To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day
Hardly spoke to folks around him, didn’t have too much to say
No one dared to ask his business, no one dared to make a slip
The stranger there among them had a big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
It was early in the morning when he rode into the town
He came riding from the south side slowly lookin’ all around
“He’s an outlaw, loose and running,” came the whisper from each lip
“And he’s here to do some business with the big iron on his hip”
Big iron on his hip
In this town there lived an outlaw by the name of Texas Red
Many men had tried to take him and that many men were dead
He was vicious and a killer, though a youth of twenty four
And the notches on his pistol numbered one and nineteen more
One and nineteen more
Now the stranger started talking, made it plain to folks around
Was an Arizona ranger, wouldn’t be too long in town
He came here to take an outlaw back alive or maybe dead
And he said it didn’t matter – he was after Texas Red
After Texas Red
Wasn’t long before the story was relayed to Texas Red
But the outlaw didn’t worry; men that tried before were dead
Twenty men had tried to take him, twenty men had made a slip
Twenty one would be the ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
The morning passed so quickly it was time for them to meet
It was twenty past eleven when they walked out in the street
Folks were watching from the windows; everybody held their breath
They knew this handsome ranger was about to meet his death
About to meet his death
There was forty feet between them when they stopped to make their play
And the swiftness of the ranger is still talked about today
Texas Red had not cleared leather ‘fore a bullet fairly ripped
And the ranger’s aim was deadly with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
It was over in a moment and the folks had gathered round
There before them lay the body of the outlaw on the ground
Oh he might have went on livin’, but he made one fatal slip
When he tried to match the ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
Big iron, big iron
When he tried to match the ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
I’ve got heartaches by the number,
Troubles by the score,
Every day you love me less,
Each day I love you more,
Yes, I’ve got heartaches by the number,
A love that I can’t win,
But the day that I stop counting,
That’s the day my world will end.
LMAO
coz it hurt Abjured feelings. They want to be known as great pvpers but minstrel amulet exposed how they suck and avoid fair fights. How they win is out-rotate their competition. They WILL struggle out rotating opponents equipped with minstrels.
Easy as pie to read the intent of children and the dummy developers that play fanboi.
mesmers own these abnormalities
Sorry folks, since there are no warriors in the Abjured line-up, it’s gonna get neglected proper. If Abjured isn’t happy with an amulet or rune, it’s gonna get banished in record time.
Abjured doesn’t run with guardians so don’t expect them to sympathize with the problems of support guards, IMO, the most noble and unselfish of all builds atm.
I haven’t seen that many Berserkers. That to me is a sign that it’s not in good health.
What’s sad is when some warriors say they’re currently in a good spot on another thread.
I’ve also experimented with Berserker during BW3. Difference between it and other elites is that it requires much higher effort. I haven’t hit the right “note” just yet build-wise on Berserker and I keep falling back to the Rampage warrior build because it felt more synchronized.
Edit: I tried Berserker with Carrion and Celestial ammy lol.
Looks like Carrion Dmg
Yeah but I’m still willing to give up pets for DH. What anet did is instead of giving us a fully optimized build like DH, they gave us something partially optimized in exchange for the AI pets. I’d rather have something buffed all the way and I control fully
You must be a guard.
Guardian support role is already viable as it is. Nope, not enough. So they gave guards a super buffed LB w/ traps and NO pets. I’m sure a lot of rangers would give up pets for something as amazing as the DH. Even after nerf, that thing does crazy damage plus CC and inherent guardian blocks.
nuts.
compare that with lame ranger traps. It’s a joke. Flame trap doesn’t even stack high burning damage. In fact ranger traps and aoe fire damage does pulsing damage.
The thing is, I haven’t encountered that many Berserkers to compare them with other elites.
Team quality also applies in the highest tiers of pvp. Abjured admitted that the close friendship amongst one another gave them a strong competitive advantage. And it makes sense because imagine if you played in a team where each person sincerely cared and will always be there to back you up.
Not all top tourney teams have the privilege of friendship. And friendship yields the highest quality team you can get
Defending a brainless spec that is DH and passing the OP card to reaper is laughable when there have been 3 “I’m so proh look at my DH video” threads on this subforum alone. One of the threads either got deleted by the poster or removed by mods.
And comments by some DH were overly arrogant as if they believe they really are that good.
I haven’t seen a single arrogant Reaper show-off with a video showing how great they are.
guardians along with engineers have always been the worst of this playerbase. they expect to be easy and demand to be rewarded like they’re hard to play.
Correct. But what’s funny is that some these “pro DH” aren’t even real guardians. They’re just scrubs that jumped the bandwagon and some of them now claim that they “main” DH – even though they’ve only been playing it a few hours after they saw some video. The arrogant engies have at least been engies since they started playing. Except for turrets, it’s a higher skill cap profession like thieves.
What Nos does in ESL finals is irrelevant to what non tournament pvpers experience in regular matches. Reaper is an upgraded power necro but like all necros, it needs a supportive team to function to its fullest

OP is not a Mesmer. Your jab at deception failed. Next time try to be less obvious.
