Personally I think for a frontline build you lack the “supportive” skillz a guardian could potentially bring to the fight, the hammer GS guardian is good control but works better for small roaming groups and not frontline zergs…
That link is what you’ll find a lot of guards use in pug zergs….
Quick points:
-The hydromancy sigil in hammer is handy as hydromancy chills, does damage and is also a blast finisher on weapon swap… (so use purging flames before swapping to hammer for extra might blast)
- The clerics gear on just armor should be enough for a full health heal from your staff might when using Altruistic healing
- High uptime on stability (very important especially if you’re frontline with the driver)
A lot of people will have different builds to what works for them so you will have to work out a build that works for you aswell, what I posted I feel is just a standard meta of what guards should be using in pugzergs

If you read the OP, he says he knows there are other exits etc, he is asking peoples thoughts about the behavior, not how to get around it. If you looked at the pic, thats hardly a roaming group lol.

The OP never stated this place was in WvW. The closest is this line: you can’t use Teleportation Device in WvW at all, including Edge.
And in that he actually stated Edge which referst to that this place is in Edge of the Mist and not in WvW. Oh and WvW forum is also EotM forum.
It’s kinda sad to be smart kitten about EotM when it could potentially bring more people to WvW which is lacking players on lower tiers at the moment.

On the topic tho.In WvW you can actually place siege in siege locked place as long as you throw the siege from a place where there isn’t siege lock. So I suppose this is true in EotM as well.

Spawn camping happens when you’re looking for fights but the enemy won’t leave spawn…
look at [TIE] from IOJ, IOJ was getting spawn camped until [TIE] took a different exit forcing the spawn campers to search the map for them just for a fight.
If you sit in spawn, then all the fighters WILL be in your spawn.

Perplexity runes by themselves aren’t problematic. However, when combined with certain condition specs, they make for an incredibly deadly combo that really doesn’t require much skill to play.
A number of posters here seem to think that people who complain about perplexity are spammers or bad players. Far from it. Perplexity makes apply confusion a trivial matter, and what makes these perplexity specs so punishing is that confusion is applied on top of other damaging conditions that punishes any action, including condition clears and (in some instances) dodges. If your build relies on incremental condition clears (e.g. thief using sword 2), then trying to clear conditions while you have confusion will often kill you before you get rid of the confusion. Similarly, if you trait for certain dodge effects, even dodging can end up killing you.
Even if you stop using skills, you have to worry about the rest of the damaging conditions ticking on you. You might survive, but the time you spend not attacking your opponent is time they can use to wait on cd’s or time they can use to play more aggressively against you.
Is the rune stronger than other options like balth or krait? Debatable, but it’s a moot comparison, since the runes accomplish very different things, and it might be the case that all three of the condition runes are too strong. At the moment, it’s unclear whether the problem is with perplexity runes or with the larger condition meta.
The best way to deal with perplexity roamers is often to just walk away. The game isn’t balanced around 1v1’s, and the set becomes much weaker in larger groups.
This is why I found perplex a problem, but I have conformed and as playerbase said, you only die to perplex if you bad, and turns out since using perplex just about every 1v1 encounter the enemy has been extremely bad.

I ended up conforming and now roam on a dire/apoth perplex engie, drop a crate, apply confusion then stand still and bomb heal myself while they kill themselves…
Applying 20+ confusion at the start of the fight isn’t OP is it? Especially when a necro applies torment too! as people said though, just stand still and take it. Dont attack!

I went to T2 for roaming and guild raids… the raids are kittenin fantastic but the roamers, wow… So much perplex…
Most mornings before work I like to have a roam and find some fights, but since coming to t2 I have had a hard time finding anyone to fight that isn’t a perplex tank…

While they can’t actually harm the players themselves, they can harass them (emote spamming), troll them by killing enemy NPCs (kill off the siege merchants so they are forced to go to another map to buy siege, for example), and just spy in general.
I would immediately report any enemy player I see in my map’s safezone, and I encourage all players to do likewise.

I did. You’d be surprised at the kinds of players I’ve run into in my years online.
I have met people who genuinely believed that if the devs made a mistake and a bug/exploit existed, then it was their God-given right to exploit the hell out of it until it was patched. And they would raise holy hell about it afterwards if they got suspended/banned because “it’s the DEV’S fault!” Yeaaah, then by that logic, if you accidentally left your house door unlocked and somebody got in and stole your stuff, the thief was perfectly justified in his actions and should face no punishment.

