ok, the support ticket got a response … need to report this bug using the ingame bug reporting so QA get extra info. I’ll do that later today after doing pent/shelter/jofast events for a bit (think there is about 6-7 events associated with that area) so if it is DR they can tell me.
I am going to recommend everyone here do what I have done, and sumbit a support ticket on the issue. We need an answer on this issue and I feel this is the only way we will get one.
This is very disheartening for players who is leveling. Trying to run around southern Frostgorge Sound with a lvl71 character who have lvl 50-64 gear (lvl58 weapon) is painful and almost imposible.
Svanir are a pain when this happens, they respawn too fast, so you end up not even getting through the gate, just stuck out the front fighting them off, running away to get health back, come back kyte some more. You make no forward progress.
Whats that? That area is for level 72? Well before the loot drop bug I got 3 characters through that area without issue, and all before they were level 72. Infact all 3 of them finished FGS by level 75 and I ended up going back and doing beginner areas to finish leveling them up.
Nerfed drops = Nerfed game progression
Oh, and I can’t do my Level 71 storyline becuase I don’t do enough damage due to my junk weapon, and the undead kill me fast due to my junk armor.
So YES, loot drop bug is blocking progression.
I have submitted a support ticket on this issue in the hope of getting an official response on this issue.

Go to Lions Arch, there are usually people there LFG for dungeons and fractals …
I’ve been using elementalist water skill to heal, specificly no.3 scepter & no.5 dagger. Cast time is a little annoying and requires friendlies to stay in place while you cast since both are aoe.
To give you an idea how bad this is for leveling a character, I mapped mount maelstrom, did the hearts, ran some events, did the skill challenges. I only got 1 item I could use (pants). At level 71 and my character still has some lvl 50 gear, highest they have is 64 (which was a storyline reward I believe).
Do you know how hard it is to level a character with gear too low for the area?. Killing stuff takes for ever, and lots and lots of kyting (if they dont cripple/immobilize you) just to stay alive. I was only able to complete the zone because I teamed up with someone who was having the same issue.

All events start at 4am local time … 6am for halloween stuff was pushing it, but 4am ….
Our games aren’t about preparing to have fun, or about grinding for a future fun reward. Our games are designed to be fun from moment to moment.
Um, current loot drop bug means you ARE “grinding for a future fun reward”. If you are leveling this means grinding for better armor than you have (normal play drops used to do this without grinding). If you’re lvl 80 it means grinding (even more) for the stuff required for legendaries.

So, I was romping around in my stroyline, defending Fort Trinity, closing the gates and feeling rather secure until I looked around. The westen gate when it closes has a huge opening on the left side. Here are some pics to show.
And just to add, yes you can easily exit and enter through the hole.
I did have no elite under water, until I selected the whirlpool.
Hi, having issue with elementalist scepter skill no.1 where audio and animation when attuned to air will continue well beyond normal weapon range. ESC also does not release the target when this occurs.
To replicate, ride the lightening towards the target, wait for #1 skill to auto fire then turn and run away (normal speed) from target. It can take a couple of tries to get the timing right.
To break target esc does not work, you have to select another target and press no.1, or wait till target is well out of range.
The swim to the surface message when downed needs to be removed. Since it has been nerfed the message is no longer relevent and swimming to the surface does nothing for you. It used to be swimming to the surface ment you were safe, but now it just means you are going to die with no way to rally once on the surface unless foes pull you under.
This is very frustrating when trying to level a character. The lower drop rates asnd quality means it takes longer to upgrade my characters gear. If this was a nerf to lower our money making capability, what are they going to nerf next, make gathering an account thing so once you gather a node with one character you cant then switch characters and gather same node, especially ori, ancient wood and omnomberries …. if this is indeed the trend then it will happen, just a matter of time.
The technology in GW2 seems to be a mash of different eras, for example you have “wagons” scattered through tyria while charr have mechanical vehicles. You have humans running around with swords and bows, while Asurans have golems and lasers.
if we were to assign centuries to the technology you could say
Norn: early middle ages, small settlements, very low tech, some farming mixed in with some hunting.
Human: 15th century, from sailing ships, to farming practices, to military tactics. (pre industrial revolution)
Charr: 20th century, post industrial revolution.
Asuran: 23rd century, robots, lasers, teleportation.
Sylvari: mystery but seem to be able to adapt to any of the above.
So with these cultures all intertwined throughout Tyria, why isn’t the technological advancements influencing the cultures and advancing them.
Why aren’t Tyrians driving themselves around?
