Just so you know that you NEED HoT for:

Certain crafting functions and progression
Autoloot
Gliding

Important functions that help speed up game play not to mention if you die you have to run back to loot IF it is still there. I would recommend it but eh…that’s just me.

You don’t need Heart of Thorns for Autoloot if you purchase(d) Path of Fire, as it is part of the Core Masteries. The only crafting discipline you need HoT for is Scribe. Gliding is, indeed, only available with HoT.

Good luck.

Ah…well didn’t know that. Thanks for correcting me.

Why Map Content Doesn't Last...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: usnedward.9023

usnedward.9023

IMO – GW2 maps and playable areas are rather large and there is always something to do. I don’t do Raids and gave up Fractals long ago. People stay and play MMOs for various reasons and leave for various reasons.

I have come to enjoy WvW along side the PvE content and would like to Raid but unfortunately time is of the essence and pugging has never worked out in any MMO I have played.

WoW is very comparable if not a tad better with the different types of personal instances but the constant money grab of content release, monthly fees and poor economy drove me away. With GW2 I give money for Gems if I wish but use gold mostly. Economy is not too bad and the payable updates of HoT and PoF are worth it to me.

Since there is no monthly fees I don’t feel pressured to play. End game ASC gear is easy to get whether crafting or RNGesus. New players can even get in on the action fairly quuickly.

5 years and I do not own a legendary because ug…I just don’t have the desire for them. BUT there is no stat advantage of legendary which is good for balance, though some will differ on the word “balance”. Exotic gear is cheap and easy and ASC gear is a little better but not necessary for most play if you spec right.

Everyone has there own tastes. The Gem store is right where it should be as this is how we don’t get charged monthly fees. There are people with money out there that buy $1000’s in Gems and they sustain our no monthly fee (btw thank you to them). You get a free glider in game with HoT and a possible second if you get the upgraded version… to make these RNG in maps is not the answer. many go on ale for less than 500 gems and available to those with hard cash or 150 so of gold. Not difficult.

Black lion boxes have been the same since I started with change ups of what is dropped. I got a glider from a wardrobe unlock and a Ghastly Shield that was going for 3k at the time I got it. Spoon feeding shinies to everyone would definitely make the game boring. The 2 tickets for a weapon skin was a shocker when they changed but it obviously is working for them OR they may go back to one ticket next rotation.

Anywho maybe ANET will like some of your ideas and maybe not. Not wanting to poo poo on them but there are obvious things we disagree on.

Want to come back for Path of Fire

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

My experience is when people come back they leave again. They obviously have a game they enjoy and this game doesn’t fit them but “looks good”. I started playing about 2 months after GW2 launched with about 7 people….they all left and went back to other games. A couple came back for HoT but left again.

Though I do not want to try and discourage you or anyone, as it is your choice but if you come back hopefully you play with the investment you make.

Good luck on your decision.

Get a test server.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

usnedward.9023

There is a test server. Devs and select peeps under strict confidence (from what I am told and mentioned above) test before release to weekends like these. PvP and WvW are the only aspects disrupted and many want to try and those that don’t (such as myself) just do the dailies and move on until it’s over or get run over by new specs.

Regardless the release will happen and you will have to buy anyways if you want to progress in WvW and PvP. PvE not so much unless raid specs change and take advantage of the new elite spec. My guess is it will for financial reasons….eh em..

I have inquired on PTR servers before and my understanding is not gonna happen. On that note test servers do not find all bugs anyway so why does it matter where it is tested?

DPS meter really?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: usnedward.9023

usnedward.9023

Now, In all my time, I never saw a ‘goof around’ or “test” build running in anything above T1

Go pugging T4 fractals for a while and tell me what you’ve seen. There’s literally everything around there – longbow rangers (has that ever been more than a bearbow joke?) and guards, staff guards, pure shortbow thieves, staff necros, all those greatsword mesmers and I don’t know what else. I don’t need a dps meter to tell me that they are bad, but I don’t want to know what remains hidden behind seemingly reasonable gear choices. When I do as much damage as the other four combined (yes, I’ve seen that happen), a lot of things are wrong.

