Hoping, it won’t get me an infraction again, so I will write it out carefully this time around, so no1 will get it wrong:
The best guild tag, I’ve ever seen, is [STFU]. Afaik, it’s a guild on FoW.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
Dunno why the forum bugged out on me, so I’m gonna write it again.
I mostly get overrun by the zerg, the ones doing the spiking typically are thieves or wear heavy armor.
What do you define as “killed by”? Taking the most damage? actually getting finished? The one hit which gets you down? The immob which made me die in the first place?
I typically die to getting immobilized in the zerg. That’s all there is to it. Too many damage sources to make out the actual cause of death, besides that fat charr warrior who drives a stake through my chest.

So basically, in order to get golems, we have to escort dolyaks to our keeps all day long in order to have enough supply in the keep to afford a golem, then, after we got our omega built, the keep is wide open for an attack due to being starved of supplies?
Great idea, really, I’m glad, you are not a part of Anets development team.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
Not every single skill needs to be viable in pvp.
The banner of tactics, for example is great in WvW. 10% more boon duration for half a zerg? omgyesplz!
Aside from your rants on the banners(honestly, the banners are amazing already), I share your view on the physical utilities and signets.
About Rampage: I never thought of it as much of a pvp skill anyway. What I’d actually like to see is the target cap of all AoE skills in that form being increased to 10, so it can be used for zerg busting.

The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
Just saw a group of our guys chasing one of our Omegas yesterday. yelling “GET OUT OF THERE!”, “PRESS 5!” etc.
It then got squashed by a Miller’s zerg after getting off 2 shots at Durios’ door.
The other 4 Omegas were sitting in our keep, and got then moed to SMC. Next step: Moving out, but not before someone asked for someone else to babysit his golem, cause he had to log out.
I was busy running arouns somewhere else, so I didn’t really get much of it. The golems were moving out to cap some keep, then suddenly in chat: “2 Omegas got lost. Need help.” “You not in TS?” “What?”…
Really, Drakkar Lake is such a bunch of scrubs… That’s why it’s kinda fun.

Where did OP go? oO
Now it looks like I started this thread
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
oh yeah, how about the following change:
bullrush → pull rush (lame pun, I know)
Charge forward, pulling any foe caught alongside to your destination.
Well… It’s basically Skewer from Magnus (Dota)…
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
How?
That’s a fair question, let me think about that for a moment…
Well, screw it!!!
JUST BULLRUSH!
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
QZ not worth it anymore IMO. 4 seconds of 100% quickness increased DPS by an effective 400%. Now it’s 5 seconds of 50%, which is 250% effectively. That’s a 37.5% decrease in overall power over time.
Not worth it. Reroll something else. Not sure what I’m actually going to be doing with my zerker ranger that’s got more than 250+ gold in it.
Mathwars 2…
4 seconds of old quickness buff your dps during that time by, well, …
100%.
During 8 seconds(still 4 seconds of em quickness), the dps rose by 50%.
And during 1 second, again, 100%.
I just can’t see that 400% anywhere in there. Maybe, you could enlighten me?
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
You all brought up some fair points but missed the biggest one:
We are Warriors. Bullrushing is, what we do.
Why bring them to us, if we can move us to them?
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
I was going to make a bad salad joke, but now I don’t feel like it anymore.
Anyway, the Asuran race shall rule all of Tyria.

I’d totally do it
But I’d have to create another character first. Peacemaker Napp is way too busy cracking skulls with his disproportionate hammer.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
There is one sort of ranger I run into from time to time that is the complete reverse of this and presents a real danger. That sort of ranger does not rely on burst, but instead seems to have a constant rapid fire. I don’t know much about ranger builds, but they seem distinct and are the only rangers that I have trouble with.
Shortbow?
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
Get Longbow and 4 banners and you will be able to help your team hold chokes… But you will soon find, if you grab an arrowcart, you can do even THAT more efficiently.
Banners are great tho, because you can drop them and THEN grab an arrowcart to bring some damage down range.
But honestly, if the best build for a warrior involves grabbing a freaking siege weapon, I don’t know what to do with this class anymore.
Still planning out things for my arrowcart build and I will probably never get any gear better than greens for it because it’s just stupid, but it’s surely fun to bleed immobilized opponents to death.

Ahahaha “Get Over Here”
The opposite of fear, you run uncontrollably to the source, running on the spot if you’ve reached them and its still in effect. But srsly Warriors are up front fighters, we go to the enemy regardless of their support, not yanking them away from their team like a cowardly Mesmer. It doesn’t fit. I agree just fix our “go to them” skills and we will be A-okay.
Throw Bolas should be changed.
First is a immobilize, then it is chained to a pull.
I’d rather have the satisfaction of watching it tie their legs together as they faceplant the ground (1sec knockdown then regular immobilise.)
but only if they are running.
If they are standing still, 3 sec immobilize, if they are running, knockdown and 4 sec immobilize.Seconded, people are usually moving anyhow. But keep it 5.5 seconds immobilise (at least that’s what my tooltip says) people are so worried about making us OP.. we are UP, VERY UP, we need every edge we can get.
It is on a 4 second base(and the longest immob in the game). If you got a 40% bonus to condition duration(e.g. 30 pt arms and a set of lyssa runes) then that makes 5.5 sec tho.

