→ For leveling, should one go D/D + SB and focus on cnd dmg? Should one respec at some point as in, do lv 1→20 with power prec, 21→ 40 with cnd, 41→80 water spec?

Any GC(any prof) that does not get hit will never be down. That said, static discharge is as boring as HGH / Grenade etc; As for WvW usage, It may be viable if you roam solo. I tried it and it works ok, unless you run into a good player(not to mention any mediocre thief).
You will always use the rifle and I got very bored/sick of the animation and hip shooting.
The dmg output is decent, and it will be ok for CoF. If you run fractals / arah / any other serious dungeon, I would not recommend it, unless you go with a good group and you are good at dodging.
ectos are used to craft rare and exotic items, buy ascended accessories, make legendaries, salvage into T6 dust (this part is new), as well as other stuff. If you don’t know you need it, sell it. You will get more later.
T5/T6 mats are used to craft items and consumables (mostly just dust), and make legendaries. Harder to justify selling if you don’t know you need it, but it is fairly easy to buy more, so I just sell mine.
mystic coins are in quite a few mystic forge recipes, such as mystic weapons, infusions, and legendaries. I save mine since they come in so slowly, but it’s not a bad idea to sell them if you don’t know you need them.As a general rule, save everything all the time, then sell it when the price for it goes up and you don’t need it soon.
I may be saving for a legendary, but I sold all my ecto when it went up past 24sI’ll get more by the time I get the other parts.

Are there some tables / experiments / movies / sheets where people tried different professions (using similar gear, for example full zerk) killing the same type of mobs? So player lv 80 with zerk gear killing the searing effigy in CoF p1.
And so on.
I`v tried to get a grasp on what the professions can do, and as I understand it, melee = more dmg since more risk; still… the few (around 10) youtube movies I saw covering Engineer, Thief and Warrior do not make it clear:
War
-> using 1h axe, hitting for 2-3k auto attack (searing effigy)
-> using 2h GS, hitting for 15->20k with hundred blades (or what`s the name)
Thief
-> using sword, 3k auto attack
-> p/p unload , 7-8k (that`s ranged…)
Eng
-> took kit #1 (melee), 2k auto attack
-> rifle (ranged), 2-3k auto attack
-> flame thrower (400 range), 3-4k
Now I`m not sure the people in the movies had the same level of gear /runes etc, and I was hoping you guys have some resource where more info is stored, or some links to more movies / theory crafting that will make it clearer for me.

If one does not plan to craft a legendary, should he hold on to any T5, T6 mat, or ectos, or coins? If i remember correctly, ectos are also needed for the accessories that are bought with laureals, correct?
My goal is to make some gold also, so I can afford expensive runes and sigils.

So what people really want is WoW end game. Why? What is so great a out WoW end game.
Because ‘raiding’ was/is much more fun then any GW2 guild bounty / puzzle / whatever. May be because of the quality of fights and the game`s mechanics. May be because harder did not mean “scale the mob`s hp and damage up”.
That was and still is my subjective opinion.

Just won a ZvZ about 20v30 something like that. Tornado in them, then pistol shots with pierce. After it was over I had 2 bags.

Even the WXP is pretty much ‘advanced siege’ system, no meaningful rewards or tools for anyone that might like to actually play with their character.

IMO condition build is useless in WvW where 30% of players are guardians.
But then again it depends on your server, who you run with, against what kind of team, etc.
Necromancers being the masters of Conditions means that they can manipulate and apply many kinds of Conditions, not that they should all stack Bleeds.
Hmm masters of contitions… Like what? If you won`t apply bleeds as a condi necro, then how will you help your party kill faster?

two questions from a guys who mains a necro:
1). P/D condition thief: won`t he/she be in trouble if he will not be able to go melee and C&D ? What if in 1v1 your opponent will dodge / evade when you C&D or you simply miss?
2). 2 x ‘giver’ weps = +20% cond duration? Are you sure they stack ?

