Bump.
Bored at work and this sub-category barely gets any new updates. So, how’s everyone reading this post, whatcha up to?
I’ve been trying to solo Lupi on thief lately, the huge amount of dodges and evades that I have is great but I’m having troubles properly escape of the AoE life-leech in phase 3. I assume that’s because I’m lacking some swiftness and my dodges can’t get me out of the ring on time.
^ kitten elitists, man, kitten elitists.
When would you, casuals, learn?
I’ve always thought that “Experienced” in the LFG means that I should have Experience booster running. That’s why I always bring my lowbie alts to the “80 | Experienced” parties since my goal is to be 80 and I’m using experience booster.

I’m not a ranger player, sadly. But the voice of the majority of the dungeon players will tell you – Don’t be a bearbow. This means only using your greatbow in dungeons and your bear to tank the bosses/mobs for you.
Don’t be that guy.
Btw, I had a teacher for Aetherpath from the same guild I linked to you Enaretos in particular \o/
Are you sure that the skills bar isn’t just plain empty when attuned to water? Please, re-check, kthx.
I’d guess that “Experienced” means someone who knows the path that it’s about to be ran as well as the class you’re planning to take to that path. This means knowing how and where to skip so you don’t draw aggro, what build would be proper to use in your team composition, where to stack and how to give your team what your class has to offer, how mobs and bosses work and how to counter their mechanics.
To be honest, never thought what ‘Experienced’ exactly means.
Apart from that, here’s a great guild that is teaching people who are willing to learn how to run dungeons:

If you want, you can shoot me a private message in-game in around 6-7 hours, I will be online and I’d be happy to give you a quick guide through the Nightmare paths of TA.
I made an lfg, ‘’god like ppl, zerk only,u die u get kicked, melee everything, melee lupi of the wall, p3’’. to my surprise ppl actually joined. It ended at the crusher. lol
LMAO. Nowadays I usually just put up the party LFG as “P XYZ First Timers” and I play with whoever hops on. Or I add “bring cake or kick” instead and then request people to show evidence of carrying cake, breaking the ice, you know.

Bumping this one back to first page!
Here’s my young lady.
No.
Sword main hand and pistol off-hand will let you deal with 99% of the mobs in GW though. Just spam 5 every couple of seconds you have permanent blind on the enemy.
Blah. S/P is effective but just looks so…silly. P/P looks fantastic but yeah, apparently is horrible.
Ah well, no thief for me I guess.
Just get some good skins for it and you’ll love it :p

Second post, Arah Mentors. As one of the top soloers, Ivan The Grey will be able to give you full information and details in how to solo.
The rest of the soloers will be happy to help you in this post too. As a really bad Arah soloer myself, my only advice would be – don’t die.
Cheers
What about warrior banners?!
Only Tactics and Defense banners.
You deleted your Asura! goes off to cry in the corner
I felt bad that I couldn’t get the same amount of cuteness your asuras have, don’t hate on me now
Here’s to the people who are as bad at fashion as I am.
Also, bumpy bump
I don’t hate any build in particular, if you can pull your own weight and show respect to the party, I’m fine with everything.
BUT.
If you’re a semi-amateur warrior, who watched a one or two videos of people soloing and have never tried it on your own, that joined a party of first-timers in Arah and you just rush forward and forward without helping me with blasts or swiftness and you try to be a smart kitten when I ask you to help me then chances are I will kick you immediately.
Same guy eventually got his tryhard butt handed to him at Lupi and one-shot at Brie.
stuck at lupi?
i’ve been told everyone just wallsploits it now because pugs are allergic to using brain cells.
And what you’ve been told is correct. The LFG was “LF someone who can one-shot kill Lupi”. I wasn’t feeling like spending an eternity soloing as a thief or warr so I hopped on my guard and killed it. 3 out 5 were dead before phase 2 even begin. I figured their chance of finishing Arah p2 was close to 0 and according to their own words, they have had already spent 4 hours in there so I just decided to stay and hopefully help them out.
Rasi, you know you’re always welcome to come along, it’s a pleasure to have you in the same party
Minigrump – Give me cake <3
run in cirles around the boss
Wait, is there another way to do it? My whole life has been a lie
Been pugging, since I came back, the last couple of days, and I must admit that either pugs got to a decent level or I’ve been lucky. Friendly, skilled groups, just chit-chatting and joking all around, jeez I missed that.
