The mobile app would be enabled for Android and Apple users. You can also access the TP via the website, similar to how Blizzard gave access to their Auction House through their website.
Folks who are at work, school, or wherever they are, can slip-in some trades when time allows. I know I did some trading when WoW enabled their mobile AH. But that got me thinking. Since the TP is global, trades would increase significantly if a mobile TP was enabled. But would that affect the economy negatively? Or positively?
I’m no economist, but I am curious on how this would change the in-game economy.
I don’t like this idea. There’s a reason why adventurers need adventuring, and that is keeping them fit and healthy. There is also the risk of character-obesity. If your toon plays too much of SAB, they won’t be fit to fight the next elder dragon. And the cost of waypoints would be double!
Also, the risk of carpal-tunnel syndrome would be devastating to the adventurers of Tyria, which leads to the danger that Tyria might face. I posit that Moto is really an acolyte to one of the elder dragons in Tyria…
Here’s the thing: if we don’t boycott ANet, then they get to call the shots. We’ll see the trend . You see, it’s a lame excuse that they’re stating that SAB is an MMO. Newsflash! It’s not. The max you can have is five people. That’s it!
And the small zones are pitiful. Someone had hacked the game and enabled a larger zone in SAB, proving that it’s already in the current build. Some speculate that increasing the zone requires gems. Gems!? We already paid $60 for this 7 months ago, and now you want more from us? Good grief!
And the AI they touted as the best-thing-ever is nothing more than childish programming. The AI attacks the nearest player even though they’re not attacking that AI. Shoddy, I tell you, and plain laziness. They said that the AI should attack the one who did aggro, not the player who did not aggro.
All in all, I’m dissatisfied with SAB. At least I have SimCity to play while this one blows over.
Hey folks, just curious about this other aspect of WvW. War isn’t cheap. Siege equipment needs to be bought. Structures need upgrading. Armor and weapons need repairing.
I’d like to know how players and guilds fund their WvW efforts. On an individual scale, I try to stow money away before hitting the Mists. I would have 50 silver with me. Any income I get at the end of the night, I use half of that towards siege equipment and the other half goes to my bank. This way, I would have a stock of siege equipment just in case someone forgot siege.
But on the larger scale, the structure upgrades intrigues me. Is this a single player who shell out their personal dough on the fortifications, merchants and waypoint upgrades? A fully upgraded keep costs about 3 gold. If an individual does this, are they mentally prepared to lose that keep when the zerg comes rolling in?
I also heard that some commanders get donations (siege equipment and gold) from wealthy players. That’s great, but it’s sporadic. A commander might splurge that cash on upgrades, but it would be demoralizing if the enemy takes it.
With that said, do guilds fund structure upgrades? And if so, how do you collect funds?
Nope, but I had hopes for it. Right now, sPv kitten till in beta. There are key features that are still missing, which may cultivate the eSports viability of GW2.
I like how things come out in a weekly basis. It’s like waiting for the next episode of your favorite show. But instead of watching, you’re participating in the show. I’m excited on what would happen to Rox next week with her new Baby Devourer pet.
Think of Dodge as another Utility skill in your skill bar. It’s essential to dodge those devastating attacks and to widen the gap between you and your opponent. Each class also has a trait that will modify your Dodge skill. Mesmers create clones when they dodge, Warrior deal damage at the end of their dodge.
For my hotkeys, I took off “Move Backward” and replaced it with “Dodge”.
Still going to have massive culling in open world, pointless… call me the grinch but why play when you can’t even see what’s going on
I see the dragon events as these server meet-up parties. There really isn’t any strategy involved (I haven’t done any Temple events though), but it’s a fun party. Everyone is there waiting. Some are socializing. Some are in their costumes, brawling it out. Some are dancing. Once the dragon lands, all KITTEN breaks lose.
As what Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation had said regarding GW2, “it’s a party, and everyone is invited.”
