So I have had an 80 thief for awhile and I am considering getting my warrior to 80 to play for a primary basis of PvP. I would prob go for a bunker build with Sword/shield and switch to rifle. I do alot of WvW and in small groups but primarily I’m wondering how warriors are doing PvP wise. I’ve fought many warriors on my thief and I can usually win unless I can get stunned easily or by another person while he unleashes the kraken on my face. Anyways with the information I’ve retained from the other threads it seems warriors are not doing so hot in PvP atm along with nearly complete focus on rifle/longbow builds. Any tips for a sword and board build? Thoughts suggestions if I should do this or a specific way I can do it more efficiently?

We don’t do well in sPvP, that doesn’t count WvW.
WvW-wise Warrior is pretty kitten good.

I use GS+Sword/Shield and it works pretty well for me.
Sblock to nullify their initial burst, Leap in, Hamstring, bait dodges, stun+flurry, switch immediately (as soon as the first hit of flurry lands) into frenzied HB, stake.
Balanced stance when you are CC’d.
If things are getting bad Endure Pain, detarget, Rush/Leap/Whirl away.
Mobile Strikes removes immobilizes when you Leap/Rush/Whirl so it’s pretty much impossible to lock you down.

Bolas/Bull are also so good to use but I got TIRED of them bugging out and failing so I refuse to use them until Anet decides to give us these fixes.

Ha, looks like we’re playing almost the same warrior! I used to do leg specialist too, but I found it too hard to give up 10% damage or mobile strikes..

My main is a GS, I only use sword and board for following:
- leap (with mobile strikes)
- immobilize and swap into 100b
- shield bash
- shield block
- sometimes the cripple

My main damage comes from the GS though.

well depends, I mean omnom berry pies got nerfed anyways, so you should still always heal when CD is down.
I mean the real trade of is do you want 3% damage reduction or 10% more damage.

T6 is pretty balanced yes, but it is actually very zergy.

Really? How’s it compare to tier 7?

Depends what time you play, generally BP has 1 commander on in EB most of the time, and a commander here and there in the borderlands. AR is quite zergy and so used to be NSP when they were on. However I know there are also smaller guilds running around.

I’m from BP (T6) and I have to say right it is an extremely interesting fight. I think since reset, all three servers have been leading in points at some points. Will be a very interesting match! (Come to BP)

Advice - WvW S/D or D/D ?

Hi,

I carry S/D as main and D/D as backup… S/D gives you great control thru daze…make sure to equip a para sigil…and D/D great bust…switch between them to confuse your opponents…depending what class you are fighting…against tankier builds and 1Vs many fights I like S/D…as it hits multiple opponents…

D/P is a one trick poney that has been over used abused…

I totally agree. Para sigil is one thing that I really don’t know why to use .. 15% stun duration ( daze is not a stun) and the stun is 1.5seconds + 15% = 1,7225 … worth ?

It rounds up to 2 seconds. Which is only 1 second before you can CnD again. Meaning the enemy can barely hit you in a 1v1

Legendaries are only cosmetic skins, nothing more….and not even the nicest skins in my opinion.

I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who thought Bolt and Twilight were not the best skins for a one handed and a gs

Well sunrise is quite nice..

But IMHO, legendaries are just vanity. However having them is quite nice.

It’s the combination of the highest dps, best mobility and permastealth that’s wrecking WvWvW.

Thiefs are not the most mobile.

Warriors and Elementalists are both faster. The thief however is far more evasive, because you dont know which direction the thief is running in, its very hard to chase.

Please, please tell me how is warrior faster and more mobile, very please

Greatsword ‘5’, Sword ‘2’, Perma Swiftness.

Problem with Warriors is they don’t have sustain or condition removal and elementalist does.

So if a Warrior gets CCed while running away he can’t do anything about it, BUUUT if he does get far away, nothing can catch him, not even an Ele.

This in combination with mobile strikes is the only thing keeping me alive in WvW. If I get crippled or chilled during rush = gg.

