@Rennoko and where do necro excell? most encounters are made for power / burst well actually each and every encounter is except maybe the water boss in fractal that actually makes epidemic feel good not that its needed there but still.

Have you tried the Half Baked Komali in guild bounty? finally a mob that takes low dmg from power making condition awesome for once………………or that is what it would have been if he didnt remove condition instantly making power yet again the only choice and condition completely useless.

@grave of hearts Would be rather fun if they wanted to make necro a support class but forgort the part of support called boons but they didnt cause necro is awesome for team buffing when they umm give uhh mmm if mm no this cant be right hmm spectral wall? nah that kinda sux what about……okay you know what nevermind boon buffing is other classes job. Necro is the master of debuffing for teamsupport we can debuff with things that other classes wish that had cause we can….hmm…..weakness yeah thats kinda ok but not really specific to us what about fear mm only 1sec well its more a 1sec daze then and others have 3sec fears so thats not really any good and knockback/down is faar better anyway.

Atleast condition dmg is great on necro whether its an event where you really get to appreciate the cap of 25 or if its when this nice mesmer drops quickness and you go full speed into the bleed cap wall, its things like this that make you appreciate just how well certain things in the game are made.

rest not so much and golem is a special one.

How ofen have you used charge on golem and hope he attacks when its done?

Had 3 attempts on the icicle in fractals before he started attacking.

And you might aswell say the ai is 100 precise cause its still doing what the AI tells it to do.

Got 80 nec , war , engi

If you want vuln stacking the engi nadespam is the way to go and its 20+ stacks aoe 1500 range. Yes you have to spec for it pretty common thing to do in this game.

warrior is still quite good ½+½+½ 2x vuln 1.5sec vs 0.75+0.75 4x vuln 1.5sec add in warrior might on gs + 33% chance for vuln on crit and the fact its cleave and hurts like hell.

Why you start with the pvp balance when talking about vuln stacking im not really sure what to make of so well care to explain and also the part about warriors not moving faster.

Did make a warrior because its just easier faster to do most things but i would rather play my necro. But there is like soooo many warriors its crazy, how about making some of the lesser attractive classes more fun to play.

Also got an engineer, tried vuln stacking nadespam ?

And minions being what they are (stubborn) dont even scale with any stats “looks at new ascended items” they slowly become more uselss than they are.

Confusing is one word for the class but i prefer horrible designed class with randomly placed traits that lacks any sort of synergy.

Death Shroud shouldnt have the huge impact it does on necro weapons skills it should be an advantage not a oh look that skill is weak but it generates lifeforce so its ok and its like that for most necro related things, also why we most likely will never see a proper functioning necro.

Axe mastery should never have been a grandmaster trait its crazy to have others get em early and not only do we have it at GM it also have to share slot with close to death making it even more pointless.

The 400 toughness doesnt make much sense either for a short ranged weapon so maybe axe was suppose to have been melee axe #3 also suggest this with the retaliation then again it also snares so well.

The minor adjustment they make to the class doesnt help and it need a bunch of bigger things to make it an enjoyable class to play but right now Death shroud is so fantastic a class mechanic that can almost destroy the entire class for the sake of balance > fun.

Even so most anti-melee bosses are 900-1200 range, look at tentacles at maw 600 range is within reach of it.

@bas wouldnt call axe a midrange weapon it’s more than melee range but less than the normal 900 midrange, so its at the awkward range.

If autoattack on axe is weak enough for people to say dont use its autoattack then yeah it needs some sort of buff, aoe , bounce to 3 people , cleaves 2 nearby the target for 70% of main dmg could possible even settle for axe mastery to be bumped down to
master slot and make it “axe skills now cleave , axe range increased to 900”.

Atleast something to work great when guardians aoe pull would be nice and the wells cd kinda ruins it.

Did manage to hit over 10k today with 96% crit and 3500+ ( with might ) during grenth event, but still not that impressive for a 3sec channel 600 range non aoe skills ( lol warrior F1 rifle ).

Still wish they would make weapons being weapons like other classes instead of this weapon dmg + utility dmg = others dmg with no utility so we can start having a smoother experience with you know choices for what we want.

