complaint is with the community? Is that really ANet’s fault?
Sure, I’ll concede that there are more than a few events grinded by the hardcore that are way too open for trolling, but IMHO they’ve already taken the first step to alleviating some of those by making champs scale better.
In my experience, I’ve never felt less alone since release. It’s great! I’m leveling a mesmer at the moment, currently level 35. If I need help with an event, I finally feel like I can get it.
I know the temple events, the ‘raids,’ champ farms and the guild missions are way more rewarding than standard open world activities, but those open world activities are what many of us hyped when we heard about the game. It’s been so long, but we can finally do that stuff again.
It’s not the megaserver that needs to be fixed/removed. It’s just a few modifications to some of the more hardcore content to compensate, and it’s a willingness of the community to use the “Report” feature.
There is no issue, WHATEVER the update could have been out, this same thread would have been opened anyhow, it is just an illusion that people want Anet to make the right thing, becasue apparently Anet only do the wrong things. You can figure out from a logical point of view why it is like that and how a company in some myserious way always ’’fails’’ according to a forum created for compaints.
killed or atleast heavily crippled my community, thats for sure. Doesnt seem like they care much, either though. I am just waiting for their usual pat-self-on-shoulder move on social media along with trying to lure new players to the game with 50% sales or whatever. There has been silence for a week, and the “fixes” that came only added further chaos. Not sure if they have a clue where they are stearing this ship at this point.
How in the world did it heavily cripple your community? Please explain, or are you just complaining because you like complaining?
Community= an identity built up on a server since launch.
Made up of the same people with the same attitudes that like to do the same things.
It is not really hard to understand.
Some servers had great communities, that is why people went there. How it ruined communities? Find me more than 2 people from your own server on any map- go ahead.
You no longer see the familiar faces- you no longer have the same philosophical discussions, you now longer have server gossip.Nevermind guild issues and mega bosses.
Nevermind language issues and very different cultures in Eubut I guess for some quantity= quality
Why am I the only person in the game to end up with people usually from my server on the same map? I find it like I am making miracles everyday when GW2 forums tell me that the mega-server tell me that I will play in a myserious hole from now on.
Also, it is ironic to use philosophy as something to support your opinion, casue your opinion in the first place is flawed.
Speaking about philosophy and generlizing your own experience and understanding of the system for every single GW2 player and then you wonder why people like you who have wasted the last half year hating, don’t get attention.

So, are we going to get some blogpost about something incoming or something like that?
Since the Aftermath release, we got no word about what is coming on (LS season 2?). While i Recognize your effort in “Feature patch”, i’ve find it horrible and poor (Most something detroying good game mechanics than implementing new good ones).
I as myself have been playing each day less, and I’m getting ever more less interest in the game.
The “Feature patch” had nothing to maintain us occupied, and now the lack of content is making more ppl go away. I’ve even completed 2 pvp tracks (Balthazar and arah), and now I’m bored.
So, something is coming on?
How even dare you speak with ‘’had nothing to maintain us occupied’‘.
I don’t know who you think you are to speak for the players to be honest, I can’t take the rest of the thread seriously.
Actually I forgot something, I know 50.000 people who joined the game becasue of the update. Whaaa, all the ‘’people who you know’’ are nothin’ buddy, my 50.000 friends are the important ones…hahahha, GW2 live, haha……..
^ GW2forums, a place where you get this stupidity everyday, just the other way around.
Most of the people I know quit when this patch went live. I have been trying out PvP but I don’t like the toxic PvP “community” this game has either. I will be leaving very soon if mega servers are not removed.
I seems to recall those people quitting after more or less every single update.
But I might confuse you with someone else.
You aren’t my dear friend, you aren’t. He apparently forgets how his friends already left a dozen of updates ago but well, I suppose he is a good guy for remembering their memory.
Regarding the thread: once upon a time there was a game called WoW that everyone hated on whatever Blizzard did. Today GW2 is taking its place. The reason other MMOs haven’t and can’t do it, is becasue most already have too low of a population to complain about. With time you will understand that opening threads about the game dying with every single update-release mean nothing but being in the same boat as the people who hated on WoW for 10 whole years, gl with your journey I guess and make sure to check your post history to not end up like your other fellow player, telling us how your friends are leaving now when you already stated everyone have left with the update 6 months ago.
Mega-server have its flawas, yes…but I, mysteriously, happened to always play with friends on the same map, I always enjoyed the active zone chat with people talking and joking and have quite mysteriously, once again gotten many friends from new servers, I guess it is a miracle since GW2 only have whats negative…how can such a good thing happen?
Well, if this wasn’t a forum, specifically created for people to complain and therefore 90% of the people who check are ones who want to complain, you would have seen different thread titles.
