This build uses unholy sanctuary and is very strong. I haven’t seen anything like this on the forums but it’s very had to kill and still hits hard. Is the meta opinion still that unholy sanctuary is garbage? That is wrong. The trait fixes the weakness of plague and Lich form (that you can’t heal) by offering you a bail out.
I have been using something like this in WvW for zergplay, although with obvious swaps it is suitable for roaming too.
This build is very resilient and has excellent sustain, as well as group utility in the form of protection for your teammates.
The correct food/utilities are important, it is important to use the stone that converts toughness and vitality to power.
For PvE, swap to berzerker armor, swap axe out for dagger, and swap in well of power for your third utility.
The scoring block system makes the coverage problem worse, not better!
First, it tells players that if their server doesn’t come close to winning during a block, to not even bother because their effort doesn’t matter. That directs more people to edge of the mists or other parts of the game. The goal is to make WvW more enticing.
Just hide the score / hide the tick timer.
Right now the score tells losing servers that the intubation is hopeless and things snowball.
Basically, play with unholy sanctuary.
You will do lousy damage but nothing will kill you ever, because the game auto shrouds you. Then understand that anet thinks that this is what necromancer gameplay is like all of the time.
Chilling darkness makes plague really good in WvW.
It is a niche trait, but strong in its area. I’d prefer that the actually weak traits be buffed instead.
(btw I don’t think his fear trait is so OP. The fear kinda makes the bind useless and people who are feared run away which prevent this from turning well of darkness or plague into godmode, besides ele Tornado already spams stuns or launches and nobody thinks that is OP. So with tweaking it could be a legit trait).

Unholy Sanctuary is fantastic.
In theory, getting a second chance with life force only help you if you sucked and didn’t properly use your death shroud. In practice… You couldn’t be more wrong.
A great example is how it works with lich or plague in WvW. You get focused down and die but come back with a full DS bar + regeneration. It is very difficult to die now in WvW zergplay as a necromancer.
Then remember that it works with all enter death shroud traits too… So you get focused and die but you could come back minus a condition and with stability.
That doesn’t even get into the PvE Ezmode applications. Pretty much all bosses can’t kill you anymore. Even if you make a mistake and die, you have enough health to drop shroud and heal up or resetthe fight. You’ve got super tanky lich form too (now that you dont have o worry about dying) for for all out offense.

Wait, what? Math is hard…. So theres a 1 v 1 at the very least going on at far point, and theres a 4 v 4 at the max going on across the map on the other 2 points, how are you outnumbered and this guy is magically dying to air on far by himself?

There’s also a guy who went to pickup the home point.
Maps are different, but he’s 30 seconds away minimum from being able to help with anything.
The rest of your team is 3v4 against the smart team that didn’t rush far and they will be wiped. Counting on superhuman efforts from a bunker is not a reliable strategy.

I don’t see any rule or warning in the game that say he can not go far.
The only problem I can see is that you want him to play the game the way you want instead of how he want.
Whats wrong with going far is that he his leaving his teammates outnumbered on the rest of the map.
Mechanics like downed state Rez mean that it is very hard to win or even secure a kill when outnumbered. So, a far pusher is condemning his teammates to get wiped in a 3v4.
(1) push far and lose the 1v1
You are dead, your teammates went 3v4 on mid and are dead too, you are down 150 points and have lost the match.
(2). Push far and win the 1v1
3 of your teammates are dead, the players who killed them are off to 3v1 you and you will die too. you accomplished nothing.
(3) Push far and win the 1v1 and you teammates miraculously won a 3v4 or other team pushed far.
The enemy team rezzes and zergs you down fast.
A long time ago you could count on a team to panic react to a far pusher, and over rotate early. These days are over. People either knw what o do or aren’t paying attention.
A strategy based on the other team making mistakes isn’t going to work
Far pushing is a good strategy in hot join. This is because nearly all matches are unbalanced with one team having more players than the other. Pushing far to get a early points lead guarantees that you will have more players than the other team all match.
But this is why what you learned about Pvp in hot join is irrelevant elsewhere.
Far pushers are engaging in a high risk/low reward strategy, and most of the time they are doing it for completely selfish reasons like preferring to 1v1.
If you push far and lose you just lost the match, if you win, you won almost nothing for your team, even if they managed to win an outnumbered fight which is almost impossible.
What thieves and troll engineers should do is either take the home point, then rush far or stay home depending on whats happening mid…. OR…. Rush mid anyways even though they really aren’t the best team fighter and push far once their team secures a kill.
After the first kill (or death of their teammate), they can leave, rush far, and spend the rest of the game in mostly 1v1s, but they need to help their team win the first skirmish.

