I don’t think you understand the concept of RNG. I guess when you are having bad luck, why blame yourself when you can easily blame an unrelated mechanic.

Ele is a junk class. I’m sorry that you can’t see past your own abilities and find that it really isn’t worth playing for anything more than the playstyle at the moment. Just because I can “make it work” doesn’t mean it works. Every other class is purely better than the ele right now. If, for just one second, we could get everybody to understand what we mean, I’m pretty sure you would agree. I shouldn’t have to master my class just so I can compete in PvE. Do you have a build that you use that doesn’t have any points in arcana or water? All eles are forced to put points into arcana and water for the most part.
A lot of people here will not disagree with you, just like a a lot of people will not disagree in the other class boards that THEIR class is junk. The reality is that, fixing balance is not a priority for them, YOU as an individual might not like it (personally I don’t) but I gave up the illusion at 10 years old that the world matches to my desires. So calling it a junk class might making u feel better short term but it wont change anything, until the critical problems are fixed.

To all the people using the phrase “We have the right” the reality is that you really don’t.
We can all agree that the elementalist needs a good buff anybody that says is IMHO needs to tell me their secret. But unfortunately, topics like these are serve no purpose other than people making LOUD unnecessary noise. They have said in the past, once bugs have settle down and the meta game is down, they will start talking balance. You can argue, but hey they shouldnt have released the game with these many bugs, but unfortunately they did and that wont change the reality those bugs need to be fix.
Making angry post and labeling ppl that don’t agree with your PoV as fanboys in a civil discussion makes all your invalidate by other civil people. I would like the ele to be brought up to the level of all the other professions and I hope that Arenanet is hoping the same thing, but like everything it takes TIME and resource both of which are currently being used up by other critical bugs.
So you can keep making angry post threaten to quit, but it wont change the fact that just like in any major project the are priorities and atm those priorities seems to lie with the bugs. BTW in the future if you lack the patience needed to wait for balance, you might want to consider waiting a few months before purchasing an MMO.

I really hope they add weapon swap to Elementalist.. I think all classes can go from full mele to full range. Heck.. even Warriors can do it and they are the epitome of MELE.

When I’m Dagger/Dagger and I need distance.. I’m practically screwed.
they are not gonna ever add weapon swap and quite frankittenhey don’t need it. except for damage, comparing classes is pointless since each class has it’s own mechanics in theory. But honestly adding weapon swap will make the class OP a LOT, unless all the skills are redesigned to take into account having 2 weapons.
Also if you are in D/D and u need distance disengage, we have a lot of cap closers which can be used to escape combat. There is nothing wrong with picking your fights, that is part of being a good player.

elementalist has only one real flaw (except for the usual bugs), it is its really really really really really really to the infinity+1 low hp. I don’t know wth Arenanet was thinking nerfing their damage while nerfing their HP to oblivion and I am not sure how it manage to leave private beta in its current state ( a little overly dramatic I know).

Bugs are part of major release especially of games in this scope. Even if the game wasn’t ready for release, crying about it now isn’t going tot change anything. If you have issues with bugs (we all do btw) but are not willing to deal with don’t buy an mmo until 3 months after its release.

So getting rooted to the spot when Ride the Lightning bugs out is not class breaking? Or trait’s not applying bonuses in various areas not class breaking? What about the various abilities that just don’t work…I guess they are not class breaking either, right?
All those are just inconveniences, also RLT bug sucks but it is not that bad (not saying I don’t want it fixed), but it doesn’t really affect me in a major way and thus not a class breaking. class breaking means, the class just doesn’t work AT ALL, the elementalist is not in this category (again I like to say I would love for these to be fixed asap, but they are not class breaking). All your issues can be avoid by using a different option for traits or weapons. I still use RLT all the time so and I adjusted my playstyle to account for the minor broken traits. Either ways, our issues are far less than necromancer just fyi.

i find it really weird for non hod players to complain about hod queque times, anyone?
i have been getting intant queque from 1 am up to now still in wvw on hod (and have been for more than a week), during prime time its about 1~2 hour queque time, its not bad at all actually.
whats the point of that graph comparision of wvw queque times of hod vs kaineng? they arent in the same ranking or put in the same wvw bracket, most of the top servers are always full or at high pop throughout the entire day (not just peak time). Simply looking at wvw queque time is not good enough, what you should look at is server population vs wvw queque on said servers.
Server population is not actually a problem, its the organization of the ppl that are actually online to cover a 24/7 war that is. Thats not an imbalance. -.-
You are getting instant queue in hod at 1 am. Anybody can get instant queue on any server at 1 am except during the weekends. The difference is that HOD still has a lot more players in WvW even if the queue is not met.