Apart from that, stuck at Lupi group was in distress and it felt so good to explain them a bit about the path and help them finish it. I love how thankful and happy they are at the end, makes me love GW2 again.
How do you guys like the new expansion?
Hi
Posts which derail a topic that are inflammatory in nature are not allowed.
“Man, I missed this ….
Bingo!”
I like this, kudos Iris for the idea. Okay, here are my nominations:
1. Best solo player of the year: As I’ve joined GW2 around 6 months ago I haven’t seen much of solos/speedruns before that but I took quite some time watching streams and videos as I wanted to improve my solo plays too. I’ve seen Miku, Goku, Nike, Sandy, Sesshi, Jerem and more, not going to list all the names, but I’ll give my nomination to a person who went out of his way to pick me and teach me how to play this game, along with many others too. My nomination would go to Blessing Nosferatu for all the flawless solos and carrying he has done in all the dungeon and fractals runs we’ve done together.
But since his name is sadly not listed, I’d give my nomination to Goku.
2. Best speedrun group of the year: While SC did flawlessly in the first tournament, in my opinion they were lacking a bit in the second one. My nomination goes to LuPi (No Feedback).
3. Best speedrun world record: [rT] Aetherpath; Biased because of the music, sorry.
4. Dungeon initiative of the year: While DnT’s contribution to the dungeon community was beyond any words with the tournaments, I’d say those affected only the very high end PvE members of the dungeons sub-forums. As I’d like to be objective on total contribution to the GW2 PvE community, my nomination goes to [NooB] and their mentoring mission.
5. Best Visual Guide: [KING]’s Fractals guide, hands down.
6. Best Written Guide: Would love to nominate a handful of those guides, but I believe most kudos should be given to Wethospu for creating gw2dungeons.
7. Community Member of the Year: Lindybear for Dungeons Bingo!!!!!
8. Most Fashionable Dungeon Runner of the Year: I’m a bit sad my name is not on here ;-; Well, ehm, I love deSade’s mesmer but Spoj’s warrior has caught my eye instantly when I saw him for the first time during one of the Tequatl sessions. Go, Spoj, go!
9. Best Comedy of the Year: Thug lyfe fan of rT here. My vote can’t go anywhere else but to rT … well, maybe to some people’s opinion about why FGS had to be nerfed too, top lelz.
10. Epic Fail of the Year: rT’s Awah p3, no h8 m8. Was laughing and crying at the same time.
‘You guys said you’re sick of getting rings as rewards from FotM. Well, you won’t be getting any rings now. You’re welcome!’
- ANet
Doing dungeons with this guy on daily basis, we’re bad.
Sup.
Hey,
Winter the kazul here; It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here but I feel like I should say a couple of words. This post will probably be TL;DR so feel free to skip it.
Going straight to the topic – I’m done with GW2 and I more or less quit it; I accomplished all the goals I had in this game, except for one – being trialed successfully by rT, but I guess you can’t have it all.
Anyway, as this will probably be one of my last posts on those forums, maybe even the last, I feel that I have to express how grateful I am to a couple of people.
First and foremost, thanks to all my guildies in Cloud of Sparrows for the support and fun we had together in game. I know that I’m not the easiest person on Earth to get along with and I’m thankful that you stayed along in my journey.
Second, I’d like to thank deSade, Blessing Nosferatu, Spoj, Dalanor, Adam, Enaretos, LunarStarlet for picking me up while I was just a casual and teaching me how to play properly (true story); thanks to you guys I became the kazul I am today, good that you had to carry me through all the dungeons and fractals we did together. Also thank you for not just being a strangers over the internet, but also my friends too.
Third, special mentions out to:
Lilith – I doubt you’d see this post since you already left this place, but thank you for the time we got to spent together and for your flawless taste in fashion. Happy to know my characters looks were approved by you;
Swifty – Grand Master Brain, thank you for the fun here on forums it hasn’t been once or twice when I laughed big time on your posts, also don’t stop being gorgeous;
Iris – Never got to really meet but I appreciate what you’re doing for the community, both personally and via [NooB];
Lindybear – Forums Bingo best topic EU <3;
Taku – Thank you for always feeding me cake in LA and inviting me to join [King] fractals runs, those were amazing, I’m sorry I couldn’t get to that point of efficiency you guys have with my guildies;
Trice, Minigrump, IvanTheGrey, Jerus, Novaan, Silber, anyone who I could have possibly left out – Thank you for the fun we had together on here (and in-game with some of you), guys. Keep up the spirit.
