I understand that the Badges will drop maybe from a bag of loot awarded for stomping a player.
If I chose to play a character that will only buff / support / protect my team mates means that I will not get badges, correct?
If I chose to play a character that does low damage, etc, means that I will not get badges, correct?
And no, I do not want to do the Jumping puzzles to get badges; for me that`s a stupid concept.
Predator your video is nice, and one can see that you are skilled. but most of the enemy players in that video have no clue about pvp…
The class is still a waste of time in my opinion.
maybe ranger ain`t for you (and me) but it`s decent. Mediocre dps, and some… fun skills, some times.
But maybe others find it fun & effective.
In this game pets would be OP if they were any harder to kill.
Did you ever do an explorable dungeon?…
what kind of gear do you use? you seam to crit alot
nice one
post more!
I have gathered around 9 gold, and a few AC / CoF badges. I have not yet bougth any lv 80 gear, it is only yesterday that I hit lv 80.
Another question for you guys / girls: Would it be possible to have a build / gear setup that works by combining Patk and Cond dmg? As in: open with LB, then flank enemy and switch to SB; If I`d have decent Patk and Matk, then SB should do ok. Also ~30% crit would be decent?
Anything good in the things above?
hello guys,
what would be a good support build for a dungeon group?
maybe spirt based or tanky pet? what do you guys think ? would it be useful ?
Hi,
please explain the reason behind choosing Spite -> Master -> Signet Power.
This gives might for 10s every 60s, if you use signet of the locust.
Is that worth it?
STOP !
Hammer time.
and you can use Hammer for trash and swap to GS or whatever at boss.
attack of opportunity = a free attack ?
it would help (I`m new to ranger) if you would post the build like
“i use this build
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mco9upxVMzaV
(random example)
and I use SB / axe+axe!
and it works wonders in pvp! or pve! or w3!
"
sure the link i gave is shait, but if you provide more info maybe less informed people like me will understand your message
thx
ooh
well I was lv 15 and I was doing a class quest / proffesion, story quest. It seam pretty hard, I mean I died about 4-5 times because if 2-3 mobs were focusing me, there was nothing I could do. I tried LoS, heals, running, etc, but they were hitting 100-200 / hit and I was hitting 35/70 crit.
It`s not my first char, so I`m not a complete noob. I stopped playing GW2 after the Fractals were introduced because I was dissapointed, and I saw that a big patch with lots of fixes came on the 14. So I am back to have a taste of the new and improved GW2.
I`ll try an ele I guess, I hate to play a class that everyone else plays, I saw TONS of Warrs, Rangers and Guardians…
when they say that Eng is underpowered, and don`t waste your time on it.
That`s the advice my guild mates gave me yesterday. I was on my lv 16 engineer, who shoots 16 times with his normal attack to kill a lv 8 critter.
So, should I listen to everyone else?… Is the eng that bad?
tried it 30s ago.
I was reviving a NPC and I sent my wolf to attack an undead. After the wolf hit him, he came straight to me….
People should understand, that Shortbow is good at non-condition builds.
oh that`s good news! once I hit 80, I will give it a try.
Right now I am struggling with the undeads (I am lv 74) and using sword / horn & longbow.
I did try a spirit setup with my sword / horn & 2h sword, but it was pretty cumbersome to keep summoning the spirits, and they seam to die pretty fast not to mention agro the damn undeads…
good utility, along many others. used it once in wvwvw, was enough.
thx AN.
1 minute ago I tried to kill an ele in wvwvw.
he ran.
I came here to thank AN.

well one thing I don`t understand is why the P.atk trait line gives +cond duration, I mean it must be a logic here, right?
I don`t plan to be strongest dps-er etc.
I am looking for a build that does not focus on bleeds.
Hello,
I would like to know if it`s possible to have a non-condition damage focused ranger build, that works ok in most cases / wvwvw.
Thank you for your time.
Hello,
I would like to know you opinion, what`s better for staying alive in wvwvw and helping his allies? Can the same be applied to dungeon parties?
I understand that warr has some offensive buffs for his allies and the guardian some defensive ones. Is it that simple?
Thank you for your time.
did about 2 hours of wvwvw, except a plus to run speed, nothing else changed much. same old shait cond ticks and condition removal by every other class, meh.
this is just another thread for every non-thief to complain about how OP thief is.
from all the professions I tried, ranger requires the least amount of “experience”.
but yea, try it out, it`s free.
I will wait for the patch notes that will come today I guess.
edit: there is still hope.
cool, thx.
Any news about the max bleed stacks on one target?
thx, will check the patch notes when they surface.
well at least the trolls are still present.
Hey,
I played necro since launch, but 2 months ago I have stopped. I considered that there were too many bugs (regarding the necro), and the other professions did not feel right for me.
I have not been reading the news / forums, so total disconnect.
Anything that changed in good since I left? Worth comming back? How`s the community / air / etc?
the OP is talking about PvE…
my main is a Thief, and I`m 51% sure that in Sea of Sorrows, a warr has an easier time and kills crabs faster than a Thief… well than me, let`s not talk about all the thiefs.
Superior rune of the Noble is impossible to obtain. Each requires 120 badges from CM and on my server every one is crazed about the new fractal dungeons thing. It`s like they are possessed.
