Oh kitten , your right and i didnt even notice that there is two of those buggers doing that as well. Kinda thought the second one that was shot off front he left was a player but noticed it was also a blood fiend. Guess my prediction goes out the window.
That said. I hope Blood fiend gets something neat, and that it’s not just a map creature. :P

I did notice at 1:50-1:53 you can see what looks like a life blast traited for dhuumfire being fired off, then a green circular aoe with the same projectile circling it. Possibly a new skill we get as a utility or new Deathshroud skill that Dhuumfire affects?
That’s a blood fiend shooting a giant green fireball that causes an aoe with rain fire… That… that has to be part of the map, and not for player use. Watch again, up on the ledge, there is a blood fiend that shoots a fireball down into that spot that causes the ring it seems. o.O something fishy about it though.

The top necro players from Paradigm etc. are all saying similar things re: bugs, balance and design. I appreciate we might not have the same godlike holistic view of the design you’ve created here Jon, but there’s a serious shortage of people who think the necro is fine and any issues are a result of L2P deficit.
I don’t believe I’ve ever said this to a developer before, but if you could provide video proof of someone utilising DS to devastating effect I’d be more than happy to accept your statement as relevant/accurate. The “good PvP” videos of necros dried up immediately after BWE2 and the DS HP/LF nerf.

This was the whole ignorance thing I was talking about. First, 10 second – 30% is 7 seconds, regardless of the tooltip error. It’s also not an “ICD”, I don’t think you know what that means. It’s just a CD, which by the way only starts as you EXIT death shroud. So to make your silly numbers a reality, you would have to flash it every 7 seconds and be literally defenseless otherwise and make no use of it’s abilities, and it wouldn’t be a very successful stunbreak if all you’re doing is flashing it every 7 seconds. The things you’re saying are of almost 0 practical use because you clearly have no idea how a necromancer works…
He didn´t said anything about using DS every 6 (or 7) seconds. After you exit DS you have a CD of 7 sec and you can enter DS again after that time if you need to break stun and avoid a key burst move for example. The option is there.
Which means you would have had to preemptively not used any time in DS just to predict another stun 7 seconds in the future. You’re only proving my point. You don’t understand the kitten class. “The option is there”. Flashing every 7 seconds is a performance nerf from even just using DS normally.
No matter what you do, you’re making huge sacrifices. DS is tied to a necromancer’s defense, offense, most don’t even run FitG because its a giant DPS cut. Taking retal on DS (which has only a minor effect when you are realistic in terms of DS usage) means you’re giving up might on Life Blast. Etc.
Point being, things are being said, and people have no clue what they’re really talking about.

I’m a new pvper, and really terrible. I lose all the time, and I haven’t a clue why I’m losing.
First of all, it isn’t matchmaking it’s you. You can’t expect Anet to pick the worse players in the game to make your pvp experience better. In my experience, it has actually improved in the last 2 months.
Secondly, they’ve never said their goal was to be esports on a competitive level. They already stated what they’ve wanted for the game from day 1. It definitely wasn’t esports. In fact, pvp wasn’t mentioned at all.
There’s a million revisions they could do to improve the pvp experience and little has to do with classes or matchmaking. I could go into detail but that’ll be tl;dr.

Introducing the Necromancer’s elite specialization: “Elite Specializationprofession”!
With trait classics such as:
“Minor trait – does something minor!”
“Grand Master III – Makes you a grand master at something!”
And their new utility type, Shouts! The most common and basic, with a twist, as they now make 100% more sense! New shouts such as:
“AHH!” – Because sometimes it makes you feel better!
And a great sword. It’s great!

Anet said they were reworking traps and spirits for ranger. Guess what? Guardian got traps.
They also said Warrior Physical skills are getting changed, and Engi kits are losing their hobosacks, does that mean Physical and Kits are also become skill types for the new epic specs? (Note before answering that giving another profession kits is practically akin to give another profession Elemental attunements: It’s basically how Engineers are suppose to function without weapon swap)
Then again, Guardians had some Consecration traits rolled into baseline, and I could accept Neco Consecration (Desecration?) skills.
Hobosacks got changed because of popular demand from engineers. How did physical skills change? Afaik they received no overhauls, just a new trait to try to encourage more use, and Mend became a physical skill, but all non-tagged spells got that treatment.
Physical Skills will now scale in effect depending on how much endurance you have. At full endurance, the Stomps will stomp wider, the kicks will send people further, the bolas will immobilize longer, etc.
I’m just saying that just because they changes how spirits work does not mean some other profession (much less necromancers) is getting spirits.