Still waiting on that drinking animation though…
I posted something yesterday about this… By this time, there would be previews and teasers of what was coming on the next patch. They would put those details on the March 2013 features. There’s no details there other than the Overview.
Two things come in mind — one, they’re very hush-hush about it to avoid any spoilers for the Razing update; we may see something huge that would continue the storyline for it; two, the WvW progression might be delayed, and we might only get the culling update.
My head is itchy because of this tin-foil hat. But I would love to get a preview or snippet of things to come.
Does that mean I can get a chest each day for each dragon? Or only rares from ONE dragon?
I think one special chest per mega-boss per account…
“…each boss’s guaranteed rare item drop will be moved to a separate chest (visually similar to daily achievement reward chests) that can only be acquired once per day across an account.”
what % profit returns is good to sell? 15%?
It’s volatile, but as what Warren Buffet had said, “Rule number 1, never lose money. Rule number 2, never forget rule number 1.”
I would love player housing integrated in the game. But I do wish that current resources would be used to craft furniture (logs for chairs and tables, ores for kilns and pots, cloth for beds and curtains, etc.).
As an info-locust, I’m starving here. We know that culling will be fixed in this coming patch. But what else is there? Would it be all WvW-centric? Moar preview and teaser will be great! 8 more days to go, and I’m dying here!
I buy lots of a rarely traded but high supply material (probs some sort of low lvl end cooking product)
-Force the price up to 2000x the amount for 5 mins, 5c to 1g buy out + aggressive buy orders
-Collateral it to the white man
-Fail to repay my loan
-Profit
-Pay any loan fines, they are sure to be minimal compared to my profit
-RepeatRich actually do get free money with no risk, well by gum
Ah, good one. So to avoid this, maybe the Collateral value should be based on a 10-day Moving Average of the Buy Offer from the TP.
The only thing I like about this entire idea is the Break Kneecaps skill.
If you defaulted on a loan, your account’s characters permanently have the crippled condition until you pay it back. Awesome.
EDIT: Ooh! and there’s already a sound file for “AHH! My leg!”. That would play every few minutes.
Ok…..this has to be the single greatest comment in this thread. That may be the best incentive to repay the loan….even above needing collateral or having your account locked out.
It would basically make your account unplayable and would be a reminder to EVERYONE that sees you what happens when you don’t pay back your loan.
LOL. How about having a champion randomly spawn on your location whenever you’re alone. And if by some reason you kill the champion with friends, the champion does not drop anything… at all!
Here’s my theory. I think ANet is trying to deviate away from Armor skins in the BLTC. I believe they’re making a lot of new Armor skins and will eventually inject them in the game by drops, RNG, recipes, etc. This would give people something to work for (or grind for) and keep the community busy.
I think BLTC will sell primarily Towns Clothes from now on (again, just a theory). If they release good looking Towns Clothes and Town Items (the broom, boxing gloves, etc), people will buy it for looks and for fun. I already bought the Chef outfit and the Top Hat purely out of looks and fun.
They could enhance this and give a better experience for players. They could add a Towns Clothes collection tab, similar to the mini-pets collection. Since you bought the Towns Clothes for money, you don’t want them to clutter up your bank slots, which costs money if you want to add more bank slots.
I love the Monthly, and it is easy and soloable. I think ANet designed it like that since the Dailies are getting a mixture of Fractals, Dungeons and WvW. It would be aggravating to some players if the Monthly included some dungeons and wvw in it when the dailies would have them some days.
Overall, I’m satisfied with this Monthly set up, and I hope they don’t change it.
Why not make the user’s account the collateral. Loans would be offered by Anet and the amount would based on how many play hours your account has.
The higher the hours, the higher the loan you can take.
The lower the hours, the lower the loan you can take.
If the loan is not paid back in the agreed upon time, your account is locked out completely accept for access to 2 sections of the BLTC. It would give you the ability to purchase Gems for real money, then convert those Gems to gold to pay back whatever remaining balance you have on the loan.
