Steal + Long Reach Trait and you got a 1500 range.
Learn to evade the enemy attacks. It’s not that bad to be moaed you have 2 free evade rolls and a great evade Skill. Moa is only strong when you can CC the Enemy to hell afterwards.
And I would insta switch Moa for Basilisk Venom so much better than Moa. Really low CD, not 1 sec cast time, the Enemy is sunned and cannot evade and I can trait it.
It is better to play a 4 vs 5 than wait 20min to play a match because one person don’t ready up.
What I really want to see is a indicator (like a flashing Icon in the task bar) when I minimized the game so I can do other things while I wait.
Downstate is a great element in pvp however I would love to see the downstat to be normalized in pvp, so every class have the same downstate skills and don’t have an advantage over other classes.
Im not django commenting on theif vs ele when he doesn’t even play the professions. Apparently hes taking everything from his 3 ele friends who also says they suck so they might not even play ele either….
I think the different between you and Django is that he play in high rank TPvP and I played against his team and they know what they do. So he also know how easy it is to focus down an Ele. You have a really tough live vs a good team as an Ele in TPvP.
So when I play Solo Q or play vs lower ranked ppl it is easy to kill them fast with a Ele but when the enemy knows how the ele works, how to block attack, how to make pressure on the ele and how to focus targets you need to play you’re Ele really good to get any damage done on the enemy team.
We got a lot of pll that saying ele is fine but I don’t see any possible role where a Ele is better than an other Class. I wan’t to know where Ele is fine? In Hot Join, Solo Q, Team Q and with rank.
When I wan’t to play Ele in TPvP my mates want me to change to another Class and I can understand why. It’s possible to play ele in TPvP but you automatically have a disadvantage when you have one in you’re team.
I think the problem is that they have a balance team that try to balance the game around three different modes(WvW, PvP, Pve) and therefore you got a balance that works a bit in every type but terribly fails when you look at it from one direction.
You got Condition in PvP they are too strong but they also to weak at PvE.
You got the PU Mesmer that is very strong in WvW but doesn’t work in PvP.
I don’t want to see the Ele buffed. I would rather like to see the other classes to get nerfed down to the Ele. The only thinks I want to change on the Ele is the replacement of useless traits and Skills (like the hole Fire Trait line :/ ).
I like the ele for it difficulty but it’s also very frustrating to be more effective in Tpvp with every other Class.
The Good
- Staff from Ele: I like the changes but it is still not viable.
- Trait facts: Really helpful.
The Bad
- The meta didn’t change it’s the same after 3 Month of waiting
- Immobilize stack: You don’t need to time you’re immobilize with your team it doesn’t matter it stacks
- Glyph of Renewal got a huge nerf. Now I can’t pre cast it and move towards my teammates when they are low. Throw the ground targeting I need vision to rezz them.
- Conjure Weapons and Mantras are sill pretty useless in pvp.
- One with Air: 1.5 sek is to short. Nobody will take this trait.
The Missing
- More balancing (I know you don’t want to make big changes at once but it was really disappointing to be in this meta after 3 moth and then see a patch that don’t help a lot)
- I would rather see more drastic change that are change more but in a smaller time frame. So the community don’t need to stuck in this meta much longer.
- Build Templates
- The Fire Trait of the Ele is still not worth to spend points in it.

I would like to see the cp modes from TF2 in GW2. So you still have capture point but the modes will be more team fight oriented.

I know the frustration to lose a game and you know I could beat the enemy players in 1vs1 but then you need to realize they don’t won because their super strong in 1vs1, they won because their strong together. You lose mostly because the enemy team play smarter. I only talk about Team Que (Solo Q and Hot Join are need other options Conquest only works with a Team that can communicate quickly).
So try to know where the enemy player are. 5 ppl in the mid then home and far are free try to tap it. only 3 ppl in mid so probably the thief is roaming try to look for him. And so on…
I liked to have Mesmers in the enemy team easy to kill target. Spot the right one and then kill him with condi. I wan’t to see the mesmer to come back. It’s really fun to play and to watch with portal play and interrupts.
The only viable build in TPvP is the shatter Mesmer and his burst is easy to predict doge the clone running towards you. It’s only hard to doge when he use the skill in invis and stand direct in front of you.
What I want to see for TPvP is a class restriction only one per Class so we don’t need to fight vs 3 Mesmer or 3 stunlock Warriors.
You can go to the Heart of the Mist after the Tutorial quest. And you have no disadvantages. You will have the same stats as all other PvP players.