Pirate runes will do for the first tests.
Do not use explorer, simply put 5 noble runes + 1 pirate rune on a set of armor that has the stats you want, then use magic find accessories/stacks. Your armor, not counting the runes, only gives 18% magic find. Your stats are still lower given your accessories are magic find, but you will do more damage and are a lot less squishy, then making your armor magic find as well. A good trade off for 18% in my opinion.
sounds good. I shall try it after I do some math regarding my gold.
thank you.
Seams that traveler set indeed has MF in the place of Vit. I will first try with a couple of pieces. My HP with Carrion is 18k, I will see if I make it with less.
won`t explorer cripple my dmg output? I always thougth that`s for a different build / spec.
Hello,
I am not happy to create a new thread only for this question(s), but in the last weeks I have been unable to find a balance / build that I like. If you guys/gals can help me out, it will be much appreciated.
What I like & what I would keep if possible:
– my DD / SB condition build, with carrion gear. It suits my play style and it feels right for me
Where I need it:
- Orr / the new zone? (I did not have time to check the event, I suppose there is a new zone called ‘lost shore’)
Why do I need it / for what:
- I`d like to run around the map and kill stuff in my own pace, but with more MF.
- I`d like to find better stuff (I seldom find a green item, and a yellow one comes once / week or something like that. Never found orange)
- I do not like zerg events like Plinx / etc.
What I would like from you guys:
- open my eyes to a new solution / spec / build / gear that helps with the above things.
- any solution you give please argument it, even if the solution is ‘roll warr / whatever’ just say ‘because lalala’
thank you for your time.

Would it be possible for someone at AN to reply here regarding Condition builds / gear and MF?
I enjoy my necro / thief cond builds and I don`t want to respec power/prec or roll a Warr.
what about Condition damage builds? the people using Condition damage builds will have to mix some condition damage gear with some power+prec+mf or something like that, which will kitten them further.
sure, it is doable, but it`s faaaaar from being decent.
let`s say you are a necro or a thief(that`s what I am familiar with) specced into condition damage. In order to use MF on gear I have to respec to a +power build, because using powerprec+MF mixed with gear with Condition dmg+tough+ vit => a complete joke.
come on AN!
I agree with the idea to remove MF, but I reaaaaaaaly doubt AN will comply.
Also, often when I run dungeons, I see different party members linking rares and greens and when I ask how much MF they run, they usually have above 100. One guy had 160.
Just another feature I do not enjoy, in a growing sea of bugs and features…
The burning that I applied using the spirit had 100% uptime.
every other profession will be happy about this though…
the problem I have with this build is the lack of gearing MF. If you want to do solo PvE in Orr, sure you can kill easy enough, but when it comes to drops they will be white / blue, sometimes a green. That`s what I get, and I use Lotus Fries food (70 cond dmg / + 30% MF). If you want to get more MF, you will have to get more precision and lose Condition damage, which I don`t want…. Anyway good luck.
re-logged the ranger. bought new weps, reset traits, went to try all the new things!
uffffffff………
I don’t see whether it makes a difference whether it’s gained from crafting or not. I MF farm Necro and whilst I have a fair share of Explorer’s Noble/Pirate gear I think what you’re looking for is “Superior Rune of Scavenging”. Pricey but in time (with that 6 rune) pay for itself.
19 gold for 6 runes of scavenging will take a really long time to pay for themself in my opinion, and I don`t want to kitten my dps/surv and wear stuff.
Pirate = Vit+Power+ Cond dmg = no mf
Explorer = power +prec + mf = no good for me.
noble = !??
One of the dungeon armor sets from CoE has condition damage + MF.
I was not talking about Dungeon sets / Mad king loot, or anything like that. What are you on about?
To me it seams unfair that the only craftable MF armors / Jewels are the ones with PowerPrec.
I`d like to be able to craft whatever I chose, if I chose Vit + Toughness + MF, I should be able to do it.
Why are we limited to power / prec / mf ? What`s the reasoning behind this (if any)?
Will we ever be able to craft armors / jeweles with both stats?
I play a toon that is specced condition dmg. I`m sure I`m not the only one.
I main a glass cannon ranger which prob the worst thing you can have in this game besides a spirit or pet ranger. And I have a guardian alt.
yada yada
The OPness of theif is not the damage output, its the overall thief stealth mechanic that is way too cheap in this game.
thx for you input.
“thief is in a good place.”
AN: Warr is fine, nerf BS.
It`s called ‘Sunk Cost’.
A “sunk cost” is a cost that you have already incurred and that you cannot recover.
People often have an irrational desire to use products for which they have paid a lot of money, or to continue following a plan that has required a great investment. They think that if they abandon the product or change their approach, they will be throwing money or time away. That’s not true – the money and time have already been thrown away. Continuing to use a bad product or to follow a bad plan is only increasing the amount being thrown away.
Whenever you make a decision, it has to be made according to what you know now and upon reasonable expectations of the future. Hoping that bad results from a past decision will eventually “turn around” if you stick with that decision is wishful thinking of the worst sort. It always takes courage to admit you made a bad choice and that you need to change your mind, but it is the only thing to do. It takes even more courage to try to convince others that they made bad choices and need to accept the sunk costs, but that’s something you sometimes have to do.
