The backpack’s stats doesn’t have any value to PvPers but the skin does.
Well, first of all these wings were meant to be skins unique to PvP. PvPers have been asking for PvP exclusive skins for a really long time and I think having these obtainable in PvE will devalue them for a lot of players.
Secondly, up until ruby division, you can’t lose tiers. Basically you just need to play and eventually you’ll hit a win streak and progress to the next tier. Give leagues a few days (or even weeks) for the players who probably shouldn’t be emerald get to their higher divisions.
Took that out because of linen farmers.
I’d be ok with the game taking me out of Q when hotjoin ends and re-Qing me when the next one starts.
I usually restart queue if it is longer than 5-7 min. Sometimes it helps. But yeah i agree, sitting afk in Hotm is boring (hence why i spam forums between queues), i miss old times when you could queue outside of hotm or duel.
Did we ever get a reason why they disabled being able to hotjoin while in Q?
No and no, I figure the more ANet hears that HotM is boring, the sooner they might do something about it.
I was Qing with some friend the other day and after it hit 30 minutes, I’m pretty sure one of my party members timed out for excessive inactivity. Then we had to Q again.
Right now I’m looking at a 17 minute Q timer standing in HotM and I’m really bored. So I figured I’d like to see what you guys think about Q times and how boring HotM is? I remember back in the day we could Q for team/soloQ and hotjoin while waiting, why was that removed?
Now I have nothing to do but stare at a Q timer. I’ve seen it go as high as 40 minutes this season. I know it’s only a few days in, but I think after 10 minutes matchmaking should just put you against whoever…

I got the item, used it, and now have title and achievement completed. All is right in the world.
Each profession was supposed to have it’s own MMR, but I think ANET scrapped it, or disabled it until they could figure out how to fix it. Basically people could Q on their zero pvp experience thief or something and then swap to their 10k games played, max swag elementalist. Easy win for the ele.
Inventive to play other classes and become better at the game. Not sure why this is a problem.
Not that I think D/P is overpowered, but if it were, I’d see more posts about how you can get a backstab by shooting shadow shot while stealthed and mashing 1.

You do know they “tried to fix it” last patch and that was the patch he was talking about, they just made it so new legendary players can get it on reaching the division which is complete BS.

I know two of the solo Qers in OP’s post and they decent have MMR and have pvp’d for a long time, just they have low league division.
Long story short, kite the death shroud. When they’re in it just shadow step away or stealth spam. The necro will usually stay in shroud expecting a backstab or something, which is good because they typically just let it run completely out. That’s when you go back in to dps more.
I’ve been thiefing since game launch in all game modes and to be honest, daredevil feels underwhelming when compared to the buff some of the other professions got (chrono and reaper for example).
Speaking from mostly pvp/wvw experience:
Daredevil just feels a little clunky compared to the smooth as butter old school thief, and I don’t like that you need to take these fancy new dodges as grandmaster traits just to be able to have 3 dodge rolls (which is really nice).
The burst however is real. Especially with d/p, the bound grandmaster trait, and daredevil runes. You hit like a truck, bound alone can hit for 5k (and then stealth you out of a smoke field).
Honestly, when compared to standard thief, DD is “probably” better, but it is definitely not the same difference as comparing standard mesmer to chrono or necro to reaper…
Legendary just makes sense, that’s the division everyone strives for; the accomplishment that people would want to show off. Why have no recognition for that, but give a title for some arbitrary number of divisions crossed?
Well, there’s a couple of things that we were all going off of.
First:
The title should unlock once you enter legendary. It’s a bug, and is slated to be fixed in our next release.
Second:
The ANet blog post said that players that reach the legendary division will get a unique title. Though after looking at the news post history, I’m fairly certain they deleted thatlittle tidbit out of the post. Feels a little George Orwell to me…

It is a little disappointing that we need to grind out more pips for this title, lest we have to do it all over again next season… I would rather have the title be proof that someone got to legendary division — not some arbitrary number of divisions crossed.
I saw someone with the title in a match earlier today, it’s apparently not bugged for some people. It would be nice to know if Grouch was giving is misinformation though… I know a lot of people that stopped really caring about pips once they hit legendary because we were supposed to get the title regardless of how much prestige.
so if i unlock the upgraded llamas ill have to get a bunch more to keep upgrading them?

So… as much fun as it is to qq, complain and restate problems…I’m gonna keep trying to think of solutions and post those instead.
That said, been wracking my brain trying to think of potential solutions to the concerns brought up. Maybe even something as simple as winning always awards 1 bonus point might help.
A lot of game theory problems have simple solutions.
So new people that want to play unranked will forever be up against scrubs, even if they improve and then start farming said scrubs?
Will your MMR improve (or get worse depending on how you play) when farming unranked only?
No ETA for the llama hand outs?
Currently only say chat has talk bubbles! They’re great for positioning the guy that’s talking. Options for talk bubbles would be perfect, unfortunately I’ve heard that options take a long time for dev teams (for lots of reasons).
People are social animals and we need more ways to be social (or anti-social) for a lot of reasons that I don’t really need to get into. It’s in everyone’s best interest and I have a few ideas for friends list and guilds that might help. Some of these ideas are more feasible from a project (and project management) perspective than others:
1) Friends list should save it when you’re invisible from everyone, so when you close the game and log back in, you remain in invisible status. In guild window, just make it say that their location is unknown.
2) You should be able to join guild-mates in PvP (hotjoins or custom non-passworded servers). PvP guilds are pretty hard to come by in this game, and the ones that are actually out there would really appreciate it. It would also open up PvP to a lot of new people, yielding a more diversified community.
3) You need make guild halls happen, and it has to be done right (meaning time will obviously need to be taken).
Guild halls were the place for family to idle together and do banking and merching. They were also the place for PvP to happen in GvGs and had very easy access to Alliance Battles. It was also isolation, you could ignore what you want and play the game how you want, I mean what about the people that love the game but want to ignore the Living Story (for as long as they want) and LA map chat?
In my opinion, I think that megaservers (awesome addition by the way!) may have been a little ahead of it’s time. Something that probably should have happened first was a WvW reorganization or restructuring (hindsight is 20/20). Transfer costs are currently killing the community and really limiting social play. With WvW needing to evolve with the rest of the game it would be cool to see Guild Halls be part of it in some aspect.
Social play is nearly synonymous with fun play and opening up more parts of the game to more people will stimulate everything, including the economy. The Black Lion Trading Company will love it.

A template link that is postable and clickable in a guild MotD, so all of the guild members can check it out would be really nice.
When I run the blademaster trait, my crit chance isn’t increased with the sword like it says in the tooltip. Is this trait non-functional? A bug? Or just doesn’t show an increase in crit chance (but actually does increase it)?
S/P works fine in tpvp, just gotta play it right, and take a shortbow.
Bug is finally fixed now with last balance patch, and it feels much nicer. Unfortunately, hidden thief is now bugged with mug again.
Still bugged, I had to change my build because of this bug…
The trait is almost unusable now because of this bug, IMO…
Since last patch, or one before, Hidden Thief (traited with mug) has been bugged. It will cause a de-stealth (and be revealed as if I attacked) as soon as the thief steals, and therefore can’t backstab.
Has anyone else experienced this? This has been an issue since last patch, perhaps the patch before.
It would be cool if champs did more damage with defiance up, and take more damage when defiance is down. Or something that’s not just a countdown until 1 CC can be used.