This thread is so ironic. Not only did OP not say that, but no grind means not having to do something over and over again. That’s what dungeons are. You do them over and over again for cosmetic skins. That’s cosmetic grind. If you don’t care about cosmetics then why are you even commenting? Go and stand around in your crafted set being AFK.

Grind is something that is needed to progress further in the game. Unfortunately, for you pov, cosmetic aka skins do not help you progress the game any further, is just something nice to have. I have crafted gear so what? I saw the dungeon gear hated the look and started focusing on thins I actually enjoy.
You are pretty much angry that you have to work extremely hard for Lamborghini when a Toyota will get you to the same place at same rate (assuming you follow the speed limit).
The reason I m commenting is because you don’t seem to have a basic understanding of the word grind. And you seem to be perfectly OK in swimming in your own ignorance (which is fine, except that it starts to shape the uninformed opinions).

People who like to equate the drive to play mmo’s to “progression”/ “obtaining stuffs” as opposed to “having casual fun” are likely to be disappointed. Nothing wrong with that imo. But I fail to see how threads like this do anything to fix the issue and only serve to exacerbate an already tenuous connection between the two player types.
Not to start a personal attack but the other guy has been saying this same kitten for nearly 8 months know, which begs the question why he bother to buy the game knowing full well that its post-endgame content wasn’t like WoW?
guild wars 2 just like guild wars 1 isn’t going to appeal to the hardcore raider. I am glad that Arenanet isn’t making the silly mistake of trying to beat the Current King at its own game.

The trading company is very well done however the fee is a little over the top. After calculating how much profit I would make from selling a crafted exotic on there I was like “oh ye I can make 50 silver profit if I buy all the materials from the company”. However I was wrong. The fee was soo large that I actually lose out on 15 or so silver therefore crafting is worthless and it’s best to just sell raw materials but I could be wrong.
Another disappointment is dungeons. In my opinion it seems they were made for the traditional tank, dps, healer trinity then it got scrapped and arenanet didn’t change the dungeons to accommodate their own trinity. I really can’t think of how now but it really needs to be redesign so that they are completely with more teamwork and skill rather than aimless rolling out of mobs of NPCs and brain afking trash while you strafe around for 10 minutes.
If you followed the development of the game like me, you would know that heart quest exist solely for people that needed quest hubs and needed something to do while they wait for dynamic events to happen. It was a compromise, because MMORPG tend to need hard holding.
The fee on the trading post to me is needed to keep inflation in check. Just playing the game naturally will give you a lot of coin, now imagine over time as it builds up, so people that play less would be unable to afford anything. Something like this happened in gw1 where after a while alot of the population could not participate in the market because everything was beyond their means and guild wars 1 had very few gold sinks.

I have been level 80 since the first week, have full exotic and I have only been in AC story mode once. So I cannot honestly see where this so called grind is. Guild wars 2 is designed for you to the player to play naturally, not for you to try and pound your head into the pavement doing something you hate.
When I hit level up I was still in level 60 rares because I did not feel the need to change my armor as a matter of fact I did not realized I had level 60 armor until level 75. Most games you couldn’t do that.

At level 80 I can either craft, rely on world drops for gear, do WvW or group content for gear. In most MMOs, you pretty much had to do raids and with lockout timers. In guild wars 2, you can do the same instance back to back.
Honestly, based on your post nothing arenanet did was going to make you happy. You had build unrealistic expectations in your heard but more important you don’t really seem to know the meaning of grind.
Also to the people saying guild wars 1 was different, it is apparent you never actually played the game at release because gw2 is exactly like guild wars 1 except for the no henchies, monk and instance (all of which I personally i m glad they are gone).