If someone is willing to put their account at risk for a loan, let them…..but they need to understand that the more they take out, the harder it’s going to be to pay it back.
If someone defaults on their mortgage the bank takes their house. Same with a car loan, etc.
Your account is the collateral.
Not sure about this alternative. The gold should come from somewhere to keep the in-game economy in check. If ANet would do this, then the gold would come out of the Gem market.
But I’m not a fan of this since it entails an account lock-out.
this..
What’s the difference between this system and just selling your items on the TP then buying them back later?
That you do not run the risk that prices 3 folded by then.
Another question is ‘Why would anyone take the risk to take collateral that may be worth less in the future, making the buyer walk away from the collateral’.
The prices in this game are messed up. They go up and down more than in any other game. Collateral needs stable (or at least predictable) prices. GW2 is faaaaaaaar from that ideal.
and this..
Collateral is valued on the TP’s Sell (should be Buy!)* Offer price. If you took the collateral when the loan defaults, you could sell it by undercutting the Buy Offer price, which may break-even or give a small profit or become a net loss. This would be the risk that the loaner takes for the sake of interest profits.
25 stacks of confusion..
- my mistake. Collateral should be based on the Buy Offer in the TP NOT the Sell Offer.
Just wanted to chime-in again. This fantasy loan market will not accept Soulbound or Account Bound items since they cannot be transferred to the loaner.
Also, tokens, laurels and karma is hard to value. If it would be included in the loan market, the borrower will have to set a price on these and hope that the loaner would find it reasonable.
But the primary reason why Soulbound and Account Bound items are excluded from this is because of potential exploits. If Player A got his account hacked, the hacker can place all of his Soulbound and Account Bound items in the loan market, have an accomplice take the loan, and have it default or pay it early.
What about a no collateral interest loan? Of course, the amount should be small and could be loaned to multiple people. There should be interest, up to a capped amount, that will always stay on the person in debt until the loan is paid in full with interest. (eg; 20% of all income goes directly to paying the loan after X amount of grace period).
The question with that is, “whose gold will be used for the loan”?
The next problem would be players in-debt up to their ears. The game would become a massive chore when all earnings are withheld to a point the player leaves the game. The debt will then become unpaid.
The scenario I gave in the OP is more of a player-to-player transaction with the game’s UI as the interface (like the TP we have already). ANet would only serve as a moneysink for half of the interest gained and the penalty fee. Loaners could use this as residual income, whereas the borrowers could use it as immediate cash to be paid later.

So here’s an idea. What if there was a Loan company in-game? Call it the White Shark Loan Company. Players can use their gold as a loan to other players. The company would work like this:
- Player A wants to get a loan
- Player A goes to a White Shark Loan Officer and puts up a collateral
- The collateral could be Armor, Weapons, Crafting Materials and Mini-Pets. Cannot be Account Bound or Soulbound.
- The collateral will be locked in WSLC’s vault, and the loan value is based on the collateral.
- The collateral value is based on the current Buy Offers in the TP. The loan value is fixed at the time of request. Any future fluctuations in the collateral’s inherent value will not adjust the loan value.*
- Player A waits for the loan to be fulfilled
And then…
- Player B wants to loan his gold
- Player B checks WSLC for some loan offerings, and he can see what kind of collateral is placed
- Player B picks Player A’s Loan Request
- Player B places the gold, and WSLC sends the gold to Player A
- The terms are detailed in the mail. Terms are dependent on how much gold was loaned.
So here are the scenarios regarding loan payment
- If Player A defaults and does not pay the loan, Player A’s collateral is immediately transferred to Player B
- If Player A pays on the due date or within the grace period, Player A receives his collateral back, but pays full interest to WSLC. WSLC will then split the interest profit with Player B.
- If Player A pays before the due date, Player A receives his collateral back, but pays partial interest and penalty to WSLC. WSLC will then split the interest profit with Player B.
