Shooting for:
D/F + GS, proc vuln + proc lifesteal sigils.
Heal Shout (or maybe CC, though it’s been nerfed heavily), Run Sigil, Pet Shout, Condi Transfer Shout, Mr. Stumpy
Blood (Rez, Vamp, Transf) + Soul (Vuln, Shroud, Crit) + Reaper (Shout, Crit, Speed)
Crusader everything.
Either Runes of the Scrapper or Runes of the Fighter, not sure if I need the lost power for more condi cleanse.
Terrible? Probably but so far enjoying it as I get nearer and nearer.
Longbow has always been a better option for Condition builds than Rifle anyways. Rifle gives you a single attack that provides conditions, and then a bunch of Power skills that do nothing for conditions.
This is exactly why I think the bow should cause bleeds with the auto.
186 Base power with a .4 modifier is incredibly weak. I don’t like to compair skills between classes in a vacuum, but just looking at thief shortbow 1 or engineer rifle 1 quickly shows how weak this attack really is. Honestly, a 40% damage boost would be more like it.
Seeing as that’s a near 70% damage reduction…
I’d start around the +80% – +100% mark and tune from there.
the quickness will allow you to get the same stack of bleeds you would have if you used the normal skills anyways with the autoattack.
You, ah, missed the part where you’re replacing 2s bleeds with 8s bleeds…
Before the concerns, I want to list this: Changing a condition-based auto attack to a power-based one in a weapon with a power-based damage dealer and a power-based burst skill is a GOOD THING. It’s the same problem that P/P thieves have. But it has to be done well.
So, the two concerns.
1) With the removal of the Condition based auto, now BOTH ranged weapons for the Warrior rely on Conditions. Wouldn’t it be advisable to also change Dual Shot (Warrior Longbow #1) to cause considerably less damage but to cause a bleed? This would synergize with the burn caused by Fan Of Fire (Warrior Longbow #2) and Combustive Shot (Warrior Longbow Burst) and the heavy bleed on Pin Down (Warrior Longbow #5).
2) While the proposed 20% damage increase sounds tasty, let me look at the numbers right quick: Right now, my warrior with 1 566 power and 828 condition damage, lists Bleeding Shot as dealing 264 damage… followed by a 756 bleed. Changing that to just 317 damage is a 69% damage reduction. That’s massive. Now, yes, I realize this is in large part due to the brilliant synergy with Deep Cuts (Warrior Arms III, +50% bleed duration), but that trait is in the same tree as the Rifle buffing trait Crack Shot (Warrior Arms IV, 20% rifle and harpoon gun reduction + piercing). Again, that’s massive.
Now, there are mitigating factors – building heavier Power will make my Volley (Warrior Rifle #3) and Kill Shot (Warrior Rifle Burst) hit harder, and the extra adrenaline on Vulnerable targets will let me Kill Shot more often (painfully slow as it is to do), and that’s before crits, but I just want to point out that every crit, currently, means a 33% chance for a 336 damage bleed from Precise Strikes (Warrior Arms Adept Minor) and a 60% chance for another 5s (actually 7.5s) bleed from the Sigil of Earth. We’re talking about a severe damage decrease here, and I think it might hit far too hard.
So there. Two concerns of mine.
Bonus points for the ability to reuse some common traits (bleed on crit, 50% landing damage, vigor on crit, etc.)
Let me preface this by saying the change to the Death Shroud UI to no longer hide conditions was brilliant, and I support it fully. I do regret losing a bit of “Feel”, but it was definitely improved.
That said, I feel it should be improved, and this is how: http://i.imgur.com/nmfpxMG.jpg
Can you even tell the difference? Odds are no, because this is one of the things that is very “in your face” right now but looks more natural there. Okay, so I should have edited the #5 box too, but that might lead you to realizing “hey, didn’t the ‘in combat bar’ used to be yellow?” And indeed it is. Could we please have it turned to green so it’s not as…. out of place?
[edit] also, consider turning the health orb an unhealty looking reddish gray, and making the life force bar glow more, so the eye is drawn towards the proper one.
Underwater Fractal, jellyfish boss – if it eats a Ranger pet, it’ll digest it for the maximum duration, taking 10% damage and regenerating health all the while.
I can get behind this – in no small part because I -hate- machinegunning arrows.
Give it Ice Bow’s #5’s animation. Hell, make it guaranteed crit. Something. Just don’t machinegun. It already contributes to make Shortbow unplayable for me.
…because I certainly do. I -hate- the sixty second timer for daring to swap out my pet. I’d much rather have a way to rez the way I have – some other way than my downed #3 ability.
Plus, I really hate the feeling of not using Heal as One / Troll Unguent to its full potential because my pet is currently downed.
Thus, I think there should be another way to rez pets – some combination of innate even in-combat health regen and incoming heals helping rez the pet – especially if heals from the ranger are stronger than outsiders’.