All the casuals – for teh Bingo lulz;
All the best and good luck with your future endeavors, everyone, don’t stop being so awesome and keep up the kazul spirit.
If anyone would like to keep in touch, I’m @winterchillz (no kitten, bro) on Twitter. I also am back into Dota 2 and CS:GO every now and then, if you need a kazul to kazul with, we can kazul together.
Many thanks and goodbye,
Winter
That’s my usual DPS strategy, Dub.
I used to put my runs up as ‘p# exp’, but last time I did that I ended up with a little snod and his XP booster.
Cough, just my kazul post back in September..
I’ve always thought that “Experienced” in the LFG means that I should have Experience booster running. That’s why I always bring my lowbie alts to the “80 | Experienced” parties since my goal is to be 80 and I’m using experience booster.
On a side note, aww, yiss, it’s IvanTheGrey!! \o/
New elementalists elite skill suggestion:
Re-roll a warrior.
You can’t DPS when dead?
Sounds like bingo to me.
There are casuals, and then there’s kazuls.
Wait, what
Fresh Air is the best thing that has happened to me as an ele PvE-wise.
I support the posts above and I’d say that they pretty much explain everything about Alpha. I just want to add a couple of words to frifox’s post.
The Teeth of Mordremoth is the only attack that makes me sad when we get to fight him and I’m on my ele. Personally for me, this is one of the most unforgiving attacks in the whole game.
Now this is something I can’t really confirm but I’ve noticed that this particular attack is either not being triggered as often or does not do the same amount of damage when all the players are stacked on Alpha as it would do when you have people running around the room. I think I’ve noticed that when Alpha is in the very corner next to the door for example and everyone is stacked on him, the earth spikes will even go up the walls instead of hitting the party.
Let me tell you something – ANet do their balance based on PvP and I’ve seen some eles pulling mad tricks with CE in there, I highly doubt they’d buff the skill even though it’s indeed useless for PvE. Least that could happen in my opinion is that they’d nerf it just like any other burst damage skill we have.
Well, it’s just gold at the end of the day, don’t think there’s anything else to use it on so that’s why I got it
Lovely, gratz!! ^^ Hope you keep getting such good drops. c:
I decided I want to get the Inci but since this will take me at least 6 months or more to do, I’m really hoping to get the fractals dagger nowadays; it’d be a fresh change to my looks.
Well, just wanted to share my first big accomplishment in this game (after soloing Lupi).
Gratz, bro!! \o/
Listen not to that fool hooman, cake is still available … I think..
a mechanic which simply makes people do less damage and nothing else is clearly what this game’s bosses need.
Correct me if I’m wrong, sir, but weren’t you one of the people vouching for the FGS nerf?
(edited by winterchillz.2564)
I keep screwing up my CM solo attempts, can’t win a game of Legue of Legends if my life depended on it, dropping all the way to plat4 and I can’t think of a job I would like to be employed at.
What’s worse I’m almost broke so I can’t buy alcohol to solve the problems above. kitten I’m failing at everything.
You sure you’re not experiencing packets loss?
SE pt3: Zadorojny and the mobs reset and become invulnerable if you try to pull them out of the room.
People will just gonna stack them at the final boss spot then? unless that is also nerfed.
Or right outside the first door. Both are not nerfed. Though if you stack them outside the first door, you might get stuck into the wall.
SE pt3: Zadorojny and the mobs reset and become invulnerable if you try to pull them out of the room.
So, I don’t log on for a day and suddenly this forum is filled with red posts :o
As of today – AC Path 3: The stacking corner at last boss is removed, instead there’s a very small corner. Guess they wanted to fix the LOS. Boss still gets LoS’ed there :’)
The TA change to the Nightmare tree was introduced with the 9/9 patch.
Lupi is a kitten.
15charsofforumbugz?
1. I think champs generally aggro on the squishiest party members (ex: the golem in CoE bloody loves my ele, every.single.nuke is directed at her). So I don’t think your build could affect aggro. Of course, I can’t confirm since I haven’t tested it personally.
2. Can’t tell, sorry, but interested to know as well.
