As I said on the thread about the requested nerf, FGS is not the problem, nerfing it won’t change anything except for the time that you will need to deal with a given encounter. It’s a non-sense nerf for me.

The problem is not FGS – if you nerf the damage, people will switch to bear form, no one will bat an eye and you will get similar results. The problem is the extremely boring and easy dungeon/bosses mechanics. FGS is not game/ground/kittenwhatever breaking, FGS just makes the whole encounter faster, it’s not saving you from a certain death if you don’t kill the boss fast enough. Why’s the link of rT’s speedkill Lupi record (which is adowable btw)? You think that they can’t kill it just as good without FGS? It just wont be as fast. We need more champions like Mai Trin that have different mechanics if you want to reduce the focus on FGS, but for me personally FGS is absolutely fine and if you are not fine with it, you’re free to do your dungeons/fractals and speedclear records without it.

Solution: Nerf bear form too.

What Miku said. It’s not about making the fights easier or anything, it’s about making them shorter. I don’t personally see a reason to nerf FGS and if that happens up to a point where FGS is not viable at all anymore, I’d like to see what kind of a replacement ANet would offer as an elite skill for eles.

Nah, sorry for my rude post up there ^. But yea, according to some people on here, ANet do not have a team that takes care of dungeons so this might also be the reason for the small number of dungeon instances and fractals.

And unless ANet makes space for such team in their budget, you better get used to Swamp, Cliffside, Dredge and Mai Trin.

Can’t tell if kidding or what. I’m completely sure no one on here is satisfied with the fractal “updates” in a sense of introducing new fractals. Last thing ANet did was changing the Dredge fractal a bit and making, followed by reverting, Mai Trin hit like a truck. I don’t think anyone of the members here consider this an update to fractals.

Mai Trin’s attacks cannot be blocked, reflected, dodged, destroyed.

Cake is the best nomz one could get, hands down.

So, I was lurking random Arah parties stuck at various phases, generally at Lupi, so I can practice some more. I got a party of a guardian who knows how Lupi works in “theory” and a greatsword mesmer who had no idea what feedback is.

After wiping in ranged Lupi fight (and my poor attempt to solo while chasing him shadowstepping around the roo) the guardian felt abused by the party :’(

I have no kitten idea who recorded this, but I fell in love with the “Oh my God, learn to dodge” line. Please, mail the kind lady who recorded this some cake.

I was bored out of my mind last night so I put up an Arah pt3 lfg with the “LF Tank & Healer” description. Took us 1 hour to get people in but I got a very surprising (and really kind) whisper by a person who found our LFG funny. We got down to chatting and it appears that this particular mister has been lurking those forums (he even said he’s seen me, yay!) and has been trying to keep informed about dungeons strategies and so on. It looks like we still have sane people lurking this holy place, guys!

How do you go smashing seals without the hammer? If you’ve defeated the Archdiviner then the hammer would have been in his feet, but if you all went rushing up waiting for your friend to pick up the hammer for you, then it’s very likely that MC Hammer actually stole it while no one is watching.

1,386 hours, 129 days (lol, n00b), DM completed 69 times. Not leaving until I have two things on the table: get my skills up to a point where I won’t even have to apply for guilds like rT and DnT and as long as I have my adowable friends on here (you deSade, you).

Must admit that most of the posts in here make me sad though, so many great players already feel burned out on the game.

It’s a massive damage deal (at least for me and as long as you’re alive) but it’s also very selfish and PHIW. I’m gonna swap the current runes for scholar once I craft my ascended gear. Also, I sometimes swap my utilities for Ice Bow/LH but only in particular and situations such as the Spider Queen in AC.

I think I’m actually the only one who read through the whole stuff. Where can I buy life again?

So, I got lucky and I actually managed to get Lupi down solo. Thankfully, he only dropped dome once and I was lucky enough to survive the rest of phase 3, although I panicked a bit and he ran off the wall. To be fair, I even think fighting him off the wall in phase 3 is actually a bit easier for me.

New players tend to be more receptive to advice. Old players are stuck in their stubborn ways. A lot of new players have come into the game and look up guides etc. So they end up being far more experienced than some stubborn PHIW’s who have played since release.

And as im sure Winter can back me up on this. Many of us vets are happy to help and teach new players that are friendly and willing to learn and listen. I dont go out of my way to teach people (dont have the time or drive), but if people ask me for help most of the time I will do what I can. Because I really appreciate when people think my advice is worth something.

I think that as long as a player wants to improve, it doesn’t matter if you’ve been playing since release or just joined GW2. I joined this game only 3 months ago but I can say that I have a decent, above the average knowledge on almost all dungeons and on the class that I’m maining. I’ve already managed to solo a couple of dungeons and all that was because people like you, Spoj, have taken their time to pick me up and guide me through everything. Many of you, nowadays even me probably, will be classified as “elitists” but I rather take that as a compliment than an insult. I’ve taken what many people before me gave me as knowledge and I try to pass it on to the rest. Some listen, other go wrecking havoc on me. Oh, well, it’s up to them, really.

Just coming out of SE pt1 “ZERK WARR/ELE/GUARD” party. Decided to pug a dungeon for dem lulz .

Next time you decide to pug SE please give me advance warning. I still need a ton of tokens from there to outfit the thousands of asura that I leveled to 80 in the last few weeks when real life made me too casual to seriously run dungeons .

Back to general dungeon topics: I had a very casual dungeon weekend trying to level my daughter’s elementalist from 73 (I think) to 80. After two paths of AC we were left with a 4-man group, and since my husband was busy preparing lunch, I spontaneously decided to hand over the elementalist to my daughter on dad’s computer, jump on my mesmer and drag her into the dungeons with us.

We then proceeded to do AC 3 and TA up with an 11-year-old who had never been in a dungeon (or even in any serious group content) before and had pretty much only stumbled around with her elementalist until then (took her 1.5 years to even get to level 73). It went surprisingly smooth, I only had to take over for the TA skips, the rest (including producing fgs and icebow whenever mom told her to do so ) went better than with some pugs I have encountered.

Many thanks to winterchillz and his guildies who went through those dungeons with us! You made a young lady very happy (and her old mum enjoyed herself, too ).

The young lady did a great job in all of the dungeons we ran, I’d pick her over a random guy any day. I’m happy that the little princess enjoyed it, and you’re most welcome, it’s always a pleasure to have you with us, ladies. I beg to differ on the “old mum” part though

I also strongly suggest the Renewed Stamina trait, it’s pretty much perma vigor. In phase 2, unless you have anyone with quick cast reflects, you want to dodge back and forth and then drop swirling winds or just try to drop them right the way but I usually fail with that. Another option is to switch to Earth and use Magnetic Wave/Invulnerability.