Wonder how many times they must have brought up this issue i mean even 1 condition specced that get quickness rams into the cap instantly, surely they must have thought “hey you know what this here is kinda bad and wont work” lets fix it before release.

Wonder if anyone can actually defend em in this.

Epidemic doesnt work on dragon events specific sunless when the adds spawn epidemic doesnt do anything, animation is also missing.

Would probely need more confirmation on this.

To comment on the stability from lich/plaque and loosing stability “all of it at” it also renders + boon duration pointless for those 2. <- was a nice ducktape fix they did there.

Condition dmg is probely one of the top issues i have with this game, its such a huge part of many classes yet you feel so useless in way to many encounters.
Dragon events.
Taking down object’s
Burst parts like ice boss in fractal where the lava boost power dmg.
when more than one in your group is condition specced.
When mesmers use timewarp and you hit the cap instantly.

I fully understand that it may not be as good as a stun breaker but; DS is on a 10 second CD and can be used while stunned. Once in DS you have access to Doom on a 20 second CD and can be used while stunned. If you are looking for ways to deal with stuns, Necro’s do have quite a few in traits, utilities, and elites

And thats what is so annoying about necro, our class mechanic. We dont get to have short cooldown because of DS, we dont get to have good burst because of DS, we dont get to cast fast cause of DS.

Everytime something about necro feels lacking it also makes sense from a balance point of view because DS.

Other classes do not lack in these things cause their class mechanic doesnt force upon them a 2nd hp bar, its a terrible terrible way to design at class and its a complete mess to balance it. ANET doesnt even seem to wanna touch it anymore because of DS and how easily it can become OP.

How ofen have you started casting epidemic and either the mob dies before cast finish or your target gets cleansed.
Consume conditions same deal start casting and poof teammate just cleared em. ( underwater speed of it feels so much more responsive )

Not sure what i would do to DS now since the class just feels stuck with this underwhelming class mechanic thats both a burden, annoyance and our strength.

But being a class mechanic i wish they would have considered how they could have encourages us to use it more ofen and make the flow of it ALOT better.

What i would have wished for.

Base hp lowered to that of others but Death shroud no longer consumes itself.

Half dmg taken is gone to regular hp, rest lifeforce ( might need some adjustment for this but the point is i dont like us shutting down healing skills, regen , ally heals , lifesyphon )

Death shroud changes your 1-5 skills depending on the weapon you use you get 5 uniqe abilities. While in Death shroud skills dont generate lifeforce.

Traits to boost minions while in death shroud.

Minions that scale with stats.

Condition based minions to go with the scaling.

Army of darkness from gothic II as elite skill.

Try switching to DS and spam your 1/4, since you’ll have 20% more crit chance when going into DS for a few seconds. This could potentially up your Damage output.
A Power/COndition Build isn’t bad either, because the condition duration extra also increases your condition damage indirectly ba great deal!
I went Carrion for Spite/Curses build.

You cant crit on objects.

But golem seems best option if you can get it to attack.

Bad design requires bad balance :<.

Pretty much think the reason is cause of high hp + death shroud = no good healing & bad heal scaling. And before some people jump in and flame im guessing its about the lifesyphon crap?

And the video is only to show possible dmg / burst not if its actually usefull in dungeon / pve / wvw………also no cd on wells = 45sec of aoe lacking even with the ds4 ( 32s cd ) and spectral wall + spectral grasp? yeah not gonna happen and useless in most situations.
DS 1 does if build for it have a very nice frontload dmg but is also a 1sec cast time and requires 50%+ lf.

If you want to stack vulnerability i suggest engineer grenade kit spec for 20+ easy stacks, although its boring like crazy its easy to do aoe, 1500 range, better dmg. Do kinda expect em to nerf it though since it seems abit to good atm.

Would rather they made other classes attractive for their own uniqe abilities.

Playing necro and having to use time to setup bleeds for epidemic while i could just aswell run around auotattacking with a warrior for better faster result is just annoying.
And going for well spec is pointless with the long cd’s.

ANET also still havent bothered with the whole object like burrows vs condition dmg = fun time! yet its all the time you run into this problem.