Why aren’t asurans putting a golem in every home?
Why is there no TV when asurans demonstrate time and time again that they are capable of long range audio/visual communications?
Why aren’t the Vanguard walking around with laser guns developed by the asurans?
Why are the farmers using ancient technology when the Charr could make them motorised equipment.
Heck they used a mix of technologies to create the airships, why isn’t there more mixed technology in the world of Tyria?
This bug is still ongoing. 3+ hours of cursed shore events and not a single yellow drop. With what equipment did drop in that time it was not even enough to get me 1G. Majority of drops were porous bones.
- Fix to loot drop rates which were unexpectedly reduced in early-mid November. Loot should drop as it previously did with improved drops from veterens, and guarenteed drops from champions.
- Thief can no longer “Finish Them!” while stealthed.
Yes yes yes
(edited by wildcode.5403)
They need to add more styles to armor crafting …
Well, did the pent/shelter/jofast events tonight for a little over 3 hours. Majority of the loot was porous bones (54), next was all the salvagable, bags, and crafting materials, out of the remaining there was only 38 items, 0 yellows, hardly any greens. Selling the items to merchant didn’t even get me 1G … for 3 hours event running …
The loot drops are clearly still bugged.
@wild.
Yes you are again not understanding the point we raised. The whole thread discussed the utility a warrior can bring to a group and you come up with soloing cursed shores? Sry but responding to you is hopeless and pointless.
And my point is that any build I use needs to be versitile, hense why I am running around Cursed Shore killing undead, testing the versitility of the build. I dont want to have to retrait several times a day just to meet the needs of the group. If I can find a build that works for all situations I find myself in then the better it is for all.
Ok, so for the critics: I am now running around Cursed Shore with knights armor with soldier runes, sword with blood sigil, horn with purity sigil, and traited to heal when using shouts, convert condition to boon with warhorn skills, warhorn skills recharge faster, bleeds last longer, crit with sword, more damage with more adren, more power to allies.
Mending for heal, shake it off, for great justice, endure the pain, battle standard …
While I am liking the build … it seems lacking when fighting more than 2 foes at a time, and adren takes along time to charge so the f1 skill is not available for quite some time.
Going into the fight I hit #2, then when at the foe hit #5, #8 (GFJ), do a couple of hits, hit #9 (endure pain), and drop the battle standard … hit #3 and wait for #1 to finish foe off …
Also, I hit #4 (charge) and #7 (SIO) if needing to remove conditions, and #6 for heal and condition removal as well.

I’m just really interested in what caused his dps to get halved.
I have noticed with the shout build I crit alot less, so much so that hundred blades often completed without a single blood splattered number popping up. Where with the signet build I use its pretty much crit most of the time.
This is how I see the signet vs shout argument.
Signet build means warrior does alot of damage, kills faster, and generally able to handle 6 foes at once without much issue with the high crit dmg.
Shout build is more for others who don’tplay warrior but want warrior level dmg, while reducing warriors own dmg output.
Simply put, the whole “OMG, you are selfish” argument is more a “OMG, help ME do more damage while you do less” …
This game does not allow to easily have seperate builds for seperate areas of the game. As a warrior who plays most aspects of the game (dislike sPvP) my signet build works for me.
This is what matters, what works for a persons playing style. If you want more damage, dont rely on others to give it, retrait, refit, and re-equip to give yourself more damage, and dont demand that warriors reduce theirs to your benifit.
1163h over the past 3 months …. need I say more …
Some stores (not alot) have a policy that if a sale happens within a certain time of purchase you can get a partial refund, or the same benifit depending on circumstance. For instance, if I bought a radio, and the following day it was on sale, I could get a partial refund based on I would have waited an extra day if I had of known about the sale.
Not everyone does this but the ones that do, care about customer satisfaction and have policies to reflect that.
death layer just under map surface would fix these bots.
I know this is not a direct answer to your question but might be just as helpful. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Diminishing_returns
Diminishing returns resets at approximately 17:00 (PDT) / 0:00 (UCT).
Wildcode, can you take screenshots of your character with your 5 sig build, and your shout build? It would be more helpful to us to see what went wrong.
Pic #1: Shout build suggested by forums
Pic #2: Signet build I had been running ever since I was able to
Pic #3: Modified signet build for better healing (because I get alot of adren…)
@ Hellkaiser … I dont run berserker armor on my warrior, I run with toughness armor (pack runes) for dungeons and magic find (pirate runes) armor for open world, and swap out jewels for the same.

