are guilds CIR THUN etc still playing?

Havent seen them around lately.

The only usefull thing they do in my opinion is take down siege with lighting, others are negligible.

Your asking a lot from them, they dont fix even small bugs for ages in WvW.

however, this site and currently the only available to us WvW players tracks a fair bit, you can check each servers points held thru the day or at least whenever it is updated.

i don’t mean to be negative but, u already missed all the glorious moments of wvw,
however,the positive side is, by the time you figure out wvw and start hating it like the rest of us, the Feb update which is supposed to be a game changers should come along and we all can enjoy it once more………………………………………………………….Hopefully.

I think the main reason GW2 separated EU and NA servers is the physical location of the server banks. All the EU servers are ran out of a server farm in Europe. Linking them together would add lag and longer data transfer time. GW2 already cant support the current data transfer and uses culling as a poor mans band-aid. Don’t lean on the broken rail.

Actually, the rankings and ladders are outside the game.. They can create a single ladder without even merging the servers or data centres..

Its also not nice to discount so many guilds by saying desolation is tier 2 only cos of Iron and kaz.
Its like saying bt is only good cos of chaos(xaoc). And disounting every other
Guild on bt.

And people hate ruin for a reason..and am sure u know it.

The usual what is known for ages now:
Thief class, culling, nightcapping, lack of rewards, small maps, no variety, lack of ladders etc etc…..oh most important: the developer thinks we dont exist atall.

Kudos to arborstone for holding bay for so long yesterday evening.
We trebbed it for 3 hrs and u kept repairing ur walls over and even without supply.. We evetually got it..but it was quite a good fight there.

I don’t think you should go on the server you are facing at that moment to “steal” their members. To me it’s kind of low and gives a bad impression about all of the Blacktide players. As if we are trying to convert the enemy to join us…

If you want to do this, do it on servers we are not facing at the moment, there are enough servers out there. Maybe try it in lower tiers if you really want to recruit players?

The thing is, they were on Desolation before the WvW reset. They had no way of knowing Desolation would be paired up with BT and that’s something you seem not to be aware of. Regardless of that, suggesting that this is somehow a form of sabotage or that it will reflect in -any- way whatsoever in the WvW score is ludicrous. There are no devious intentions behind this, I just wish this was clear to everyone.

He’s DkR’s commander, and I’m DkR’s leader. We moved to Blacktide in October along with our allies CIR, ThUn, INT and HRSY and helped the server get from tier 4 to tier 1. After winning tier 1, many of our members (and apparently much of the server and/or game) started to lose interest. Tog is just shopping for recruits at the moment.

I leveled an ele almost entirely on wvw..the biggest part of ur xp comds from xapping and ressing. Also a bit of gathering..
It took me 125 hours.

Wow, Thers absolutely nobody online in BT and Deso, and about 30 Arbo are capping everything.

Anet should really do something and fast.. i am all alone there,unable to to anything atall.

i prefer deso stays in Tier 2/3 for sometime, a lot of hate flying around in t1 and unfortunately in t2 as well this time, but still theres more respect to opponents in tier2/3 from the competing sides which is a good incentive to log in and play.

Well most of the EU is asleep when ur active, however, KAZ legacy is active at that time and also speaks spanish, try checking with them!

Well anet should have forseen such issue before deciding the split between EU and NA rather than having global servers, hope they at least fix it in the Feb patch.

Maybe adding a boss or whatever might work, but for it u need balanced population, which is the 2nd biggest issue currently behind culling.

The bigger zerg will always beat the small server over any such events, i really dont think it adds much to WvW,

However, i would rather go and fight someone and die, repair armor go back and fight rather than wait in a keep for some AI boss to spawn to fight over, its not what PvP.

However, this is only my opnion.

i know that, but some of the videos ive seen on youtube have much better rendering that i have on my system. surely there must be something we can do form our side at least to minimize it until there’s a fix from Anet.

Why are people hell bent on adding more and more NPCs and AI in WvW rather than PvP always beats my mind..

At this rate, there will be 98 npc’s and 2 actual players in each borderland in less than a year, similar to what LA is right now.

The culling and lag issues are getting worse for me everyday, i know its part server side and we cant do much about it until Anet fixes it form their side, However i would like to know what setting can i use from client side to reduce these issues,

Since i play WvW almost exclusively, the Art and details is not that important to me as it is in PVE,

I have tried many things, like lowering the resolution, reducing all the settings to low(even though, my system should be able to handily everything on high), removed post processing,

has anybody found anything decent compromise on setting that they are statsifed with?

I would put my money on NA

NA would win, na plays for points and win.. Eu plays for fights and fun.
NA will win but eu would wipe NA zergs 10 times over. Different styles of play really.
Choice is simple actually.
If u want to win at any cost, go to NA, if u want agressive fights then go to Eu.

This is why we need global servers.

We know anet meant wvw to be casually played, however it has become very competative. Humans by nature are competative and unfoetunately anet didnt forsee it. They might as well accept it and do something about it.
WvW currently is missing a very important feature of statistics.
1. Profiles
2. Rankings
3.realtime online scores
4. Leaderboards/ladders
5.any kind of statistics.

Many people including anet might not realise its importance yet. But its one of the only out of the game features that keeps people hooked for years and years.

Blizzard supports its players with this.. You will still find current rankings for even games released 15 yrs ago like warcraft 3 and diabloprogess.com is another good example.