Dont make condition such a big part of the game and then make it useless / annoying in 70%+ of all cases including boss immunities.

COE, friendly gets incased in crystal boom gs cleave its GONE. conditon necro same situation ? epidemic?

Should think they tested these things and came up with some solutions but looking at fractals and how pets are super annoying i doubt they test with anything but guard + warriors.

@Vagelis.9562 You cannot support like a guardian at all, you dont give boons to teammates nor protect em with stuff like wall of reflection, stability, aegis and the actual stuff you can do to bosses they are pretty much immune to.

The god things

Epidemic, very nice skill and have its moments but not as ofen as one would like. <- wish it was instant cast.

Spectral walk have a fun ability to work as a parachute.

possible the best 1on1 character with full LF but worst mobility making enemy escape easy.
Good options to deal with conditions.

The bad

No cleave options.
Condition dmg in general still suffers from alot of things.
No proper teleport / leap
No aegis
No block
No vigor
Minion ai still horrible
Minions dont scale with any stat.
Lifesyphon dont scale or barely scale from stats.
In general necro have long cast time long cooldowns.
Elite skills take control away from the user aswell as desummon minions, except golem which suffers from the bad ai.
Wells are nice but suffers from the long cd.
Being in death shroud you cannot be healed, rendering alot of things useless, regen, ally heals, lifesyphon, also cancels spectral skills for some reason.
Only stabiliy option last 3sec and cost 30 soul reaping points and 1 grandmaster trait.

However the class is fairly balanced but from my pov have the worst class mechanic.

The myth about the class being difficult to play isnt true and i got no idea why people keep saying so.

1. Dpends on what you like to play, conditionmancer is pretty good atm.

2. I dont think ANET knows what to do with the class since the core class mechanic gives us alot more hp than others and having access to some of the things they do could easily push us over the top. They did say necro needed some love then nerfed it.

Negativity is contagious. Necro has a few bugs, but doesnt need buffs. Repeating statements that the class is weak doesnt make them true.

And making up false statement is just fine right?

There are people asking for fixes, proper DS UI, minion ai that works every time, people asking for stuff that would add more viable ways to make builds like stuff that EVERY other class has acces to.

Then there are people no matter the class that always wants buffs and no matter what class their playing its always weak.

And then there is the person who always see the 2 above as 1 person even though they want different things this person dont seem to care but always wants to insult em.

As for patch the random attack golem fix is welcome, but would much rather have a proper DS UI, but hey we knew the patch was minor for class stuff.

Get same impression that death shroud created ALOT of balance issues which left it underwhelming in pretty much everything.

What a necro need for group support is actual curses that help their group but they took em out in gw2 so we dont really have any real support beside wells on long cd short duration.

Asura fractal (uncategorized) : when you have to go up and avoid the small electric bars that go down guitar hero-like, if the pet gets hit then you lose hp and go down just as if you were hit too.

+1 And if you have just gotten a reanimator you have to wait untill its down.

Find it abit hard to read this, would be better if it was more clear if the weapon/skill you talked about was more highlighted and the suggestion for it.

Disagree completely on Death Shroud being best designed class mechanic. If you spec condition dmg 1 is useless , 2 you use for the chill bleed but gets annoying because of the forced teleport , 3 is an interrupt not fear , 4 is pretty bad for condition but adds a little ekstra tanking. Would rather they give us the underwater ds on land.

Leap for axe wouldnt make sense for it being a ranged weapon and death shroud 2 is pretty much there for this job.

Never use it, well except as icon for when im underwater.

We have high base hp an ekstra hp bar in death shroud so i dont see the reason to have a tank elite, we kill slow enough as it is.

No but the amount of trouble minions give atm makes em not worth using save for golem since its our only elite that dont take control away from our class.

Also if you havent tried it yet in Fractal in one of the paths there you have to walk up some stairs that shoot these lightning you have to dodge between and pets are insanely annoying as they trigger em causing you to die or get incombat speed.

Another path your pets including the hated reanimator makes the encounter last a long time cause you have to get the boss to target players but it also targets pets delaying the fight each time.

Pretty much ANET needs to sort out the minion issues instead of them being a burden in 99% of all cases yours is just 1.

