skill cooldown starts when you deploy a turret instead of when it dies
turrets bodyblock enemies so you can hold choke points or make a defensive line with them
you can pick up turrets to move them as a bundle, this doesn’t trigger skill cooldown and keeps them with the same hp, needs a couple seconds to redeploy

turret pet stances
- aggressive – shoots everything in the area it can target
- defensive – only shoots enemies you are in combat with or objects you attack first
- sleep mode – turrets stop doing anything and regen hp

skill bar
1- rifle turret
2- flame turret
3- net turret
4- thumper turret
5- rocket turret
6- healing turret
7- wrench (swaps mainhand weapon for a wrench that heals turrets when you hit them)
8- teleportation gun elite (teleport yourself and all turrets in the area to target location, 30sec cooldown but long cast time)

12 points in Turrets
12 points in Support to heal turrets better with the wrench and make healing turret work better
3 to Explosives to help rocket turret a little or whatever

weapons
shield + pistol
use pistol to pull then swap to wrench

alt builds
-drop net/thumper turret for mines and deploy them around the turrets, move some points from support to explosives, change elite to Resupply Drop (deploys all inactive turrets on your skill bar at target area)
- “Lock On!” shout, makes all turrets attack your current target if possible
- Self Destruct Sequence – target turret explodes with a large AOE effect depending on type, has a cast time where you poke at a little radio controller or something
-Mortar elite to pull and do more damage, now you or your friend can be a turret too! (turret support skills work on the mortar but it still has to be manned)

(also every race gets different turret and tool skins because GW1.5 is a quality game)

why would they do something nice for free when they could put it in the gem shop and make mad $$$?

Here is a pet window showing buffs/debuffs with duration that you can see at all times, way more helpful than the awful bar in this game, maybe it can help give you some ideas on how to do it right.

The short answer is that new content is not going to drive people away from the game. There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.

It’s capped because Anet said the servers have to keep track and store every single duration on every mob in every zone. They have to keep track of the damage and duration of all of these.

People already complain about lag now, could you imagine how bad it would be in WvW or dragon events with necros putting 200+ bleed stacks on something.

Yes +5 power for 30gold is somewhat laughable. Looks-wise I’m satisfied with the gear I got and there’s not much else for me spend on, thus I will invest it gladly and will probably do so in the future too. It’s probably a sort of psychologial satisfaction of knowing that I have the maximum amount of attribute points and my character is thus as effective as possible, even if 5 power never made any practical difference.

The best part of this whole thing is that a lot of you probably played the “updated” and “better” version of the fight.

After launch when these same things were said the response was that the encounter was bugged and there was supposed to be more to it.

That more turned out to be an AOE attack and some mini dragon tendrils that come through the deck. So it was neat a few more interactive obstacles were added to the fight, except that you could pretty much ignore them since the AOE tended to happen in the middle of the ship and away from the turrets, and the tendrils either had negligible attacks, usually spawned well away from the players, or could all be handled by a solo party member not using a turret.

The fight was disappointing, especially in the face of the boss fights franchise fans are used to. I honestly think there was a lot more that the devs wanted to do with this but they just didn’t have the time and weren’t sure what would and wouldn’t work on that scale. I have a fair bit of confidence that the next elder dragon will be much better.

I just did it on an alt yesterday and it seems they took out the AOE and tentacles part at the end. Instead the camera just zooms out super far so you can see the explosions all over while you button spam and that’s it.

Champions Online has the perfect system and I was extremely disappointed when GW2 didn’t copy it

Repairs are expensive for the same reason waypoint costs are high. They save time. It is easier and faster to find and use a repair station than find a trading post and swap out the armor.

Also, some people skin their low-level gear and re-skin it as they go. For that , it is cheaper to repair than to buy a new piece and re-transmute it.

Seemingly randomly my ability to click monsters or players to target them stops working. Tab targeting still works. I can fix it by resetting the game. Any idea what causes this or am I hitting some weird hotkey I don’t know about?

pretty sure pets gain none of your stats at all and that is one of the reasons they suck so much at max level stuff

Runes ARE too expensive and you cannot get them back from the armor you put them in without breaking the armor itself. This is just another bad barrier to experimenting with various builds and are one of the worse part of GW2.

You can test almost every runeset in the pvp lobby, and how they work with builds for free. So if you’re really not sure about a rune investment just hop over there, beat on some golem dummies and find out for yourself.

Let me know when the pvp lobby includes a high level fractals party simulator.

There is a difference in having the option to atttend to an event, but not being able to attend and being able to attend, but locked out of that event completely.

Would you be happy if Anet took away all of your exclusive items that new players couldn’t get, and give you the Wizard Hat instead? It would be fair then right?

um, yes? are you delusional? people want to collect stuff to dress their characters up, nobody cares if it is “exclusive” except when that means you have no way of getting it at all