SInce when is Millers Sound T1? :P
They still have friggin large zergs at prime time.
Honestly, the diff between T1 and Tx|x<8 is not the size of the prime time zergs but the size of the off-hour zergs and the communication between shifts.
Ofc, T9 servers can not even field full prime time Zergs, so there is a difference :>

^There is a way of taking a fully upgraded keep tho.
It requires a big zergball with loads of mesers and 5 Omegas.
@OP: How about the following scenario? You just ask your commander, whether he will be willing to zerg down their keep to strip it of its waypoint and supply, letting you in turn get the Vista, if you bought him 5 Omegas to take down the gates.
On the other hand, if you buy 5 omegas, you might aswell simply transfer servers with that gold instead, unless you already got a bunch of alpha prints from JP runs or surplus badges. Transferring comes with smaller risk :P

Unfortunately we lose hard when the question “how big is your zerg” is raised though..
what zerg?
I guess, a single Millers Zergball at primetime is as big as your entire WvW population.

Hello Anet! I request that you make the traps available to remote detonation by me. Why? Combo fields!! Detonate Fire trap, use blast finishers Aaand we have stacks of might. Thank you.
Really just make them work like the GS skill #4 works. I don’t see a reason why others can use their combo fields to help their teammates and I can’t.
QFT.
Was my first thought when I popped a trap.

Are these the same guys who claimed, T7 was far superior to T8 and the difference in ranking was justified, cause SF would get stomped badly in T7?
I’ve never seen the T8 guys cry that much.
Are we gonna get a new forum trend?

Just wait for SF to plow through your tier. It will shake up the rankings.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
Well, I once climbed up the well in EB JP.
Had some Ranger barrage me. Just pulled out my shield and blocked a bit, till I made it to the top to get a clear view. Turns out, the ranger was no longer there, but an ele was waiting up there.
I was like “…”, then I decided, that I am a Warrior and Bullrushing is, what we do, so I bullrushed into the eles face, he pulled off some earthquake combo, I blew balanced stance and stunlocked him with my Mace/Shield, swapped to GS and 100bladed him.
The fight went on for a bit, till I had him down, only for him to down me and mist form away. Tried to get a downed battle going, but he was out of range. So rezz battle.
I rezzed faster and bladetrailed him, to interrupt his heal to give me space to /bow, before he gets up, then went on, leaving him there. A couple jumps later, I saw him being attacked by 2 players from the third server. Simple answer: I am a Warrior and bullrushing is, what we do!
So I jumped off the wall, I was just trying to climb, stunlocking some fat Charr to oblivion(he never knew, what hit him, I just bullrushed from behind, stunlock into 100B, we spiked them, waved at eachother and proceeded with the JP.
Really, people think way too much about stuff in the jumping puzzle. Just act natural.
Like me, for example. I played a Warrior. Bullrushing is what we do. I spot someone, he gets bullrushed, simple as that.
Just do what you feel like and don’t get allworked up over something which happened in a game.
Who is prepared to die is prepared to die, so hammer them down. Who isn’t prepared to die despite being in a pvp zone needs it hammered into them, that other players can bullrush them on a whim.
If I don’t feel like it, I /wave, if I feel like it, I bullrush. Simple as that.
And if I wave and they bullrush, then it just happens. Who cares? It’s 2 silver or 2 badges and the outcome will be decided by button mashing.
If you die, go back to the JP in half an hour and do something useful in the meantime, no biggie.

WvW = the greater number wins and is so imbalanced you can’t survive outside a zerg as anything other than a thief/mes/bunker Ele.
So all the roaming rangers can not survive?
Just how can these rangers kill my superior thief then? How can eles cry about being unable to do anything against a decent GS/SB ranger besides running?
There are more classes which can do fine outside a zerg.
And theres a lot who can SURVIVE outside a zerg(Juggerneer, Juggermancer, Beastmaster, …) Okay, granted, the Juggerneer doesn’t do much besides trolling but he can not die.
I agree, tho, that Warrior is pretty much the bottom of the barrel.

The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
Why are you guys talking about such complicated matters?
“You should be able to turn off commander’s tags”
“Anet should change it, so you can…”
How about a simple:
“Anet should increase squad limit to 50”?
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
@ above-
To be fair, Thief has Fleet Shadow trait, Engineer has Super Speed (more examples…blah blah blah) to have speed greater than +40%. Warriors do not.
There is still a hard cap on movespeed. The only benefit from these 50% increases is higher movespeed in combat.

the problem is, whenever you make a sharp turn, he will flail with his arms like crazy.
Asuras also have some other VERY obvious animations, which get caught pretty quickly by an observant eye.
On the other hand, big characters have rather minimalistic animations.