Good luck fellow players and remember, people will complain about everything, will leave the game for whatever reason and willl come up with ’’killing’’ statements when they feel like. GW2 isn’t perfect, NO… but it is the best on the western market, wether our fellow cuties want it or not.
(edited by nGumball.1283)
the old ones will most probably always have a decent population.
Without tweaks in the current system they will always have an overpopulation, actually. These ‘uberoverflows’ will not allow for any breathing space, no matter the number of zones. For as long as there will be enough players to entirely fill a single zone, they will get crammed into it.
They should probably add a new cap cause as you meantion, most people are reporting GW2 areas to be ‘’tokyo populated’’. Perhaps they should tweak the cap later when new areas actually get released and older ones get emptier.
If server populations were such a problem, why didn’t they just bite the bullet and do server merges?
I know that’s a DIRTY WORD in MMO-land, but honestly the megaservers are killing the game in a way that server merges could never hope to do. Nobody wants to play a game where tagging mobs is impossible, where doing guild missions is like waiting in the queue at the post office, and where I hear nothing but hate speech because someone dared to type to map chat in a language that isn’t english
Because the servers aren’t exactly empty, they are populated but some are busier than others, meaning if any expansion comes out or any other kind of content that bring players back, the merged servers will crash.
It is a way to ensure population in the zones and give Anet the chance to release new ones, that’s what Colin said. Anet have been, for a long time, worried and unsure about how to introduce new areas to GW2 as they didn’t want the old areas and cities to be ghost-towns. This system will make it possible to make new areas and still, the old ones will most probably always have a decent population.
I have not logged into the game and really played in 1-2 months. I have it uninstalled. But I am curious…
If what the OP says is true, that the megaserver places you in areas with people not of your native tongue, this is kind of..odd. And as the poster following him stated, many people are having issues adapting to the 4/15 update. My question to the community and arenanet is this:
Why is it that arenanet seems to be the only developer willing to shake things up at the core and foundation of their game so much that people remember the dates of these changes in infamy? Another example, the November 5th 2012(I think the 5th) patch lives in infamy due to the release of ascended gear. Why is it that these huge changes which have good intentions behind them, so critically received?
Only a small loud handful of people were pining for some sort of verticle progression. So arenanet claims that ascended gear was always planned(but never told to us even 3 months after release and after we had our exotic sets rolling) and released it spawning one of the biggest controversial topics you’ll see on the forums.
No one asked for Living Story, and yet with its release and gradual build up as the core of their content development, interlaced with themed updates, mini games, hard to come by skins, gem shop cash grabs, and temporary content, spawned yet another intensely hot topic. Infact, a lot of people had asked for traditional content updates and questioned when the first expansion would be prior to living story even beginning. But no one asked for living story.
No one asked for mega server technology. We did ask for arenanet to come up with a way to populate the “leveling” zones a bit more. I always thought that this would be a system that encourages us to play in these zones, any zone that we choose, even at level 80. Instead, they roll out mega server technology(TESO anyone?) and merge every speaking language together? Im assuming there are more blatant issues that go along with this. We asked for zones to be filled again, not to be merged with people from other countries.
A few examples…one has to wonder who is making these decisions and why? Do they read these forums?
While I’ll admit, my hype over Wildstar has not been as high as my hype for GW2, and maybe thats a good thing all things considered, and I have contemplated coming back to GW2 at some point in the near future, but questionable development direction keeps me away. It is what finally drove me away from WoW after 7 years. And its what finally drove me away from GW2, and keeping me away.
Aside from the ascended gear, there is a mixed bag when it comes to opinions regarding Living Story and Megaservers and while both have flaws the illusion that both are ‘’trash decisions’’ is as mentioned…an illusion.
It is unrealsitic that GW2 today is one of the most populated MMOs in the west if we check the negativity in the forums like how it is unrealistic to believe that WoW surived 10 years while according to its forums, the game have been ruined for 10 years.
Yes, there is flaws, yes, Anet do stuff differently anda ren’t scared at all of trying new stuff…but that’s how innovation happen, we have enough MMOs following the same old stuff. Yes, they fail sometimes…but I would rather see them get better than copying others.
For reference, GW2 have basically been a game where Anet literally experiemented with methods and strategies and yet the game is cosnidered by the majority of media and playerbase (even of other MMOs) to be one of the most impressing if not the most impressing title on the western MMO market, that can tell you how bad the genre is.
PS. Your ESO reference regarding the mega-server is ironic, consdiering how Anet used the same technology 8 years ago in the cities of GW1.
Anet will shutdown after this thread. Hey, Blizzard actually shut down after having such threads for around 10 years.
