if people were smart,they would have done this in free transfers when 1 server was stomping others thru the week, but no you complete 98% of the rest of the game and come here and whine about the “injsutice”.

well, VS actually was weaker at nights than Deso for the last few weeks until we had KAZ, maybe it will change soon, the problem is VS has people every single time of the day, and no other server has, which is fine with us.
The annoying part is they dont come out and fight and jsut sit in their towers and arrow carts during the eu primetime when others are online.

i think RG wants to fights GH on deso, they have shown the interest for quite sometime and SFR is their only hope to get that fight.

if SFR does make to tier 1, it would be nice to see some good gvg between iron,gh, zds and RG, WL,

ofcourse we will get wiped but it would be more fun than fighting arrow carts.

I dont know much about TUP, but i can tell you, not having red guard will not be as big a deal as u make out to be, they have moved so many servers, and i really doubt that any server would actually lose a lit without them.

they are an open field guild, they cannot help u with points, which WvW is about.

i dont think you will fall below tier 3 in any case.

Someday I’m gonna make a video of a nights worth of RG objective capping or something. Not sure where the “RG don’t cap points” thing came from, but it’s not true. Lately we’ve been capping a tonne of stuff during our raids. Sure, we find capping pretty tedious, but that doesn’t mean we don’t do it.

Also, really don’t see why this thread got posted. Can’t Piken drama stay in the Piken forums?

i don’t mean to offend you, a big fan actually, i just meant your play style is more focused towards actual fights rather than the points game that others guilds play,
which is actually a good thing,. you should know what am talking about( hint: our opponents have been VS for a while now).

btw, the current WvW is quite stale imo, tier 1 or 8 doesnt matter really, u don’t get anything out of it anyway, good fights on the other hand and getting to learn from guilds like urs is what keeps me interested atleast.

i dont really know why some people take tiers too seriously though.

yep i did play all but the last 2 matches, and the reason we moved some of our IROn members to watch the water in the later fights was because of it.

Really good fun tonight against IRON in GvG (red map). Our guild (GHO) got invited at the last minute by WL. We were totally unprepared (+we are not a top guild like WL IRON AEGIS KAZ etc…anyway) and wipped in 15 seconds on the first fight, i guess in 30 seconds in the second but we did better in the third. We were so proud to not be totally ridiculous that last time It really got us motivated to improve and up our game.

Thanks IRON and WL for the fun and i hope we can do this again sometimes. (Even better i hope anet will include a proper GvG update sometimes).

Also it was fun to sit next to our enemies and watch the fights

Anet somewhere in oct claimed that have 400k concurrent players and figures should be based on that..

And..i.think it is widely known why wvw lost its charm even though some people and anet dont agree to it.

quite honestly, Moorta has the largest following for a PUG commander and IRON is never by his side, simply cos we dont prefer to play on EB atall, and Moorta is a EB commander, and hence always runs with pugs instead. If u dont like him, just dont run with him or join his TS channel, Its that simple, there are many guilds who use the TS, including KAZ,DsD etc, and ur welcome to run with them.

u are welcome to contribute in anyway if u choose to do so, but please dont undermine someone else’s effort especially cos U dont like it.

he didnt even question the commander, he outright complained and insulted his english.

btw genev, Moorta is more capable and has done more for Deso than the entire 1500 man pve guild did for their 3 servers.

Haha……always good to have people on your own server with humor;) i like that about Deso. I think all guilds wiped eachother a few times…some more then others…..FG still improving themself as a whole…learning from many good guilds out there (RG/KAZ/VOTF/OSC) the thing is adapt and dont be too stubborn to change where it is needed, but many know this allready….Just proud of what we accomplish as a guild

Well if u think people dont look up to moorta. i cant even tell u how wrong u are.. He rallies the pugs and keeps eb under our control. He repeats often cos he has to.. Trust me its not easy to command pugs..and moorta is amazing at it.

I am more of a PvE player myself and moved to Desolation recently for WvW reasons.
To get things done, I have joined a Team Speak server provided by one of the guilds. Nice of them
Now, the part when people follow crazy, repetitive, swearing and undecided “Commanders” is beyond me.
While on Team Speak, there was a Commander, my God, 3 out of 2 word were "kitten " and 2 out of 3 were “I kill you”. All this in the worst english I ever heard.
Joining a TS server is a very good way of doing things, but if some people think that 100 gold buys them something other than a blue sign above their name…

One more thing I do not understand:
I read that Desolation, in my case, does not win because too many players play PvE instead of WvW. thus not supporting the WvW players.
Then why on earth the queue? If there is a queue that means all participant spots are taken right? Meaning even teams right?
Or I am mistaken?

well, Deso currently cannot beat only VS in enitre EU, and the que u talk of is only during EU primetime, try logging anytime outside those 4-6 hours and theres hardly anyboy there,
Also, this week we are not really playing WvW, so u might not even find que’s on primetime.
am curious too which commander is that.

i dont know much about sPVP but my guild has 5-10 people playing in sPVP comapred to 200+ in wvw, i do know several 1000+ man guilds on WvW.

though most of them are leaving or have already left.