I m just gonna put it here but I think superior rune of warrior should reduce the CD for attunements. If sigil effects work during attunement changing then runes effort should work as well and thus I am classifying it as a bug.

I find your last sentence reversed. If all you want to do is have fun, then yes the current WvW is interesting, but if you are doing it to win, then really what’s the point?Do you get epic loots at the end?
Do you get your name written on the hearts of your enemies?

That statement wasn’t really contradictory for the following reason.
WvW unfortunately is dependent on people actually wanting to do it. From my experience in Aion, there is only so much losing a person can take before they say what’s the point and quit. WvW at its funnest for me is when we were all fighting equally during the first 3 day, now I personally don’t care and I hate the fact I m losing not because our strateg sucks but because one server happen to have more oceanic players.
BTW my statement wasn’t meant to be taken to its absolute limit. There is only so much crap i can take before i say whatever and do something else.

WvW has always been a 3 way realm vs realm 24/7 epic persistent on going battle. I am not sure why is night capping even looking downed upon at all, its intended that way and servers that have the organization to have presence 24/7 should be top, and not punished. Having 24/7 coverage is actually THE best strat any server can and should aim for.
Whether something is intended on not is irrelevant. And yes we are QQ because we actually like WuvWuv and want it to be active. Realistically, people are going to soon start giving up once they figure out that on matter what they do all their efforts go in vain later that nite because one side happen to have a lot of oceanic players. The same thing happened in aion.
WvW is a competition between 3 servers if 2 of the servers are not active then it is not working as intended and should be fixed. If all you want to do is win, then yes current WvW is interesting but if you are doing it for fun then really whats the point.

The other side of this argument is that without the 24/7 chance to come back HoD would have lost within the first weekend.
All it would take is a few hours of two servers ganging up like happened this weekend. SBI and ET essentially kept borders with each other while beating down HoD and put them back what 30k and 10k or so, respectively.
Now that its a complete 3 way and the scores are even in NA primetime there would be NO way to catch back up if not for nightcapping. Population balance is the ONLY way to fix these issues. The same has been true for ALL 24/7 pvp fights in any game. You can never mechanic your way out of this problem.Let’s say for a moment that HoD didn’t have the massive night crew.
As SBI pulled further ahead, it would be my estimation that ET and HoD would begin double teaming them back.
Then ET would pull ahead, and SBI and HoD would beat them senseless.

Agreed, the only real problem is that this mechanic requires enough time to pass to allow it to work. Right now pairings are too short in duration, even at 1 week, to give this time to work as intended. Which is really a big part of the problem, we are seeing (and reacting to) spikes that would, over time, level out quite a bit. The pairings just do not take place over long enough periods for this to ever happen.
Well, these spikes occur once every day. I don’t see how they would level out, since it is the same server that gets pushed back during the day, and explodes with massive map domination every single night.

True, but without with a limited duration coupled with a win/lose mechanic (point scores) nobody would care. The average would be (more) acceptable. For me, it’s everyone worried about the score that is the issue. Frankly, I hate that there is a publicly viewable scoring system.
I agree that the score total is perhaps a bad idea.
It could be cool, if the matches were balanced – there was an anti snowball mechanic – and some kind of reward for 1st AND 2nd place.
Without those things, it seems relatively useless for any positive contribution to W3.
Hmmm, I’m not sure if you understand my argument. I don’t want there to be a 1st and 2nd place. I want a war/battle with an ebb and flow, not scoring. I want to take X, Y, and Z today knowing as I do so that I will lose them. However, the tide of the battle will change over time. Today, my server might hold the majority of the territory but nothing is set in stone and tomorrow half our lands may be taken by the combined effort of the other two servers working in unison. There should never be a situation where players can look at some numerical value and decide they have “lost” so there is no point in playing. An epic battle for territory that never has a declared “winner” (or loser) is what WvWvW should be. Make the buffs/advantages received by taking territory (and the orbs) server wide and significant enough that people will drop what they are doing to help take, or defend, things. Anything to turn WvWvW into just another meaningless mini-game is the opposite of what I expect out of the game.
Scoring, ranking, winning/losing just makes it another arena, and just as pointless.
Making buff significant enough that would get PvErs to drop their 5th run throught Cof is not a bad idea. Making so that tokens or gold actually see a big enough dip or increases that makes it so that everybody and their grandma would want a piece of the action. But i think think the points should be hidden from players though.
minor bonus for not participating for the ppl totally afraid of PvP and major bonus for each minute you spend in WvW.