I successfully beat a DH on point with a warrior and burn guard sw/t, sc/f
You can counter expac elites with core game builds
i usualy don’t call for nerfs im more a buff the weak weapons guys but HOLY MOTHER OF…………………………..
Too many DEFENSE compared to the dmg and cc they can doo
too many immunes
too many bubbles
too many 0 0 0 0
too many CC
and ALL of this with a crapload of dmg.wtf seriously i kill a bunker guard easier then a chrono and they also don’t nuke my healtbar down while cc ing me to oblivion……..
Cele dd eles feel balanced compared to this.im not joking.
It’s hard to take someone who PVPs to farm tomes seriously. I want to tell you to L2P but I don’t think you PVP because you enjoy it.
LOL trytonianYeti.4389, are you really so insecure that you cannot take your own word? You must look through the persons history and find something silly/stupid and use it against them? A shining example of internet.
Back to topic, I haven’t gotten the chance to test it out since the last BWE but Chronomancer is just shatterspike 2.0 and nothing more. According to the patch notes it’s what ArenaNet thinks Chronomancers are, more shatterspike.
I don’t find this an issue, except it’s a better Mesmer. P2W everyone! Get HoT or get out of competitive play
It could be that I’m not gullible nor do I suffer against chronomancers like you are. It’s ok if you’re not aware that the complaints of most people lack merit. From your flawed understanding of P2W, I am certain you are one of those people
Aww, how can you say it’s a L2P issue when you have a learn to read issue?
I just said I haven’t PvPed since the BWE’s, I haven’t fight a chronomancer today.
That being said, each beta had the exact some problem, it was just shatterspike 2.0. It’s too early to judge anything right now but if it is anything like the hundred hours I spent across 3 weekends PvPing, it’s safe to say ArenaNet learned nothing about their Chronomancer design.Take your adorable insecurity back to Queensdale, let the pros do the talking.
This guy is forever an idiot
I wasn’t born yesterday.
That’s why I responded immediately and called out the OP of this thread…. a Tome farmer should have no say what to nerf or what’s OP. It sounds harsh but if noobs are allowed to be taken seriously, then say goodbye to the thousands of hours you wasted mastering your profession.
It’s rather shameful how lightly people post nerf threads.
Just the other day, I called out a PVE scrub who was farming PvP to get exp tomes. He started the first nerf chronomancer thread after release. And of course a bunch of idiots, including a noob d/d ele defended him.
The issue is to many people complained it’s not hard enough even though in any mmo open world pve isn’t supposed to be this insane.
Anet really messed up here. Raids and high level fractals were brought in to please these people. But the new maps feel like a giant raid with no one around.
If they decrease the difficulty these elite people with there 24 packs of mountain dew and hot pockets will complain like crazy instead of just staying in raids and fractals where they belong. Or in ff14 or wow
Yes, but they want the esport, MtnDew crowd. I think that’s ANet’s intended audience. A lot of companies are going that way.
Those of us looking for a fun relaxing diversion are SOL.
Yeah that’s what they are aiming for or how else would you explain the $400,000 pvp champ prize. What’s funny is that the pvp community is tiny. What’s even funnier is that pvp people are cheap skates. They make all their money from casual pve folks.
That’s annoying.
Good news is that a lot of the guild teams are terribad zergers. They feel pro when they 3v1 you but always lose coz they cant comprehend the capture mode of the game
LMAO guild teams always used to queue unranked. I guess now they have little missions too. I think some of these guys are WvW guilds so expect the zerging. Although I know a lot of people belonging to WvW guilds that are also good PvPers. They usually don’t queue with their guildies.
I used to queue unranked for the rare and wonderful opportunity to go against a guild team in skyhammer
spvp > wvw on every possible level
That’s annoying.

When you refuse to adapt hehe…
You go to the buffet line one day at your office and all they are serving that day is faeces. That’s all that’s on the menu. Do you “adapt” and eat faeces for your lunch that day?
No thanks, I’ll wait until they reintroduce my regular meals on the menu.
Oh yeah… “hehe”
Why would you go to a buffet that serve fecalmatter?
Besides, buffets are for fat people anyways. Notice how they always have double doors.
hehe…
WOW.
THERE’S A COMPLAINT ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!!
excuse the caps but you folks need to man up
Why do you disagree with what I said?
Because no one ever talks about beating one with a necro. I don’t have expac either.
WOW.
THERE’S A COMPLAINT ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!!

I quite like using these crazy maps every once in a while. It’s a nice change of pace.
Honestly I hate it when people use the trebuchets at Khylo (even more so when it’s my own team) much more than when they use the cannon at Skyhammer.
You guys that are just refusing to play on those maps just seem a little bit pretentious to me. Yes, those maps are a bit unfair and spirit watch is a bit slow but really, is it that frustrating to you?
You seem to be a logical and rational person to be named DementedYak
If you really enjoy pvp that much, why let a couple of maps prevent you from playing? Those maps are not as bad as you folks make it out to be.
I’d rather adapt to certain environments than stop what I like doing completely.
Please stop posting these nerf XXXXX topics. Thanks.
