Personally I would love to have you guys on DB, I liked playing with you guys on Kaineng and we could use some help especially during the week with our NA coverage here.
Just make sure wherever you go is stable, Contrary to belief DB is not a huge bandwagon. A lot of guilds have been here a long time and we are just adding to them, Not trying to take over the world.
It’s funny….TC, FA, BG etc… have ALL gotten tons of transfers to help them be where they are and only DB is considered a “bandwagon”….Keep trolling.
FA or JQ. FA is unlike any other server I’ve been on (JQ [way back when], SoS, YB). People here like to have fun and we’re pretty laid back. That, and we’re a pretty stable server in terms of ranking and population overall.
Obviously I’m going to say go FA, but the choice is yours. FA or JQ would both be good choices (but I hate Tier 1, so go FA pls).
Yup, because DB ticking at 545+ means both TC and FA have literally collapsed in on themselves, bending time and space and defying all that is known in physics.
To keep it short…nobody paid for TVB transfers but TVB members. We chose FA, we did not coordinate with FA, and were not bought by FA. We picked FA because there are friends and family on the server and we wanted a stable server, not another bandwagon server that will implode in two months.

I’ve been on Fort Aspenwood for around two months now and love everything about it. The best part is the laid-back attitude most of us embrace, although there are guilds here that are a bit more hardcore. We’re all about having fun and for the first time in a long time after switching to many different servers (JQ, SoS, YB, etc), Fort Aspenwood has been the most enjoyable and comfortable for me and my guild so far.
If I had to sum it up: WvW doesn’t feel like a chore/obligation. You do what you want, when you want.
Give it a try! I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Shatter is dodgeable of you practice. Instead, nerf phantasm mesmers. Theif damage is so loose it is impossible to dodge and the damage is much too high. Mindwrack is the most balenced methode of dealing damage.
It would be balanced if instead of smart selfdestructing projectiles that chase you, the clones acted on the last known position when pressing the shatter button (like dragon tooth, comet etc.)
7k damage on smart projectiles is not balanced in a game where your abilities and actions can be disabled for over 3 seconds by that same class.
Nothing about shatter clones screams smart in my opinion. They’re pretty well televised when they’re about to shatter and the running animation couldn’t be more obvious. That, and the fact that they can’t shatter while running makes it pretty easy to avoid.
Let me think about this. Pre-nerf, Mug would hit for an insane amount of damage and was completely unavoidable unless you were very lucky. As it stands, shatters are also very easy to avoid if you simply dodge-roll — a novel concept, I know. Unlike Mug, it doesn’t take pure luck to avoid 90-100% of the burst damage. Nerfing mind wrack will literally force everyone into phantasm builds.
Mesmers’ abilities can be avoided if you know how to dodge and what to look for. Mug was basically a free 7-8k crit on zerker builds.

Old and new dragonbrand guilds are having a blast and only people inter server would know whats going on.
When Reckless Bravery [rB] came to DB we had 12 members at about 64 now. We learned a ton from DB/Magummy/Yakslap.