I am sure there are others. But chances are you will not read them, it’s a fact that the forums are disproportionately peopled by complainers that are not satisfied with the game at some point or other. The impression is, " the game really sucks Look at all the complainers." or…" everyone feels as I do, because Not many people are disagreeing with me."
Chances are…MOST of the people that feel like Marche are not On the forums posting, but on the game playing.
I’ll just leave this quote here:
Players who are satisfied rarely post about how satisfied they are. Forums generally represent a vocal minority.
Actually…. that’s a myth.
The people who post on the forums are the most passionate about the game. Good companies understand how customer feedback works and pay attention. Bad companies believe the myth and wonder why their customer base is shrinking.
Which is why Anet listened to the playerbase, added extra gear and then got raged upon.
O wai, players can’t suggest anything that can fail cause their ideas are some kind of a paradise in their imagination.
If you really believe that the forum reflects how many people are happy with the game then we gotta say that WoW should have been closed since release since Blizzard forums have simply been filled with people whining since release.
I just finished leveling a character from 70 to 80, this last week. Oops, I forgot the traits were reset. Turns out I played all that time with no traits whatsoever. I didn’t even notice. Lol.
I usually level up without traits too cause I don’t care before entering the harder dungeons or WvW/Pvp
I believe there are some things here:
1st, ArenaNet should really be aware of the foreseeable problems that come with the changes they made on this patch, because we found ourselfs into issues that block our progression or gameplay into several things that are actually minor things that could have been avoided, such minor things cause major issues sadly. The 2nd is that, the systems they introduced to have potential, but the odd thing is this minor things can cause Players / Guilds to have a complete nightmare to achieve after the 15th, what they easily did before it, we can’t be surprised people are complaining when we on certain “features” only lost and won nothing than new problems to deal with.
Let’s take the Guild Missions as one example:
- We lost capability of put our whole Guild (that is large enouh) into the same map, the system just takes everybody apart just like Overflows and if there are Meta-Events running on the map, oh dear, you just will find yourself into “Join In” button spam due full messages, some of our members were not capable to finish Challenge because they simply could not get in!
- Guild Missions as we learned yesterday the worse way, with the Mega Servers when it’s about starting them you can likely face a brick wall because other guild already started the mission, before we could guest in another server and start it there as alternative, now we just enter the same MegaServer waiting the mission to fail. When there is this tsunami of feedback on the community and everything is merged into one MASSIVE Thread that seems to be simply ignored, where questions are never replied…. Rage is just a secondary effect.
When you grow up and become a fine man/woman you can open a gaming company and pay half of your team to check the forums everyday and answer every single person. When that happens please inform me so I can give your game a try and if doesn’t suit me I will insult you, all the people who work for you and call you trash.
Mesmer doesn’t do enough damage at 80? squishy?
If the mesmer does know how to play, they would win a warrior quite easily.Yesterday in EoTM me (a mes with Traveler’s +25% speed bonus and Blink) and a couple of other players chased a warrior for about a minute just to catch it, dent it and finally kill it when it just stood in a corner and didn’t try to run anymore.
I got my last not killed profession achievement yesterday, after a Deer and a half ranks, in 1v1 on a capped point after a decent fight; that profession was a warrior.
No, warriors are not a slightest bit overpowered.
Instead of grind you can grind WvW, grind Pvp, grind and craft, grind dungeons etc etc etc.
FTFY.
It is the players who are can’t accept a game where you can do different stuff, focusing on a specific kind of content to call it grind later on, blaming the company for it. If you want to grind, that’s your personal choice.
Current leveling is exactly a system which takes a player by the hand and makes it do what they wouldn’t have done otherwise because they didn’t find it fun.
And why didn’t they find it fun? Because in unlocking traits for an alt there’s nothing new. You’re opposed to these players, yet approving of the system which promotes it.
If you consider ever form of playing grinding then you shouldn’t play MMOs cause that’s how they are.
And there are people thinking that leveling is the best its been.
Probably those people who have to be officially forced to do the content to enjoy it because if they’re left with options, they seem to be forced to do everything in an easier way aka “efficiently” and cannot enjoy it if they can.
I remember leveling a mesmer (my main) pre-patch – hard and slow, but doable; the sylvari racial skills helped to survive a lot, as well as traits. I still feel that my mesmer at 80 still either doesn’t do enough damage or is squishy even if it tries to squeeze a bit more of DPS.
I remember leveling an ele – I had to kite and kite and kite not to get killed by same level mobs; getting some traits early on really helped. I just accepted it, grinded Tomes of Knowledge on my main and leveled it to start playing it. Now, equipped in primarily zerker gear, I still do not see a lvl 80 ele as a good DPS source (as generally regarded) despite it being extremely squishy.