I’m surprised, it was so easy to manage for your server guys.
Devon: “Can you push the reset on eu servers to a seperate timeframe, e.g. xx:xx GMT?”
Server Guy: “No way. There is some pretty kitten movies in that timeslot. NO WAY!”
Devon: “What if I tape them for you?”
Server Guy: “Deal.”

Tried to dodge and broke his neck.

In PVE, FGJ+Signet of Might+Battle Roar (If you are Charr)+SOR = 15 stack of Might
Longbow F1 + Baner of Discipline(blast) + arcing arrow(blast) + pick up and plant banner(blast)+FGJ+Warbanner(for good measure) = 18 Stacks of AoE might.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
The first thing, you should learn is that these 5% damage are not 5% of your damage output.
All the damage increments are added up and then multiplied with your base, thus, these 5% damaeg increase will end up raising your overall damage by about 2% at best.
These 2% damage can already be dished out by having an extra block and staying on your target longer with the added survivability.
For example drop the 5% trait entirely and skill, like 20/30/10/0/10, skilling reflect on block and you suddenly got a way of eating ranged opponents alive.
And the Signet build is bad, because it kills your utility. Slotting FGJ Is more useful than slotting the might signet. In drawn out fights in a single area, drop another signet for a banner of discipline and you suddenly get+170 precision and +15% crit damage from a single slot.
Another problem with Signets is the lack of Stunbreakers. On paper, Dolyak Signet looks like Balanced Stance, until you factor in, that BS is a stunbreaker.
Granted, Warriors don’t have much good utility, but the ones they do have do not only have the potential of giving yourself more bang for your buck than signets, they also help any players around you(FGJ, Banners) a great deal.
Of course, if you want to farm Trashmobs, Banners are probably the wrong choice.

I’m gonna try to build an axe build for my warrior these days.
Gonna be an evisc wvw duel build tho, utilizing the 50% crit chance against stunned opponents trait and using kick(:D), shield bash and other cc skills to get off guaranteed 8-9k eviscerates while still having high toughness(full cavaliers trinkets with ruby jewels).
Gonna see, if I get it rolling.
Axe/mace is great because the mace gives you a second source of vuln, and a second ranged attack.
Axe/shield probaly needs the reflect trait to shine.
~~Also, 5 signet builds are the devil! Begone, impure abomination!
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
(edited by naphack.9346)
1) Try Axe/Mace or Axe/Shield. It’s a way more solid buildup
2) On-Crit sigils are mostly bad. Some of them might be fine but most have way to long cooldowns to be worthwhile. I take it, you want the 100% crit chance for a guaranteed eviscerate crit?
Then slot something giving you either more crit chance or a higher damage, you can actually crit easily on that eviscerate. You might even want to slot a ruby orb in your axe. If you are after high sustained damage for PvE, slot the fireblast sigil tho to mow down trashmobs slightly faster.

Well, a commander zig-zagging across the battlefield would confuse pugs way too much
Also, what’s the point in picking a mobile build, when you have to walk with the zerg anyway?
If you wanna make an ele commander, at least grab something like S/F. Swirling Winds is too good to pass up in an organized zerg anyway.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
just give warriors a trait somewere which reduces condition duration by 20%.
Would actually be a very warrior-like way of dealing with conditions
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
So if we must just ignore these “SUPER” build, what happens when every player on the server will play those?
If one ranger, thief or ele is not worth the time, imagine a group of them, hell a zerg of them. The answer will still be to run away from it? Builds like these becomes popular quickly in WvW, and for a reason: They’re borderline OP (Most peoples love the feeling of been OP, even more in a game, while necro are the opposite, we’re masochist). If there’s no answer to it, a fix is needed.
I think that every class should have a least a chance to beat them, equal skill and all that.
There is no way every player will play those, cause as soon as a server has more than 5% of its playerbase play such builds, that server is gonna lose horribly.
In teamfights, having proper combofields and the right extra effects is worth way more than a bit extra survivability.
Also, just let me throw in this example of a player, who just wants to waste other player’s time to make the overall performance of their server worse:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pfO5s9pi0c
That is why you shouldn’t bother too much with attacking full tank builds. They are built for turning fights around(or at least drawing it out endlessly).
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
Well, if you look into the history of RPGs, Nights used to be pretty scary in the older ones and got dumbed down more and more(less vision impairment, less unique monsters etc). GW2 sadly follows this trend by having no difference between the daytimes at all.
Just run around at night in Skyrim…
…And then do the same thing in DAGGERFALL
In Skyrim, the night is barely noticeable… In Daggerfall, however:
You don’t see kitten, there’s scary musik flowing out of the speakers, sending shivers down your spine and some really scary monsters are trying to hunt you down…

Full shroud crit build in full zerks without the shroud, you traited so much in having any life force left