Does your guild know that you troll the forums like this and basically give people a bad impression of your guild? You seem pretty hurt. Instead of judging an entire server, like you have in your previous posts, why don’t you just continue doing what you “do” and go wipe some enemies on the field.
Er, if you scroll back through, you will notice that I’m not calling anyone out – just simply stating that it really is too soon for y’all to start bragging about how awesomesauce that you are and how FA/TC are a bunch of ‘losers’, or ‘not coming out to play’ or the multitude of other passive aggressive slams that have been posted here. Or that just because we don’t focus our time and attention on the scoreboard that we’re all failsauce… it’s getting old already.
I can assure you that just a couple posters on this forum do not represent an entire server. I enjoy fighting TC and FA both, and have had great fights with FA in particular.
Agreed. There’s really no reason to think poorly of any server because of a few forum warriors. I’ve been having a blast this match-up with DB around. It’s been refreshing, to say the least.
Ok so last night im in EB, we have a zerg running around and I got caught up in a skirmish and got left, i was at the vista point up top just watching for a second and a charr warrior (TC i think, had twilight) whom i fought with earlier saw me and came up to fight me.
Well.. I dont know who you were, but that was one hell of an epic battle, felt like eternity i think it didnt stop for a good 5 mins just 1v1. In the end I got the upper hand even though it was lagging and barely won the fight, but mad props whoever you were, gave me a run for my money!
So he hit you with Twilight, but it felt like Eternity? Maybe next duel should be after sunrise. rimshot
And apparently no one has seen the Necro glitch with Roots, where Scepter/Staff Necromancers seemingly have to manually target the Root and autoattack it. By the time the Necro can get out of the root, he’s already dead.
This is by far the most annoying thing I encounter as a necro when facing rangers.
The skill is fine. Certain players have difficulty with the mesmer and look for excuses as to why they can’t win. I can’t count the times I’ve hit blurred frenzy too early only to have an opponent walk into it. :facepalm: These are the players who want skills nerfed.
The fact is that a sword mesmer can’t survive long in melee without it. Melee classes have too many gap closers, immobilizations, and stuns. Plus, they can put out too much damage in melee range. Without blurred frenzy, the mesmer’s mainhand sword would become useless because it would never want to be in melee range. First, it wouldn’t have any defense to survive there. Second, it wouldn’t deal any damage to make risking melee worthwhile. If blurred frenzy is nerfed, then every classes melee attacks should be at the same level of the mesmer’s autoattack. Any other argument would be incredulous.
Finally, other classes are not defenseless against it. While comparing blurred frenzy to 100B is a bit ridiculous because blurred frenzy does no where near as much damage, the same counters exist. The initial casting of iLeap is an obvious tell. If you miss that, then you have a second chance to avoid it by keeping your distance from the clone for 5 seconds (or kill it in one hit and then dodge roll away or vice versa). Finally, if you are immobilized, you can you whatever skills you use to get out of every other class’ immobilization. This is all assuming that the skill even worked, which about 50% of the time it doesn’t. So it is not fair to say that the mesmer’s iLeap+blurred frenzy is uncounterable. You have at least three options to avoid it. And if you can’t, it is not as devastating as 100B or getting insta-gibbed by an invisible thief.
This pretty much hits the nail on the head. While blurred frenzy is powerful, it’s also one of the only melee skills mesmers have that’s worthwhile (and also ridiculously easy to avoid/counter — look for a leap, dodge; or if you see “Invulnerable!” while you’re attacking that’s usually a big clue). Moreover, Illusionary Leap is quite possibly one of the buggiest gap closers in the game given that even the slightest alteration in terrain from point A to point B will prevent the leap from reaching its target.
It does not need a nerf. If anything, people should learn how to predict it and counter it (dodge, wait two seconds and continue attacking).
People saying Swap is easy to detect are underestimating how disorienting it can be to deal with multiple illusions. The Swap flash in particular is very similar to shatter. Good players will still generally see it, but calling it as obvious as Bull’s Charge is far-fetched.
It may not be as obvious, but that hardly warrants a nerf (not implying you meant that, but just in general).
Far from unbeatable. Difficult to kill? Yes, but so are BM rangers and plenty of other builds. Biggest thing that usually stops me as a phantasm mesmer is blinds/interrupts when I start spawning them. If you can catch the mesmer trying to spawn them, you’ll have a good window to burst them down or unload conditions. I fought one thief, for example, who would blind me as he saw me spawn them and, when I did manage to spawn a duelist, dropped black powder on it and proceeded to burst me down.
It’s not impossible to beat people. This is just one of many examples.

I’d bet $100 that both the guardian and the necro had no idea how to fight you.
It’s a learn to play issue on their part. Mesmers are far from overpowered, but they are one of the ultimate noob stompers who allow very little room for mistakes on the opponent’s part.
Almost any class coming from warrior will feel OP. Trust me — I used to main warrior before I rolled a mesmer.

So, if FA could stop camping things such as the skritt and centaur areas, preventing others from getting POI and skill points, that would be great. It’s a shame that they called in more people to take out 2 uplevels and a level 80 who were trying to get the areas cleared for map completion. We didn’t attack you, you attacked us. In fact, you chased us. It’s people like you who give the server a bad reputation.

More like, people going for map completion and didn’t attack because we wanted the POI and the skill point, not to fight. Majority of the server I’m on, we don’t do that because we understand people are going for the items in there, not for a brawl of campers.