Then you have the mid range Classes like Ele or Engi but these two are atm not viable in competitive play but fine when you only want to play Hot Join.
Really impressing no qq so far. You should test various Classes. Create one, make the first mission and the go to the Heart of the mist. You lose nothing in PvP when you change your Class.
15 October is patch day last hope for me to play my Ele again. Atm you got the strong Classes (Warrior, Thief, Ranger, Necro, Guardian) and the weak Classes (Engineer and Ele) and the Mesmer is somewhere between.
You need to learn the different. S/F Glass Canon Ele is very good in dueling and a lot of fun in Hot Join but total worthless in TPvP. And I think this build will be very strong “when” the condi meta is nerfed. I played Ele since the beginning and now the devs forced me away from my Ele. The only viable Classes atm are easy to play and also boring to play. I played as a ranger but when I play ranger it feels like I play Farmville, it get bored really quick.
One Question do you talk about Hot Join? Because in TPvP the Ele ist the worst Class. You can take every other Class with you and it will work better for you. A skilled Ele in a Tournament is a poorer choice than a Spirit Ranger without skill.
But I think when the Condi dmg will be nerfed then the Ele is in a good spot. Don’t buff the Ele nerf the strong ones and the Game will be much better.
But what the Ele really need is more Build diversity.
The Devs are not the problem. When you look how many ppl play PvP and how many PvE and you would be the one who make the money and spent the money. Where will get more resources?
I agree with you more option in PvP would be really nice. “normal” Gear could be a option in custom arenas.
1. I don’t know why you want the gear grind in PvP I’am forced to grind the Living Story Skins for PvP I don’t want to grind more. It will make the PvP even more unbalanced.
2. A second mode would be great but I think atm the cp mode is good for competitive play. You need a lot of Team play for it and that’s good.
3. TDM would be a really big mess it would not work. Perhaps for Hot Join put please not more.
What the game really needs is a better balanced Classes and better rewards for PvP. After that we can talk about new modes.

I don’t want to see a big Ele buff I think he is to weak atm but it’s not so much that he need to be to strong. It’s better to shove down the stronger classes. But we need a change in the Arcana trait line, every Ele need to trait 30 in this line and this hurts the build diversity alot.
You only can instagib a Enemy when you can knockdown him and he didn’t use a stun breaker but a Warri can do this too and he has a way more CC. The damage of the S/F ele is really hight but you are really squishi. And when you don’t have a defensive skill ready you will be instagib from every other Class.
How about we don’t patch the game before PAX, because obviously everyone is enjoying the game and this is exactly the meta that shows how awesome GW2 PvP can be.

Elementalist is still a class that requires toning down, and every dedicated elementalist player who doesn’t live in denial will tell you that. Burst damage is over the roof, same as burst frequency, on top of great support (protection on demand, heavy aoe heals and peeling).
Do you play another game than me? Elementalist is the class with the lowest Health Pool and need to trait in water to don’t die instantly. And you cannot burst like a Thief with the Ele, you need sacrifice your skills an got a lot of CD to burst an Enemy.
Thief isn’t weak at all. Try to play with sword/dagger and lyssa rune. A lot of evades and condi clean with the elite.
The only two class which are weak atm are Ele and Mesmer.
I want to collect some ideas to give the Ele more different Builds. At the moment we stuck at 1 Weapons Set and 1 Build that we can use. Only difference in Utilities and Runes.

Is like Russian roulette but you need to insert more than one bullet. If you got a Team with Necros you’re kittened. If you got a Team with CC Warris you’re kittened. I got one match with 2 Necros 1 CC Warri and a Spirit Ranger and a Guard. Aaand your Ele is useless.
Why aren’t engineers consider as op? They have similar access to burning plus confusion.. and they are as tanky as necros, less aoe but better mobility.. they should be tonned down imo.
Because you need to know your class to be effective as an Engineer. It is a strong class but you cannot deal so much dmg without a certain effort.
The balance of the game is atm really worse. It’s build over skill. I had really fun with GW2 at the past but now the game is a Condi spam only game. I cannot play my Ele anymore I need to play another class to survive vs the condi spam. You can make a lot of dmg whit a condi spec and can survive long, you don’t need to be glasscannon like a power build.
On the top of this is the new Warrior 3 second Stun and 8 second invis vs Condi and Stuns.
I liked the old the meta with Mesmer tactics it was a alot of fun to watch and play but now it’s only boring AoE condi spamming.
I know ANET want to make the game “Noob friendly” but I think this is the false way to do it……..