OP might work 9-5 mon-fri but NA does not close down at 5pm, its 24/7 just live WvWvW is, get owned or do something about it that doesnt punish the entire playerbase for being at work or sleeping during “your” primetime
If you are not gonna post anything intelligent please dont post. I will humor you though, considering the current score between SBI vs HoD and ET, I can safely say that a lot of people are on a 9-5 schedule, so I don’t exactly see the point you are trying to make.
The reality is that WvW should be a battle between 3 servers not a battle between who has the most oceanic players on a NA server. We on SBI and ET can fight play equally against HoD during the peak time but what good does it do if everything you do gets rendered useless during off peak time?
If you are doing WvW purely to win, the current system works well for HoD. If you are trying to have a battle of minds then the current system does not work and eventually just like aion, it will come crashing down and burn, assuming it isn’t already showing symptoms of it.

The self-righteousness in this thread is overwhelming.
What if the situation was reversed? You dont see players outside of US calling
it “primetime”. There is no primetime in a 24/7 evolving battleground. Proposing
a so-called fix when there isnt a problem just shows how conceited or misguided
you can be.
The last time I checked it was a NORTH AMERICAN server and it should be treated as such. You don’t have to agree with me on my method but you most accept that the current format is not working as intended because all it takes is 100 oceanic players to gummed up the progress made by 1000s of players during the peak times of the NA server and that is a problem.
Also If statements should be left for the programming. If statements, unfortunately in the real world no solve problems. lets see how that works IF I had my way all EU and Oceanic players would be restricted to their time zones, see how ridiculous IF statements sound?

Some system maybe that makes all points on the maps (Camps, Towers, Keeps & SM) worth a % less of there value.
What also might work would be making value change constantly depending on WvW population, for example
at 100% filled instance for all 3 servers (so 100% / 100% wvw population);
Camps – 10 Points
Towers – 20 Points
Keeps – 50 Points
Castle – 70 PointsThis would ideally be primetime population and therefor points, during off-peak hours were say one server is 70% (the EU-night capping guilds) and others say 30% each (so 43% total / 100% wvw population);
Camps – 4 Points
Towers – 7 Points
Keeps – 22 Points
Castle – 30 Points
(43% of value rounded up/ down to nearest 1)This kind of system would reduce the effectivess and mass lead given to higher EU populated US servers whilst still promoting night cappings for additional points (the more EU players you would get on, the more overall % wvw population so more points)
Thoughts?
Oh no, we are about to lose, SM. everyone log off to make our point loss lower.
Variable points based on participation create a system where it can be advantageous to not log in on purpose.
And they still get points so whats your point? And it will be during off peak hours so the strategy of logging of wont even be effective.

I know you are trying to troll but do a better job at it. I have an alarm clock and it is to wake me up for work.
Here is the reality, you might be perfectly content with winning via oceanic players but eventually every server fighting against a server with a 24/7 presence is going to quit. Then what? There is no glory in winning if you are fighting against noone.

I am having so much fun with this matchup. As a HOD player, and a member of TA…It’s a bit frustrating to see all the extent of the flame war, the QQ about night capping, and the QQ from my own server about being ganged up on.
As an ET player, I have to agree. Frankly, the last few days have been the most fun I have had in WvWvW yet.
As an SBI the last 3 days up to monday morning was fun. We were fighting against each other back and forth. Unfortuantely, the flaw of WvW finally kicked in. I see one of the problems with it being that the devs are unwilling to make hard choices with respect to population balance. The top and lower tier matches are going to get screwed while the middle tiers get good matches. Kinda wish I was in the middle tier, it will be fun, exciting while still giving any of the sides a chance to win. The top tier you are screwed the moment monday morning hits.
The middle tier matches are all the same, too.
The reason is because no matter where you fit into the grand scheme of things, one of the three servers WILL have an opportunity to full cap while facing little resistance, and then it’s a downhill ride from there.
When i meant middle tier i meant SBI, ET and JQ, in terms of coverage per say.

