Why are you so offended? Obviously, the OP was talking about PVE because no halfway-competent WvW/PvP player would allow themselves to receive 25 stacks of bleeding.

If you’re so paranoid about conditions, just roll a warrior because, without question, THAT amount of condition cleanse is PERFECTLY FINE.

If the op is talking about pve then surely he knows the change isnt pve ? :>

It is not 1 dagger 15% dual dagger 15+25 = 40% its 25% read the tooltip.

How is a power necro better for coe than a warrior? i mean cleave is great to have in there for crystals or the console thingy etc.

Any tips is welcome but i always swap to my warrior for well everything now :< same with other necro in guild that swap to mesmer / warrior or guardian.

Dont think so since it would require to build up a new combat system.

Condition disaster <- why was this even in the game to begin with.
Most pve is “dodge or die” mechanic with the regular pop at few utility skills and proceed to autoattack over and over…

That said i think they created a beautiful world and their dungeons tend to look amazing but the boring combat / skills is a massive turn off. Minor puzzles etc in dungeons i also enjoy but they just dont seem to wanna make different specs fun and not just barely viable but actually wanted for dungeons and events.

8 classes how many are optimal for groups?

Please stop neglecting conditions in PvE

This is the best part of the event, before you didnt have to care that condition was pretty much useless for events like this but now that it have a timer and a chance to fail the attention to the problem is even bigger.

Its the same for all games every class your not is op and every class you are is up. (Not you as in the op but you as in the idea of talking to a person who hate these class.)

Anyway got 80 necro, warrior, engineer
Was planning on playing necro (axe) as main but things didnt work since anets take on necro combined with its horrible class mechanic is apparantly impossible to balance and when people told anet that giving burning to the class is a bad thing they do it anyway which resulted in more nerfs.

So i will like my class when i feel its usefull enough that i dont have to bring my warrior.

Part of the necro theme is to have no synergy between skills so finishers is a no go.

But if you wanna use necro combofields i suggest underwater since anet at some point must have been high on something with the combofield + finisher in oneskill, and this is from weaponskill.

I dislike that dodge make you immune to everything, aoe? just dodge, makes no sense.

Autoattack is used to much and nothing else is really encouraged, feel the problem is somewhat connected to forced weaponskills.

Looking at it i kinda hate the whole combat/class system.

When i started out playing my necro i was excited to get lichform when i got it i saw to my horror that it was the same as the rest pop lich form spam autoattack.

Condition damage even less appealing in PvE.

The condition dmg problem is something i will never fully understand, its like they took a singleplayer condition system copy paste it to an mmorpg, realise the problems it had
and gave it a temporary fix and boom here we are.

I just…..how can this even be in the game?
Just a tiny bit of testing or common sense would have shown the massive issues involved.

They didnt even have to test it as power vs condition.

25 condition specced vs 1 champ.
1 bleed stack pr person ( ignoring all other dmg ) even with 200+ pr tick its pathetic dmg.

What would actually help is to know where anet stands in this matter.

Love the difficulty but i hate crappy camera, picking norn doesnt help either guess charr is even more annoying.

Lag + jumping = tiny jump = death
Jumping into stuff hoping your character warps ontop which is pretty common but just overall looks wird and feels like a gamble more than yourself making that jump.

The 2nd squid feeding and first 2 clouds , 1 is fine 2nd one killed me several times if any lag happens from 1 cloud to 2nd its instant death.

But these are just first impressions gonna keep at it.

Yes bleed is still ticking if your interrupted etc but keep in mind that power have no buildup time while bleeds in gw2 works as fire and maintain not fire and forget.

Problem is condition dmg is horrible in 99% of all situations.
Condition dmg is affected by to few things while you can build more dmg in power by crit dmg and vulnerability stacking. Now if you look at condition dmg you can only go for condition dmg + bleed/condition duration which would be oki if it wasnt for the shared bleed cap of 25.

But as others have said its pretty much down to how anet designs everything around power ( no high toughness mobs / bosses ) and oneshot mechanics.

@spoj.9672 to be fair condition build do seem to be the best for necro in a dungeon, cause well if your going power why use necro.

Play what you want how you want………….but not condition spec unless your the only one doing it.

This problem have been something that really makes me not wish to play, you dont feel usefull in events at all, dungeon groups is a gamble to see if your the only condition spec. Majority of content favors power and event boosts its dmg, quickness does nothing for condition spec in pve if your already able to get 25stacks without it.

Powerburst > ALL

Whether or not its technical limitations on their part this problem should never have been in the game to begin with, its an mmorpg you know lots of ppl doing stuff together, so how is it possible to make condition dmg a main source of dmg but forget about the part where more than 1 player using it is a problem.

