Why? You would then list your abyss dye next to the 1.3 millions that were just returned as well. They would then be worth 10c. /thread.

The reason is because that whole team saw what rewarding 1.3 million abyss dies would do to the abyss price.

Additionally you don’t know the cost of appearance modification.

It could take 1 crystal for an entire wardrobe change. That would mean ANET is giving you free stones.

Wait and see.

It’s not. In the SS and video when they are applying 4 pieces it clearly states “cost is 4”

My mistake. I’ll edit it for false info.

It would be very funny if ANET decides to change their mind and refund the specific colored dyes instead of unids dye for those who unlocked extra

That would be a mistake. It would flood the market with specific dye palettes instead of…RNG dyes. It’s this way in order to not crash specific dye markets.

If you already have the same dyes unlocked on multiple characters, when you log in on additional characters, you will receive one unidentified dye for each duplicate dye already unlocked on your account.”

This is in the paragraph right after the one you quoted.

Which while not clearly stating current unlocked dyes will become account bound this paragraph would make no sense without it.

Not buying Abyss for my alts has really paid off :p

It’s saying the opposite. If you had bought abyss on one of your alts you would get an account unlock.

I think he means he has it on his main but didn’t buy it again for his alts. So in this case, it’s paid off.

Nailed it in one. Only my main has abyss. I kinda feel sorry for people who ended up getting expensive dyes on multiple characters as you’re gonna get shafted by the unidentified dyes.

I see, I see. They likely won’t get shafted, but not as lucky as you

Would you even WANT a new class/race?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: pswendel.8179

pswendel.8179

I would like to see a new class in GW2! My favourite concept for a new class that would be a very fitting and interesting addition to the current classes and their playstyle is the “Bard”, a musician that damages enemys with music and symphonies!

It should be a magical class and should be able to wear leather armor (think that would best fit the class).

To the abbilities and the playstyle:
I have many ideas about the gameplay and style but just let me tell you some of them!

  • 1st idea is that the bard can attack with instruments (Guitar, Flute, Harp) to damage foes. Each instrument would be different and has a function (DPS, condition, Healing). They could be the f- abilities with a f4 that charges an attack to deal more dmg or heal! (but it would be similar to the elementist’s attunements but just a bit).
  • 2nd: I could imagine a kind of Utility skills are “songs”! Each song gives you a passive buff when used. You can use up to 2 songs at the same time. (This also can be an f- abilitiy idea!)
Trait Idea: With a trait (GM) you can use up to 3 songs at the same time! One song could give you an “aura” that hits mobs around you with damage (up to 5 enemys) when in fight and ticks every 2 seconds. Another “song” can be like giving you every 10 seconds a heal or every 10 secs 2 secs of stability. Trait Idea: The ticks can be set shorter (20%) so it would tick every 8 seconds.
  • 3rd: Some other Utilities would be like: calling a muse to fight on your side or give (traited) buffs to allied nearby you. Each “Muse” would look very sexy and follows you. (Or another option would be to make the muses like “stations” and the boons would affect players who stands in a circle in which the muse is in the “centre”.) But I personaly like the 1st idea more.

These are just a few suggestion but I think you know the idea behind it! To make a new class that has its own style and play. Please comment my idea! Thank you!

So you want guardians to wear leather armor…

Could a dev chime in? How will non playable characters (bosses, single enemies in the PvE world) be affected by this update? Not at all?

That’s my guess, as I doubt they are tied to a specific PC stat combo…or PC rules for that matter.

I suppose if I get no answer I’ll have to take some notes on Crit heavy bosses now for comparison.

Obviously this is a clever ploy by a dye collector trying to get people to empty their inventory of high-end dyes and lower their price so he can control that market.

I’VE BEEN SPOTTED

You can thank Wanze for providing me with the capital to control the dye market

I’d be more inclined to accuse you of having hoarded corriandor and crafted dye packs to dump on the speculators

Considering that Unidentified Gray Dyes have been very stable (due to a stable supply of coriander and Orrian Truffle) and dont even give a profit for crafting despite costing 200 karma, i dont see them spiking anytime soon.

I suppose I am looking forward to the possibility of that being the only way to attain dyes should the changes Mike mentioned in his interview come to Na/EU.