What’s wrong with LB ranger?
They’re good against bosses that move all over the place or Scarlet.
The known power ranger rotation is LB , Sword+ axe.
The traits for power ranger has been buffed too.

So you’re denying the entire existence of power ranger in general huh…
Saying people are bad just because they didn’t run the top dps condition build for raids, this is the mind-set of people who use dps meter.

Holy kitten you’re trolling right? Look let me break it down for you:

I don’t care what people play in open world, low level fractals or even dungeons (with maybe the exception of Arah paths) If you are in T4 fracs. Play a real kitten build. Don’t bring your special snowflake longbow ranger, condi greatsword mesmer, only main hand dagger thief, or what other dumb build you put together with your little imagination. T4 is pre-raid content. Build like it. The meta is there for a reason. It makes for successful runs and clean runs. DPS meters are in place to show that you’re doing what you need to do. If you don’t like it. Stay out of high level fractals with pugs. If your friends don’t care that you play your 3k dps longbow ranger and want to carry you then fine. More power to them. But don’t get upset when some people actually playing real builds doing actual damage kick you when you show up with that garbage. The whole set of T4 dailies should only take around 30-40 mins depending on what they are that day. Not over an hour. People got things to do. I may sound elitist, but I’m just being real. I don’t expect people to be 30k dps but I expect you to try. /endrant

Soo…. your opinion trumps the player who may be good at what you despise…. that matters only? Exact elitism that made me quit Fractals and never stepped foot in a raid. I refuse…say it again REFUSE to play a “meta” build. These builds are suggestions and I try to improve on them for my own play.

I don’t want to beat down on a mob with a meta build for 10 seconds when I can switch things up, stay alive and down it in 3. That is the ultimate goal. So when you see one of these “builds” you do not like you may very well rejecting a great DPS player because YOU don’t like it.

It has only gotten worse with the allowance of DPS meters.

Been suggested many times and it made too much sense so A.net just decided to sell it in the gem store for an insane price.

There are those who PvE only and not much other content so they may not get tomes at all or at the very least rarely. Someone wants to shell out the cash for gems…gold for gems to get to 80…why not?

AS LONG AS TOMES stay in the game so those who use them are not at a disadvantage to the money sinkers.

Unidentified gear - Please No, No, No, Nooooo

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

usnedward.9023

So……. let me get this straight…. MANY people over the years have complained about loot filling up their bags and there has to be another way. In comes the copper and silver salvaging gizmos. Then the complaints went to too many runes and stuff so still have to make a pit stop to sell off those and many came here and still come here to post these random complaints or dislikes or what have you.

NOW you get stacking unidentified gear that I assume stack to 250 and now you have:
1. Option to salvage
2. Option to have discover the gear then salvage.

So ANET once again seems to honor those who have the issues and I see no harm done in it. If you salvage and it appears you risk salvaging a possible exotic or precursor….. um…your risk you take.

Personally I see it as a good thing of saving bag space during random runs through the forests and in my downtime I can go discover and then salvage what I like.

People will just kitten anymore about anything….

1. Are you assuming these are all the same people complaining? (why?)

2. Customer feedback is important. Maybe you’ve seen one of the thousands of requests from businesses to give feedback on websites, receipts, or the separate pieces of paper sometimes given with a purchase.

Been away so late response.

Customer feedback IS important and I believe this is why the change because of those complaints or suggestions. Doesn’t mean every one will agree. I know many who think it is a good idea and those that don’t want it. I prefer my 120 slots not be filled during runs and then I have salvage, sell off junk and such from salvage and I believe this is more to the good versus the bad.

I am not assuming who is complaining but have seen it for 3+ years of a way not to fill bags.

either way , its over with , I’m glad they turn and pick on me and stop picking on the 12 year old girl just started gw2 a week ago , i posted this to let ppl aware that ppl need to think twice before saying mean thing online , never know who is behind the computer , could be someone very depress and just want to get online to play game but ended up the same way in rl and online , being bully !!!