move to the basement
Um, Australia mate, we dont have basements, and if we did, we’d fill it with beer.
Have you looked into shutting the window or place curtains on it?
There is a thick curtain infront of the glass doors but there is still alot of ambiant light.
I am addicted to GW2 but I am having an issue where Tyrian night time roughly occurs in my day time so the maps look dark compared to the natural light in my room causing my eyes to struggle to see the “darker” parts of Tyria. This is causing some serious eye strain and I am wondering what others have done to get around this issue.
While Tyria is in night time I find I have to have a break every 15mins or so just to rest my eyes. Makes doing anything time consuming almost impossible
I have no issue with Tyria day time which occurs roughly in my night time.
ok, so I went with a shout build, 1st thing I tried was hundred blades since this is our main damage dealer against mobs, half the damage than my signet build … final blow only got up to 5k where with signet build you see numbers beyond 10k … #1 skill does less damage … sure I have more health, but with all the conditions that get stacked on, using mending + shake it off + trait to remove conditions on heal still left me bleeding and crippled … so yeah, less damage and still could not remove conditions.
Note also: because I am not killing mobs as fast, I am dieing alot more often with the shout build than I did with the signet build.
(edited by wildcode.5403)
Here’s a thought, is it possible it also prorates drops based on the amount of gold you have? With 150+ gold in the bank, maybe it doesn’t think I need good drops. :/
Considering I normally have less than 10g in the bank (no more than 15G across the account), I don’t think so. Why so low? Using cash from selling gatherings to make 20 slot boxes so that when the loot gets fixed I wont have to run back and sell as often.
The warriors forum has enough threads with builds who actually benefit your group.
Its not a challenge that you pose but the inabillity to switch to the adequate class forum and open threads there. Here is one for you, look for Yojacks build there. That is a build that actually helps the group as a whole in all the situations you mentioned. But its a shout build so it requires a way more active play than signets warrior usually need to perform.edit Also if you consider a 5sig build valid for WvW… (not just hiding somewhere in the zerg)
And there is the problem, the build is designed to work as part of a group, which does not translate well when you have to go solo against a mob. Signet build with greatsword puts out alot of DPS in a semi AoE way (damage is increased because of the signets, if you traited for it). Plus the build you suggested got nerfed and no updates have been made to it since the nerf.
is the sword, rifle, and warhorn spec’d for power/prec/crit as well? And I think I read vampire sigals … I assume your jewels are all power/prec/crit too? What runes are you using, I couldn’t see a mention in your post.
I dont understand how you got 98% crit, I tried on my engineer and only got it just above 54% with all power/prec/crit in everything (and pack runes) ….
I wish you would state what you traited, the gw2db skill calculator shows 0 trait points and no traits selected
SO I’ve been reading the forums and there are lots of different builds but they tend to be for specific purposes. What I want to know is what is an all round build for warrior, including traits, skills, armor, jewels, and weapon stats. Something that I can use in say Cursed Shore karma farming, then take along to help out a guild mate in a dungeon, then go off and play some WvW, without having to refit, reskill, or retrait.
Currently I use a power/prec/tough armor(pack runes) + jewel set with 4 signets in the skill slots, I did have 5 signets but the healing signet was not giving me enough health for the recharge time. I have a greatsword and a rifle and I have traited for the signets, and the weapons.
For karma farming I switch out the power/prec/tough sets for power/prec/mf (with pirate runes)
Weapons are spec’d for MF.
With all the “rage” towards Warrior builds that “don’t help the team” I tried to adapt by using the toughness set and pack runes, but since I still get “rage” for my build I figure I may as well ask for an all round build that I can use with minimum of fuss in all parts of the game I play.
A special santa minipet that randomly drops a sparkely bag containing T6 crafting material only while you are wearing the santa outfit (and moving).
Its supposed to be based on the zone you are in, in order for you to switch zones and not just farm the same area for several hours. If you go into another zone you should not have any DR there but you’d have to wait for the DR to reset in the one you were farming previously. Heck they even set it higher so DR wouldnt kick in as fast at one point.
If this is the case then it would rule out DR, because I get this across all characters, in different areas of Tyria. Only 3 of them can hit Cursed Shore and the one I’m leveling at the moment is hurting armor/equipment wise because of this bug.
Unless they lowered the trigger …
It could be a messed up DR and I agree that it sounds likely. And if it is, it seems to follow you into whatever zone you go into, no matter if you just logged in after not playing for two days or if you spent 5 hours farming. Well, except for fotm, where you can easily fill your bags with blues/greens/rares.