I main a necro(for now…). I am unable to catch any prof, if it decides to run from me. Also I usually am unable to escape if I want to run from something (talking about WvW). Yea thieves can escape. But they are THIEVES. Nothing wrong with that IMO.
What do you guys mean when you say “tag people with SB” ?
TAG = hit? does it matter for how much dmg? For example I hit a warr for 200-300, he has 20k hp. My allies kill him. Did I TAG him? Will I get reward/bag/xp?

Not sure where you guys use the horn`s stun, the staff #1 and the staff fear to actually kill people, but they don`t seam to work ‘that well’ in WvW (I`m in T2 US).
Staff #1 = slow sloooow projectile, that one does not even need to Dodge to avoid.
Staff fear = minor inconvenience for players.
Wh Stun = veeeery rarely get to stun anything. More worth it in PvE, for me at least.

The WvW discounts are sheait. At least wvw is better than grinding dungeons or southsun .

Unfortunately for AN, I will always compare a game Dungeon with a WoW(blizz) Dungeon.
Sorry but scaling mobs(more dmg, bigger packs, more red circles, bigger HP) just to make it more difficult is just lazy and lacking imagination.
I find the Eng profession much much more clunky and buggy than the Ranger. People (and elitists) will tell you that Eng requires a lot of skill and it`s one of the best DPS/whatever profession you can find, if you master it.
My opinion is this: the ‘high skill requirement’ is created by the many bugs and the way that the profession trait/skills and mechanics are designed.
Since the name emplies that you will be like MacGyver. But the strange/buggy traits(a lot of them broken since the game was launched) and the way they work and the way in which one must combine them in order to make the profession work, just does not give enough satisfaction. Sure it`s cool to hold on to a Flame Thrower! and have 20 stacks of might! but then check your Combat Log and see the damage output; respec, re-gear and try another ‘cool’ build. That will probably also look and feel nice; but then you check the Combat Log again.
Take the above lines from a guy that has played Eng too much, it`s a subjective opinion.

If you usually play in a zeg or party/group, conditions are not viable. Too many guardians that cleanse every one. No time to stack / spread / do damage.

I also considered that is was because my ping. Then again when I`m in WvW and I`m in deep kitten, I usually end up dead(wish I was looking like a War or Guar so I won`t get kittening focused all the time).
— Scepter hits for about 700-800 on a crit, scepter 3 crit hard and can exceed 2k dmg
— Axe/Focus: Axe 1: hits, does decent damage (550-800 on each hit), Axe 2 channel starts at about 3300 on heavies, to 4700 with 10 vuln stacks, to about 5500 when close to death kicks in (enemy below 50%).
—Dagger is def beneficial: d1 give syou about a 1.2k crit on the first two hits, followed by a 2.8k+ crt on the third chain attack. D2 channel can get you 3800 easy. D3 also great for 1k hit and imobilize .
I would very much like to see proof of this. In WvW, on “heavies” as you said, and on lvl 80 players.

In my opinion ranger and guardian are not that easy to use ‘well’.

after yesterday`s patch, I`v lost all hope regarding the necro prof.
I average 1 / 3-4 days…. you guys are very lucky…
I have tested for myself with my warr and my necro:
– lvl 80 warr, blue gear mostly soldier(or what`s the name); defensive build(traits); blue weapons (1 sword, 1gs, 1 axe)
– lv 80 necro, mainly zerk gear from CoF and some yellow soldier trinkets; defensive traits; zerk dagger/horn from CoF
=> went to mount Maelstrom near the Golem area(random picked zone), and killed all types of mobs I could find.

Impressions:
- warr did more dmg with all weps (even with the 1h sword dammit).
- necro dagger seams ok when you only play the necro, after you compare it with something else you start to see that the dagger chain is meh, somewhat slow, and the delay after the third hit is annoying.
- I had an easier time moving around with the warr, and it seamed easier to survive; must be the gear here, necro had zerker gear, warr had soldier.
- I was not impressed witht the staff ‘utility’ as in, when I had 2-3 debuffs on me (bleeds, chilled) I was swapping to staff, used #4, got the debuffs on the mobs (HA! TAKE THAT MOBS!) then promptly had a new set of debuffs on me… Anyway, this works better in pvp situations me thinks….
Now don`t get all worked up guys, all the above was done by a casual player.
