Thank alot guys.
What about a Scepter+torch, will that setup benefit more with power/prec/condi? No2 scepter ability cycles pretty fast or is it not considered as a condition?

Should it be Power / Precision / Condition or Power / Precision / Crit damage?

I went Human for concept and roleplay.
But I admit, I’m jealous of Norn hair. And Norn faces. And Norn abs.
i loled hehe
My Warrior is Norn (racials are crap) and my Guardian is Charr.
Why Charr? Looks ofc. I like the badkitten and personally i think, all dungeon armor just magically fit on the Charr

If people are nearly dead, u TP in the midst and hit a couple of fast big hitters, they will down. Its totally situational and many classes can do it.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
Okay. I overclocked it to 4 ghz
Look at this link and tell me please if my voltage and temps are fine, ok?
http://oi46.tinypic.com/fcpjbc.jpg
drop the voltage lower, run prime and repeat
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
Now the question is: I’ve OCed my CPU now to 4.0Ghz on a stock coooler and I’ve got 1.20+ voltage, can i lower it in BIOS or is it too dangerous?
It all depends. Especially where you live, because of the ambience temperature. Another big factor is the case air vendilation. Do you have a good box with good circulation pushing out the hot air or does the hot air mostly stays inside.
All these things must be considered. But u can try and stress test with prime95 and see what u see. there is no way u damage ur cpu.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
i run my 2500k at 4ghz (stock 3.3) @ 1.12V.
The reason your OC fails probably is due to the turbo (automatic) voltage, which in most cases is ALOT. Change your voltage manually along with changing the multiplier, just two simple steps and try again. If u are going for 3.8 which i think its better for your stock fun, go for 1.0V. If u have problems put a tad more juice in it.
You dont need 6hrs of Prime96 testing. 15 minutes will more often than not tell you if you are stable or not.

You do realize that the Elementalist is a better bunker class than the Guardian and also has quite a bit of access to cripples. Where’s the balance there?
i’ve yet to see a “bunker” Elementalist, going into the heat and surviving more than 3-4’’. There is no such think as bunker Elementalist. Its only called bunker because it has high endurance compared to a non-bunker Elementalist, but falls down faster than saying hello.
Assuming we are talking to elementalist vs multi that is.
Bottom line, you just cant keep the capabilities of a race car and at the same time being as comfy as a limo.
So far the sum of the conversation is “Hey im in God mode (cant die) but ppl get away from me”.
On the other side of the horizon, there are tons of classes with cripples and gap closers who cant stay alive long enough to actually kill a Guardian. They only change is to run away and bring some friends.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
(edited by seithan.4823)
I think its all about balance. A class that admitedly doesnt die unless u fock up, you have to sacrifice time on target to retain the best support/durability in the game.
You cant be 100% on target while retaining that much of defence (armor+heals/removals).
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
did the same thing on a guardian on my warrior with my hammer i didnt get bag of loot but the seer joy of it was worth 1000 bags alone!

unarmed combat, the Charr should win. Do you know any single animal, that a human-form can prevail on? The humans have no arsenal on their use except medium raw power, channeled through punches, kicks and grips.
On the other hand an animal and esp a feline, has power + dexterity + natural weapons (which will incapacitate opponent or bleed to death or maim).
There is no real argument here that a charr in unarmed combat would prevail by a long shot.
Just remember that a human without tools is fodder.