Play other games.

The issue I have always had with gw2 has been forward looking expectations for character developement.

Sometimes that’s story driven, sometimes gameplay. Gw2 offers no story nor gameplay changes consistently enough that it’s constant updates have zero to little effect on the progression of the way I play.

Give me content in the form of maps, skills, traits or story and I will engage. Keep kittening me around with RNG and zerg stories and I’m out.

The point is every time they had been available you either didn’t notice or delayed buying it immediately only to notice after it leaves the store. No matter how many places mention it was temporary or the countdown timer.

Inevitably people keep missing out on these limited time items and immediately asking when they will be back. I think people have gotten a little to use to the “On Demand” nature of today’s society. Forcing them to act within a particular time period to get/watch something is becoming more and more of a rarity. Stores open 24/7. Instant viewing of movies or TV shows when “you” want to watch them rather than carve out the time to watch it live on TV or when they are in the theater.

Huge difference between having something right now and..8 months+

Also Behellagh’s argument is based on an analog world. Anet’s digital items could be available always and forever, except they prey on the weakness of humanity via marketing tools (like limited availability) to sell their products.

Is it so bad for Terrorsquad to want to give money to a company for a product or service? so silly of an argument.

So basically people are still suckered into buying BLK’s… I never will understand why…

Nor I, Zudet. Though there does still seem to be a constant influx of new players who have not been burned by them yet and have to learn the lesson from their own experiences. I know there are also those who do not mind how the keys and chests work, or actually enjoy they way they work due to their desire for all those boosters that are actually of value to them. Some actually enjoy the gambling aspect of them. To each their own. Personally, I’ll continue to get my chest skins from the TP even though I know their even being available on the TP requires others to open chests. However, with so many players running the personal story key farm circuit for the sole purpose of getting these skins to put on the TP, I know that no keys even had to be purchased for them to be made available on there. Unless Anet nerfs the farming ability of keys or revokes the ability to trade the skins, I know they will always be available on the TP.

Personally, I don’t understand how people can reroll characters and spend the 30ish minutes to get ONE freaken key. Do people realize to buy one key, it costs $1.50 right? That translates to $3.00 an hour. Pick up some extra hours at work and just buy the kitten key, so that way you can actually PLAY the game… Do a dungeon with friends, events, or whatever, while earning gold at the same time! Hey! In one hour of key farming, someone gets up to 2 keys. In one hour at my job, I can buy about 35 keys (I’m not trying to brag whatsoever, just trying to prove a point). Yeah I’ll take the cash shop way.

The one thing I will not do is convert gems I buy for cash into in-game gold. My gems are strictly for special event novelty stuff and skins only through the gemstore. In fact, I don’t even sell the skins I get from the BLC; I just use the tickets I have to get the weapon skin I want from the trader. I do some TP flipping while running a couple hours of dungeons a few times a week and get plenty in-game currency that way.

Well, when you make $105,000.00 annually your earnings might be a bit more flexible.

Its Mordremoth for sure. Its also make total sense with the lore. Just as Sylvari as Mordremoth minions make total sense.

- Ronan a human Soldier discovered a seed in a cave guarded by plant monster. He bring it to his home destroyed by the Mursaat 250 years ago. He decided to plant it and nurse it with the help of a new friend, the Centaur Ventari. They both influenced the growing Pale Tree with Human and Centaur philosophy until the Pale Tree began to grow Sylvari.
- In GW2 we Capture the Sylvari Malyck and we bring him to a Sylvari Seer that say that he’s not born from the Pale Tree, but another tree. This Malyck is from the Nightmare Court. He claim to have no knowledge of the ’’Dream’’ and Traherne think that maybe the second tree have no dream.
- The Nightmare court is a group of Sylvari that reject the Ventari Table (AKA the Human/Centaur philosophy that Ronan and Ventari gave to the Pale Tree).

For me its all clear that these seed that Ronan found was the to create an army of Sylvari, an army of Modremoth minions. The only reasons, why some sylvari are not minions of the dragon right now is because of the Dream. The Pale tree was corrupt by the teaching of Ronan and Ventari and the Pale Tree decide to protect her children from the influence of the Dragon. The nightmare court mission is to remove the protection of the Dream so that all Sylvari fall under the influence of the Dragon.