You also get the toy. The witch’s broom has a cauldron that people can use to costume brawl without tonics, the executioner’s axe has a run skill that slow classes can use to run faster…
Anyways, the female bloody prince armor is fantastic, as is the Asura version of the executioner’s outfit. The male witch’s outfit has a creepy mask.
Just hide the score/hide the tick.
This will not help with the big coverage/night capping issues, but it will help immensely with the #1 and #3 servers focusing the #2 sever issue.
It will also be better for morale.
Also rank is too easy.

The release date for the Halloween patch is public.
Last year they rereleased all seasonal outfits (witch, mad king) and added the bloody prince and executioner. All should come back (keep in mind that some outfits were not released right away).
Last years Halloween weapons are available in the gem-store right now, and are so inexpensive right now on the TP that I don’t expect a sale.
People hope for a rerelease of the year 1 gemstore weapons (Ghastly grinning shield), but chances are that there wolnt be a rerelease, ESP if there are new weapons.
Dataminers on reddit suggest that we may get 2 new costumes.
Seriously, don’t buy these minis.
Anet introduced mini holographic risen knights as a drop, and mini Caithes and Scarlets (which were key farmed), and players have tossed these into the forge to cheaply generate all of the rare + minis and tank overall mini prices.
Right now all sets of minis are also BL Chest drops.
The cost to buy the sets with gold is a small fraction of the price to buy with gems.
You will probably get your wish.
Be advised, however, that last year they staggered the reintroduction of the outfits, and if you wanted the witch’s outfit, for example, you had to wait until the event was half over.
I opened 100 chests the other day, my data suggested that the ‘double ticket’ scrap drops from the other patch had ended.
It’s the new players from the trial period..
New players are actually rated somewhat highly in this ranking system, so you get matched with a total noob on one team vs an experienced vet with the same rank on the other.
Anyways the trial is over, and the new players from the trial are now more properly ranked for matchmaking purposes now that they have a few games under their belt.
Back to the OP, it appears that profession loot on Necromancer is bugged, and extra silk isn’t entering the economy at the same rate as mithril and leather.
I just want to add that people were doing the queens dale champ train before champ bags, and they were doing the queens dale train even though many other zones gave better loot.
For all of the forum whining about toxic players, the player base legitimately loved the queens dale train.
Even now, even though some of the champions are completely gone, and most of the others neerfed in some way, queens dale map chat still gets excited for champions.
I didn’t love the queens dale train but it shouldn’t have been nerfed. People loved it.
Not true. Anet has added more than a few Non gemstore armor sets, including the glorious armor set which was released like 2 weeks ago.
Expect an expansion, that’s the only way these numbers make sense.
Would like to see the Ghastly Grinning Shield make a return.
I spent money on those mad king chests and didn’t get one due to RNG. Now, everything else in the game has been brought back except for the Halloween season 1 weapons.
And if the mad king chests do return, I’d love to see the mystic forge recipe that allowed you to exchange boosters for them also return.

I have completed the let line, Phoenix, chaos and tempest collections already and I am very happy with the reward of 7 black lion tickets.
Leave the titles for somebody who actually did something ingame.
What they hold do is:
(1) Remove the chests that give badges after events in edge of the mists, and/or
(2) increase the prices of the sweet WvW exclusive skins, and
(3) Add a collection track for these exclusive skins
I support this.
It would help edge of the mists a lot. (Right now commanders flee from fights)
It may also help WvW populations.
This requires you to be coordinated. Fat chance. You are lucky enough if every person loads into the game on time.
2 minutes of wait time before the game is too long so people fill it doing PvE or lobby chat and load in too late for a strategy.
You are a theif Ill suited for a team fight. I get this. So, either volunteer to start home, or just go to the team fight mid anyways.
After the first kill, (your team, their team doesn’t matter) you will shadow refuge & rush far and probably never be in another big team fight the rest of the match.
Just help your teammates get the first kill if you can. It’s that important.