I feel like everybody is getting worked up over something that was done with artistic license in mind…. and we all know how that HoT teaser trailer ended didn’t we? Sometimes guys, a spoon is just a spoon, and sometimes a splash of green in the background is just a splash of green.
This piece conveys everything the previous ones were supposed to convey. A new weapon (Shield, Longbow, Greatsword) new piece of armor (Shoulders, Gauntlets, Hood) and the profession in question (Mesmer, Guardian, Necromancer). I think everything after that is you guys digging for things that just aren’t there. o___o
From the HoT teaser trailer they got the longbow for guardians right.
On the mesmer’s teaser image there was only pink mist in the background , but when they added something (wings) for the guardian’s image it was totally relevant.We may be guessing wrong, but it’s unlikely that the thing behind the necro is just an artistic license. In my opinion the “green splashes” are depicting the new use of our class mechanic (life force) in the specialization.
Am I the only one seeing an insect like spirit in the background?
Can you get a screenie of said spirit and the green splash? I’m not sure what people are referring to. O.o

Keep in mind that some professions are harder to master than others. I believe Necro is the hardest, opinions may vary, but just keep this in mind. No we arent ignoring Necro, but once people start mastering DS, I’m afraid of how strong Necro will be. Give it some time for the average player to learn these things. For example early on in LOL master yi was dominant until people learned how to counter him.
MASTERING DEATHSHROUD!!!! are you kidding me? its a damage sponge that vanishes all too fast against multiple people and is hard to get back up because it requires opponent stupidity(hitting you during a spectral) or them to not dodge the fiew weapon skills that build it… Even if you have a full tank of ds they just need to immob you and cc you till its gone natural decay and all. if you cant master f1 then press 5 4 11111111111 then i dont know what to think… oh and consume condition is like a beacon shouting interrupt me im out of deathshroud and need to heal i will give you plenty of time to do so..

We already know the greatsword auto attack chain. It only inflicts Chill. A condi weapon with no damaging condi application on auto attack would be god kitten awful.

Instead of a tool belt, maybe DS 6-9 have mixes and somehow Necromancer selects which mix to apply to a weapon when not tossing potions.
Would be weird if ONLY elixirs had opposite DS abilities. But I never really thought about that… How awesome would that be if DS 6-0 had its own Utility DS moves tied to each utility just like Engineers? Unfortunately, that’s VERY not likely. Cool thought though.

Unfortunately, though, the best part of elixirs is their 2-part uses for Engineer. Now sure how they’d replicate that for another class. :/

if you are as good as noscoc you would already be in a team and be competing in top levels.
Even Nos got wiped out constantly and is speculated to be one of the biggest “weights” for the team… So… There’s that.
The thing about Necro is it can be used simply because it has enough damage, but its defenses and mobility are where it’s held back, hence babysitting. To be fair, for the numerous DPS buffs we’ve gotten, we didn’t really ask for them. We’ve pretty much always wanted help with 1vX defenses and fixing design flaws, but instead they do silly stuff that buffs our damage which ends up in a net nerf down the road. (See: Dhuumfire)
It helps to know what you’re talking about. Most of the Necros on the forums that see the issues are veteran Necros.

The ranger spirit points are irrelevant. They specifically said already they are reworking ranger spirits to be immobile but much more potent. It’s this specific change that made me wonder about another class getting spirits because it seemed like a random overhaul that wouldn’t seem real likely if it didn’t affect any HOT specializations.
Ironicay they’re reworking spirits in Rangers to be more like Ritual ones at a rather “convenient” time.
i’d be fine with spirits on necro as long as they were not “passive area denial” but instead an active “sacrifice”. they intend to do that to ranger spirits.
gain a weaker self buff on summon, then gain lifeforce and a very strong AoE ally buff/effect on sacrificing/banishing the spirit.
I hope they’re A.) Good and B.) Supportive in nature so I can make a hybrid Minion/Spirit build with OP synergy and a higher skillcap.

If they change our DS into Defiance Bar they will obtain a dead walking necromancer.
We have only the DS to defend us and it’s a very very very bad fedensive skill. If they strip it out of us how we can be not killed easy by almost all the classes with just a lot of dps?
I think the idea is the GM makes DS have a defiance bar with it. It’s a GM trait, so in addition to. Not an elite spec replacement.

The symbol almost reminds me of a shield. So maybe we will have an extra f skill to use/toggle our lifeforce as a shield/health buffer without entering the transform.

W/e though, we’ll finally know if we’re getting shouts or spirits or something else, and if it really is Marjory’s GS AA animation so I know how many people I have to say “I told you so” to.
