Yeah pretty much. However you also have to consider lifeforce management. Sometimes its just to much effort for little reward to go DS build.

Stand on the high point and leap to the corner closest to the bridge. You can definitely do it with LH so i see no reason why you cant do it with guardian.
The trait may as well be reworded to say makes well of darkness and plague cause chill. Its a pretty poorly designed trait when you consider this and our blind access and lack of blasts to use in dark fields.
If you are going for ascended armour i would personally recommend assassins. Its the best for dagger build at the moment. And if the specialisation is any good it will probably be the best for that aswell. Full berserker is only better for DS builds.

Ranger is not the strongest ranged class, Elementalist is. And fractals are meleeable.
PSA: Flame Axes outdamage Frost Bows on the whole with the exception of FB4. If you’re using FB 4, you should use it and drop it if your sustained DPS is high (staff). If your sustained DPS is low (scepter), you should camp FA instead, then drop in your high bursts in between FAs.
I’ve seen so many Elementalists using Frost Bow’s autoattacks on bosses with no idea why the Frost Bow is used.
Can i ask why you are even slotting flame axe in the first place? Why not LH? or better yet use D/F? Being stuck on scepter is not a valid excuse in my eyes. Theres no reason to take your scepter into combat.
I dont think its worth implementing. Simply because the usage will be low. I know for me im not going to go out of my way to rate people. The only time i might do that was if i was severely griefed and felt compelled to vent my frustration in some way. So it would become more of a blacklist system than an actual rating system.
Well previously if you evaded when he auto attacked it would bounce the projectile and hit others in melee. Whereas if you didnt evade it would just miss. Now that the auto hits in melee anyway you cannot troll with ranger gs.

Im not really sure who wrote the stuff for skipping on necro. But the utility choices dont make sense to me. What you want is spectral walk for swiftness or avoiding fall damage. Signet of locust for base movement speed if you think you are going to run out of swiftness. Well of Darkness for blinds (especially helpful on the large group of deadeyes and inquest at the last arah p2 skip). Well of Power for stunbreak and condi cleanse. And the elite should be plague form for high durability, pulsing stability and spammable blinds and cripple (only use when absolutely needed and if you know you are going to be put in combat anyway). Everything else for necro is correct though.

Necro hasnt changed in any substantial way. Its still bottom for PvE. Good for WvW zerging. And ok in sPvP despite still having major problems.
I ask myself the same question when i look at the rewards after a fractal 50 run.
The conditions dont need to be capped. You just need 10 unique conditions. So its not exactly hard to get close to max iWarlock damage in a 5 man group.
Just do Up and Forward path once each day? You will have the tokens in less than a week. And you might get some nightmare runes as random loot in the dungeon.
Weakening shroud for blast. Blast finisher on deathshroud entry would be amazing.
Yeah this seems like a major player tracking issue. Its more obvious with attacks like shadowsteps it seems. Its definitely not limited to a select few bosses thats for sure. Its probably a gamewide issue which only effects certain types of abilities.
As a necro i would be happy with being even a fraction as well off as a mesmer. Being a portal bot is a huge boon to the class. If only necro had something like that. Also i think you are overestimating the importance of damage. Weve seen recent records with double mesmers and the damage lost was pretty minor. The only classes that are ever stacked in multiples in records these days are eles and mesmers. Eles for damage and mesmers for superior utility. I think thats a pretty good position to be in. Its just a shame mesmer is a pretty poor solo/duo/trio class along with necro and ranger. But thats to do with buffing potential and not actual damage and utility.

Yeah mesmers are used as a portal bot. But taking one means you dont need a guardian for reflects, condi cleanse, short duration stab or aoe pulls. Its also true thief is a stealth bot. But taking one gives you a highly mobile class which also reduces the need to stack blast finishers. You can reduce every class to a single role bot. But they all do something extra to varying degrees. In that regard mesmer is fine because its no different to any of the other classes used in records. The problem classes are necro and to some extent ranger and engi.
You use D/F, vigor on crit, energy sigil and defensive utilities. :P
Cutting out some of those and spamming Ring of Earth would work but you would lose a lot more damage probably.

Like i said i havent seen it happen very often. It was in the last patch. But to me it seems like the same issue as necrid trap. As Zui put it. The AI is failing to track where players are and missing with attacks.
Its kind of a bullkitten move for some classes. Necro already has to max out its active defence to solo lupi. The minimum requirement is double energy sigils and enough lifeforce generation to absorb projectile in phase 2. And even that is more of a challenge than on other classes. Endurance food + double energy sigils is required for less experienced players. You cannot waste dodges on a necro or you will die. With the auto attack hitting and no other way for necro to increase its active defence it makes it impossible to solo without stacking passive defence or playing the RNG game with a ranged solo and sidestepping.
Its a reminder of the anti necro encounter that is Mai Trin. Undodgeable attacks surely a good idea when some classes have nothing but dodges.
I understand the desire for more challenge. But stuff which kills class viability even more than before is not something I will ever support. Not until classes have equal active defence options. Lets be honest we dont need more reasons to kick necros on sight. :<

Another thing about lupi that changed when the bubble and barrage changed. He sometimes completely misses with his shadowstep. He will shadowstep to the back of the room when aiming for a player much closer. Doesnt happen all the time. I just noticed it the other week when i accidentily burning retreated and cancelled my icebow summon. I obviously caused the shadow step. But he went straight past me to the other side of the room where there were no players or npcs.
I think all these attacks missing and arc radius increases are all related to be honest. Also noticed the wraithlord has some accuracy issues and randomly shadow steps even though everyone is in melee. He will also just randomly wander off on occasion.