Numbers matter soo much in this game. The WvW side with more numbers wins 90+% of the time.
The SPvp 5v4 results in a win 95+% of the time.
Numbers>skill.
So why would you leave your teammates (who you don’t even know whether they are skilled) in a certain to lose 3v4 at the start of the game?
B/c of mechanics like downed state Rez they have little chance of winning or even securing a kill. Why would you do this? why????
I push far all the time. If they send 2, I just run mid and we have a 4v3 there, if they send one, I can prevent him from capping, when the second guy gets there to help, I shadow-step and run mid, again creating an outnumbered scenario for my team.
Whats worse than 1 guy rushing far is what usually happens- the typical kitten solo q meta of 1 home, send 4 mid all kittening game as if its worth more points. It’s the most braindead thing ever yet it happens 80% of the time.
You are causing your team to get wiped 3v4 mid.
What you should be doing is helping the mid team secure the first kill, then shadow refuge and set up your teleport. Then rush far. Your team will still be 4v3 if the guy who got home rotates mid, and you get either the far point or a 4v3 massacre mid depending on how their home player rotated.
Some maps, ESP legacy, snowball after the first kill, so getting that first kill is much more important than the far point. Leaving your team in a 3v4 mid is just screwing your team in a high risk, low reward scenario.
Sending 1 home 4 mid all game would be nice to have on your team. You only need 2 points, not 3 to win. If 1 home 4 Mid wins the points, then stick to what wins. I’ve seen winning teams start losing because winners get greedy and want all three points, spreading themselves thin.
Bloodstone dust can craft toxic sharpening stones or be given to mawdrey for green weapons.
Still no use for excess Empy fragments.

Scenerio 1:
Both teams send 1 person home and 4 people mid. OP’s team kills 2 people mid. You rezz what are you supposed to do?
I might push far, try to hold the attention of multiple people for a while and/or even decap far so my team can regroup.
Scenerio 2:
Op’s team sends one person home and 4 mid, your team sends 3 mid one home and one far.
In thus Scenerio the team that sent 3v4 is just asking to have their group wiped, which is what usually happens. The dude that went far: either lost, in which his team is now down 3 players (about 150 points, good game noob far rushers), won (but will be killed in a 2v1 shortly), or didn’t cap against the bunker (very likely, and this also results in a 2v1 where he dies).
Starting the game out far in solo Q gets your team wiped mid.
Every time.
Start far == you are a noob that caused your team to lose.
In team Q, rushing far is still a bad idea but can be cover come with voice communication and specific bunker specs designed to survive a 3v4. I still don’t like.
In hot join, rushing far is a good idea, because the team that is ahead in the points early in the game will get a 5v4 advantage from the spectator mode leeches looking for a free win.
But don’t ever rush far in solo Q, only the noobiest noobs do this, it gives you like a 90% chance to lose the match.
AC gives more gold because it takes longer to do. There is a ton of unskippable dialogue and timed events.
CoF path 3 is annoying, which is why it s rarely pugged. But I agree, CoF p3 should give at least AC levels of loot. Ditto with SE 2.
TA p3 isn’t done for the gold or tokens but for the chests.
The problem with Eotm that needs to be neerfed are the post-event chests that give out badges and siege.
Badges and siege already drop from npcs and players in EoTM so the chests are just overkill.
When that guy wants to convert his 1800 badges to gold he’ll find that they are worth an additional 20-25 Gold.
Siege, ESP superior siege, is too cheap because of the flood of EoTM badges.
The exclusive WvW skins, beautiful and once comparable to Dungeon armor/weapons in rarity are a joke that can all be picked up within a few hours of playing EoTM.
Shield are often the best looking weapons. Too bad only 3 classes can use shields.
Do these weapons have an animation, like that wind back piece, or are they more solid-ish like dream thistle weapons?
You can buy Orrian boxes with karma and get a few from those.
Are we sure that the Pendant of Arah drops from Arah? Arah is run by tons of people every day. None of the other collection drops are dungeon exclusive. Maybe it drops in the world or the living story.
As for the others, they have temporary inflated prices that will fall over time, but it would be nice if the Ogre and dredge bosses were put on the world boss timer.
Because they dumped millions and millions of quartz all at once during a festival.
If you old charge quartz easily, with crafting, then many people would have crafted tons of exotic weapons with them. At 24 copper each, quartz is by far the cheapest T6 mat.
This would have tanked the markets for t6 mats, exotic weapons, and precursors.
And the cheap quartz would have been burned quickly too, making it very expensive to craft celestial after a few months.
The way it is now, only people who want celestial craft celestial, so celestial is obtainable and the markets for everything else aren’t affected.
I’m about at the same point as OP: about 300 points ahead of him on the leader board, about 300 points ahead of him in dalies.
Seems fairly obvious that we wil be able to double up on your total potential achievement points with an expansion sometime. & if they can’t get the expansion out in time, they’ll lift caps on stuff like dalies.
The population issue is edge of the mists has an easy/simple fix.
“Order” the various shards and don’t send players on blue/red/green to the subsequent shard unless the current shard is full for heir color. If red isn’t full on shard #1, then all red go to shard #1.
This way there is population balance on at least on shard for Edge of the mists, instead of what it is now, where an already outnumbered Red gets its population spread too thin.
The existing shield that anet said it wouldn’t rerelease is green (masterwork)
What’s wrong with releasing an orange (exotic) version of the skin. Collectors can have their rare item, people who want the skin can have the skin.