- If, by any means, Player A cannot pay the interest and/or penalty, his loan is still outstanding.
Initial thought is, why put up collateral for a loan when you can sell the materials anyway? You can do that, but what if you wanted to keep those materials for future use, like Legendaries or Exotics or whatever new seasonal stuff ANet throws at us? Also, selling the materials would take time unless you want to fulfill a Buy Order instead. So instead of selling them at Buy Order prices, you can just have it as a collateral for a loan. You would pay the loan eventually by doing events, dungeons, dailies, or trading in the TP.
Why would anyone loan gold? If you want a precursor but is short of 10g or 20g, you can ask for a loan.
Thoughts? If this is implemented, how would you think it would affect the TP or the economy in general?

High priced items never crossed my mind because it would be really foolish to circumvent the TP. If you can’t afford the initial 5% seller’s fee, it would be best to save up the money for it or borrow money from a close friend that you see face-to-face on a daily or weekly basis.
I don’t see how a net saving of 150g, over a 1000g trade is foolish. But like I have said, if you personally can’t tolerate the risk, that doesn’t imply that it would never work for anyone.
I think we are going around in circles at this point. Some say it is not worth the risk, but having successfully broker before, I say it is. There is no point going back and forth on this.
It was interesting when the issue of a big ticket item was mentioned. Although it was my fault since I did not explicitly say that bulk transactions is the viable trade for the broker system. Having big ticket items added in the broker system comes with a higher risk. The foolishness comes in part of the buyer and the seller.
But if there’s already a network that you have and maintain, then I applaud you. This was a concept that I bought up, but I didn’t know that a broker system is already in use. Not sure how many active brokers there are since I don’t see any brokers advertising their service in map chat.
When I began this thread, I didn’t have large transactions or high priced items in mind. What I had in mind were bulk transactions (250 stacks of ores, leather, cloth, wood), something like a wholesaler selling his goods to a retailer. The price would be set higher than the Buy Offer, but lower than the Sell Offer. The transaction fee charged by the broker would also be lesser than the 15% fee.
High priced items never crossed my mind because it would be really foolish to circumvent the TP. If you can’t afford the initial 5% seller’s fee, it would be best to save up the money for it or borrow money from a close friend that you see face-to-face on a daily or weekly basis.
But it’s for the really valuable items that the TP is most useful. A 15% tax ensures that the seller gets the widest possible audience of interested buyers for their item, and protects both the buyer and the seller against getting scammed. Many auction houses in real life charge 30%.
Just factor the 15% into your pricing. In my opinion, it’s well worth the money to bypass the hassle of advertising it and the risk of dealing with an anonymous stranger without any recourse if they rip you off. Would you rather have the 130 gold or an e-mail from support explaining there is no way they can replace the 150 gold item that was stolen from you?
I think for a lot of things, if you used the time you would have spent finding a reputable buyer and negotiating the deal to farm a little, you’d make back most of the 15% fee and you wouldn’t have the risk of getting scammed.
Whether something is worth the 15% tax should be determined by the seller on a per-case basis.
Is a 150g tax on a 1000g sell transaction worth it? Not to me, but again, that is subjective.
The TP would have been a more desirable option for high priced goods if ArenaNet has a hard limit to the TP fees. Otherwise, as items become more expensive, such third party options would become more desirable.
For third party solutions to work, the trusted broker has to be approved by BOTH the seller and the buyer for the transaction and the terms be clearly laid out and communicated.
Also I would suggest a hard max and min limit to the broker fees. You don’t want to waste the broker’s time on transactions dealing with only small amounts of copper.
I know a guy who worked for months to get the Juggernaut, but he decided to circumvent the TP to sell it to a guildmate through the mail system. He was scammed out of thousands of gold and a ton of hard work.