I think the whole problem revolves around Death Shroud being a really terrible class mechanic. There is no way we can get the burst of other classes while having an ekstra hp bar.
Death shroud skills in general feels horrible in the way you wanna stay in it as little as possible or to soak some dmg ( block invulnerability evade skills are better we have neither ).

So no the class do not need a major buff, it needs a major redesign.

@Jknifter Im sorry to upset you like that but lying and saying stuff like transfer isnt transfer would make plaque signet almost pointless, locus signet do not have 1200 range, yes it says so in the description but it also says nearby foes which is exactly what it does as in a pbaoe.

And if you wanted to play a pure support then why not a guardian ? you give so soo much more, stability, aegis, projectile block wall, boons, regen, condition cure, immunity shields, massive heals.

Im sorry that you had to resort to the old bads and stuff and how people havent figured out how to play the class when alot of people that play feel the class have ALOT of missing things that would make different builds more viable.

But if you like your pathetic dmg then thats just fine.

When you say the stuff about locus signet im starting to doubt you even play necro, ill let you ponder over that for a while. Here’s a hint the range isnt that impressive.

What would you expect a signet saying TRANSFER do? oh right COPY wait what so im helping the enemy by hurting myself? no wait i can copy alot of stuff to myself so i can transfer “woops almost did it myself there :p” i mean ofc cut paste the condition to the enemy. Arcane Thievery would rox for necro :>

Also very impressive how you have stability while standing in the enemy zerg which well gives it?

Even so if a new one was created and same thing happen like nothing really getting fixed, tooltips conviently changed so its no longer a possible bug. Skills being changed like “plaque signet” so nobody really knows how its suppose to work.

But yeah a new bug compilation list would be awesome, IF! someone from ANET made it while also added info on how those bugged skills were/are suppose to work.

Would be nice to know stuff like boon duration + lichform stability and how its just wasted now.

Guild chat, wow just did AC exp with 3warrior 2 guardians crazy fast and nobody died

So apparently it did hurt, just like plaque signet removing condition and working as breaker with no targets was hurting.

But yes change makes sense, although seeing how we lack in so many other ways i dont see why people wouldnt wanna avoid certain classes.

Then again we are masters of fear and attrition class sigh nevermind

Forcing minions on a non minion build

Making your character constantly say their stupid msg cause of this crap trait, im norn so its “dead again dead again” all the time.

A 5 trait that somehow is there to justify the 15 trait in same line REALLY?

Encounters in the game that have pets as a burden making classes with em ranger / necro more annoying and forcing you to spec out of an entire line to avoid it.

Killing something from a ranged place your pet is just gonna stand there doing nothing.

I wish ANET would make a vote if we wanna keep it!!

@Uskon For conditionmancer dealing with objects golem is like the only choice you have but the charge stuck instant object kill is more likely a glitch and probely on their nr1 todo list for necro changes.

But even though it once in a while might be usefull its in no way good enough if you have to deal with the ofen frustrating times of it just doing nothing. And that is very very ofen.

Even if they do manage to fix the ai of minions this next patch we still got the problems of no minion regen except golem , cooldown on minions only start when they die, no stat scaling for minions.

Fixed Death Shroud so its not longer possible to res or stomp while in deathshroud.

Updated minion tooltip to state “they can do whatever they want” minion ai fixed.

Wells radius reduced.

Wells can now only hit a max of 2 people

Epedimic can only affect 2 people and transfers a max of 1 stack pr condition

Slowed down projectile speed of staff 1 to make it more inline with its intended speed slightly lower than backpeddling.

@Raijinn Cause its most likely an exploit since you cant res or stomp in death shroud unless you hit stomp/res at same time as Death shroud button. Also the stability is 3sec long so you can actually interrupt the necro.

People arent good enough ? are you aware of how you have to achieve it? 30 points in soul reaping ( power spec most are condition ) + a grandmaster slot. So yes not many use it for either or several reasons, possible exploit , conditon spec , good players can avoid it by timing interrupt.

You forgot how Death Shroud, Lich Form & Plaque disables the ability to watch your cooldowns.