Hot Join should have more basic reward than Structured pvp
US solo que is so mess right now. This can keep newbs out of solo que.
Structured PvP can have some epic reward that need a long term play to redeem, and hot join should gave more basic reward in short term than Structured PvP.
Hot Join Already has more reward than SPvP.
True, wins don’t give you as much glory, but games are one sided and shorter, wins are assured from autobalancing, you can join the winning side mid game, and you don’t have to wait 2 minutes just to play.
Hotjoin is capped, but it takes hours to hit the cap.
The Lover (the precursor) shares the Feathers of Dwayana skin, so I want to know if it will advance the rare collections track?
Does anybody who has the Lover want to look at this and confirm?
Because I’d rather buy a precursor that isn’t much more expensive.
I suspect that unlocking the skin before the patch is enough, so I wonder if anybody has account bound a the lover after the patch just to be sure.
If there ever is an expansion with a ton of extra Achievements added, then these ought to be obtainable.

I came here hoping to find out about tribal armor being available in the gemstore. I guess the exclamation points fooled me.
Anyways I have the tribal armor except for the mask, and that’s annoying. (I have been using the Southsun mask as a substitute, but that’s expensive).
Anyways, all of the Pvp exclusive stuff should return to Pvp in some fashion. Hopefully in the form of reward tracks that are only unlocked when other reward tracks are completed.
Underworld as a limited acess open world zone would work. Sorta like Karka Queen, defeat all of the events at the same time and the 4 horsemen event starts. Add an entry fee, a super hard entry room and no Rezzing.

First, an initial popularity surge due to a nostalgic drop, a BL key sale, then double BL keys drops, plus the panic end of keyfarming craze, then an 8+ week sale period at 1 ticket per.

This just looks like a troll thread. I can enter solo queue at any time of day (or night) and almost never have to wait more than 5 minutes for a match.

You forgot the Removal of Capricorn, which was at least another map to play around with.
The elite dungeons in GW1 were so well made. You could have fun either with a complete noob team or a speed-clear team. Gone are those fun days…
No they weren’t. They were a mixed group that got worse as the game aged.
FoW was fun. Sorrows Furnace and Tomb of Kings were fun.
UW was overly punishing in its first room until new skills broke it, but I guess it was ok.
Urgoz and the Deep were boring to run more than once. PvE on rails.
Domain of Anguish was more of the same but worse. Plus it was long and if anybody disconnected, the run was screwed.
The Gwen Dungeons were grindy and unrewarding,
After a certain point, the “difficulty” was ramped up, but that didn’t mean things got difficult, just that only pre made groups with proper builds could reliably complete the content, which just killed replay ability because they restricted how you could play the content.
Why weren’t there free server transfers before this season?