In addition, the forty second “penalty” on having a pet downed swapped out should scale with the progress of rezzing – if my pet has 75% of its health back when it swaps out, I should only have to suffer a 30s total cooldown.
Thoughts?
Thoughts?
Honestly? I’d rather they moved Blowtorch and Glue Shot to offhand torch and gave us a REAL offhand pistol. That shoots BULLETS. At RANGE.
Tried 4 or 5 times, then said “nope, I’m’a farm some more candy corns.” Been happy since.
When I made this map I was HOPING that people who aren’t into jumping would do exactly this. They’d see a fun Halloween looking environment, maybe get to the first chest and snag a goodie, then be on their merry way. I see now it was a mistake to make the hardest jumping challenge in the game part of an in-your-face update like a holiday event. I’m not going to stop making difficult stuff like this, they just won’t be so prominent in the future. I honestly hate making people upset and have a very high level of empathy. So it’s been hard hearing all the people that are so angry, frustrated and sad because of something I’ve made. But it’s just another lesson learned.
The problem isn’t the difficulty – the problem is the difficulty combined with the time-limited nature of the puzzle.
If you were allowed to retry again and again at your leisure, there wouldn’t be a problem.
As is, you have everybody doing it now, getting in each other’s way, and being forced to try and complete it before it goes away.
Two problems with the weapon that I would like to see amended.
Problem: No AoE whatsoever.
Suggested Solution: Necrotic Bite (third stage of auto-attack) hits up to three adjacent targets. Also helps with life force generation.
Problem: Melee weapon with no gap closer, Dark Path unreliable.
Suggested Solutoin: Dark Pact becomes a toggled skill, with the second skill teleporting you to your victim. Sorta like a reverse Shadow Strike.
Going too far IMO. I’d rather have a nice big “Go Home” button to put me right by my home instance’s door.
…because they’re not already too much of a loot pinata?
…this. This is brilliant!
Soon after leveling a character up and discovering the Mists trick, Lion’s Arch becomes your character’s home, with little to no reason to go to their actual home.
Thus my suggestion to make going home easier, to encourage socializing in racial towns. How, simple?
Add a new button somewhere on the hero screen. Label it simply Go Home. What it does is port you, at no cost, from anywhere in the world, to right outside the door to your home instance. Hey presto. No mists, no Lion’s Arch. You’re ready to socialize.
I think Kite up there forgot the most important bit.
Make the other cities as easy to access as LA is, what with the WvW shortcut and the Mists and the access from all cities…
Ugh. It’s hard enough to get the look I want when limited by armor category (want Archon hood on my charr soldier ;.;) without being further limited by profession.
Please no.
So, what you want is GW1’s auto-walking system?
I’m sorry but that’s unlikely to happen, not with how much more importance movement has in GW2.
Lots of work for not much benefit.
Sure, it’d be nice sometime but A: it’s a lot of work (have to make these for every class * skeleton, versus just the stomp animation for the four skeletons) and B: It’d detract from the earned/bought finishers.
That said, I would like class-depended FX on the stomps – cracked earth for Warrior, a flash of light and a symbol for Guardian, attunement dependent something for Elem, stuff like that.
Maybe make it earned somehow.
Yyyeah, that really is annoying.
Like how Evasive Arcana (Elem Arcane GM) uses far weaker (but still great) versions of the listed skills.
Or, to use your example, shouts heal (for 1200+) versus Vampiric Rituals (Necro Blood GM), all wells siphon life… for about 24 a tick.
The game could really use a dedicated healer
No. It doesn’t.
…or is it couldn’t? How do you negate that, anyway?
Current behavior: Upon opening the Trading Post window, it goes to the gem store frontpage, but after a moment of showing the last open screen.
Desired behavior: Keep the last open screen. Yes, I get it that you want me to see what’s new and for sale and to make impulse purchases, but having to refind whatever I was looking for gets old really fast.
Fun fact:
Some of us purposefully choose less populous servers so that Queensdale isn’t full.
Funny that.
Oh yeah, I shall vigorously swing my fist at you, making cutting noises while a swoosh FX appears two feet away from my hand! Yeah! Behold, I shall now stab you WITH MY FIST!
Congratulations on spamming up this forum with threads that are not, in fact, suggestions, and managing to not even include the server on which this event is broken.
/slow clap
Very important suggestion, needs to be added to the game.

How NOT to make and title a suggestion thread, lesson one.
Cracked Armor is pretty much functionally the same as Vulnerability, especially the old (stronger, but harder to understand) version.
Deep Wound… maybe. I’d rather have the oldest stack “burst” and deal half of its full damage instantly .
“Oh wow, this event is so fun, I want to do it again!” suddenly, 20 strong goon kill squad camping the area
“Hey guys, rich platinium node next to no wait, PKers”
Right now, you can only transmute items of the same time… but what if for those who try, you could also make your weapons look a bit different?
