I dont think its a problem seem as we also lack fields too. Eles and warriors have blast finishers on the cds you are talking about and they have regular fire fields to play off them too.
We have only really light fields which are semi viable.
I dont see it being a problem.
You can’t compare skills and traits. Elementalists have to invest a grandmaster trait to get a tiny bit better version of what you are suggesting we get as an adept trait. I’m all for adding it to Enfeebling Blood, but to add it to Weakening Shroud would make it worthy of a master trait.
Eles have blasts on LH auto attack. And plenty of other no investment skills. They had plenty of blasts at release. But they got even more added in various balance patches for absolutely no reason. I think its about time we get some.
Look at these for cooldowns. :P

With cooldowns like these and the fact that Rev is getting another 8 sec cooldown blast on mace. I dont think the arguement that it would be too strong for an adept trait holds up anymore. We dont have anywhere near as many fields as those classes. And field access we have is limited in terms of accessibility and the type of fields we get.

Very impressive. That guy on reddit wtf.
I see no reason why not. Its not like we have fire fields to spam our blasts on. It would make us actually decent in PvE and would have a far minor impact on other gametypes.
This was suggested months back by the way. Supported it then. Support it now. :>
- When someone tried to solo Magg’s search for magmacyte and everyone WPed to the entrance, the npc joined us at the wp. We all had to cross the magma field to continue. Not sure if it’s an anomaly, or a fix.
NPC’s follow/port to the closest party member. So if he was closer to someone at the the WP than the person doing the run it would do that. If you have to make sure that when people waypoint Magg is always closer to the guy running the magma. People often forget this and screw it up.
Food actually makes a difference in AC now. Before you were above the cap without food. Now you can use it and it actually makes a decent difference.
Ive only done about 3 full dungeon tours ever. And they were during the last few weeks. So its not really a problem for me. :P
Yeah i agree. I think people are exaggerating the problem at the moment.
True but who does that. :P
Well they cant be shunned in solo PvE because theres noone to shun you. But i shun my own necro in solo PvE when i consider what i can do with other classes. x)
Necros are only decent in zergs. Thats really great! /s
And i agree it should be fixed before HoT. But weve been making suggestions since release and nothing has been done. It looks unlikely that the base class will ever be any good at anything other than zerging in WvW.
Your individual experiences do not represent the entire classes situation. :P
Its better against players with boon strip. Its worse against players with CC. Im not really sure about this change. On the one hand i dont think its completely unjustified due to how powerful Lich can be. On the other hand i think it might be shut down a bit too easily for an elite in some situations.
So we should just accept every balance decision they make as correct and give no criticism?
So dont criticise a class that has been in a very poor state since release? Im sorry that doesnt sit well with me. There is long term bitterness in this subforum for a reason.
There is nothing to appreciate at this point. Maybe that will change with the specialisation.
If you could claim it was a mistake and get away with it everyone would be doing that.
I doubt you will have any action taken against you though considering how rare it is for proven griefers to recieve punishment.
At best you will get a temp ban. But anet doesnt seem to crack down on griefers much. So you will probably be fine. In future i recommend being a bit more aware of the groups you are joining. You basically just helped a griefer steal someones instance. An honest mistake but still pretty horrible for the one being griefed.
Did you not reinvite him back to the group and kick the griefer? You could of salvaged the situation if you had.

Sublimatio’s post outlines the base format of the build.

Well its all there. You can filter records by date and many other variables. Its not immediately clear though. But thats kind of difficult to do without adding hundreds of preset filters.
Its not just scaling. It seems there has been a lot of stealth changes to bosses and attacks throughout dungeons and fractals. That plus the stability changes might be enough to consider a full reset. Its only been a day so theres probably more changes to be discovered.
Im not really part of this world, but i would reccomend with major version alterations you save the records and give them post.
Wall of records PRE 3/17/2015 (a cooler title might be better)
so peoples records under the old mechanics would be there forever.at the same time you inspire people to create new records with a clean slate.
that said, this patch was pretty buggy, have these changes been confirmed as working as intended?
We have all time records for that. No record is deleted from the database.
I quite like a lot of these changes. Small adjustments to difficulty and some minor attention to bugs. Its refreshing. But i would seriously love it if they were in the patch notes….
I dislike the snowblind fractal change though.
AC and CM are the first dungeons. You dont need a merch while doing them. Especially as CM has one right outside the gate. The problem is after that.
Thats not build specific or tanking. Thats simply utilising group blocks (you can do it in berserker), its no different to using group aegis’s in a meta comp. Im saying the whole tanking/anchoring/aggroing thing doesnt work everywhere. You arent stopping lupi from targeting other players or hitting them with cleaved attacks. So its not like a traditional MMO in all encounters. :P