If it is DR, it will follow you. DR is account wide and has some sort of counter (not quite sure how it works even with wiki) that isn’t reset till the daily resets.
There is a whole thread on it …
Ok, if you are after a little cash, you can run around the 4 high level maps gathering ori, ancient wood, rasberries/omnomberries, etc. 1 round trip can net you just over 1G in TP sales.
Or if gathering isn’t your style, you can help out lower guild members, try jumping puzzles, look at the achievements you havent done and work out how to do them (some are grindy) using google for help if need be.
But apart from that, and WvW, the rest is pretty much grind. Dungeons over and over, events over and over, etc etc.
For variety level a couple of different classes. While you may do the same things, the way you play them will be different for each character. Also more characters means more coin if you do the gathering run with each of them before you sit down and get stuck into the game.
How about this. Instead of everyone knocking signet builds (which are ment to be an all round build), how about offer a full all round build so those of us who only know of the signet builds can be better informed, especially those of us who have trouble working out builds.
For instance, atm I’m running all power/prec/toughness (armor + jewels) + runes of the pack, with signets except healing, and traited for signets. I dont want to retrait just for dungeons so any build that is offered has to be an all round build, good for everything from open world pve, karma farming, to WvW.
There is your challenge, now educate us. And please, do not include that elite banner that does almost nothing in WvW.

I’ve been running into 3 types of bots.
1. Teleporting bots.
2. Stand in one place and kill anything that spawns close by.
3. Bot train.
- is harder to notice (and even harder to report), #2 is easy to spot and report, #3 used to be all rangers but now I’m seeing a mix of classes including warriors, necros and elementalists, makes you think twice before reporting them (just in case they alive).
All 3 types have returned (or never quite left).
(edited by wildcode.5403)
I run a signet warrior (used to be 5 but I changed the healing sig to a skill thats a better heal) and I find as a warrior, everyone expects you to tank the mob … does not work, even with my toughness build that mob in CoF where you do have to waypoint zerg, I’m dead in a few seconds.
I run a signet build because I was told early in my GW2 life that the signet build is the best all round setup, and you dont have to worry about mashing keys as much. It is a good build for those of use who dont have the reflexes of a 15yo hyped up on energy drinks.
And yes I run with a greatsword, with a rifle weapon swap for ranged combat.
(edited by wildcode.5403)
I have looked at the priced of several of the crafting materials needed for different lvl400 crafting, and except for ori, it looks like every single one of them has gone up since about 7th November. Supply for alot of the crafting materials also went down a bit and is stable at a level lower. But ori supply went up since Nov5 and has stayed up, hence the price still in a slight fall since Nov7.
Why? Because drop rates changed and alot of people including myself went from event farming to gathering to make some coin. Hence, lower supply of crafting materials. Sure bot bans had something to do with it but bots have also moved to gathering for the increased income compared to drops (and are hard to report because the teleport).
I make more in a couple of hours gathering with 3 characters than I do a day event running, leveling, WvW, or even dungeon running with just 1 character. And I am leveling more characters to increase that income.
Loot drop rates and quality have gone down. Market data shows this (decrease of supply), and it shows a shift towards gathering for us “farmers” (increase in ori supply). Even the supply of butter, one of the most common drop items on the market has been reduced and its price gone up.
So what ever ANet did around the 7th Nov changed supply, and the lowering of loot drop quantity/quality is reflected in the market and felt by those of us who made our coin from drops. Those who watch and play the market would of noticed the decreased supply and increased prices.
Its is not just percieved, its effects can be clearly seen.
In the story mission The Ghost Ride, when you are transformed your camera moves to as point where you cannot see yourself unless you look down. With camera facing forward your character is below the bottom of the screen. Even with camera facing down you only see foes “just” behind you and need to turn to see all the foes around you.
Is the choppy sound that the fiery greatsword makes when using #1 skill a bug?
So, I get my 4th character out to Norn starter area to level them up some more, and I get the the snowball fight @ Victor’s Point. I pick up a snowball, press #1 … no target on ground … where is it? … Well, now they have this hard to see guide that just gives you direction. It seems you only have to throw it in the direction of the children now. While I think this change makes the heart a little easier, why make the change? It wasn’t that hard to begin with and I liked seeing where my snowballs were going to land.
Hi, I’ve been trying orrmaps out and am having an issue with it only allowing me to place ori nodes on it. I want to place other nodes on it as well, does any one know how to fix this. I tried to send an email to the site admin but its an anonymous email address and msn has the email in some sort of hold.