I dont see what the problem is. Yes players shouldnt be able to get in there, but we can.
We all know that they can do little to no harm in there (and on a positive note: all friendlies have invulnerability, so shouldn’t take too long to get them down).
Golem stashes, on the other hand do not. A couple players can do a lot of harm in there if nobody’s around to stop them.
It’s a valid tactic to walk into enemy citadel and destroy golems just like it is to treb your enemy spawn on a borderland to destroy golems they have been building up for a golem rush… It’s dirty, but if anet lets you do it then you might aswell abuse it until we are told otherwise. (haven’t done it for a while as PPT is not somethin I care for anymore)

From time to time during the “sneak attack” I have been throwing random catas at random spots to see if I can blow stuff up from silly places…. I know you can cata from up on the ledge and place siege there but I recently discovered standing on that ledge and throwing a cata on the gate resulted in this picture.

After a while you don’t really need the editor, it’s main use I found now is for guild builds but in general if you have all the gear + spare sets then you can just slap kitten together from your inventory while on the move depending if you want the 1v1 burst or be a 1vX survivalist ….. Assuming you can render enemies before the name tag shows up.

GOM > FA > GOM > IOJ > GOM > CD > IOJ > BG > IOJ > FA…..
I try to follow the fights and at the moment DB/FA in T2 are dukin it out daily while YB arrow carts the fight from the towers

Good build, I used to run it before I got back into zerg busting and some other variants but I haven’t used those guardians since I made my 3rd one for guild raids.

someone with 3k AP is going to be more ecstatic towards WvW compared to someone who has been in WvW since beta… Nothin was meant to be implied badly upon it, newer people are a bit more PPT focused naturally and there is nothing wrong with that, that’s how they want to play the game.

Some players who win all 1 vs 1 fight are very bad in real fights. They don’t know how to use siege and zerg fights they just running outside fight and try to have 1 vs 1 fights. Totally useless players if you ask me.
It’s a legit tactic, scour the edges of a fight, assassinate any tryin to leave the zerg to refresh, stomp him and rally 5 allies… It’s seen in GvG’s a lot too I believe, the thief tryin to take out an ele or power necro

The ranger didn’t even need to be buffed, players were that bad at working out how to use the ranger they decided to "buff"it to make it more user friendly for the general population… I have 2k hours on my WvW ranger but I havent used him since the patch as it felt skillless to pewpew someone to death from 1500 range away…
The ranger has so many damage buffs in the traits alone that a longbow rapidfire spikes at 18k and AA average out at 5k a hit.

I just moved to your server where white swords are not an inssue but for t3 and under there really needs to be white swords to help counter population imbalances…
PPK should counter population imbalances and white sword means you NEED high numbers to take any thing making it a passive game. No white sword makes it more of an active game.

Sometimes if I have a cata against a wall and a zerg comes and hammer trains me with all that CC they often end up knocking me through the wall or under the map depending on how close I was standing to the wall…
That pic with that cata I can hit outer and inner garri, but if a warrior hammer stuns you there, you end up being smashed into the cliff and forced under the map, but rarely does anyone check to see if people are catapulting from inside garri on the cliff lol

It’s actually great from my point of view to see the Devs out and about again in WvW, for a while there I thought maybe WvW was cast aside due to the low revenue we produce compared to the PvE playerbase

I transferred to a new server, made a new guardian and now everyday on that toon alone I have to select my finisher everytime I stomp someone because it keeps reverting back to the basic flag…
Does anyone else have this issue?
I also got a new PC and when I log onto the old PC I don’t have to constantly fix my finisher, so I know it has somethin to do with my new PC if anyone can help meh?

If this test event just brought out more K-Training on your server, well sorry to say but sounds to me your server is just a K-Train server to begin with. Sounds to me your server lacks decent roamers and scouters.
Let me guess.. Before this change you all stack on a commander and run around taking things while reacting to white swords on the map? Now with no white swords your stuff gets constantly flipped? YUP K-train server. Break out of your zerg for once..

Erm, no not really… I is on IOJ in [DOLO], and before the change we were only using white swords for fights… As for stacking on a commander… LOL, what commanders haha
Well we fought IoJ the week before this no white sword thing and I can tell you I solo/duo’ed a few of your towers when swords were in play. I did it to bring out fights which never came.. Like I said lack of scouts and roamers as far as I can see.
during what time zones, EU is dead i am 1 of the few eb EU roamers ioj has, NA is mostly active ( no idea about SEA or OCX)
I’m mostly OCX, but I changed servers shortly after I made my post… And being on a more populated server I don’t even notice the white swords change, people were everywhere…

If Anet have already planned to keep the changes they have made, maybe the community can come up with some ideas they would like to see to help balance the changes a little.
My only idea is that they could remove costs to upgrading structures or add an ability to “hire patrols” upgrade that grants white swords to a structure.