YouTube..Twitch..Data...build killers

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: usnedward.9023

usnedward.9023

So you are the best of the best. Found a great build, weapon, rune, sigil combo that annihilates the opponent. You become the master of your build and you want to flaunt it. Personally I want to see it. So does ANET.

You post on YouTube or Twitch or what have you and thousands watch. And duplicate And own. Devs troll around and say hey… something isn’t right and they study it. Oh wait…they also have access to your build data and history and they duplicate it. And play it. And test it.

But wait there’s more. Some poor sap just got owned quickly. They look at that…and his/her build and realize either that dead player was bad or wait…that player is geared and tuned well. Hmm… sound of analyzer laser …. Dev puts into a save file and moves on. Some months later meetings upon meetings and there is a decision that yeah this insert profession here is op in some areas or this insert profession here is weak here so let’s balance.

Oh btw…thief is ignoring sword and this profession is ignoring this weapon or there is favor to this particular weapon. So let’s balance that too.

Thief goes into a raid and for some ungodly unknown reason spends an hour or more downing a boss by poof and stab and trap and poof. Let’s balance that too.

Guard has a staff called a “lootstick” for obvious reasons… let’s balance that down a little to be fair.

Cries of OP and nerf this are met with maybe, maybe not and nerf hammer comes down or in some cases the buff gods reflect down on a profession.

Many times we see “unintentional” which means certain build strategies exploit (not necessarily on purpose) the balance system and sometimes ANET acts fast (remember the annoying ghost thief?) and sometimes strategically balances at a certain time.

Balance is an ongoing process and yes, sometimes backwards. In the end there is always a way for you to somehow work around the nerfs or buffs to fine tune your playstyle.

Name a POPULAR MMO that has zero balance complaints. When a mesmer can pop three clones, destroy and pop again immediately and again destroy me to the earth in seconds on a heavy toughness/vitality/cleanse build…that appears to be an issue. BUT WAIT THERE’s MORE! I find that mesmer and sneak up burst down and make them lie in that same dirt pile. Am I now the op profession or learned how to adapt?

I challenge all of you who have been nerfed to (word of the day: ADAPT). Chances are that an over nerf will be repaired. Most cases it is the sake of fair play. Once you put your build out on meta or for those to drool and watch on some social network you risk duplication and decapitation.

Life is short go have some fun. Walk away. Relax. None of us are getting out of this life alive why have a game kill you?

I still take the response from ANET is that it is nerfing a build that takes advantage of all in one build and that is how I see it.

That’s not what they did however.

In PvE it is hard to see it, only in PvP and WvW can you see where ele is built for sustain, heals and damage all in one and to this I see why they are making the change.

Okay, please, do show me that OP build from sPvP that did all 3 of those things, and did them well.
Because last i saw ele builds were mainly built around going full sustain, if they wanted to last more than few seconds against any opponent.

I stand by my interpretation that ANET doesn’t want this profession to be ALL THAT IN ONE. That is what I get out of it.

I don’t hate on the ele. I hate I can’t take ‘em out without some sneak attack burst but by all means watch this video. I take no credit as it is not mine but look at the cleanse, sustain, damage etc…. This is what I believe ANET is trying to point out. I don’t have an active ele… never enjoyed them… BUT I do go up against them and many are very close to this. Can’t point to a specific build because once again I do not play it nor do I care. I just want to beat them :P

I think the quote is being mis-read or maybe I am just reading it from a different perspective. Ele can dps, heal and survive all-in-one meaning they don’t want this to be the case. Ele in WvW is hard to kill built like this (not complaining as it is what it is) and I think they want this not to be a one slot build where you can have the best of all three worlds in one build.