If he had just used the trading post and accepted the 15% fee, probably something like 300 gold, he would be something like 1700 gold richer. Instead, he was so frustrated, he quit the game. I even tried to talk him back into it via Facebook, but he was too upset to consider playing again.Honestly, it really is important. If you’re making 1700 gold, what’s 300?
Well then he should have known me as I would have helped in the transaction ensuring that everything is fair.
Just because one person made a mistake does not imply that there are no honest people left in this world.
I know some people don’t even seek out a trusted proxy for trades like this, which is definitely the WRONG way of doing it. The most important thing for these kinds of trades is to find a trusted proxy for the buyer and seller.
To be honest, I am not worried about ArenaNet’s part of this deal. It is not like they would be pouring huge resources into finding your items back for you if you lose it like this anyway.
It is at the seller’s own risk, but I believe that once the system is on its way for some time, we would know who the trustworthy brokers are and these would be able to broker transactions of higher value.
Interesting. So you’ve been a broker for a while?
Whether something is worth the 15% tax should be determined by the seller on a per-case basis.
Is a 150g tax on a 1000g sell transaction worth it? Not to me, but again, that is subjective.
It already is determined by the seller. If the 15% isn’t worth it, you try to sell your item without using the TP and take your chances. The community has already organized an unofficial LFG forum. I’m sure there’s a grey market out there somewhere (although from what John said earlier, it may be infested with RMTs).
The 5% listing fee I have mixed feelings about. On one hand, it puts downward pressure on the sale prices because if you list your item too high, you’ll just have to take it off the market and list it again when it doesn’t sell and that will take a big chunk out of your profit. On the other hand, if someone who doesn’t have the cash does have a valuable item, it prevents them from being able to list it at the going price. But then they could always just fill a buy order, so while they aren’t getting the best price, they aren’t completely excluded from the market unless no one wants their item enough to put a reasonable buy order in. I think that’s unlikely for something that’s truly valuable.
I’m not particularly opposed to the idea of a group of folks offering to broker deals for people. I cringe to think about the number of support tickets and forum threads it’s likely to end up generating though.
Yeah, the support thing and thread complaints would be a problem for ANet. But circumventing the TP is risky. At least with a Broker Rating system, it would be focused on the broker alone, whereas a Seller Rating system, it would be a problematic.
Gold sellers and scammers would bury any of these systems. Do not underestimate them. Also the TP is awesome, just use it.
This message has been brought to you by unbiased parties.
Yeah, the TP is awesome. And the implementation of a player run Broker system would be long, hard and unreliable. But it’s a step-up from my other idea, which was rating Sellers.
The idea was partially inspired by the Consortium when they were announced. I actually thought the Consortium was a sort of competition for the BLTC.
You could have a verification system which requires a mail and response.
How would this work? Would it also be a service the 3rd party would provide? Is it just something that shows both players acknowledge the trade? Would it be something that Anet programs in?
I can’t see Anet adding ANY kind of system that allows for circumnavigation of the Trading Post….especially when the Trading Post is secure already. Also, the TP is a MAJOR gold sink that is sorely needed in this game. I see many players complaining about inflation and gold sinks are the primary way to combat it (but this is a topic for a different thread).
The bottom line is that any trading outside of the Trading Post will have a negative effect on the game as a whole….even if it looks good in the short run for the players by saving them money on fees, it will be bad for the players in the long run by making everything more expensive. Those Trading Post fees are a necessary evil to combat inflation in the game….along with repair costs, travel fees, etc. The game actually needs MORE of them….not ways to work around the already existing ones.
I would think it would be what the third-party would provide.
My concept (once again, a concept) would be a website where the Third-Party Overseers, or let’s call them Brokers, registers their name and advertise their Trading Guild. They can add more details such as home server, days available, time available, and schedule of fees. The website would serve as a Broker Rating website, where buyers and sellers rate the broker by their trustworthiness, friendliness and cost. Only Brokers are rated.