HoD should be put with the Euro servers since all they play is off hours. Its no fun to have no one to fight at prime time and then you wake up and they own everything because everyone on your server is sleeping.
Get peek hours for servers and match them accordingly.
Both ET and SBI have a strong oceanic presence. Maybe you should check your fact first. ET and SBI are servers that play on ‘off hours’ too.
You are right they got a strong oceanic presence…unfortunately they probably all PvE, I don’t know just guessing. Since this is a topic about WvW, the only thing that matters is that clearly they are not doing WvW.

Servers that play against HoD will eventually stop investing time and money into WvW if the nightcapping continues. There is no point to invest so much when it’ll be taken away when everyone is sleeping or working.
They need to do something about HoD, period.
As it stands they are in a league of their own due to night capping while #2, #3 and #4 are fairly balanced and then everyone else is way below them.What will happen is #2 and #3 will always lose to HoD and #4 will always win vs #5 and #6 which willr esult in #4 moving up every week to lose to HoD only to have a new server fall back down to #4 to dominate #5 and #6. Week after week after week.
Ya, but 2 always gets screwed. Which right now is SBI and it sucks for us. I just want a fight against JQ and ET without HoD.
I propose, get rid of HoD and make it into a new server lol.

You guys are all talking about the point system, which I used to do too – but you’re missing the point.
It isn’t about the points, it’s about the objectives themselves. Scaling the point system means the night capper is only 10k ahead instead of 50k ahead – BUT they still have fully upgraded and heavily sieged keeps in YOUR territory, massive stockpiles of supply, and long range siege pointed at your spawn zone.
Doesn’t matter what the point score is, you still have to find a way to get your first tower back.
I think you are right that the snowballing of objective based advantages is a problem. You are wrong though, to downplay the scores. The scores make the game pointless after getting nightcapped once.
That’s true, and as I’ve said before the score does matter because it generates (andkitten interest in the game.
But the score is really a symptom of the problem.
The scoring system, will keep players in the game and not just have them completely give up. Also your point about all those upgrades would be valid in a 1v1 server match. But when you are up against 2 other servers, it would be extremely difficult to defend all your keeps even if they are all super upgrade except possibly the Stone in EB but that should be nerfed a little more. And if they can’t take it back maybe they should lose.
My point really is to prevent servers from just downright giving and stay in the match.

Implementing the systems listed above, that supposedly are designed to “not punish NA players,” are instead punishing coordination, preparation, and understanding of the WvW system for servers that a) field 24/7 populations or b) have a strong Oceanic presence.
I think the only thing that has merit is hiding the score, but then again, someone will just make a spreadsheet to track everything.
WvW is a battle between 3 servers. If one server is fighting against nobody it defeats the purpose of even having WvW be about 3 servers. In theory, at the end of the week the winner should have outplayed the other 2 servers, in most cases however the winner is decided because they manage to amass a lead when nobody is fighting against them.
It doesn’t take any coordination to fight against no enemy does it? Anyways, it doesn’t matter the scoring system needs to be fixed so it doesn’t reward fighting against nobody.

I agree with the responses here for the most part. The entire WvW scenario is designed for advantages to snowball. Winning begets winning…
This may be fine if the only intention is to declare a fair winner at the end…but if the desired outcome is a fun match for the entire 1-2 week set then it is currently failing.
I totally agree. this reminds me a lot of aion. Ncsoft did not want to force population balance and eventually both sides just gave up. The losing side first did then with no competition the winning side later followed suit.