Most professions you have to choose what you want to do. If you choose a little survivalability (not a real word but eh)you loose some dps. Glass cannon dps you gonna melt fast and so on. So imo they are focusing on an area where all three that makes one build and maybe force the player to choose one or two aspects and if you choose all three then you will fail at some point. BUT you have to include the rest of the paragraph to get a better context as not to possibly mislead so here it is:

“To this end, we are modifying the functionality for a few skills that unintentionally overperform against large hit-box targets, in addition to a select few damage reductions.”

Uh huh, what are you talking about now, Revs and Druids are better healers, Every class has better sustainability with out having to go full healing gear and change and entire spec for it. And no i didn’t stack it out of context that what the statement said your taking what you want from it.

Also there are no glass cannon ele’s in pvp wvw at all find me one i promise he’s either gets nothing done or he sucks and cannot comprehend that he sucks.

A nerf to overload air and fire made no sense because it was only viable for dps and at that for glass dps and at that in pve only AND AT THAT JUST RAIDS.

Every scenario clearly only means raids anyone can see this.

Dude…calm down. We are talking ele’s, your complaint and and my response. My response was not towards other professions. I am merely pointing out the way I took ANETs post. You wear cloth…um..cloth means you are weak so you must do damage unless you build in sustain and heals.

I still take the response from ANET is that it is nerfing a build that takes advantage of all in one build and that is how I see it. In PvE it is hard to see it, only in PvP and WvW can you see where ele is built for sustain, heals and damage all in one and to this I see why they are making the change.

Whether you and I agree or disagree on the nerf is not the point. Your responses are clearly in anger and I would suggest you adapt because ANET sees something you don’t, others do and your complaining in anger will not change their mind.

I think it’s over due BUT I think there should be a limit per account.

New players should be encouraged when they first play the game to learn the game by the leveling process. If they choose to skip it and learn while at max level, that should be their choice. They can always start a new char to learn things. We should not be given more limits. Instead more reasonable options.

If I want to level all my chars to max right away from now on, I should have that option. Not be limited by someone else’s choice to not learn the game the common way of leveling up in one of the 3 modes.

I don’t disagree. I think though we will see a flood of new players not knowing what they are doing and then whining when no one wants to help spoon feed them.

Let's Talk GW2 Core Game And Adapt

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

usnedward.9023

So why do they continue to options to core players and make them more reliant on the elites? Or, in the case of Warrior, make the class reliant on the elite, then nerf that into oblivion.

You see it as a “nerf” now but have you tried it in PoF with duel daggers….

Sorry, but I have absolutely no desire to try Spellbreaker or its dual daggers – I worked hard for Sunrise, and I want to use it, kitten!

Your choice and I respect that. You may sustain yourself with that play or you may find it doesn’t work. I have played Thief and Necro without elite specs. They work so not necessary but you do lose some advantages here and there but no different than spec’ing into elite and lose other advantages from regular trait lines. Good luck

I’ve been running Core Ranger for two years, and have seen nothing but nerfs – especially its survivability – to it as Druid got buffed more, while being the problem. Core Warrior is in the same boat – All Warrior traits got reworked to feed Berzerker, and our core weapons nerfed because of Berzerker (Shield bash comes to mind, because that+Skull Grinder+Headbutt proved overwhelmingly powerful), and now we’re losing tjhat. We can’t go back to Core Warrior. And, outdated skills like Killshot and Flurry (Pure suicide to actually use) have been overlooked, while other core burst skills were outright nerfed. We can’t go back to Core Warrior, because it’s been taken from us by Berzerker.

I struggle with ranger but I always find a way to succeed and again this is the point. If GW2 stayed the same way since release without changes it would be boring. When I read patch notes and they say this is being ignored and we want to make it worthwhile to try this is what they are trying to balance. If we all took the same weapons, stats and traits because that is what works it gets boring. Right now I am running a ranger in game with power gear, trinkets are condi and using a shortbow mostly with some weird traits, non-meta pets and runes and guess what? IT WORKS and isn’t meta. META changes and this is what I and everyone else has to adapt to…. changes.