I dont really see why they cant find a middle ground. Make it scale to solo. But keep it as a repeatable story mode path. Not that is matters too much to me. There are some nice fights in that dungeon but they are hardly worth the effort to revisit.
It was the same for the bobble heads. Some people just cant take a joke for a day.
Im guessing what really happened is some risen decided to teleport to you. Either way its some funky pathing bug. :>

Seems pretty obviously unintended considering you can still 1-shot him in phase 2. If they were going to “fix” anything, it’d most definitely be that.
Realize that they don’t want to just make his projectiles unblockable because that negates the entire value of those skills against GL, but it’s not as simple to somehow make the skill unable to reflect his skills on a wall. That’s a much tougher problem to solve than making his attack that he uses work in melee. It’s really impossible for us to determine intent here.
It would be very simple to fix. Just make it so the walls in his arena can’t have skills target them like half the walls in Arah leading up to Lupicus.
Or just change the point where the projectiles spawn. If they came out of his head instead of his stomach then you wouldnt be able to overlap a reflect on that spot.
This is actually pretty exciting. I like this change!

That would ruin the boss. Like i said the only option is to change the projectile spawn place. So it cant be completely covered by reflects. All the WoR on wall is doing is making sure that every single projectile is reflected.
Fixing 1shotting lupi is not possible without ruining the boss or removing ground targetted/manipulated reflects. Or i suppose they could change where the projectiles spawn from on his model. If they increase its spawn height then WoR on wall wont work anymore.
Exactly. It would totally make the encounter faceroll and ruin it. You would not even need to wall lupi to reliably avoid necrid traps and barrage.
Yeah i imagine it may have actually prevented fear effect. Although i cant think of ever being in a situation where i had both without using a stunbreak to clear the fear. I suppose it never really ended up being an issue due to most necros never using the trait and the limited amount of fear from other classes.
Reflecting lupi’s projectile applies highly potent confusion stacks on yourself. And lupi has parasitic contagion trait so it sustains him through reflect damage while completely nuking you. :>
Prior to this patch, you had to preempt CC with DS in order to use the 1 stack of Stability to block that CC. Now if you get CC’d, you can pop DS in response to the CC and break out of the stun and gain the 1 stack of Stability to prevent a future CC from hitting you.
That doesn’t quite answer my question. It was my impression that a trait that gives you stability on an instant cast ability acts 100% like a stunbreak.
Like I said, I haven’t used FitG in ages, but from my experience with gaining stability from other sources mid-stun that stun would be broken by gaining the boon. Like when guardians give you stability, or when you’re feared through Well of Power.
Nope it never did stunbreak. It only prevented further CC. You would still have your cooldown resets and knockdown animation play even while under the effects of stability. Well of Power only worked because it cleansed the fear and converted it to stability and fear works slightly differently effect wise compared to other CC. It was always something that didnt make sense logically. But they kept it so it didnt stunbreak for balance reasons in the past. There arent really any other instant cast stab skills which dont stunbreak. So it was like the only example of it.

This thing is an enabler so hard for condition builds, holy crap. Master of Terror will still be mandatory, but a ten second cooldown stunbreak is killer strong and totally allows Condition Necromancers to drop a stunbreak in favor of something else. Honestly, given the quick cooldown it may even enable Necromancers to drop all stunbreaks and use DS a bit more defensively.
I can’t wait to give this a try!
Im honestly surprised they listened and implemented this so quickly. Its a first for this kind of speedy balance tweak based on feedback.

Its a vicious cycle. First fgs, next icebow and WoR. What after that? Glyph of storms? Meteor shower? Lava font? Definitely need to nerf 100b. :>

Yeah ive never seen the hammer disappear on ele. Not heard of anyone losing it like that either. There was an engi related bug like that with kit swaps but i believe that was fixed. Its probably some confusion relating to that.
Not sure why you give byes by luck of the draw to be honest. I know you are trying to be fair and it is difficult to seed a tournament like this. Especially with very little previous tournament info to go by. But still.
Alphard has some major reset bugs going on. And with brie you actually have to clear a load of waves of mobs before you can afk. The path is annoying as hell to solo now. And with selling being risky and slow to fill groups. I find it more unreasonable to expect people to sell for such low prices.
And yeah i stopped selling arah p2 way back then because of the skippers dropping the price and it taking so long to fill. Went for p4 for a while but it got to be such a competative market that i got fed up waiting longer for buyers than it actually took to duo the path. That plus the prices started dropping to 12g. Stopped selling arah because it really wasnt worth the time. Tried selling TA Forward. Got griefed. Quit selling for good.
Thought KING had a video of a 75% to 0% kill in one of their frac 50 runs. Or am i imagining it?
Edit: Nevermind it was their all time submission. And it was only to 10%. But they seemed to slack a bit on the AOE burst so they probably could of pushed for a full 1 phase burn.

Yea what happened rT? Did the jitters get to you guys? I know my team was super nervous both days and did some questionable things.
This is so no secret and has been stated many times in the past. We are a guild of solo’ers. We dont do dungeon tours. We rarely do dungeons together outside of pugging or joke runs. The only times you see groups advertised in guild chat is to leech dungeons or to join a semi pug. Theres really no inter guild common tactics or major familiarity because of this. Which means we dont expect to do well in tournaments where we get paths we dont play much. However records are different. The only time you see full guild groups playing together regularly is when attempting records. But we are kind of still inactive so thats not happening at the moment.
Maybe things will change after HoT has released.
