Hey now. Being originally from SBI, I have never fought my old server. This is an exciting experience for me to see how much you guys have grown since I left back in December.

You really expect a server that was abandoned by a bunch of fairweathers like you to have grown? That’s an odd perspective.
I love fighting against good d/p thieves on a mesmer. It’s a game where neither team can make mistakes and as soon as the other one does you exploit them for it. So many thieves get too greedy and burn their init when their target starts getting low on HP. If you can make a thief get over-confident while you have mid HP but cooldowns up you can punish them hard enough that they’ll go down before they are able to escape.
Thanks for the GvG RE. I only remembered to record the first fight and it should be uploaded once I get off of work. D$RP would love to GvG any other interested guilds and should be able to do anywhere from 5v5 up to 20v20 with any interested parties.
For what it’s worth, I think melee train group compositions should have ended when culling did. I hope RE and RAM/CL will open up to more dynamic group organization and bring us heat in the days to come.
I’d also like to thank YB for the bags at West Keep on their BL. You never know when 25 D^RP might be hiding behind left over keeps from a karma train
lol @ the XF commander giving up their position and trebs on west to chase 10 D#RP with their 40+ zerg for 5 minutes. There’s a reason we flip all of your keeps in our primetime and you can dump a wall of golems and trebs on our BL and only flip one thing.
- If your autoattack has an attack chain the chain will progress when you hit a thief in stealth.
- Stealths from non d/p thieves will always be the same duration. Look at their build and see whether they have a 3 or 4 second (traited) stealth. Time your blocks / evades accordingly.
- Stealthing as a d/p thief costs a lot of init. If you interrupt a d/p thief as they try their first heartseeker through a smoke field they have no choice but to blow a utility or sit there and die.
There is one common strategy used against thieves that doesn’t counter stealth though, so make sure not to use it:
- Cry about stealth being OP on the forums and continue to use a glassy build with no stunbreakers.
How I will counter these methods as a Thief:
-If someone hits me in stealth, I change directions. Now he has to guess where I went, which is almost impossible except in very cramped areas (so, not WvW). You will get one or two hits off then flail in the air like blind person.
-Wait 4 seconds, see you waste your block/dodge, then either CnD off a random monster or use the D/P combo for a bit more stealth. Now I attack, and you just wasted your defensive ability on nothing.
-Alternatively, spam Backstab because for some reason getting blocked doesn’t take me out of stealth (seriously, why?)
-If you interrupt me as a D/P Thief, the smoke field is still there. As long as I am still able to use Heartseeker before it fades, I can still stealth. You have to forcibly keep me from using a finisher for 4 seconds, which is longer than most CC abilities. Besides, there are lots of utility skills that give stealth, all with medium-length cooldowns. I personally use HiS, Blinding Powder, and SR and it’s nearly impossible to keep me from stealthing at any point (except when revealed, obviously)
-Strangely enough, Heartseeker can be used to damage someone and still gain stealth. Yet it is not so with the Engineer’s Acid Bomb (Elixir Gun #4). Even more oddly, even if you immobilize the Thief, Heartseeker will still grant stealth, making the most common control ability somewhat useless against the build.
Most of these ‘Thief counters’ are not actually counters if the Thief player has any idea of what to do.
(And technically they are just counters to the Thief class, not the stealth mechanic itself).
Okay cool, so you can respond to these and now we have an actual fight going instead of me just standing there and dying like most of these people who sit there and whine about thieves. FWIW, if I daze your hs in a smoke field, you’re dead on my build. I can immobilize, mind wrack, and blurred frenzy most thieves for 13k-14k before they even have the ability to hs again.
lol…you’re not going to take a supply camp as a solo WvW roamer. You may take a Dolyak…but once you meet up with with the zerg or that group of 3-5…your roaming is over.
Welp now I see why Yaks Bend is in last place in our matchup. Oddly enough, my group of 5 took your West Keep just a few days ago by hiding in it after your zerg flipped it back from Kaineng.