Not any to any, of course… but, say…
Rifles onto Harpoon guns and Spears (bayonets!)
Rifles onto Hammers (hit ‘em with the stock) and once they’re out, Greataxes/Polearms (again, bayonets)
Torches onto Maces (dual-wield torches!) and Scepters
Scepters onto Maces (because sometimes you just want to smack somebody – also, so those guardians can look like they use the same weapon)
Stuff like that, you dig?
Perhaps because the key was hit by accident. Perhaps because I intend to use it as soon as I finish moving. Perhaps to check something in it.
Opening the party menu instantly steals keyboard focus to the “invite player” window, immobilizing you and/or filling it with gibberish if you happen to be moving in some direction. Please make it stop.
In a few Charr areas you can manipulate sniper rifles, stationary long-ranged high damage weapons.
I’d like to see them introduced in WvW, as something bridging the gap between a Ballista and the lack thereof, a cheaper (10-15 supply?) long ranged single-target anti-material and anti-personnel cannon, perfect for building on castle walls.
Because theirs comes at the third tier of skills.
This suggestion consists of two separate but related ones:
First: Give us the ability to select and copy text from the chatbox like most other text-processing or displaying places.
Second: Give us /chatsave [parameter], which will copy to clipboard either the currently open tab, the designated channel (/chatsave /say) or window (/chatsave main).
Why? RP log saving, sharing amusing dialogue without retyping it, reporting spam.
Nope. Pure black looks pretty much crap because you can’t shade it at all.
Just bandage yourself up. Unless you have, like, maxed bleed stacks on you, it won’t finish you off. The worst that’ll hapkitten you lose sigil stacks.
Ugh, please no. That led to so many balancing problems and muddled character concepts. I much prefer the simplicity of GW2’s system.
Thief is supposed to be the “no cooldowns” profession, right?
Then why can’t I repeatedly pounce targets with Infiltrator’s Strike, and have to either wait fifteen seconds for it to cycle, or waste 67% of its init cost to tp back, usually out of range of the next target while I’m at it?
Proposed solution? Reduce the window of opportunity for Shadow Return from 15s to 5s. Maybe reduce its init cost to 1 to compensate.
Improve the way Life/Bloodlust/Accuracy/Corruption stacks

Will use Bloodlust to demonstrate.
Current behavior:
When you kill a mob with a weapon of Bloodlust, perform check. If you have 25 stacks of Bloodlust, or you have any stacks of Life, Corruption or Accuracy, do nothing. Otherwise, add a stack of Bloodlust.
Proposed behavior:
When you kill a mob with a weapon of Bloodlust, perform check. If you have less than 25 stacks of Bloodlust, add one stack of Bloodlust. Then, remove one stack each of Life, Corruption and Accuracy.
Reason for improvement:
Having one stack of Corruption by accident won’t stop you from gaining stacks of Bloodlust until next down. Allow builds that, for example, build either Bloodlust or Corruption depending on which weapon is held (like a Necromancer with an Axe of Bloodlust and a Scepter of Corruption)
Hah, nice one.
Let me counter with this one, overheard at a construction site in Lion’s Arch, a charr to a sylvari while both are hammering some planks, paraphrased.
“Friend of yours?”
Let me take a leaf out of City of Heroes’ book with Ouroboros, and also GW1: EotN’s scrying pool.
It’d be nice to have the ability (either in the UI or through some scrying-pool like NPC/device) to pick any mission from your Personal Story and replay it for generic rewards (say, an event of the mission level’s worth). Just for the fun of meeting Tybald or Lord Faren again.
Probably a fair bit of work to implement, and not at all terribly important, but still would be a neat feature to have.

…let me organize my thoughts into points.
A: I doubt this will ever happen.
B: I would like to see this happen.
C: The concept side of this is hilarious to consider. “Oh, we think in two and a half hundred years some bloke of a completely different race that may not even yet exist will beat up some other blokes. We think that bloke’s related to you, somehow, so here, have some keys.”
D: …I really want this to happen.
Should be “Fall back!” Sounds more like an orderly retreat than a rout.
“I don’t believe in gods. I don’t believe in mosquitoes either, I just know they exist and deal with the fact. The same principle applies.”
On my condition-heavy Warrior, this thing is quite the beauty. The burns deal considerable damage, number 5 is my AoE of choice, number 2 is lovely CC, even against Defiant foes, since it lands multiple knockbacks. I don’t leave home without it, even over the powerful Signet.
Khasar Emberveil of Ash Legion
“IRL” I could go to their house and beat the kitten out of whoever kitten with my money, tyvm
That’d be Assault.
Ohnoes.
Does that mean every class invents the Ghostbore?
Only if you’re Iron Legion.