I repeat: Why is Malyck not espousing the joys of Mordremoth when we meet him?

Maybe he was on a recon mission.

I’m not entirely on board for the theory, but mordy is sleeping when we meet Malyck. Pretty easy to explain.

Claws usually drop from Icebrood, Skelks, Griffons, Drakes, Risen and Moas.

And high lvl trash mobs of those families still drop Vicious Claws. There just arent that much of those around during recent LS Events.

But the frequency of those drops was reduced to combat botters nearly a year ago. Farming is not effective insofar as champ trains give you more gold and the drops of T6 than any other gamestyle.

if you follow Dulfy.net then you can grab 40 a day. sticking in a zone that completes 1,200 citizens saved will grant you 9 heirlooms per event. Assuming you can complete Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (for 40 a day, 160 total), you will need 9 successful 1,200 citizen rescues.

Since you already have 38 heirlooms, it’s safe to assume only 5+ rescues at 1,200.

This is entirely doable for you. I’d think it’s also safe to assume you didn’t complete today’s 40. Dulfy.net.

On Season 2 and Looking Forward

in Living World

Posted by: pswendel.8179

pswendel.8179

So ArenaNet has not yet decided that Living Story needs to throw in the towel. As season 1 winds down to a conclusion, season 2 is incoming.

I am not certain season 2 will be markedly different from the last release of season 1 to the first release of season 2. I WANT Anet to show us how they would expand the world, add content, maps, permanency, however it seems to me there are two things going on in the living story that would prevent them from doing that.

1) Anet provides gem store services which benefit from the living story releases.
2) Nobody would buy the living story as is.

Up until now I have not played a living story release which has had a lasting impact on my game experience. Fractals comes close, as they are permanent additions outside of the release content provided in the box.

Why is that? Is it easier to provide carrots in the form of achievements and collectibles to draw attention, giving traffic to the gem store? Sure. Why not? Anet needs revenue. I’m not against that.

But then why not generate gem store items that speak for themselves? That exist outside of RNG?

Why not produce quality content that remains permanent?

The answers are the same. Cost. It is cheaper to provide one time missions to drive players back to GW2 And subsequently get eyes on the shop.

I have been guilty of the same mistakes since GW2 was announced. Namely, I let hype course through my imagination and am continually disappointed by the product presented to me.

TLDR
Living story may be getting a new season, but will it be getting a new image? I think not.

What do you expect from Living Story Season 2? Greatness? CDI adjustments? More cash shop marketing?
I’m curious where the player base sees the direction going.

I’m really not following how this is ANet’s fault, nor problem. ANet doesn’t control the market, we do.

Law of supply and demand makes it so the lower supply and higher demand the more it costs. ANet has control over both. They made it super demanded due to Ascended Armor and it doesn’t drop enough to meet demand making the supply go ever lower and driving the price higher and higher.

Furthermore – Anet does control the market. It’s a completely controlled market from top to bottom. We are merely allowed to use it.

Is this person really serious or trolling?

The problem is anet is now made up of islands or communities of departments and suffers from the lack of communication between them. The left hand is not talking with the right hand.

It’s not 100% controlled, we can still set our own prices, but it’s in no way a market economy.

Very true, I should amend that.

Perhaps he has a long week next week with funeral arrangements, or vacation, or has some significant things happening in life which makes these next few days very relevant.

Reset daily? Sure. Which means, once qgain, only people who are able to play 8.3 of the days and only focus on rubble will achieve. Why can’t he have an opinion that that is sloppy?

I personally don’t care. But stop with these attacks man.

You can call it sloppy, I call it fair. There are rewards that not everyone is going to get unless you want to dedicate the time for it.

Look, EVERYTHING is in flux until the patch hits your client… I mean any number of things could change…. Why do you expect they should be able to post patch notes ahead of time?

Just like today, they decided at the last minute to add in all the sigil and rune changes, that is why it is taking so long to get the patch out….

Thats the hold up? Sounds like a big BoM to just dump together without testing thoroughly.

Great.