Your choice and I respect that. You may sustain yourself with that play or you may find it doesn’t work. I have played Thief and Necro without elite specs. They work so not necessary but you do lose some advantages here and there but no different than spec’ing into elite and lose other advantages from regular trait lines. Good luck

Let's Talk GW2 Core Game And Adapt

So why do they continue to options to core players and make them more reliant on the elites? Or, in the case of Warrior, make the class reliant on the elite, then nerf that into oblivion.

You see it as a “nerf” now but have you tried it in PoF with duel daggers….oh wait not out yet. That’s the WHOLE point of my post. WAIT until everything drops. I am sure there will be fixes once the game is live with a larger player base than testing ones. Even then you “may” have to adapt just like HoT we had to adapt.

Let's Talk GW2 Core Game And Adapt

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: usnedward.9023

Core Game:

Everyone who has purchased GW2 and XPAC have the same opportunity in every aspect of the game no matter the PvX they choose to play. Some play all aspects or maybe one or two. Personally I believe that most players play or have played all PvX outlets. PvP being the weakest for most due to it’s structure and overall type of player. WvW is a cross between PvP and PvE and imo most play both of these aspects whether just dailies or a few hours a week.

NOW in regards to patches, updates, new content and the dreaded “balancing” of the game, ANET has the duty to apply these changes to the core game and core PLAYERS. It doesn’t matter what I like or you like or Suzie likes or Mike likes. It is a consensus on complaints of issues, general knowledge and using raw data (btw we do not have access too this raw data and can only surmise whether we think we are correct or not) in order to construct a playstyle that benefits all player types.

Then there is the business direction. GW2 competes with many MMOs and so ANET/NCSOFT must continually evaluate not only GW2 but also what it has learned from their other game titles and competitors.

PoF has not dropped yet (evaluation this weekend) and the balance patch is in part due to the changes in PoF (just like HoT) and even though it is hours old….. many have issues with some changes but do not think of the big picture. Complaining before they have even stepped a foot into a patch or a balance that is obviously geared for future content and yet so many already “know” how to fix it when they haven’t played it (another reason I lol myself to sleep at night).

I play WvW (not as much as of late but I still play) and I never thought I would see gliding. I just tried it out and think ANET has done a good job (so far) on how to ensure an aspect available to the core game is now available to the many who PvE and WvW. I believe this took many man hours and meetings on just how to implement and pretty much think they nailed it. Is it perfect? I am sure some flaws will have to be worked out but I think this will change how “blobs” run around and can now be dropped on from a blob above and scouting made easier for the soloist. We shall see.

I never thought we would see mounts and still wish they wouldn’t. BUT implementation in PoF seems to be a very well thought out process on how to use a mount for other than running around place to place. Yet to be seen (this weekend we will) on just how the integration will work.

Balance is hard and EVERY MMO forum is loaded with balance questions, issues, complaints and praise. Nature of the beast.

Lastly I would like to define a word:

ADAPT – become adjusted to new conditions. This is what I have done since GW2 released…. adapt. I still enjoy the game and though I do not subscribe to content like raids and dungeons there is much more to the game to explore. (PLEASE ADD FISHING) Good idea Ed! I have reworked my armor and weapon stats, deleted characters only to start a new one with the same profession. All in the name of adaption.

The core game is forever changing and I still enjoy the game. Unlike WoW the changes were too broad for me and required much grinding and a MUST to level and change gear every release. If you didn’t raid or do dungeons you were left out with sub par gear (unless you were rich) and even then could not acquire enough to be particularly good.

Some changes…yes will alienate people from this game but again the key word is to “adapt” even if that means you have to switch professions while you work out the bugs of your current situation.

So let all of these changes sink in. Some will leave, some will stay and some will come that are new. I have tried so many MMOs and unless you are diehard PvP or into grinding hours away without much fun I keep coming back to GW2. Not for simplicity but to play the game the way I want without much interference.

