I feel one of the problems with the Lost Shores was the whole “One-Time” Events. I preferred how they did the Halloween Event, allowing it to be available for a decent period of time to give players the chance to learn the story, complete the events/scavenger hunt, and earn their items. Lost Shores was too short, and if you missed one part, it was hard to follow.

In regards to the instance, I totally agree; I would go so far as to make the events like in the instance like the personal story is: cutscenes, dramatic moments, etc.

Agreed, I’d love to be able to customize my weapon colors, though it may be a problem with some weapons, like legendaries, that are supposed to look a certain way.

Name of a set of Armor

Hello Guys,

I was having trouble finding this on the internet, so I thought I’d ask here. When you are previewing the classes for the Human Engineer (male or female), there is a certain armor that is displayed. Can anyone tell me what the name of that armor is?

Thanks

Guild Armor - Wrong One

in Players Helping Players

xCrusadentx.2784

Hello,
I was purchasing guild armor for my character, when I misclicked and bought guild heavy armor instead of guild light armor. Is there any way for me to get the light instead of heavy, get my money back, or perhaps use the guild heavy armor on another character?

A Few questions

1) You kind of don’t. A big part of Guild Wars 2 is discovery and exploration, and we believe that it’s fun enough to not simply hand the players a list of everything they can do.

2) There’s about 10 questions in this one, so briefly: I never said that max level crafting wasn’t required, I just said that you don’t necessarily need to be a max weaponsmith. Also, I think there will be plenty of time/methods to acquire enough holiday-specific items to craft these weapons.

3) I don’t know the specific chance, sorry.

4) Possibly, the market will decide.

5) Again, discovery plays a part in it. But your best bet is to go to Lion’s Arch. There should be some information clearly available there.

Thanks for providing some information, and yes, I understand the whole discovery aspect of it; some people like me like to know to what extent to content will reach, but I do suppose figuring it out can be quite exciting.

A Few questions

Before you read this, I posted this list on another thread, but I thought it wasn’t a good idea, since that topic only asked about 1 specific part of the event, and devs had already answered it. I wanted to edit it out, but it was too late, so I am sorry in that matter. Now, I will put my questions here, as there are multiple things I’m asking about.

1. How will we know how many weapon skins, costumes, recipes, and permanent items will be available during the event?

2. How will we know how to craft the more permanent items? Recipes? If so recipes, wouldn’t purchasing with Karma prevent lower level players from obtaining these recipes during the event, since they won’t have as much Karma as the level 80 players? With the given time of about 10 days of the event, will that be enough time to gather the materials and karma that will be required to craft/obtain these items? I would assume you can only use items from the event to craft the weapons/skins and such. As said, there will be gear crafting that doesn’t require the max level, but requires level 80 to use; don’t you think that dissuades players from moving to get such items?

3. Weapon skins and perhaps other things will be available in black lion chests; a chance, anyway. What’s the likely hood that we will get a weapon skin from a chest? It would make sense to have a high chance to get these, but I would like to see confirmation on the likely hood.

4. It was mentioned that these craftable items can be sold; not that this is an issue, but does this mean that after the event and the materials needed to make the items are gone, that the prices for these items will skyrocket, as they are no longer attainable? And after the event is over, can it be said that players will be able to craft and attain the items next year during Halloween?

5. How will players not familiar with the information on the event, be able to find discover all the information within the game? Meaning all event related quests, what npcs to talk to, location upon logging in?

Thank You, and forgive me for reposting this in a new thread, but I thought it was better placed in a separate thread, where it can be more thoroughly discussed.

Will all levels be able to fully participate?

Im a little annoyed that all these people who didnt get the game on release or were too lazy to level up are expecting to have all these items haded to them at level 1.

What is wrong with Anet rewarding high level players with content when they have worked hard and supported the game from the beginning.

Iv supported this game from the beginning, I bought the art of guild wars 2 book when it was released YEARS ago.

I prepurchased the game and have have 2 lvl 80 characters and a lvl 65.

I dont think its wrong for people like me to benifit from these events more than others because we have worked harder and prepared.

I dont think its wrong for me to want to be rewarded for my support and hard work.

I don’t agree with level 1s coming in expected to have things handed to them, but players who aren’t level 80 (I’d range 15-50), might have a harder time than level 80s in obtaining things. Sure, those players may not have played as much as you, but love the game, and would like to be involved in what the event has to offer. Is it wrong for those players wanting to get some loot from the event? It’s a player friendly game, and all should be able to enjoy the same benefits. We don’t need a hierarchy of level 80 players with all the gear.

The Halloween event is a great idea and I love the features that will be added; but I feel like players who want to fully enjoy the event should have a chance to do/obtain everything on an equal playing field with higher level players during Halloween. The purchasing of recipes with karma, and crafting items that can only be used at level 80 seems to tip the scales somewhat imo. Perhaps some can answer/consider this, and more confirmation and facts revealed so we can understand a bit more.

Thank You, and hope to see you all during the event.

Dueling!!

in Suggestions

xCrusadentx.2784

Would have liked to see more reasons in the main thread for adding dueling, but I have to agree with you. There have been too many times already where I wished to test the might of my elementalist against my friend’s warrior. A dueling system would be perfect for this game, as it would allow friends/competitors to duel it out, and show they can handle their own. Sure, Guild Wars 2 operates on team based and cooperative play, but, it would still be nice to get some 1v1 action every once in a while, my friends and I would enjoy the hell out of it. Basically, it could be done one of two ways:
1. A specific area, like WvWvW or PvP where players go to and can start the duels
2. A Duel Anywhere take on it, where players can challange each other anywhere; this will allow for players to set up the landscape for their fights (underwater, on a mountain, a cliff, hill, etc.)

Dueling is definitely an option that should be explored in Guild Wars 2; I hope we get some more input on this.

I’ve noticed that 3/4 of the time I use the tornado elite skill, I can’t see the tornado myself, just a huge open space. Me and my mate have this issue, anyone else have it?