If some player saw a WTS in map chat, he can either buy it directly from the seller by mail-to-mail, or he can go to the Broker Rating website and look for a broker.
Once again, there is always a caveat. Since it’s off-TP, the risk is very, very high. It is in the sole discretion of the buyer or seller to use either mail-to-mail or a broker. The hassle and risk may not be worth it.
(edited by nastyjman.8207)
As Charismatic Harm points out, such a system could work based on reputation, but there’s always the risk that such a reputation was simply gained for the purpose of making “the big haul” on a high value item. A free dusk would certainly be compelling enough for someone to put the effort into building the reputation required. With how slowly and unevenly information transfers, it’s plausible they could get away with it multiple times before people believed the people who were scammed.
Since we have gw2lfg.com, dragon-timer website and spidy.com, why not have a website that rates accounts/players for their reliability and trustworthiness with off-TP trades? Something like Yelp.
Although this could be manipulated with ghost accounts by rating a scammer in the website, unless a captcha is integrated in the rating system.
Yeah, this has come up with other approaches, and ANet (I believe) has indicated that it’s not an exploit, but warns against it since there is significantly higher risk of a scam. I’m kind of curious why you feel you need to work around the TP?
The idea came when someone was offering to sell their goods in map chat. Now the idea is put to rest.
It’s not an exploit, but requires trust in a third party.
The two parties conducting the trade probably barely trust each other given the number of scams going on in the game, so to bring yet another person into the trade and blindly place both parties trust into this third person….I know I wouldn’t do it.
What’s to stop this third party from building up a good reputation with small trades, then when someone decides to use them for….let’s say….a big transfer, like Dusk…..he screws BOTH players. This third party then ends up with Dusk AND the 600 or so gold from the trade. Anet won’t do anything about it either because the ONLY approved method of trade is through the Black Lion Trading Company.
Good point, especially on the large transaction bit. This might work for bulk items instead of single, high-priced items.
I had this idea floating in my head. Basically, guild banks will be used as a workaround for two players trading with one another. The guild bank owner will neither be the buyer or the seller. The guild bank owner will function as an overseer for the two players, and will be compensated by a transaction fee.
So the buyer and seller cannot withdraw anything from the guild bank, but they are allowed to deposit gold and inventory to it. Buyer will deposit the agreed amount in the bank, and the seller will deposit the items in the bank. Once everything is agreed upon, the guild bank owner will mail the item to the buyer and give bank access to the seller, so the seller can withdraw the gold. Once everything is done, guild bank owner kicks the two players from the guild.
Thoughts? Would this be considered an exploit?

This is absurd, just because you level 80 you should get ascended gear for free? What’s the point of doing fractals then?
Backslot items. I’d like to get a Quiver for my main since it looks amazing.
When a character levels from 79 to 80, 30 Laurels should be rewarded for that character. This would help the altoholics out there gearing their new 80 toons with Ascended items.
1. Laurels are account bound.
2. Most people need just 30 laurels for amulet so what would be the point of doing dailies after they get everything what they want?Let’s say you have two 80s. That would net you 60 Laurels. As of today, you could have accrued ~40 Laurels from dailies and monthlies. Now you have 100 Laurels.
With the two 80s you have, you could either dump all the Laurels for Ascended gear to one character, giving him two rings and an amulet. Or you could give one Ascended gear to one of your 80 and two to another. Or if you don’t like the whole Ascended business, you can use those Laurels for the Tonic or the Mini-pets.
There is effort put in on leveling an 80 toon. Why not reward those who like multiple alts with Laurels that could guarantee them Ascended gear? The suggestion came up after reading a topic about how Alts are getting shafted out of Ascended gear.
Laurels was added to give people something to do AFTER 80. So your idea is just horrible.
After leveling my main to 80, I worked on an alt. So it’s similar on doing something after reaching 80 in my opinion.
