ANet should fill the order … and watch the player have a meltdown at all their lost coin
With my warrior I thought I was getting flagged for farming, because I did alot of fine material farming with it. When I got my ranger to Cursed Shore I was in loot heaven until I fully equiped her with MF setup and her drop rates fell instantly. You really notice the negative impact when you are used to doing the “Karma runs” without MF gear and then try them again with MF gear.
Ok, here is some math for my warrior, with and without magic find, 15 event sample for each setup. The events for both setups were in orr at the same waypoints. Observations were made over several sessions.
First of all does MF effect negatively effect drop rate, quick answer yes.
Total drops with 115% Magic Find = 225
Total drops without Magic Find = 365
You get more blues and greens with Magic Find, false.
Blue/Green % drops with 115% Magic Find = 15%/2%
Blue/Green % drops without Magic Find = 18%/7%
What was noticable is the % amount of fines/salvagable/bags did increase with Magic Find, the % amount of junk drops stayed roughly the same at about 35% with 115% Magic Find and 34% without.
Fines/salvagable/bags % drops with 115% Magic Find = 30%
Fines/salvagable/bags % drops without Magic Find = 21%
You have more chance of yellow/exotic drops with MF, no change. The amount of yellow/exotic drops was about 1% for both setups.
The remaining % of drops were whites.
17% with 115% Magic Find
19% without Magic Find
Recommendation: If you want more crafting materials, use Magic Find setup. If you want more coin don’t use Magic Find.
If these numbers do not reflect what Magic Find is ment to do then yes, it is bugged.

I’m in a party that has been through Honor of the Waves once, we tried again ankittenpt on ending up in a seperate instance. I tried relogging, we tried reforming party several times, and we tried zoning out of the area.
Everytime we tried to re-enter I ended up in a seperate instance
Please help!
Note also that the box to enter is not popping up when other members enter the dungeon before me.
I am actually having an issue where when dailies reset, not all the achievements reset in the achievement display, but when you do something associated with that achievement it then resets. Even the daily achievement counter does not reset properly.
In my case it is just a matter of the daily achivements not resetting properly and need a nudge by doing something related to the achivements. Sometimes it might take a couple of nudges, for example yesterday, after reset it said I had completed the events achievement, when I had not done any events for the daily. It took a couple of events before it actually reset the achievement.

Just to clarrify, it also does not include hearts, and the events must be successful. I’ve had failed events not count towards daily achievement.
I am “trying” to play an enginner but I am noticing that turrets have a querk where they will attack targets already destroyed. For instance the heart where you have to destroy the ice containers, once the container is destroyed (and no longer visable) my rocket and rifle turrets will keep firing at the spot where it was despite it no longer showing on screen and other targets are around.
Another example is where the pirate cannons are just south of Vindar’s Laggoon, there is a supply dump that when destroyed the turrets will keep firing at.
There are plenty more examples like the banners you have to destroy in shiverpeaks, etc, all of which turrets will keep firing at once detroyed.
Yeah, it’s been broken for me since October 26th, 2012.

When will this quest be fixed?
I believe Lost Shores starts on the 15th, so I expect the patch will be then to bring in the content for Lost Shores and audio/event fixes.
This happened on my engineer @ lvl 40
So, I grab a lvl 40 trait book and start pounding the + to take a trait to 10 but went 1 point too many, so I goto the trait retrainer in the building just south of Destiny’s Reach and pay to get the points reset. Then I discover the weapon skills for the weapons I currently hold (rifle and speargun) have been reset and I have to re-learn them
None of the other weapon skills were reset (pistol, shield and flame thrower, bombs, etc).

From my experience (2 toons to lvl80 and both now with MF armor/jewels/weapons) MF negatively effects drop rates. I figure this is because you are getting more valuable drops. If I take all the MF gear off, my drop rate increases but the quality drops.
With the northern Cursed Shore karma run:
non-MF setup = full inv after every cycle of the run.
MF setup = 3-4 cycles to fill inv.
Just my observation on both my lvl80 toons.
This has happened to me while “not” in combat. But I also noticed that the game occasionally thinks I’m in combat when I’m not, wont let me use waypoints and such and wonder if it is related.
Been having this issue as well. I notice it more when I run past foes who put me in “combat” status without fighting them, and then try to do something that requires you to be out of combat (after they stopped persueing me) like view a vista or map travel. As a result I usually have to go kill something before I am set “out of combat”.
Even when the charactor animation puts their weapons away, the game thinks I’m still in combat and as atated i have to go kill something to fix it. Maybe make it so if the charactor puts weapons away then the “combat” flag is unset or something …
I have the sneaking suspicion that magic find lowers drop rates as well as increases drop quality. My ranger was getting more drop before I put MF armor on her. At the moment she still gets more drops than my fully MF geared out warrior, but I suspect that will change once I get her MF jewels.
I’m having issues with engineer rifle and rocket turrets not building on some areas. Often these areas are areas where they would come in handy but alas you try to build them and thier skill cycles but does nothing. I certainly hope this is a bug and not a feature.
One such area is the entrance to the dredge tunnel near Podaga Steeding Waypoint in Snowden drifts, infact I cannot build turrets anywhere inside that tunnel complex.
Please look at this, its only one example but there are others I have ran into from time to time.

