What u have to worry about is the population ur server has. Instead of ending up in a ghost town.
They are introducing individual rewards soon so its bound to change.

We have had the same issues for months. It frustrating to see people at spawn being afk with auto heal on.

Haha, the only monthly I’ve completed was the first one in September because all the rest required dungeon runs.

I managed to complete this last month with great difficulty. I didn’t.even attempt it this month.

Yup gonna be delicious seeing the qq about how they grinded FotM and now everybody can acquire it relatively easy (depending on cost).
When the whining started with the implementation of the ascended gear it’s also one of the things I posted in reply to the complaints that it was only acquirable from 1 place.
A.net had already stated it would be added to other parts of the game as well and more items would be added so I told them it would be stupid to grind for them now and I would be lmao when I would just acquire it through normal gameplay only a couple months later.
A common counter argument was that you needed it now already to stay competetive in WvW about which I laughed again and to date I didn’t get roflstomped by anybody, regardless if they had best ascended you can get atm and legendary or if I was on any of my 2 mains in full exotics or an alt in rares / green combo.
Hoping it will be some of the same whiners I already discussed with so I can quote myself for a change and laugh even harder.

Well we QQed for so long, the least we deserve is this, if it happens.

Pathetic, we have lost one big guild that was our main night crew, PRX, also we have OSC in one week break. And TWO full population servers still need to coop to be able to handle us, a medium population server. You guys really are bad, u better go play xbox, really.

Am sure even u will agree if deso goes to tier 2 it is because of tier 2 failure to compete with elona. However i think its good that we go to tier 2. It will avoid lot of bandwagon who will instead go to sfr. But i don’t think we will stay in tier 2 for more thank a week.

i play www cos i love it for the competition it gives and great people u meet. Being on a low sever doesn’t provide either. Instead of staying there and eventually get bored and leave, isint it better to join higher tiers and enjoy www the way its meant to be played.

Gunnar’s Hold-EU has been in t8 for the past 3-4 weeks, and in those past weeks i had a lot of fun in WvW due to our server giving its all to achieve victory.
I doubt Desolation has ever reached t7 or t8 so i would refrain jumping to conclusions and say that it’s boring or that we aren’t playing WvW “the way it’s meant to be played”.
Our server went from t3 to t8 in a couple of months, being stomped week after week due to bandwagoners wasn’t fun.
In t8 we found balance, and from there we started to organize again.
Now we got a huge influx of players transfering on GH that will probably lead us in t5-t4.

Morale is; it doesn’t matter if you are in t1 or in t8, if the matches are balanced you’ll have fun for sure.
No one has fun being stomped every week, but thats due to a flawed system that i hope will be fixed with paid transfers and future patches revolving around WvW.

I was actually on fsp since release . But moved to deso when fsp hit tier 5. I play on gmt +4. I used to not see another soul for 20-30 mins in tier 6. So i moved to deso as a lot of my timezone from ME play there. The worst thing in www according to me is not having ppl round. recourse culling is a problem in higher tiers but it is getting fixed this month itself or atheist a part of it.

Nope sfr has always been medium populated. Also same for deso has much less www pop but huge pve pop. But still tier 1. u see the trend?

Also the gem prices tied to population is highly misleading.
Example fsp is in tier 6 and designated as high population and see is medium designated but tier 1.

The problem here is that the EU and US are separate systems – if you are on a EU server you can’t guest on a US one and vice versa – so to make this happen they need to remove that barrier which i would like for them to do but don’t see it happening soon

I don’t know much about technicalities but it doesn’t seem to be a problem in a lot of other games using this system.

Its not necessary to have only 3 factions..
U have have 30 and have the same tier we have now. Each tier will have 3 fighting against each other.

Population is not an issue as outside of tier 1 and prolly 2. Nobody has even 2 bus full even at primetime, leave alone off hours.

I read this in one of the threads and i think its a great idea.

currently nightcapping is a major issue in www. its very apparent that na guilds seeking oceanic presence and eu seeking na presence.this can be solved by using factions where anybody from any server can play on the same faction. this will give plenty of social opportunities and Europe and NA to play together. paid faction can be brought in instead of paid servers.This will also show the true population of www instead of pve population like it currently shows.

it would also be fun to mix the offensive eu and defensive na.
na will get the coverage they want and Europe will get the fights they want.
it will also stop people from burning out and whining.