@Silver No aoe conditions shine only in very very limited situations rest of the situations its cleave > aoe

Everytime someone talks about healing build stuff on necro i get the impression they avoid talking about CLASS MECHANIC i wonder why oh right Death shroud disable all healing just brilliant.

Uhm 6:40 did he just say / imply that Deathly Perception increase crit dmg?
7:15 Use spectral wall and spectral armor to get lifeforce back quick? :o dont the 2 kinda uhm work against eachother one prevents enemy from hitting you other you want the enemy to hit you ? and how does spectral wall give lifeforce ( ignoring the trait for on use ).

Not sure if that guy ever played necro or just theory crafting after watching other players using their build.

No we do not have dozens of ways to regenerate hp.
Yes lich / plague makes us abit more tanky ( pointless with the oneshot mechanic though ) plague = huge dps sink for the grp to gain?

No it is not the same way a warrior or guardian works at all, aegis, vigor, block, invulnerability, endurance regen, weaponskills that make you immune to dmg.

Fear used to be useable on bosses :<.

They cant hotfix the necro when its entire design(Death shroud) is flawed,

The whole achievement part of this is abit annoying if.

If an achievement is super hard for X class+race but super easy for Y then shouldnt it mean more for the harder class or should the achievement be easier for that class so they kinda equals out in difficulty?

Know what problem i have “the camera” norn :<. Everytime some content makes my camera go insane keep zooming into my character, then anything i do becomes annoying. The last JP was nice and fun to do if it wasnt for the camera going beserk.

Still dont get why people claim aoe is great on necro when cleave is better in 99% of all situations.

This current event, Staff AoE bleed, Staff AoE Slow, Well of Suffering.
Auto Attack on Staff, hitting for about 750 per mob in a line.

Few seconds and LifeForce full, time to DShroud it up. Auto Attack Pice thru lines like staff, stacking Vuln, giving me might with 100% crit. Starting about 2.5k per mob, per hit, but quickly getting upto to the 4.5k with around might stacked 10 times and vuln stacks getting going.
So, vuln & might sitting on about half cap, say I only hit 5 mobs per attack in a row, (Can easily be more but let’s not talk perfect hit every time) That’s still 22k per 3/4th a sec.
Then, DS4, oohhh the AoE! I know it’s a ‘very rare super number’ but I had 1 of them today, hit for 28k per mob, my screen was just covered in 28k numbers with all the mobs AoE’ed…

Sure, it’s not as easy as standing still and having 1 button AoE the mobs on you… But the right place, standing in the right spot, our ranged AoE is kitten sexy indeed!

Staff #2 is condition dmg, you dont need slow when killing things, well of suffering is ok but only hits every 1 sec vs example melee cleave thats ½ sec, auto attack even at 750 dmg is low dmg.

DS #1 appears to be awesome but it have a cast time of 1sec so its still not that great but its okish.
Just cause you hit more mobs with pierce doesnt make the dps pr mob go up ( sadly the might doesnt apply pr hit like warrior greatsword.
Its still 1sec cast.

DS4 28k pr mob? 28k? well i guess nemesis is overrated with his 29k ghastly claws if you can hit 28k PER MOB with Deathshroud 4.

Epidemic while nice is 1sec cast ( target may die or cleanse before cast is done ) its condition dmg only which tend to be pretty horrible in dungeons.
And lets be real here time to setup conditions for epidemic is to long if power specs just tend to walk through things like it was nothing.

Could look at another problem with conditions in dungeons, quickness… quickness doesnt help condition dmg at all it only makes you ram into the cap faster and even the non condition specced in your group who do add bleeds now have their own high stack so you cant even keep your own 25 stack even if your the one with the best condition dmg.
Then we have stuff like burrows in AC that only power can hurt.
Boss fights that boost power dmg.

Our power aoe dmg is somewhat ok but suffers from the cd they have and were pretty much completely dependant on utlitly skills for aoe dmg since no weaponset offers good power aoe dmg or cleave and only other option is DS #4 which is sorta ok but its dps isnt that great being a somewhat long channel.

Your right necro isnt wanted in a dungeon grp were just one of those its doable classes.

I barely play anymore and only join in guild events, its sad to se people having to reroll to be usefull ( optimal ) for the group. I did make warrior just to try it out and the difference is to much cleave , team buffing , vigor , endurance regen and in general power being faar better in dungeons / pve and then you have your necro who lacks in everything.

Dhumfire was a horrible thing for us to get.
If they want necro to be usefull anet have to drop the idea that Deathshroud can compensate for EVERYTHING.

