I’d say that big floating tag over their head is pretty noticeable unless there are a slew of people. And if you look at your Friend’s List, you should know they names of your friend’s chars unless you really don’t care about them that much…

I don’t see the point of wings, period. On the other hand, a person that I role play with lost an eye recently. I am sure he would like an eye patch. Other people would like to have scars at various locations on their body or missing limbs. Obviously a missing leg would pose difficulties with the walk and animation and a missing arm would cause problems with combat, but it would be nice if there was some way to implement these strictly for role play.

I don’t use the town clothes on my main because they look positively frumpy on her. I would like better town clothes. I would also like to be able to automatically equip them when I enter a town. I would like them to stay on if I get wet or take damage.

I like the idea, but why limit it to the launcher? For Anarchy Online, someone used an API the company provided and wrote a program that would connect to the game’s chat window via an IRC channel. I would like to be able to talk to people in the game from where ever I feel like.

When I wave, I sound like the village idiot.
When I cry, it never stops unless I move, and then it stops immediately, breaking the immersion.
When I laugh, I have to be standing up.
There is no way to move from a sitting position to a lying position or vice versa and the only way to lie down is to sleep and when I do that, I sound like I need a CPAP machine!
I am not the only one who feels this way. There are many RPers who won’t use either animation.

you, if you are a true Role Player like my self, will never find any good roleplaying on a MMO.I completely agree. I haven’t had 22 years of experience, but I have had 8+ years of forum experience where posts required 500+ words of intelligent language. That is true roleplaying, in my opinion. However, it’s different for everyone. You can’t expect that true RP experience when you go to an MMO that is not focused on a roleplay.
Nonetheless, for the OP… I am also on TC, and I’m surprised that you are struggling to find some good RP. Join an RP guild, go to DR and just hop in. There are always a ton of people in DR roleplaying when I get on. Plus, there are plenty of RP guilds to join (some of which are really heavy RP).
Regardless, I would hate to be on TC if I did not have the opportunity to do “LFG” for dungeons. I am here primarily for the game, but RP is fun on the side. If you are here primarily for RP, then an MMO probably isn’t right for you.
I disagree 10000000%! I have been role playing since 1980. I have been LARPing since 1995. I meet all kinds of RPers on TC from excellent to hideous. I avoid the hideous ones, focus on the excellent ones and have fun every single time I log on. If all you see around you is bad RPers, either you aren’t looking hard enough or the problem is not an external one.