I was called “insecure” (I guess that person doesn’t understand the definition) for calling out OP for starting this thread when he is only Pvping to farm tomes.
lol again that guy was right your just trolling ATM im farming tomes because yeah revenant but i still pvp ing seriously tome farming has NOTHING to do with it the chronos have too much of everything.
tomes farmer. you disgust me.
jokes aside, there are many counters to chronomancer.
imo there is only 1 super OP elite spec. and it’s not chronomancer.
the pvp upgrade is good way for them to convert the F2P into paying customers. I think this game’s combat mechanics is more than good enough for them to command a small upgrade fee.
they should add templates and add RoC for everyone to enjoy
Wait, you have to pay money to access the content of an expansion?
This practice is most certainly uncommon indeed, you are right, this is a massive issue.
Why would ArenaNet gate all this amazing new content behind a price tag, it’s not like a business wants money, right?Because it’s been their stance from day one that PvP should be fair and all players equal in power.
Also, this is a 99% PvE expansion, it’s not worth the price tag for a PvPer.
The only PvP content we get is Stronghold (core players have access), League (core players will have access) and elite specs. So essentially we have to dish out 50 bucks just so we can have access to one new trait line. Not worth it.
That’s exactly why I didn’t buy expac…the resources for creating the content went to PVE.
But like someone asked, if they offered a low priced xpac for pvp, I’d buy it. I don’t mind paying $50 if I PVE lots. But I don’t. It’s bores me.
Definitely for $15-20. That’s reasonable for hotm rats.
No, revenants #1
guards, engis, eles, mesmersrangers are at the very bottom even under thieves
lol wut lol

So it’s possible to use the elite specs in pvp without purchasing the expansion ? I’m asking, because I have gw2 uninstalled.
No, it is not possible to use elite specializations in PvP if you do not own Heart of Thorns.
Yes, elite specializations are far superior to normal professions, and have no drawbacks whatsoever.
No, you cannot choose to join matches with other players who do not own the expansion.
Yes, this does mean Guild Wars 2 is now technically Pay-to-Win.
Right now, most of the Elite specs are not good.
As a matter of fact, I have no idea why they even refer to them as “Elite”.
I kinda agree with this guy. Just like the previous BWs, I’ve been owning HoT buyers with their fancy elite-but-not-really specs.
Props to anet for not being greedy and for not abandoning non HoT buyers. I’m not against giving them money. I just don’t do a lot of PVE to justify buying HoT.
How is combat camera activated?
I’d do anything to improve targeting. So annoying when you have target, use your skills then it lands on a clone/minion/pet
@Ithilwen.1529
Congrats on deleting another topic.
I have another theory.
SoloQ was removed around the time the 1st pvp test ladder took place. When you solo queued for ranked back then, there were more pvp veterans around that ended up in your team.
The pvp veteran population may have taken a huge dive. One example is the activity on the pvp forums. Also, around the first test ladder season na prime, my contact list had 20+ logged on and 80% were in hotm. Today, it’s only between 3-5 online na prime.
Take that into consideration plus MMR being wonky.
I highly doubt arena net made such a profound change because a couple of you buddies decided to quit. considering that the majority of players are not not pvp “veterans” (whatever that means), what you are saying is nothing.
A pvp veteran is something you are not. Considering you don’t recognize their decline and can’t differentiate them with the influx of newer players.
What do you do when you go against a premade? You beat them.
Good for you!
However if you read some of the comments here, it’s as if they want you to surrender to your premade opponents and expect losing. And then be glad if you do win.
But if you will have an uphill struggle to win if your mind is set on losing.
If going a against a premade, it’s that small sliver of chance of winning that motivate others. It just feels self defeating to queue and waste your life (time is life) if you give up and expect to lose from the get go.
OP U SUX
I tried your formula when my pug team went against a full premade.
We got wiped BUT we were still leading plus we had 2 thieves.
All I said was “don’t give up” and someone from my team told me to
S
T
eFF
Up
ROOOOOOD.
I don’t deserve to be told that when I tried to encourage my team like you said. RQing never felt so good tho.
To their contact list
I really don’t know and too kitteno ask, Hey why you add me
I think 4 or 5 people added me in the last 2 weeks.
The nerf to dd eles actually made it a bit harder on my necro.
If you’re talking fight on point 1v1, the d/d ele will decap for sure if Mesmer held cap and is defending. But you can prevent eles from escaping if you time bursting them out of Armor of Earth and protection.
Lol not sure if method of account acquisition affect MMR but I understand your point about filtering out potential baddies.
What I really want to know is if MMR will reset with expansion or start of leagues
What people fail to realize is that the other 2 light armored classes, cele signet necro and shatter Mesmer, beat dd eles.
Thanks guys.
I wont give up on engie and will continue learning its mechanics.
Right now I’m playing the build with nades rifle and marauder ammy.
What are your favorite opening combos? Like when you are capping home and have to defend from an incoming intruder (usually ranger, Mesmer or ele)
Engie, hands down.
I admire engie mains.
It takes considerable practice to land skills. I’m trying to play one right now.