Yeah i did think Brie’s ray changed. It looked like it tracked me today when i sidestepped. Although im not entirely sure. Been kind of distracted with the new camera and have a habit of zooming so far out that i cant see tells properly.
It looks like both.
The point of this thread is to show the community that GW2 PvE mechanics are in fact no different from “traditional MMO” mechanics and in fact you can have a tank in this game just like in any other game.
*for certain bosses
Doesnt work everywhere. For example imbued shaman and lupicus.
Full clean resets are easier to do. But obviously its not favourable in some cases. I think we need to find exactly whats changed before we can make a decision anyway.
Im saving for the hair kit. But it looks like that will take longer due to the shadow weapon skins. :P
Yep. No other choice to be honest.
Trying to manipulate the price of the perma merch are we?
All the blinks still work. It was a QoL fix to prevent people from wasting their blink cooldowns on bugged terrain.
Although the note about fixing some blink locations may be some exploity blinks. Such as AC/arah under the map kind of stuff etc.
One more thing that isn’t in patch notes, swirler can’t be destroyed in snowblind fractal anymore. Tried with ele and engi. Can anyone confirm for other classes?
I just tested it very thoroughly on a lv 1 snowblind Craius, I’ve tried looking for the hitbox all over the vicinity as I thought of the possibility that it had just been moved however I couldn’t find it. My guess is they moved the hitbox deeper underground where not even AoEs with 300 radius can reach it.
If its within 600 range then necros should still be able to hit it.
Its not just AC. CM and TA are also effected i believe.
Well a meaty buff to our downstate isnt exactly a meaty buff to the class in general. ;3
Why cant they add this stuff to the patch notes?…
Kind of annoying for those of us having to deal with record resets etc.
I bet he was feeling quite embarrassed.
My guess is when they decided not to make death shroud our class mechanic, instead of our downstate, they shiv’d in our downstate without backing out everything else.
I’m really not sure how big of a difference this will make – possibly making us a bit more of a threat when downed if we’ve invested in the blood traitline?
Thats my guess aswell. Unfortunately we only noticed the bugged health pool in downstate as a result of that. They took long enough to fix that. Surprised they didnt notice everything else when they were looking into that. I suppose we should be grateful they are now fixed. Even if we didnt know about them until now. ;>
Frozen ground is already unblockable. Same as dark path and reaper of grenth.
Signet of might does not make allies attacks unblockable. It only helps the warrior.
(edited by spoj.9672)
I did giggle when i saw that. x)
Surprised they didnt stealth fix them. They usually dont admit to such major bugs if they can help it.
(edited by spoj.9672)
Looks like i was right and people misinterpreted the blink changes. ;>
It looks like a QoL fix to prevent wasting your blinks when it would fail to teleport.
Can someone who can get in game at the moment confirm?
I have had situations where ive been insta kicked for asking a simple question, such as “which way are we doing this bit?”. The question basically checking we are all on same wavelength so they dont start doing it some old way. Then i get insta kicked cos “you should know the path already”.
I’ve also been kicked by a group for knowing the most up to date route when they didnt, and upon going that way, got kicked.
I totally get what OP means, i stopped asking for clarification once the run starts because, more often than id care to think, i have been kicked just for asking a question.
Never had a problem with that. Maybe you are wording it in a way which is causing misunderstandings?
From a purely usefulness and popularity perspective across gametypes.
Best = Ele
Worst = Necro
From a purely design, synergy and implementation perspective (trait/utility creativity and synergy etc). Ignoring relative usefulness and popularity.
Best = Ele
Worst = Necro
Its a little upsetting as someone who wants necros to be good. However aesthetically necros are the best. Although thats a matter of opinion. :<
(edited by spoj.9672)
Nemesis also openly bashed and insulted our playstyles. While proving his ignorance on the subject. So thats why.
Party siphon? Are you talking about dark field life steal? If so theres only one place that is useful. And it might get fixed eventually. So i would leave that out.
I would personally put it as:
Necromancer:
- Damage: ++
- Offensive support: Vulnerability ( + )
- Defensive support: Blind ( + ), Immobilization ( + )
- Utility: Control ( + )
(edited by spoj.9672)
A full set of weapons which actually match infinite light and beacon of light.
19k hundred blades is very low so yeah. x)
Today I got like 11k in silverwastes and was satisfied, until I jumped on my warrior and did a 19k on on 3 different mobs at the same time. Then I asked myself why do I play my necro in pve. It’s so blah. I even like my necro in the sw because epidemic and high condi dmg seems effective until I log my warrior on and see that … Repeatedly. How can anet not see that we are hurting so much in pve? I’m avoiding our def issues in pvp, don’t want to keep beating a dead horse.
19k with what? Comparing a channeled skill or a skill with a higher coefficient isnt exactly a valid comparison.
I think its more of a natural reaction for many of us to try and optimise the tactic. That means taking something which can anchor without losing as much dps. Such as the old AH meta. I dont really understand why people are so defensive about it. Miku was simply asking the reason they use it. Others were simply discussing/suggesting better alternatives. And all weve got is defensive responses with very poor reasoning as to why they dont like the other alternatives.
Because i get the desire to anchor. I just dont understand the need to heal constantly when your group isnt even getting hit. :P
(edited by spoj.9672)
Ive had 11k in old casual runs. But that was pre ferocity nerf. Id expect about 20-25k is possible if trying to go for a big hit with all buffs on mage crusher.
Yeah its probably the lich tower.