I think I’ll post my time on kaineng, I transferred maybe a month ago to the server to play more Spvp with some friends and because their guild ran zerg buster, kaineng dropped into mag’s tier the next week. I expected to be called a spy, once or twice, people to be hesitant and I play EU time, which is a pretty weak spot in most server’s timezones, maybe I’d have been a godsend, a disgusting godsend maybe but a godsend none the less.
My first day on in this tier went okay, I started off roaming in EB, and then some people started to follow me shrug So I pop my tag on and start leading an attack, great! Actually being able to do stuff on one of the first days I joined the server! 5 minutes later some great person spams, iirc the following in chat ‘’COLHEARTH IS MAG SPY DON’T FOLLOW OR U DIE’’ Okay…I was kind of expecting something similiar to happen so I tried to explain that I’m not a spy and if I wanted to spy why would I wear my darp tag with my icon on, at which point I was told I was a terrible spy….Thanks. At any rate map chat became a roar of ‘’Dat colherth is an spy’’ So I lost anyone following me and turned my tag off…How open of kaineng to accept transfers, transfers who hadn’t moved server since bwe1 and had purely played wvw for over a thousand hours, man.
Rinse and repeat, I joined this server to help out, I couldn’t care less about the score and all I wanted were some good fights against some buds, I managed to get one or two fights before being ousted as the worst spy in the history of forever. The same happened my whole time on kaineng, I decided it was time to transfer home when I got mass reported by XF for being a spy and using up supply and buying upgrades we didn’t need….while dancing, while they were near and insulted me for dancing….
Even though I was already here, I would have stayed if I’d enjoyed it more than mag, I get ousted, someone with more experience than most of your pugs. Even though I was a turn coat my guild funded my return, thanks <3
PS kaineng, you have the worst intercommunication I’ve ever seen. You need to work on that…Seriously.
So, KN is a cesspool of bile and hatred and the sooner they fall to T4 the better. Got it. Yet Maguuma is always poked at for having a “malicious” community. Tbh, Mag has one of the best, if not THE best, WvW communities of any server. All the guilds know each other, are friendly with each other, and work together. It’s part of the reason why we’re one of the more stable servers in the game.
This maybe true, but your attitude towards opponent’s stinks. The lack of respect and class is what other servers dislike about you gummies. Its a constant mud flinging, chest pounding drama filled punch in the nose. Where I come from, the way you win represents the kind of person you are. The way I see it, right now is that you guys can’t handle winning gracefully, I would sure hate to see how you guys handle losing. All in all its been a tough fight, and you guys have bested us the last couple weeks but we will keep going and fighting on the battlefield where the war is supposed to be fought, and hopefully at the end we can get up, dust off shake hands and proceed to the next week.
Yes, we need to learn to be more respectful like Kain. We need to learn to do things like mass report DWRP tags for botting when we get stomped by them, or maybe we should invite them to our party and say things like “fk mag leave wvw”.
Guild ranks are very serious business, I mean just look at DERPs ranks. if I could log in and share them I would but they are exemplary of just how much the ethos of discipline and order run through our membership.
If you post any DäRP ranks without my permission I will demote you to Subpar Mom and you will get 2 weeks of SW tower duty.
Please transfer to JQ to help keep T1 stable. I heard they were able to use some of their skills beside autoattack recently so the populations must be getting dangerously thin.

Nice, I didn’t see anything near even once DARP showed up. Also lol @ the ending. You realize I rallied there and the exp you got was for the mob that rallied me right? I even see myself running away on the top left at the end hehe. I also rallied a second time and then got away to stonemist so uhh… nice try I guess.
Pictures dont always tell the whole story, youre the commander, so most of your guys were generally behind you, I am going to assume this holds true for the picture you posted.. unless you show me a video of at least 3 fights we had I wont believe you, we have a copy of the fights tonight so if we are able to post it we can let that be the judge..
Please post away. Also aren’t you a commander? I thought commanders understood how the minimap on the bottom right of the screen worked. It can also show green dots behind you as well. Shocking stuff I know.
So, retreating from cannon/AC/ballista fire is considered running away? Please enlighten us further on this matter.
Running from Durios when we have 20 people inside and you have 50+ is pretty funny. I guess no Kaineng mesmers know how portals work. Don’t ask Zero how to do them though, most of the ones he tried while on Maguuma ended up being loot piñatas. Or alternatively, abandoning 4 catas at Klovan when 20 of us run inside so you can go try to take Durios instead is also pretty exciting. That’s some Sun Tzu tier stuff right there. If your zerg could do something more than run or stand in place and blast might your server might be doing more than putting a tiny scratch in the overall PPT.
How amazingly bad at counting are you? Anyway we had fun working on handling outmanned fighting and getting a wipe on y’all once was pretty nice.
By the way, when you say you’re “Zerg busting” it typically means you’re busting a zerg with a small group. It doesn’t usually mean “trying to run over a force half your size and running away a lot”. You may want to check your definitions.
My favorite Mag commander for delivering portal bomb piñatas transferred to the enemy team? Ooooh I might need to play in EB some now and get in on this action. Please don’t wipe too much though I get sad when I kill a zerg before they’re ripe and only get a chain of 1 wxp

pyro, mad, war, de/rp are some of the big ones. There are other smaller ones that are mixed in as well. On YBBL de/rp’s presence alone is as large as the 4 yaks guilds working together on that map.

Doing all that took grand total of 10 minutes out of my life. Considering both of us sat around fight club for 2 hours Im glad we can share our no life together in GW2. You rolled our group one time, when we had guy that wasnt there and I was too busy replying to your guild PM spam. Surely you have a screenshot of your only group victory, I will even host it on that page.

Hehe yaks finally got their se tower after outnumbering us and having trebs and mortars pointed at it for well over an hour. Some amazing tactics on YB’s part like running into a sieged up breach repeatedly and trying to drop open field arrow carts / catapults and retreating.
On another note, is it me, or are all of these hacking accusations starting to smell like excuses coming from a sever that’s slowly self-destructing? Or is it bitterness that we set up a farm at Garrison every single night and farm hundreds and hundreds of badges off of Kaineng players? It’s a pity YB tunnelvisions so hard on Mag. If they didn’t, they’d easily be in second place.
All of the hacking QQ is getting pretty old. The same thing has been going on in the T2 matchup thread. Apparently either large portions of top-tier servers are going out of their way to install bannable add-ons into their game, or they are shooting their arrow cart at places the accuser didn’t know they could hit. Given the lack of video evidence so far, I think I’ll go with the latter.
I encourage everyone to just report the hacking accusation posts and move on.
Also Yak is starting to focus Kaineng a lot more. Yak is desperate for second so they always go for second place; however they are just starting to realize that this is going to be Kaineng and not Mag.