Yea, ZD’s is severely underrated, they were one of the last guilds to leave FSP to SFR.

i’d love to be a part of this as well, wanna see how IRON fares as well,

WvW is all about coverage. If you were on NA than you would understand how stacked JQ really is. They have ZERO coverage gaps. All BL’s have queues practically in all time zones.

VZ may be able to kill JQ in their primetime but that means absolutely nothing when JQ can night cap it for 12 hours at 400+ ppt.

what do u think VZ has been doing for the past 7 months?

they nightcap with 600+ points in tier 1.. and u know why i say VZ will beat JQ?
cos they use tactics that other teams dont even dream about( i could give details, but the moderator will remove the post).
just check tier 1 EU thread for their “tactics”

600+ ppt in EU is most likely very different than NA. Do EU’s even have Aussie/NA/SEA/Oceanic guilds? From what I have read, VZ just stays up to cover their gaps. That is completely different from NA servers where we have multiple 500 member guilds as night crews.

how does it matter if NA/SEA or whoever plays as long as u cover 24 hrs, which VS does on EU at least by a strech. but i guess we wont know until they face each other,
but for now, as it stands VS is has a far better record than any server including Jade quarry and it doesn’t look like they will be replaced anytime soon.

If there are no nightcapping problems, then why is a server with 10 oceanics scoree way better than the other servers which doesnt have them?

maybe “nightcapping” is not the right word, but it doesnt hide the fact, that score imbalance needs to be looked at!

i’ve never seen a strong argument against it.

just some baseless rhetoric, “what ifs,” and copy/paste responses of those.

the best i’ve found was made by a fellow in a similar thread who pointed out that while it may be better than the current system for many or most of the tiers. it would possibly periodically ruin the one or two good matchups that do occur here and there.

The strongest argument against it is the second placed server who is not able to win the Tier will always focus down the third to avoid losing a tier, and there is no workaround this.

for example, Desolation now is in 2nd place and cannot beat Vizunah at the moment, but they are out main target, if the rankings change, this will complete switch to us focusing down only Elona to survive in Tier 1.

All this talk about Red Guard. Never had the chance to fight them and would REALLY love to get the chance as I have very high confidence in being able to beat them on their terms.

However Red Guard is a completely worthless guild as for as I can tell, when they came to my server Jade Quarry all they did was take up valuable WvW slots they do nothing for the PPT and in general I would rather have PuGs on my map than them.

JQ has been the ONLY SERVER to stay at tier 1 since game release. Being number 1 numerous times, sometimes 2nd and 3rd but always at Tier 1. It is now the number 1 again and even if it goes blue (2nd) or red (3rd) again, it will be back at 1 eventually as it is the most (not powerful) but toughest server out there. Players and guilds are consistent and keep the fight on.

Pfft, compare it to Vizunah’s record :P, even though i hate them, they are good at what they do.
Vizunah actually dominate Tier 1 EU, and JQ barely survived it till now in NA.

The only practical solution is global servers, nothing else.

the sooner Anet realizes this the better for everyone.

Also, my guild has certain renown in skirmish combat… we do what we can. As GM, I closely monitor all my soldiers, how many times they die, the success of their builds, their share of the work, their performance in small fights, duels, etc. I can say with no doubt that our most skilled member is a woman. Frixa please stand up.

As an IRON member, i have to agree with Ogre on this about Wrex, she has a weird attitude but works really hard and very dedicated to keep desolation where it is.
Also for Yanox, very didicated towards IRON.

I have also been on both sides of either dominating or getting dominated.
The problem i see with wvw is too much emphasis on score and who wins rather than good fights.

Zerg vs zerg or small teams…all are fun as long as u get to fight.which is getting rare these days.. Its moee about coverage and sitting in ur tower ro accumulate points which is the boring part.

really amazing garrison hold today at VS Bl,
surpirisngly VS came to fight for a change, we still hold garrison for over 3 hours with all walls and front gate down, but VS just keeps coming, nice to fight them for a change.

i know this will change when weekdays start and VS will do thier routine, but for now its quite fun.

Moorta definitely doesn’t get enough credits for his work,
he is by far the most important commander on desolation.

There is no more jumpers & NA players, we finally see the true value of former bandwagon servers that accuse us of boring gameplay while they have play only monozerg of 60+ guildies three primetimes a day against national pugs server. :o)

This quite honestly is not a night capping issues, more of how the points are allotted for the effort put in.

right now, my 1 hour effort at morning is a lot more fruitful than my 1 hour in the evening, which is wrong in my opinion.