2. This is a ‘hard’ fix. While it’s sound in its basic idea (“hey, these times are unbalanced, lets unbalance the scores to compensate”), it completely disregards how many people are actually playing. I’ve proffered a similar solution… Somewhere, I can’t remember where it was, but it’s not difficult to math out a formula which diminishes rewards based on current population of all three servers on the field.
3. Removing the MMR system would make it even more unfair and more unfun than it already is. As a top tier player, you’d be matched against servers which you’d absolutely steamroll- that’s fun for nobody involved.
1. I did not expect people to like my first solution, also there is no evidence to support you claim that they are not at least 60k oceanic players, i guess I should have said pacific and south pacific.
2. My solution is going to punish people FAR less than the current system in place. As stated in my slightly overly dramatic OP, the currently system already punishes NA (which are the majority on the NA servers) during off peak. Also my solution does not in any shape of form disregard the amount of players playing in WvW, for all intensive purpose if you are not in WvW then it doesn’t matter how many ppl are playing. Anyways the basic idea is not to punish the main server population because they dont have a few pacific players. I think WvW should be a battle about skills not a battle of recruiting a lot of pacific players.
3. Removing the points will take off the pressure of winning, it will be a battle just for the fun of it. No harm no foul. It will still internally calculate points and match servers based on those points but as someone above me said, the players will not know. I think most of the fun in WvW is about taking and defending keeps not. Just to add, servers will still get bonuses for holding keeps but it will just be a progress bar.

I am a player in SBI and so my suggestion is based entirely on the battle between HoD vs SBI vs ET but some of these suggestions might benefit the game overall. Over the weekend, SBI and ET were able to amass a significant point advantage over HoD but in less than one night, all those points we amassed are now pointless due to the lack of any competition during NA off peak hours. The current scoring system unfortunately punishes NA players for sleeping, working, having less oceanic players, but more importantly it punishes NA players for daring to choose an NA server. A counter argument could be made that it’s a 24/7 battle deal with it, well from my experience given the choice between dealing with it and not aka quitting guess which one players usually choose? I think now is the time to change it before ppl start completely giving up.
Here is what I propose, some of them like the first solution is going to be unpopular but think of it as “for the greater good”.
- Create 3 oceanic servers and require all oceanic players to play on those servers. Of course this is dependent on the implementation of guesting and influence transfer.
- Acknowledge that people have to sleep and stop punishing players on their home turf. The implementation would be as follows: 12 am -12 pm accept these as off peak and 12 pm to 12 am as primetime for all NA based servers. During this time, if the outmanned buffed is on longer than 15 minutes per map all points will start degrading to a maximum of 250 points (all maps combine), this means even if you hold everything you can only get 250 max. This could even be made to work 24/7 on servers that have larger WvW players, but for my purpose i propose the 12 hours version. ADDED: I just realized that since they are 3 servers it might be a problem. So instead of relying buff maybe make it so that points are worth 50% of their value from off peak.
- Get rid of the point system and just make it related to the bonuses and randomly pick matches based players population.
If you have any more suggestions or criticism, speak up. Also I just want to add, this whole “servers” are going to balance themselves out, at least in the top tier.

This bug has been in the game since betas and I will keep posting it until it gets fixed.
Switching to Air attunement while having target selected activates auto-attack. It is very annoying especially when are you trying to run away from mobs, switch to air attunement, character starts attacking the mobs, you are slowed – in combat.
Please fix this already.

I don’t think that is a bug, when you switch to air attunement Electric Discharge traits activates assuming you put more than 15 points into air attunement. If you did put 15 points into it, then it is not bugged and you need to read your traits.

disclaimer: I don’t do Spvp since i find it boring but I do solo a lot in WvW and I am only level 66 with crappy 60 rare armor.
I get into a lot of 1v1s and 2v1s againt mainly 80s and I use a scepter and dagger I can honestly say the ele’s only real weakness is their extremely Low hp. Other than that, I run into zergs, i kick level 80 butt (maybe they are bad 80s I don’t know) but i m in general whooping butt. The only real time I ever meet my downfall is when I get zerg and/or when i forget to cancel my target and use ride the lighting back into the zerg.
But honestly, I think the ele requires a high skill cap. I know for sure that I cant play it like I do my ranger or like I do any mage class in other games, because each attunement change requires me to think ahead, which pretty much requires some twitch and memorization.
Again, not claiming to be a pro, just saying based on my experience the hp and the bugs are the ele main problem or at least those that I have encountered.