GL in game my friends…

Why does raiding feel so unfriendly?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: usnedward.9023

usnedward.9023

Being someone who hasn’t raided previously in GW2, I’d like to get into it. But honestly the vibe I have gotten across the board has been that its pretty much out of the question unless you are lucky enough to find a “training” group. I looked in LFG and it was pretty much only wanting exp players.

Am I missing that much if I don’t get to experience raiding?

Let me be honest. There are good people who raid and usually these are guild based and set groups. Most larger guilds have training days. HOWEVER just like every other MMO I have played there are always the few who ruin it for me every time which is WHY when I started playing GW2 (no raids at that time) I swore I would never raid if they ever let it in game. Well…they let it in game and I have ZERO interest and never been in a raid. I know many people who enjoy it and I see in chat those who would ruin it for me. SO I just stay away.

Good luck if you decide to raid but IF you do have fun…don’t be a jerk

Ever pop in a game cartridge or CD into a console game and just go? Really that’s what most people do. Install and go. Want tips and tricks and shortcuts? That’s what the wiki is for and videos and guilds and Google University.

This “whole spoon feed me” generation is starting to get old. Think outside the box. There are so many resources out there.

Balthazar Rip-Off

Because people like to compare this game to WoW all the time. Balthazar has been around since GW1. I don’t see the resemblance.

Me either. I said, if anything, he’s a “rip-off” of Ares. I don’t see how a giant fire elemental with a giant hammer is similar to slightly-larger-than-normal transcended human with a sword.

I think developers are careful on both sides of the fence. With magical worlds there are always going to be certain “similarities” with skills, spells and the like. I think Blizzard or ANET/NCSOFT would already be screaming if this was even remotely true.

5 new maps to spread us thinner.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: usnedward.9023

usnedward.9023

So for the last expansion people complained about the lack of maps and now people are complaining about too many maps?

This is what the forums is all about. Nerf power…power nerfed…nerf condi…condi nerf inc. No one on WvW maps…queue is too long now…and then will be empty again when PoF drops so get ready of no one on maps again. PvP – nerf rewards…rewards nerfed now to hard. WvW – we want rewards… rewards too hard. PvE – We want challenging content….everything is hard because it’s gated.

PoF hasn’t even dropped yet and already people have ideas how to fix something they haven’t played. It’s the nature of MMO gaming forums. A place where the player base has a better idea how to do things with no business sense or access to raw data.

Inb4 they make us buy all new mounts

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: usnedward.9023

I would imagine buying new skins would be voluntary, much like Glider skins.

I’m looking forward to dyeing my Mount. =)

I think the OP’s point was that if you want a glider skin you pretty much have to buy it. Can’t earn straight gliders in-game.

Point taken but again…. game is pretty much free after initial investment. How do you want them to earn money? Like mentioned before it is all cosmetic BUT I really don’t see them selling mounts as each mount has specific skills UNLESS each mount you purchase used the same skills. Then so be it.

ANET has never sold anything that gives the player an advantage over another. DON’T say “well what about boosters…” Advantage is to EXP and RNGesus and not an advantages that are stat based.

I have always been against mounts in this game but I think they are introducing them right. I HOPE though that they are disabled in cities.

And if they don’t make new maps? What sort of an expansion would that be?

Fine by me.
Last new map I’ve got was bloodstone fen and only been a few times.
None since.
They chasing the hardcore gamers off a cliff with all the new content that filthy casuals like me are being left behind on.

Interesting. I am a filthy casual as well. You can complete the new maps in an hour or so. Each part of the season one to two hours.

XPACS in most if not all MMOs contain new areas or maps. It is your choice however what you want to complete.

ALSO for others in this post… the maps HAVE group content but not necessary to complete them to complete maps with the exception of some HoT maps. Even then you can go to those maps and chill if you want or help. I recommend the latter.

There are always gold farmers and event chasers on most maps all the time. I never run into an issue looking for a group map event that cannot be completed. Just my opinion.

Um… can someone, a dev or mod, clarify the minimum space requirements? It says 50 GB. Is that for all the current content?