Not every server in every tier can be competitive, there aren’t jsut enough people in wvw to make it so.

it all comes down to you, whether u love to WvW in its full glory or just stick to ur server.

i honestly would rather have a populated wvw than an empty one where u dont see anybody around for hours.

They are actually dropping a whopping 8 places with the current score, down to tier 7

We cant control that ER is against 1 dead sever and another weaker server, in any other circumstance Deso would stay T1 for quite longer.

In my opinion paid transfers are the best thing that could happen. Atleast now you wont have entire guilds with 300+ members hopping about. And the fact that its cheaper to hop to a low pop server means that populations will stabilize eventually. Besides. You dont really HAVE to pay to move. One can always grind a ton and exchange gold for gems if needed. 30-35 gold(thats around what 1600 gems goes for) is a week of grind at best.

Right, it’s really annoying to see people complaining about paid transfers incoming. Free transfers are a HUGE problem for WvW and people need to realize that some damage is going to be caused as a result of a fix for something that NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE! There are a ridiculous amount of guilds and individual players who are server hopping and destroying communities and upsetting the balance on servers because they want to be on what they perceive to be a current winning server. This free transfer system throws server loyalty right out the window and everyone is jumping around on a whim when things are not going their way.

It’s an immature, “I want the best all the time or I am going to pout” attitude and WvW will be a mess until free transfers go away. OP is complaining about the short-term and not realizing that free transfers are catering to and allowing the reactionary crowd to mess things up. Massive server hopping has been going on since day one, yes it’s happening a ton at this moment but people need to deal with it.

We need servers to become stable and for people to sit down and stay put or stop playing. Stop with the knee-jerk reactions. Free transfers need to go NOW!

I’m not sure, have you ever paid attention to our Elona Reach before? We’ve been bouncing from rank 8 to rank 2, back to 7 and then rank 3. We are used to beeing to good for tier2 and not international enough for tier 1. With most NA Guilds now out of the Picture, we are almost on even footing with other t1 servers. Granted, that remains to be seen, but right now i got a good feeling.

So if Deso has that Problem now, get used to it. We’ve been living with bouncing around long enough, thx to massive Servertransfer every week. Finally this will come to an end and we can settle down where we belong. Wherever that might be.

And don’t think t2 will be easy. The current Match-Up includes only two Servers and Kodash isn’t as bad as the statistics make them look right now. They are simply overpowered by our numbers, with Arborstone out of the picture. Pretty sure they will put up a very decent fight in a “real” matchup.

we haven’t had a nightshift atall for a long time now, so NA being there or not doesn’t really make a difference to us.
last week we finished 2nd despite sfr having prx on their side, if we go to Tier 2, its only cos u don’t have competition in Tier 2 , its something that we cannot control.

Hahahah… Make up your minds, before all I read was people whinning about free transfers and now the opposite. This community will never be happy.

I was never against free transfers and/or paid transfers, either way it did not bother me. The issue I have is giving people notice, when Anet must of known what would happen. Arborstone was a fantastic wvw server which has now had its wvw community pretty much destroyed.

Although i will miss Arborstone (one of the best servers i’ve ever fought against), i don’t see your point. Giving them a bit more notice would have been nice, but it’s not gamechanging. As far as i have been informed, they likely would have broken up anyway. The End of Servertransfer might have acted as a catalyst, nothing more.

So, this threads seems a bit like QQing over things that have been long coming. We knew that end of server transfers would come, many of us hoping for sooner then later. When the message of the end arrived, there was euphoric reaction in our Teamspeak Server on Elona. Finally no FotM Server anymore, like Blacktide. American Guilds leaving EU Servers, another good thing. Elona Reach always had a very strong nightshift for a EU Server, but we had a lot of trouble to compete with Guilds from overseas, leading to Raidleads that almost suffer from burnout syndrom. This was always a problem for our non-english speaking Server. Now we maybe compete with other Tier1 servers once again.

So, I’m quite happy. Servers with a loyal Community will survive this without a scratch.

i fear you dont have enough time to bring back BT in competitive play, as its less than 10 days left for paid transfers to come into effect. and its human nature not to take any risks.

The way Elona is killing T2, its for sure that either deso or VS will be in tier 2 next week.