Its a known issue guys and there is no fix as yet.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
I see, still the description is faulty : it sais “Reflect incoming damage back to the source” while in truth it should be “Inflicts damage back when hit”.
As in the good old “damage shield” buffs.
There is actually at least a “real” reflect effect in GW2, that is in the Warrior class, when traited the shield upon block will reflect the full incoming damage, back to the source, while you get none of it.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
560OC is pretty solid option.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
I run with the drivers 306.97, the latest for the now and i experience clipping issues with the textures. Even the previous version and the version before that had the same issue. Textures go inside each other and mingle. I can see objects i.e. NPC or players through the objects like walls or terrains when this is happening. And it only happens when the camera slides to some position that its not friendly to that matter.
Is there a fix or is it a known issue?
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
Is Retaliation acting as a damage shield? Which means every time you get hit you will damage your opponent (Retaliation reflects damage based on level and scales with power, increasing damage by 1 for every 13.4 power. At level 80, base damage is 267. taken from Wiki), or will it reflect the damage and not get hit at all?
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
me, not at all, im prec/power/toughness mostly and my shouts are supportive. I think going full clerics with all healing gear u can get, you will actually make him a full healer, granting your allies a healing efficiency as good as their own personal healing skill.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
mace/shield combo does great when u go turtle mode. 2 interrupts, 2 blocks, it aint too shabby. nothing like WoW shieldwarrior but this aint WoW anyway.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
2.6k is alot of healing per shout but that means making my warrior swinging a wet noodle. tbh its good support nevertheless
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
if i were you, i would go with full knight setup along with zerker gems or runes to boost critical damage. Also full dps traits, like str/prec/discipline.
That way you should be about 2400armor, which is not all that bad and still deal more damage than you need.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
The reason rifle is better in pve is that it apply dots. But that will only trully do it, if you go condition build.
Ive run full ranged setup with rifle / longbow and condition/zerkers and it works great, albeit the damage is much lower than melee.
Personally im now using the longbow as a sidekick, since the direct damage is much higher than rifle (without condition armor boost) and you also buff group and yourself with the aoe fire + arrow explosion which is not shabby at all (+3 might).
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
I use the regen signet along with 3 shouts for buffing/debuffing and healing.
The Dwayna looks interesting as in when u get hit u will gain a regen. Which is usefull ontop of the shout build. Also whenever u use a direct heal, like shouts, u will also gain a regen and the group ofc. On the other hand, thats alot of stats to waste which should go in damage imo.
Personally i have a mix of 3x 2set runes, that two of em increase boon duration and the other increase just might. So in sum, my might buffing lasts for much longer compared to layouts without boon/might duration and i thinkittenep the damage up much longer (usually i run with 11+ might stacks just from self buffing).

tbh the dungeons are off a different mindset. In the beggining i was also frustated by the difficulty and lack of rewards.
but rewards are there: A full dungeon will get you one piece of armor from the vendor. Two days worth of dungeon runs (3paths x 2times) will get you any exotic weapon or so.
So in the end, getting armor is quite fast as long as you get passed the initial phase, that is wearing greenies.
To me, i just log in for some wvw, some dungeon and all that for fun. i have two sets of armor on my warrior and all possible weapons so i just log in to swing. Thats what i like.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
basically its NOT the animation. Its the effect during an activated signet. Its supposed to be fires or something and its something recently added. I dont remember it a week or so ago.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
thing is berserker’s stance is not in defence. im assuming that the protectors defence should be somewhere in the defence trait line.
i wouldnt mind it at all but that would make us too powerfull imo. i dont mind it but it would never happen.
keep in mind that those ressilient tough as nails guardians have at many cases 10k less health than we do! imagine us with our superior health pool plus protection!
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
so let me get it straight. The trait is working? But only as soon as i engage in combat? What?
And how much power i actually gain from the trait that my damage increases according to the number of boons currently on me?
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
@Ivanov: Please remember that everyone has an opinion. Even morons.