As a roamer, you need to have access to the swiftness boon. However I find that as a second hand, the shield beats the warhorn in utility every time. Therefore I run boon duration runes have almost 100% uptime on elite signet.

It’s mostly a WvW Build: 4k effective power, 37% effective damage reduction, 30% boon duration.

General play style would be GS for damage / might stacks, Sword / Shield for defensive, disables.

With mobile strikes and both sword / GS you have great mobility.

30% boon duration gives you 80% uptime of signet of rage. With furious reaction almost 100% uptime on fury.

All this is before any food!

Any comments are welcome!

I’d say you can’t go wrong with GS or Axe. GS is great mobility and might stacking. Axe is consistent dps.

Hello guys. I have this problem with my armor.
For some streagne reason I can not apply the gold dye on some parts on Charr T3 heavy cultural armor.
I only have the pads, gloves and chest amt. The parts that can’t be dyed are the upper boxes of the items in the dye panel. Ie. the chest has 3 boxes 1 big and 2 small below.
I can dye the small boxes but not the big.
I can see the color change when I’m still in the hero panel but after i colose it those parts get white and in the hero panel the dye changes from gold to a dye named “dye remover” O_o
I tried to remove the armor, relog, remove the dye then aply the gold dye – nothing works.
I have tested all my other dyes and I get this bug only with the gold one.

I have exactly the same issue. I really wish it got fixed as gold dye would look amazing in T3

FGJ is just too good not to use. It is the one constant ability that should never leave a Warrior’s skill bar. It sure gets repetitive though…

A utility slot is not worth 3 might in my build. Generally I fill my utility slots with balanced stance, signet of stamina and either endure pain or frenzy.

I have to agree with Oglaf. FGJ is probably one of the best skills ingame taking into account effect, spread and cooldown.

I’m just suggesting a way why you wouldn’t use it. There are plenty of builds where you do use it…

I guess the toughness tree does have a bit of healing from adrenal health. However I believe putting either toughness + vitality or toughness + boon duration would be too overpowered, so they decided to split them into two trees.

you can build your warrior balanced to absorb a lot of damage and still deal a lot DPS
on my warrior i got following stats . ( i regen 360 hp /second cause healing signet /adrenal heal) and i restroe 352 hp/crit/target food 450 from sigil (2 sec CD).
Critical chance also go over 48 % with food/ 68 % with furry.
I can pull hb over 20k damage on low defence on wvwvw.
but since you sayed he used axe +axe is very posible that you got hit by an eviscerate by 12k
damage or even more since your gear is not full exotic

Hmmm.. my main iffyness with this build lies with your reliance on omnom ghosts. Pretty much your main sustain in this build are ghosts, which isn’t even optimal with your low critical chance. I would much rather run this build in full berserker then PVT gear, just because the ghosts would proc even more to keep me alive and you kill mobs arguably faster.

Yeah op is correct, right now the entire trait line doesn’t match up with other professions, which get significant profession specific bonus compared to warriors. Another thing I’d note are the horrible revive specific minor traits in tactics. Make them selectable of you want to focus on reviving, but don’t make them mandatory minor traits.

Is it possible? Definitely! I mean you’re only looking at roughly 30 ish gold per day, which an experienced trader should be able to get with enough capital. I’m more surprised that he managed to farm that karma within a month, or he might have bought it off the TP straight.

Maximus is right. Potentially with a 2g gap, others are more likely to buy it. If you just undercut by 1c, potentially you’ll get undercut as well. With a 2g gap, a lot of potential sellers have to think if they wanna list at 7.99 or 9.99.

I think everyone else is getting it, but when I post more than 6 separate items, I get an error on the trading post until i wait 15 seconds, where I can post one more item before error-ing again. If I wait 1 full minute I can post 6 more items before hitting the error on the trading post again. I understand it’s made to make trading post less efficient, but there must be other ways then imposing an arbitrary cooldown on sell orders.