So with the 1st patch today I went to remove the authenticator using the account recovery process and kept on getting a message about a problem with the account. But I was able to log in and goto the security settings and turn off authenticator until ANet had fixed it.
I have done this previously without issue and was woundering if I should be concerned, or ignore it until I really need to do a recovery?
Note: I turned authenticator back on with the 2nd patch today.
superkhan, if you look at ANet posts on page 5, you will see it is fixed, just not on Live servers because to an audio update thqat was done at the same time being incompatable with Live servers. So it should be working when they push the audio updates across (as well as the fix).

can we hear from someone at ANet about how this is ment to work cause mine is at 0, despite charactors getting several levels before kicking the bucket.
I thought it might of had an issue but haven’t used it enough to tell for sure, now I know I wasnt imagining it … #f3, pet walks over and looks at you as if to say “what what whaaaaaat?”, die ….

I had the exact same problem until I turned on “promote target” in options. I was always losing/changing target mid fight. I still get the issue of auto attack locking some random off in the distance (or off screen) but double esc or hitting target nearest works around that issue.
ok so I see people running around cursed shore with the skimpiest outfits, so I thought once I got to level 80 I’d get a skimpy outfit too. So I crafted to lvl80 armor, only to find my ranger is covered head to toe with only her eyes showing …. where is my skimpy outfit!
So for the last 24 hours I’ve been karma farming in cursed shore with my ranger with her short bow and her lashtail devourer. But I’ve been noticing I’m getting loot from foes I was not even shooting at or anywhere near.
For example, a massive mob of foes spawned, I (and my pet) shoot only 1, when the carnage is over I had loot from 8 corpses. I’m not using AoE, just the #1 skill and #6 to keep health up.
At first I thought maybe they were running through my arrow path but I am seeing this again and again on the karma farms, shoot at one, get loot from many that I know I didn’t shoot at.
Not sure how to replicate because its happening without me doing anything special.

I cant even turn off authenticator cause I get an error during the account recovery process
anyone confirm if I turn authenticator off that I will be able to log in? It crashed originally while it was still downloading stuff, but never tried to download again on client relaunch.

So where was QA on this one? I have to lower account security to play, yet QA is holding up a much desired patch (hatchery bug).
Crashes after entering authenticator key, not even sure it finished the downloads properly.

From my understanding ori nodes respawn 24 hours after you mine them, or on patch.
I’ve had the Black Lion bug as well, but it was occuring before update. You have to log out completely then back in to fix it (if ya lucky it fixes it first try but I have on accasion had to relog 3-4 times to fix it)
Using promote skill target does seemed to have solved my switching/losing target issue, BUT I had several issues of targetting selecting targets outside my line of sight or field of vision(FoV). For example I was killing a foe, once it died mashed #1 to get the next foe in my FoV, and it targetted a foe around the corner, well beyond line of sight, and the only way it would of been in my FoV is if the mountain was not in the way. As a result my pet agroed everything along its path to attack what I had auto-targetted.
I have also had the random occassion of auto-targeting selecting a target outside my FoV but within line of sight, so I’ll be looking at a mob, shoot, arrow goes off to the side, find I hit something off screen so now I have to fight it as well.
While the tergetting system as a whole seems ok, it is the odd occassions where it is way off what you expected that makes it annoying.
hmm, fix drop rates within days but cant fix storyline after a month … guess storyline doesn’t effect the bottom line as much as dyes do.
No I dont but have now turned it on to see what happens.
Been trying to do a boss event (Defeat the inquest’s golem mark II) and have been getting VERY frustrated with the targetting system in this game. Despite me clicking on the boss with my mouse, it keeps switching targets to the other golems and inquest agents, or lose targetting.
I am getting very annoyed by the targetting system switching targets when not being told to, even more annoyed that the click targetting which is ment to “lock” targets still manages to switch/lose targets.
This is a constant frustration for me in this game. Please fix it.
Note: this often occurs when I’m mashing #1 key cause auto-fire wont trigger for some reason. But also happens in close quarter fights, like just now, fighting 2 inquest agents, the targetting kept losing target despite being right there, and auto-fire working (so no key mashing).

dont know if anyone else noticed this but in the “Help the priory workers excavate Rata Pten” heart, when the picks of the workers hit the ground they are on their side :/
The problem I have is I often cant see foes in the distance, so I merrily race to certain death before I realize I’m in deep trouble. By the time I see them it is often too late and they pounce on me.
Or worse, I think a dude is on his own, attack then suddenly surrounded by foes … and no ctrl didnt show anyone one else at the time.

I’m having issues with Rangers sword #1 skill when auto-attack is on where if you try to evade, the auto-attack pulls you straight back into the fight, often not even getting away from the fight. I’ve tried both double tap and pressing “v” but every time if I’m using my sword the #1 skill will not disengage. I have to select a target out of range, then evade once the auto-attack stalls.
Maybe make it so evade disengages auto-attack please?

Just had this happen to me tonight with mobs attacking me but invulnerable to my attacks 90% of the time, of course I died in the process but eventually got the event done.