I remember trying a war – and facerolling most mobs of 3-4 levels above me and dropping it because it’s boring. I also see warriors who melt their targets at 80, and I ask myself a serious question: WTF?!
So yes, since the only important class in this game doesn’t really need traits to be viable in PvE till level 30, having the game balanced around it doesn’t surprise me.
Will I be leveling my other alts? No thanks; I still can’t make myself finish map completion on my main, and actually spending time on the same content or grinded gold on acquiring traits is not my definition of fun.
Mesmer doesn’t do enough damage at 80? squishy?
If the mesmer does know how to play, they would win a warrior quite easily.
Instead of grind you can WvW, Pvp, craft, dun dungeons etc etc etc.
It is the players who are can’t accept a game where you can do different stuff, focusing on a specific kind of content to call it grind later on, blaming the company for it. If you want to grind, that’s your personal choice.

And there are people thinking that leveling is the best its been.
People who complain will come here and do it and people who enjoy the game will do that instead of wasting their time here. Wether you or him is the one complaining is nothing but a cycle because it is an MMO and while an update may disappoint you, it may amaze others.
It is just an illusion that if Anet make better actions, the forum will look better…as it is an MMO community, there will ALWAYS be people kittened about updates and there will always be those who hate on the game wether the updates are good and bad cause you know what: if Anet doesn’t listen to me then they are trash and if they do listen…o wait, they are too late doing so, they should have done it since launch, they are still trash, GW2 is dead, gg.
Unfortunately, it seems they have taken your flawed theory as fact. No matter how many are negatively impacted by an update or change, no matter the reason, feedback or example.. it is a “cycle” that can just be ignored till it goes away.
Or worse, they react with a “fix” that has nothing to do with the posted issue and actually makes a problem worse. The language filter as a ‘fix" for their megaserver failing badly for EU is a prime example. Fixes like this show they do not understand, at all, the issue players are trying to communicate and apparently aren’t even trying to.“Ermagawd the game is dead” is a cyclical mmo post and common. There are, however, massive, legitimate complaints from this update concerning RP, Guild Missions, Language, Trait acquisition level vs level required to unlock, Gem Store item integrity post purchase, and others. To dismiss them all as a “cycle” without merit would be disastrous on a grand scale.
It is not really as flawed as you may believe it is becasue the theory say at the end of the day that whatever the company does and whatever the solution is the forums will always look the same and there will always be people complaining, I suppose many people have already realized this.
Usually every issue have alot of solutions however most solutions have down-sides and those down-sides differ based on who is rating them, therefore whatever they do, they down-side are gonna be the focus of complaints by this or that group of players.
I think the trait change is just fine and the players are just complaining about it because it make leveling alts harder (which is indeed the case, I won’t buy how many new players complain about it when I check the accs posting as new players here, in-game and I see they +10k AP). Regarding language, megaserver, gemstore and well, many other stuff, it is an MMO and it is bound to be flawed…well, time will only tell how they will react but don’t await the forum attitude to ever change whatever they do.
People always forget that there is pvp to pay attention too and Zerker is one of the weaker sets there however damage output and dps is still a must to kill.
Otherwise, the issue with zerker isn’t the gear or the stats, it is the mechanics of the game like how the bosses attack, their attack damage and their mechanics. Right now, bosses kill with one shot and therefore there is no point of healin or supporting in general if we exclude buff-support. Just buff everyone, stack might and kill the boss as fast as possible so he can die with the least amount of attacks.
I don’t think this will change or Anet want to change it, and if they do, it may affect the pvp negativly.
The economy is player-driven and an inflation isn’t only exclusive to what you pay but also to what you get.
You don’t even get one for each map anymore, I’ve been getting keys for the last six I cleared instead of charges.
Still get 1 for each city zone, and I guess 5 is more than enough if you want to suffer the newly extended chore to get to 80 with the trait debacle.
I don’t know how you got that because I have finished alot of zones on my alts and I always get charges for map completion.

Megaserver will never be removed, suggesting it is just a waste of time. It feels weird that they have the option by default tbh but yea and a simple option to turn it on or off is more than enough.
uhh, no. not really. Just because you hide it with a fancy chat filter doesnt mean the whole vile name calling will stop happening. all it does is covering it up.
Though maybe it is becasue the playerbase is trash and can’t respect others rather than Anet’s fault that humanity can’t be respectful?
and whos decision was it to mash servers with different languages together? Pretty sure that was Anet’s. Wouldnt have been a problem at all if they actually valued the Server identity people had before this mess. If anything, they should have kept the French, Spanish, German and English servers apart in the megaserver filtering instead of just throwing them all in the same pot.
Meaning that we have to accept that humanity is trash and can’t play in a friendly enviourment in the first place because of racial reasons. It is pathatic.