Dislike dailies.
They encourage you to login everyday.
They encourage you to solo alot.
There is no options to just stack em up and do em in the weekend or whatever .

Dailies tend to have the opposite effect on me if i start to do things like dailies i quickly get bothered by the whole you dont have to but we encourage you to. If stuff is fun enough to do you dont have to encourage people to do it with dailies.

I think anet doesnt know what to do so now their just poking the ant nest and see what happens.

Think condition dmg vs power is probably the most horrible thing ive seen in a game, why waste so much time to make condition dmg such a huge part then make 99% of pve content benefit power.

Somehow i think the only way to avoid the tank healer dd is to make combat faster you die faster they die faster, each class does similar dmg but each class still brings something uniqe and wanted without making em a dedicated class.
Not the best game to compare to but wolfenstein:et you had healers , engineers , specops , soldier etc, they all had a job to fill but they all could kill pretty much same speed so while you had your job to do it wasnt a dedicated thing but just something you do between the regular shooting bad ppl.

No, thankfully. Which is why cliffs were considered the necro’s only escape mechanism.

Still are if you have an unused Spectral Walk on your bar.

Had a fractal where a guy got pushed over the edge with hammer and i popped spectral walk used DS to soak the fall dmg pickup hammer and teleport back up…………..never again :<.

They prolly working on a spectral walk fix right now though

Maybe just maybe its gone to the point where scrapping the entire class and rebuilding a new one ( without a 2nd hp bar ) would be the better choice.

To be fair DS started off with the survive any jump while in DS then ANET changed it so we couldnt do it then they changed it back to its survive any fall.

But yeah DS + Spectral walk rox there, only thing missing would be mesmer portal

Had abit of trouble with the norn but figuring out when and what signature move to use ( like the last frog challenge ) and they should be doable with abit of luck.

That said i had more trouble with the charr than norn simple because at times the charr would heal 3 times in row ( didnt have the anti heal at the time ) making it impossible and when i finally beat him it felt more random than me figuring out the tactic to win. I guess norn have similar issues.

But try learn the signature moves from the easier ones and you should be able to beat em the antiheal one is great if you get one below 50% and pop it.

Really hope they give us DS healing cause its one of those annoying things since release not just for us but for others trying to heal us aswell.

It’s just one of those things you hope they can balance without completely going overboard with dmg nerfs to compensate.
Makes me wish our class was more dpendant on traits like mesmer is so we could specialize more instead of everything just feeling so attached to DS and the balance issues it gives.

Makes perfect sense

But if condition dmg is suppose to be a big part of the game and something you can spec as your main dmg then maybe its important to make sure its as needed as power specs.

Where it failed

25 bleed cap

Part of the 25 bleed cap problem is quickness making you ram hard into the cap and even faster with other condition adding classes.

Dmg boosting events ( boss fights example fractal part where ice boss is hit by melting lava? and your POWER dmg is boosted ) Heavily favors power specs

So yeah while they fix the object issue it would be lovely to have all the remaining issues fixed.

Well of power stun breaker and stability ( pr tick or only once for 1sec ? )
Spectral wall chokepoint blocker supreme!
4sec burning or 5 sec+ since its the gm trait but no way that is happening.

Anyway hoping for good stuff when its for real.

I havent ever gone through the math or timed the runs perfectly, but I do know that I have run the archetype “DPS” dungeon, CoF 1, multiple times with my dagger berserker necro and have never been told I was holding anything up. Plus, I am able to take down the gate extremely quickly.

Well neither have i but its not exactly like people are asking me to bring my necro when i have a warrior and having a warrior it’s not hard to see how much more you add to the group.

Taking down the gate is a small part and another one of those power > condition as always, but not having cleave proper access to fury, vigor, might + actually helping your team with buffs hurt the class alot.

But im trying to be hopefull for the coming patch since the class got a ton of attention lately.

Necro will slow down a dungeon group no matter what.
Would i have choosen another class if i knew the state of the necro ? yes but stuff were said about necro giving false hope.

You can hope for the trait patch coming soonish and stick with your necro og go with mesmer if you wanna help your group the best.

Remember the days when dots were fire and forget type of stuff but gw2 made it fire and maintain :<.

Even if we get fire its most likely gonna be 1sec so we have to get the annoying 100% duration again wouldnt it be nice if we had bleed or in general dot duration similar to other classes so we could get 1 ekstra tick by having 50% duration increase.

Anyway i dont want fire for the simple reason that conditions in the game is still horrible made with how you share with other classes making POWER the only real choice.