Right now, GW2 is about 29.4 GB for its GW2.dat file (and I have HoT). I only have about 32 GB of space left on my computer… Do I actually need 50 more GB or is the 50 GB including at least the core game?

That is an excellent question. I’ll check for you.

And the answer is, the 50 GB is for everything, not in addition to what’s already in use. Thanks for asking — it’s worth knowing in case others wonder about it.

Crap… I don’t want to uninstall 50% of my other games. Can’t afford a larger SSD yet.

Defrag! <— meant as a joke.

Since I started PC gaming in the 80s, I totally understand what you’re saying. (My first hard drive was 40 MB, and that was considered well above average!) Maybe get an inexpensive external storage device and move a few things there?? Best of luck!

My family’s first hard drive had… like 12 MB on it. We were like “how are we EVER going to fill that?” XD

And sorry, I misread. Actually, I DO have the space for PoF. Especially since I just uninstalled a game I haven’t played… at all since I got it. I have 48 GB open.

It’s kinda moot, though, I’m not getting PoF until I have a source of income, and well, if I want a 500 GB Samsung SSD (I currently have their 250 GB one)… that will require a source of income as well. :p

I play GW2 from a portable HDD via USB3 cable when I travel. Never an issue since thru-put. So there’s that too

But is it as fast as an SSD? (Because I do have a good External Hard Drive I could put GW2 on)

No issues but running a GTX 4GB video iCore 7 32 GB memory so no…no issues. can’t compare to SSD because I never had one. I am sure though would be a little faster.

Sure people have questions but most of these questions can be answered by watching the supported videos. My eyes bleed from these posts (some are genuine) and I think Gaile just quit (jk). Lord knows I would hate to be a mod at these times.

YOU GET TO TEST IT OUT sort of. Most questions I think can be answered then. I am ASSUMING you get access to all five mounts to explore and test and so forth sort of like HoT. We shall see but….:

Stock up on sunscreen and sand-proof your armor, because a Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire PvE preview weekend experience is coming soon! Every Guild Wars 2 player with an account in good standing will be able to play a demo of the expansion from Friday, August 11 through Sunday, August 13.

Yes mounts are coming. Some are happy some are sad. I wish they didn’t personally but after watching the mount specific video, well… it’s a new direction and I am sure I will enjoy it. Sure wish I could fish >: GW2 is NOT WoW Two very unique game playing styles however ANET has fought the battle and lost… well maybe not lost. Mounts will open up an area to draw in a different crowd with keeping the majority. Business models change with customers. Get on the bus or get run over….

Keeping the above in mind you can buy the game and play until an XPAC and buy that and yet NEVER have to drop another dime with the other content that comes out in between AND no monthly fees. NOW if you want to spend more ANET will gladly accept your form of cash and give gems for some shinies. Imagine that…all the free stuffs and y’all still complain….. lol myself to sleep some nights.

WvW content missing? Well let’s see… I play 60/40 or real close to PvE vs WvW and the recent WvW update helped but boy did it draw out the PvE haters so really the WvW players (hard core) should be happy that PvEr’s will be leaving you to no queues and no one on maps again. Oh wait…prolly will gripe about that again. BUT WvW is supposed to have it’s own update as the game is huge and this is how they chose to do it. Read the bus comment again I suppose.

PvP – Don’t PvP so no comment.

Overall from what I watched, I SUGGEST everyone go watch, in the videos it is a slightly new direction and looks okie dokie here.

NO LEVEL INCREASE – Thank the in game gods! One thing that drove me crazy with some MMOs is that every xpac you had to level 5 or 10 more levels for each toon you have. GW2 has never done (GW1 too I think) that thus far and that to me puts any toon in the game at anytime. Though I wish mapping would be account wide based on your level (HEY THAT’S A GOOD SUGGESTION EDWARD wink wink)

Anywhoo… I think that is enough sarcasm for now. THE POINT is go read about the patch and watch the videos and you will learn so much more of what this xpac will bring. No, not every question will be answered but the ones I see floating around is like facepalm…her we go again.

I love you guys and gals!