@krog: Which trait heals u from adrenaline?
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
i vote shouts too. go knights armor and at L80 with just 300 healing from the traits u gonna heal for 2430+ each shout. not shabby at all.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
and btw crit warriors aka zerkers are about 18.5k health. so he has 3k more than you, are you saying you are at the ball of 15k HP?
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
like how much vitality you have.
guardian is the most tanking class in the game. warrior doesnt even come close, no matter what he is squishy
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
i prefer shouts, the buff is considerable for me and my company. It also works the same as a shout-healer.
Frankly what i DO notice in dungeons is that whatever i bring in a group, without a Guardian taking the major burn (and surviving) and buffing/healing group while he also tanks and dishes out damage, i cant survive jack even in full def and 3k+ armour.
To carry on my thread derail, we warriors are sooooo infinitelly squishier compared to guardians.
Comming back in the thread i have talked over warriors who went either shout healing or flag healing after laying out those logical arguments about group survival.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
Video was fun.
According to wiki, to beat through full plate armors, before the evolution of “accurate” high power firearms (and bullets), you could use the evolution of a 2hander sword, which had no cutting edge at all and acted as a pike.
One of its designs, “a hand and a half”, the blade was actually rhombic and 2/3s of the rest of the blade was made to keep a hand on and use it in leverage. Those swords was sturdy enough, long enough and heavy enough to manage a stab on the plate. You could also grab the sword from the point end and use it as a hammer, crashing the sword guard on the opponent.
The evolution of the evolution of 2hander swords were types of polearms, even longer and more suited to fight en-masse the plate users. Those fitted with a small axe or bludgeon edge (and a puncture/grip end on the other side) were very effective due to longer reach, weight – if u use it as a bludgeon or the accute point at the end to penetrate.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
Double checked it, and my group doesnt get the benefit. Neither do i.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
@Obed, everytime i relogged (past tense) in SWTOR since GW2, it left me with a sour taste – for many reasons: Ability delay (huge and neverending), outdated combat and what not.
Rangers need mobility, stuns and close ups. A good ranger is pain but a setup with either healing + stun + mobility (be it 1h-sword/shield or GS + hammer and other combos) can make up for a fair fight.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
I picked a Norn and i would pick any other race except maybe Charr.
My Norn is not totally huge, he is the shortest but well over 2 heads from the tallest human. Armor looks GOOD.

Has ANET activated guesting feature?
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
Tbh the game follows the common sense logic:
Berserk Guy comes screaming at you from 20 meters with a big kitten claidheamh mòr. You pick your ranged weapon up (pistol/shotgun/rifle) and you plant 3 bullets in the chest.
Guy lays down in blood and gore 15 meters away.
If that doesnt convince you, show me ONE game that melee combat in pvp is superior from the various forms of ranged combat (physical or magical) in pvp.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
zerker + melee is a bad combination albeit fun (at the begining). You are right that he is probably the least dps engine in there if he gets downed pretty early in the pull.
On the other hands there are fight in favour where he gets targetted less and survives more. His damage output is incredible at that point.
If he likes glass cannon no argue here but i think he will get bored with it and will turn in toughness builds and armor.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
i think for dungeons a zerker gear along with full def/vitality traits works very well.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
I switched talents into full defence and tactics for things like longbow range and shields and play the rifle along with the longbow.
Put it the shouts traited for heals and i can get 12stacks of might with signet + FGJ + burst longbow+arcing blow.
Almost full zerkers armor with the tougness from talents + additional life from tactics + additional life from arms trait (power into vitality).
Nice dps/survival ranged setup and i enjoy it.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
most guardians i encounter with a sceptre will finish me off. too much damage and too much ranged
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
A guildie of mine swears that when closing at 25stacks along with 25stacks of condition damage boost from from weapon insignia (10 condition damage bonus every time you kill a foe), he should be doing about 2.5k/sec. just alone from the bleeds going.
This is only hearsay, and i dont know where he got that number from.
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
cant see the link, i think its not working.
GS will apply crits, not many but it will. Im not staying on GS more than 100b usually, a whirlwind or so, i switch back to 1h sword/axe.
My question still stands unanswered. Will a full condition build offset a full +crit damage build?
Rig#2: Core2duo@3Ghz/ 4GB DDR2/ 9800gtx+
Im trying to understand if ditching critical damage for condition damage worths it.
I test a full build in SPVP and it ticks for 100+ damage, with something like 1300 or so condition damage.
On the other hand, a warrior double decked with GS + Sword/Axe and with about 60% crit damage, do about 1500sh crit , which is almost per second, not counting 100b. The sword crits aswell for about 1000 damage and the Whirlwind axe will make about 5k in 4s.
So at the top of my mind its about 300-500 more damage from critting.
Can the condition damage even come close to that sum of damage?