As much as I want ascended gear, I will have to disagree with this. If u get 30 Laurels for just hitting 80, alts would be leveled through crafting in just under 4hrs for those that are just sitting on gold stacks – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXescRln7aI
You could make an a toon, craft to 80, 30 laurels, delete toon, make another, craft to 80, 30 laurels, etc. etc.But I do get ur point, as I’m working on my ascended gear too.
They could add an Achievement tab for the 8 Professions. If you reached 80 on one profession, you get the laurel reward.
But if you really want that 30 Laurel for that amount of gold (sorry, I don’t know how much was spent on that video since I’m at work), then that’s your decision. If this is a problem, maybe have DR and reduce the Laurel reward if a character reaches level cap.

There’s this rabbit that’s bothering me. He’s labelled specifically as “Unsuspicious Rabbit”. He’s located in Mount Maelstrom on a bridge…
Yes for inspect for looks, but no stats should be given away.
How about disabling waypoint porting unless you’re dead?
The more rares the better. Ectos grew way too expensive, and needed a way to have their price brought under control.
Also, they’re being used as currency for Guild Items. When I saw that Ectos were being used for these, I was about to rage since Ectos were expensive. Now that they upped the drop rate of Rares and Exotics, I think it balances out in the end.
And now I can work on my legendary!
I haven’t played PvP for months now because of the lack of rewards. Personally, I want to show off what I have earned in PvP to WvW and PvE.
Since the game is mostly built on cosmetic as rewards, why not have the PvP locker create an account bound skin creator. For instance, if you just acquired a new armor that you think would look good on your toon in PvE or WvW, you right click the armor in the locker, click “Create Skin”, and voila! — you have a consumable which you can apply to your PvE or WvW gear. This should be account bound.
Or you could get the armor from the locker, grab some mystic stuff from the bank, buy a “Skin Ingredient” for glory, and then put them in the mystic forge. Once you give it to Zommorros, he’ll award you with a skin of that armor you just put in. Also, he gives back the armor to you so you don’t lose it in your locker.
This could also work for those who want multiple looks for their character. If I don’t want to look like a stealthy thief, I can change it up to an engineer-ish look with a monocle.
That’s my two cents. It may be petty that I don’t play PvP because of lack of rewards. But the only thing I ask is for cosmetic rewards that can be shown off in PvE and WvW.
I vote for this. Make the Capture Point mechanic the secondary mechanic on all maps. It would make games more exciting to play and fun to watch.
For Capricorn and Kyhlo, they can add a building where you win the game if you destroy the opponent’s building. The Treb (in Kyhlo) could be focused on the enemy’s building, and the cannon (in Capricorn) could be focused on the enemy’s boat.
pretty sure arenanet abandoned these guys and the idea altogether.
I think everyone forgot about them too, except for me…
Hope they get fleshed out rather than forgotten. Would be cool if they create an instance/dungeon of the guild’s hideout. It would be accessible if you get a summoning portal from the event, which would be RNG-based.
I’m kind of bummed that the Modus Sceleris guild are still at Lornar’s Pass and Fireheart Rise. It would be great if they move to other areas in Tyria now that players are actually going to other areas for their dailies and their missions.
First time encountering Orma was fun and unexpected.
P.S. I think I would love to know more about this NPC guild’s lore and story. They’re like the Team Rocket of Tyria.

Reading this thread reminds me of the Karka events. Boy, those were the days. Haven’t tried the dragons out yet, but I bet the lag would be terrible for High servers. Are medium or low population servers experience lag as well?
I didn’t even know about Emberglow and Deathwish until now… Now that the previews are in the TP, I agree that skins are going to go up.
I’ve been doing a lot of WvW lately, and the dragon chests were not enticing at all before this patch hit.
Now that I’m a WvW regular, I feel torn between doing dragon events and smashing some mist invaders skulls. This is actually great if I don’t feel like smashing in some skulls.
Also, with the ectos slowly going down in value, my path to Legendary had gotten easier.