Solution: in a recent intetview, habib said thwy would rather focus on in game updates first and even realtime current score online ia not in the works yet due to lack of resources. The easiest solution is to throw open the raw data to the community, corrently our only reference is mos.millenium.com who are doing a great job. We all would be surprised at what the community can do. Have faith in it.

Arborstone is low now cos most people left to vs last week to defend against sfr , this is why vs is comfortably leading tier 1, expect them to come back to
arborstone tomorow/friday and wipe deso off the 2nd place.

Just join the 1st server in the last tier of eu currently it is whiteside ridge.
These servers are too strong for the other 2 and hold 95% of the map at any given point. Then u can transfer back to ur server,

Yea but reddit is a pve fanboy thread, they wont take critics likely either. Especially about wvw which i am sure 95% of reddit dont play and therefore dont know/care about wvw atall, barring a few logical people.

However anet pays close attention to reddit even more so than thier own forums for some reason.

I think an easier solution is to remove badges entirely and make karma usefull. Karma is not hard to come by and people like me who dont want a legendry dont know what to do with the 750k karma ive saved up.

Closest is reddit and gw2guru.. But gw2guru wvw section is next to dead for obvious reasons and reddit is pve oriented(not much discussion about wvw there).

How enthusiastic people can get about WvW! Shows only how much they like it I guess…

Now a brief introduction of myself: I play on Elona and I think it is easy to misunderstand why players from Elona react like they do (or I like to believe you guys misunderstand them and not that I misunderstand them). I think that I am allowed to say that Elona at German primetime is a nasty enemy, capable of delivering some good fights. And that is how it should be! Going into a fight knowing that it will be a hard piece of work, not just steamrolling over the enemies all the time. Victory is sweeter that way and defeat not so bitter.
The thing is now, that we from Elona know that we have the ability to be good (and at the moment we even lead!) but, as said earlier, we have vacation here in Germany, which means more people playing at night. At the same time we know that this won’t last for long. And then we have a problem: having enough people online at night. It is frustrating to loose against an enemy that you cannot fight, because you need to sleep. Even more frustrating when you know you could beat that enemy if both of you were in the same timezone.
It is then no secret that our vacation time will end and our performance at night will suffer. It is no secret that Desolation encourages guilds from NA-Servers to help their WvW-team. And when both these things come together, and Desolation fights with Elona again it could turn out rather different than the current meeting.
European servers recruiting American guilds to help them at night seems unfair to us, because we cannot really do something in game against it. We are pretty much helpless against it.
And for all you bright people telling us to try and do the same: well who in the world would want to join a server, where everyone speaks German but you?

In the end Elona needs to accept this part of the game. To play at the top means to have strong night presence. A strong night presence is easy to get, if you have players from all over the world on your server. Having players from all over the world on your server is completely fine, because ArenaNet dos not stop it. Thus it is playing by the rules.
But try understand the situation for Elona and then you will understand why some need to flame a bit on the forums to let out their frustration (even if it is indeed not the right place for it). And do not mistake those who do flame as representatives for the whole Elonian community. We welcome everyone who joins our server and you will know it, if you can understand German!

OK, so we hiring night team(which isn’t there btw) is unfair to you and u steamrolling us on your vacation time like right now is completely fair then??

Right now, Deso has 10 people on our own borderland and Elona is running with 30+ on our borderland and your server is ticking 450+ for the past 9 hours is also fair as well.

And then you flame us still. maybe for a change why dont u look from our side instead of playing the german card every time and how the universe is against your server and how you are the big victims of language servers.

i fear this Feb update is so hyped and make or break fo a lot of people that even a small misstep from Anet will result in an outrage or just dead WvW.

Anet, please listen to the WvW before making changes going by every major update we have had so far, almost every update has missed something major and creates a storm.

Why all the hate on desolation? we are in 3rd place, miles behind you both but still ur threatened by us. we are recruiting cos we don’t have enough people anymore, if you don’t believe me , how many deso have u seen on elona BL this whole week?

we have the same people juggling between Deso BL and Arbor BL and few dedicated guilds in EB, we don’t have people to even start the commander event at Elona, and yet we fight in T2, if you want all this mud slinging, please go to T1, they just love such fights on forums, we are here to fight hard and be respected for it, and the we show the same respect to your opponents.

On EU, its undoubtably FSP for me.. Amazing people. Good community.
They got night capped from 2nd rank down to tier 6 now. And u dont see the 10% of qq or ego that top servers have. Only downside is.its not too wvw focussed.

A better solution would be to remove jp entirely from wvw. It doesnt help the server atall other than small siege drops which can be dropped from lords instead.

There goes the deso recruitment for a toss, The feedback on IRON should be either on IRON forums or in an appropriate section , it completely derails the efforts to recruit an already struggling server trying to pick up itself back up from what happened previously and has already put off a lot of people from joining Desolation, and we should to rebuild it as a server and show others why Desolation as a server is a good place to be.

I wonder, how the entire Trading post is accessible via third party sites and gives live updates on each item,
However, when we want live updates on WvW scores, we get the above reasons.

rally sad news, i now honestly think they dont care about wvw at all.
how difficult can it be for live updates, currently we have a 3rd party user driven website that can manage it, this really shows the lack of interest shown towards wvw.

There is a whole world filled with events and AI npc to people who want to do that.
WvW was intended to be PvP..maybe notardcore spvp..but still pvp
Please keep it such..
If anything , they should work on population and coverage issuesrather than adding more and more npcs.
