Hey guys,

Been doing some story on my characters today when I reached to the Vigil’s mission where I have to investigate the sewers under Lion’s Arch. Upon entering the instance with my human thief, it seems that I was stuck in the pile of rocks that in front of the sewers gate. I tried restarting the mission a couple of times, but the results were the same (gw086.jpg).

I decided to try it on my Charr and the latter seems to be properly position upon starting the instance (gw089.jpg)

I was thinking about buying GW1 in order to get some nice skins and titles, but guess what – nope.

Why not? I bought the game right before the HoM broke (and didn’t get my account linked until after it broke), but the game by itself is a lot of fun, getting those points takes a bit of time, and I know I have my skins and minis waiting for me as soon as the HoM is back online.

OP asked about how to improve his dagger/focus gameplay, not whether or not he should be the one stacking swiftness in a party.

As of whether or not you completely missed my sarcastic joke, I will not comment. And while I agree that eles can easily stack swiftness, I was pointing out that many other professions can do it too without too much of a trouble.

While in guild parties of our caliber this is pretty much a routine, you should, maybe, realize that most players are not interested in the most optimal, min-maxing, speedclearing, meta tactic there is out there, nor in playing in the style of the high tier PvE guilds. I can go on and on but it has already been said over and over again.

Bad advice is bad advice, meta or not. One should have all weapons ones profession can use, even if it’s just for a quick blast or one niche situation.

The point I was trying to make is that it’s not that critical to just go with dagger/focus or scepter/dagger instead of carrying around a bunch of weapons. Most pug parties couldn’t care less if you drop a static field or not.

And if not stacking swiftness = getting carried, I can only say “lulz”.

I really support OP in his opinion. I’m really getting tired of people constantly asking me to provide PS & banners as a warrior, might as an ele or reflects as a guardian.

The “Zerk Link Gear” and “meta” are completely cancerous to GW2 and I think ANet should work in a direction to close the equipment gap between Berserker stats and the rest of the available choices.

As every other player I want to enjoy the content of the game without constantly being pushed in a given direction by a bunch of self-confident kittens who believe they know a lot about the game, proper builds, “meta” and runs and whatnot and think they’re better than all of us because they “speedclear”. As an ele, I want to play a healer and I will play it this way, I don’t care if your LFG was “Zerk”, you don’t have the power to tell me how to play the game.

I’m also sick of “stack here, put reflects” and all that crap. Because all those “zerkers” can’t survive for 10 seconds straight without stacking and putting up reflects that make all bosses suicide pretty much. Real players who have a good tanking and healing capability know how to deal with any situation without exploiting the game via stacking, reflecting or blinding the enemy.

I still haven’t got it but I managed to craft Incinerator without having the precursor as well as I have 3 fractal torches skins.

Just wait until he goes “kitten this kitten” mode, gets out of the ground Warcraft III style and stabs you in the face with a branch, then your kitten kitten will know why he gets swiftness while you’re trying to run for the dungeon exit like a little kitten.

To be honest, at times I feel so bored that if I could, trust me, I would skip all the possible bosses in Arah just to get the gold and be done with it.

I just want to ask, Evapor, why do you care?

Why do you care that someone needed to get carried through Arah, why do you care that people refuse to runk zerk, why do you care that people don’t dodge and don’t want to learn to dodge or to stack might or whatever?

Look, if people wanted to get better at this game, they’d go and read a guide or join [NooB] or ask someone to teach them. In my opinion, you should give up your desire to directly impact the “bad playerbase” and make them good at this game. Instead, do like dozen of the people here do – write guides, document the dungeons and the encounters, post them online and let whoever has interest in it to go and check it out.

I beg to differ on the CS:GO and LoL comparison, as a CS:GO player (Gold Nova 1), veteran CS 1.6 player and Dota 2 player. Games are completely different, you also don’t have a guide in-game (Dota 2 & I assume LoL) telling you how to play with each hero, or how to combine aura items or items with unique attack modifiers, where and how to position yourself depending on your role and class, where to ward, how to last hit, why you have to last hit and so on.

As for CS:GO, game is all about shooting at the end of the day. Yea, you might need to watch a video or two of how to aim your weapon, where to throw grenades, flashbangs and smokes but that’s only if you want to actually improve at it. Of course, none of this is in-game. Pew-pewing your weapon a couple of times would be sufficient.

GW2 players also have a huge amount of resources available (gw2dungeons.com, dulfy.net, metabattle.com) for players who are willing to learn and improve at the end of the day but you don’t see people like Wethospu running around the General Discussions or the “Looking For” board on these forums, asking people “Do you have a moment to talk about meta?” on topics where players and guilds advertise themselves as “casual pvx”, do you?

Anyway, you got my point, I hope. Let the casuals be casuals and let the kazuls be kazuls.

And now ArenaNet will add a player check that will not allow you to start the dungeon if there aren’t 5 people in it.

I’ve experienced a similar issue a couple of times so far. The first time was 7 months ago, you can see the second screenshot here:

If I remember correctly, there was a problem with the login server – you know how sometimes you get a popup saying that the client failed to connect to the login server but you’re still logged on. I’d assume that if the connection to it was bad, then those people managed to hop in and leave the party, letting them stay within the instance without the game server being able to detect the presence of other people within the same dungeon.

Of course, this is just speculation, and when we encountered the issue, we were already in the same party for a while. Finding out how to use this as an exploit though, is a bit nasty.