Staff Ele only Works as a Support Class you can play it as an Guardian replacement. I made a Build and It works really well. You have a lot of Combo Fields and you have to used them to be effective.

You know this is the PvP Forum.
My main Class is a Ele and I don’t think he is to weak. You need to play the right Build to be effective but this isn’t a issued of the Ele this is a issue of a lot of classes. You are get forced in a few Build that you must used to be effective.
What Anet need to do is:
- Make the Fire Trait usable
- Buff Focus and Staff
- Try to give us Traits that are viable without 30 in Arcane and 20 in Water I think Fresh Air is a good approach
But this is very difficult to do. Anet don’t want to make the Ele OP so they need to be careful with these Changes.
When you play vs 30/30/10/0/0 Necros you need to burst them down really quickly. Try to play with a Power Engi. Or try to Avoid the mid Point Necros whit a lot of AOE are really strong in the mid fight.
I don’t want to talk about big Changes like new Game mode that need a lot of time to integrate. I want to talk about little changes that I want to see which makes the PvP more comfortable. So I made a list about changes I wan’t to see:
Build Teamplates
I think this is alredy in work.
Mutli Salvage
I don’t want to comfirm every PvP Item that I want to salvage.
Show the Class in Solo Queue
When I get a Group I want to see the Classes of the other Player so I can switch Class or my Build before I join the Game.
Make unranked Tournaments
So we can join without the pressure of the Leaderboard.
More Maps per Map Cricle
So we don’t need to play the same map 3 Days in a row.
Let us change the positon and the size of the Boon/Conditon bar and the Bar from the enemy
So I get a better contol on my Boons/Conditons and these of the enemy.
Give us the ability to post our Build in the chat
Like in GW1 so I can better coordinate with my team.
Custom Arenas
Make Commands to Administrate the Arena
Something like /changemap or /kickall so I can change the map without everybody need to leave and wait to rejoin.
Get us the ability to make a player a Arena Admin
So orthe Guild Member can change the Settings.
Let us change the Team name
So prodcaste can see the name of the Team and not Team Blue and Red.
Make it possible to disable Wepons/Skills in a Custom Arena
So leagues can make their own Rules for their Tournaments.

When I look at the PvP Forum I only want to check about tpvp. I’am not interested in Hot Join. I think it also different to talk about balance change in hot Join or in tpvp.
While in tpvp the point holder builds are strong in hot join most ppl don’t want to sit on a point and wait for enemies.
I also want to see Class Forums under the pvp section. In the Class Forums there is a mixture of PvE and PvP Builds. Anet splitt pvp and pve ingame apart why they don’t do it here in the Forum?
Necros are a strong class but as a necro you are very bad at finishing enemys. My problem in tournament is to get the enemy stomped, I get them down but all other class are better in rezz and finishing. You don’t have Quikness and you can’t make you invincible to finish.
I have the exact same problem no matter what build i use. I get them down, but cant finish them off.
The only two ways to get a good Stomp is to stomp in the plague elite skill or in death shroud when you have the greatmater trait which give you stability in Death Shroud.
But both are more like a Bug. You need too trigger Death Shroud/Elite Skill at the exact time when you press F for the stomp.
Someone in that thread said that a warrior was a weak class… lol
Necros are decent… i would like to see a better power weapon build available… just not too keen on Axe or Dagger.
My Mesmer/Thief are more effective at smashing skulls in WvW. The thief is pretty absurd…. easiest class to play.

It’t a glass canon build you are very squishy put you do alot of aoe damage it is really greate to get a Guardian down, and do alot of damage on a point. But you are weak in duel.

Mesmer is the class with the lowes conditon remove skills, so a conditon Necromancer is a perfec counter against shatter Mesmer.
It’s not about OP it’s about what counter the Build of the Enemy. A Conditon Necro have a lot of problems with Ranger and Warris but are fine vs Mesmer, Thiefs and Engineers.

I notice that the AOE form the Plague Elite Skill is a lot bigger when a lager Character cast it.
In the Description of the Skill the range is set to 240. So the AOE Effect of e Big Norn are way to big.
I am a Asura and my Guild buddy is a Char his AOE is a way bigger than mine.