Guild was 2 is the sequel to guild wars 1. So while the mechanics have changed the concept hasn’t really changed. In guild wars 1, you got hit max level in a day or 2, if you put the effort into it. There are people like us that will burn through the content in a week due to how much we play the game.
The difference between you and I is that, 80 to me was a stepping stone for all my main objectives while you rushed (aka played the game for a lot hours per day which it is still rushing whether you agree or not). The funny thing I read about gw1 expansion model (everything 6 months) was that the majority hated having expansions too soon, amazing right?
I digress, the point being you could always hit level cap in guild wars series really fast, but what kept you wasn’t the level, it was the personal objective that you set. Whether it was getting legendaries, armor or just PvPing all day long. If you approached guild wars 2 like WOW or any typical mmo, where the content is 80 heavy (raids etc) then guild wars 2 is not the game for you. You might like guild wars 2, but you don’t respect guild wars 2 aka the ideals behind it (whether they work is a different story). Also Arenanet is fully aware that some people like you are gonna burn through their content which is why they openly say that if you like raiding or anything in other mmo put the game down and go play that while you wait for more content and when you miss gw2 come back to it. Guild wars series has never been about the hardcore 10% of players, it has been about the other percentages.
Also Swtor did no fail. It had 800k subs when it decided to go f2p. And it failed mainly because the amount of money invested in the game did not pay off properly. investing 150 million on a game about voice over in a genre where few people actually care about story and voicework is not pay off. Also based on their survey 40% quit because of the sub clearly that was a barrier of enjoyment which fortunately guild wars 2 does not have.
Make no mistake, people like you are the minority even if you got a few people agreeing you with. Hopefully arenanet sticks with what made gw1 such a great game and not like it become a typical mmorpg that we have all played and hate (well me anyways).

I am a guy and I like that bow. Nothing would be more awesome than killing one of you clowns with a rainbow bow. To me that is insulting in multiple way, getting owned by me and getting kill by rainbows.

It seems to me that its more of a bug. I mean because every other class that have a very similar skill can do it. i suggest reporting it as a bug.

I am pro-rare recipes that require a significant effort to acquire. Something like a mark of mastering over crafting, which pretty much require you to find rare materials (all soul bound) around the game world and craft this ultra rare item. So pretty much legendary recipes.
I am not for better stats, because that will just lead to the same problem. Everybody will want to do it for the better stats, but a lot less people want to do things for the cosmetic appearance which will reduce the amount of crafters w/o Arenanet doing the dirty work directly.

2. jewelrycrafting requires FAR less mats to craft each item than almost any other crafts. But more importantly, you seem to be giving ectos some arbitrarily higher value than the other mats, which which again is not.I just leveled my jewelrycraft to 400 today it took me last time AND money to do it than it did for my LW and huntsman.
One Glob of Ecto goes for more than 3 times more than any other craft mat on my server. So while it may only be 3 i can tell you on my server those 3 instantly make it cost more than the 15 fine mats i need to craft a rare on my armorsmith. Add the fact he still needs 15 items that run simular cost to my 15 fine mats and he has a reason to complain.
Your argument fails when you realize that arenanet does not set the prices for ectos. The market determine that other mats are less valuable than Ectos but that’s besides the point.
I can tell you that powerful bloods(400) more than ectos on certain days, also the TP is global not server based. AND I can tell you that getting gossamer, leather, ecto and blood is much harder than getting ectos. Anyways, if you cant understand that then further discussion with you is pointless. the point being overall, jewelrycrafting has it easy compared to the other crafters.

Except for the clutter direct trades cause on chat. The reason why they will never ever have a direct trade is because the TP act as a way to gold sink and it allows them to easily track each trade.
Also to all those people saying, other MMO had it, so? Other MMO have the trinity but that isnt in the game, nor are 8 rolls of skill.

Given how every player even noobs can buy a commander manual and play commander, which means eventually the whole map will be full of commander icons. I would like the ability to turn off the commander icon for each individual player. Right now it is already cluttering my screen imagine a few months down the time.

Its funny, everyday IN WvW it feels like JQ is out to get us (SBI), you would think they would go after the bigger prize, but nope, they help HoD constantly whether intentionally or not.
So if JQ isn’t helping us take down HoD and we can’t beat HoD directly, guess which server we are going to go after? hint the weaker server which would be JQ.