You aren’t going to get people to agree with you with the attitude you started with. They can’t camp it forever. I’ve seen TC camp those places and more frequently camp the JP too. Nobody said that gives your server a bad name…it’s part of the game. Every server does it, find a way around it. No need to come here and make a pointless argument that has come up countless times that have only ended badly.

I’ve seen everyone, all servers that I’ve ever played on or against, camp the jumping puzzle. Those are the cases where “They started it” takes place and the fight just goes on and on and on. I’m sure my own server does it but personally, I’ve never seen a call out to map chat or team chat to gather more forces to camp an area such as the skritt or centaur. In the end, its a low move for the campers and it reads poorly to the other server, no matter what.
I don’t see how PvP’ing in a PvP zone reflects poorly on a server as a whole. Last I checked, there’s no sign saying “Pacifists Only Here Yonder” when entering jumping puzzles, Skritt areas, etc. As for my server (and I’m sure others), I’ve never once heard someone call out to help camp these areas.
You learned the hard way. The question is what did you learn?
To bring friends with you to these areas who can help take down enemies, stealth you, or otherwise help you survive.
There really is no point in discussing this further.
One of us was a mesmer and unfortunately, the opposing forces had a counter ready for it. I’m sorry if I don’t see a need to rally forces just to complete something like that.

I doubt you have anything ‘pro’ to offer honestly. Thanks but no thanks. Not everyone wants to WvW but want the map completion. Yet again, I’m guessing respect is not something to give nor receive. I’ll remember that next time.
You’re right. I get owned in these areas all the time and never learn from my mistakes. So rude of me to try and help others avoid the same fate.

That is one hell of a route for scouting intel my dear friend. To go in there, stare at the group in there, don’t engage in combat while the other team attacks. None of us attacked even after being attacked. All we did was walk backwards and run away because we weren’t looking for a fight. I’ll repeat what I said earlier, only differently this time. Next time I see a small amount of people, whether they are looking for a fight or not, I’ll make sure to attack because guess what, it’s WvW and everyone is up for grabs. I’ll also ensure that you don’t return if need be. Fair enough? Side note: we returned numerous times, still not engaging combat, all in a row. Pretty sure that translates to anyone: they are not here for a fight. Maybe I’m just too considerate and think that others want the same things I do.
That’s what most of us expect 99.9% of the time in WvW. Sounds like you don’t play enough of it honestly — I thought this was common knowledge by now?
Just a pro-tip moving forward: don’t expect anything from your enemies in a PvP zone. They shouldn’t expect anything from you either.
I’m off for tonight, but I wanted to say it was loads of fun sparring with DB tonight in their borderlands outside hills and around lowlands/lake. Some of the best fights I’ve been a part of. TC was on the map for a bit, but then they sort of vanished… Was really hoping for some more push-back from TC tonight in DB’s borderlands. Oh well, there’s always tomorrow.
Never really noticed a problem before… or when I did it was isolated incidents. Played a few games this afternoon (tpvp) and kept seeing insults flying around coupled with refusals to play if they saw it was a guild group. Figured I’d screenshot a few:
I don’t do a whole lot of tpvp, though I try to get a few games in a day, so maybe I’ve just avoided the attitudes previously. It was just a little disconcerting to have 4 separate incidents in a 2 hour period (6-8 games in that time). Is anyone else seeing a rise in people being kittens? I don’t want this turning into LoL
I can also attest to how badly some players can react. I was dueling a guardian and a treb shot came from our base and one-shot him. He became very upset.
Only thing I hate about the sword is the #2/Shadowstep bug where you can literally port 4000+ meter back to your original position. It’s pretty ridiculous.
Other than that, I haven’t really encountered many thieves who pose a threat worthy of being called OP, but time will tell. :P
So I’m not sure if it’s just my luck that I somehow happen to have the only bugged T3 Light Asura armor or if there are others with this issue. The reason I’m wondering is because based on these screenshots:
The first has separate shoulders (which don’t work for me) and the second somehow has the shoulders not showing on the armor (I thought the shoulders/coat were fused?).
Can anyone tell me what’s up? My screenshots below show some of the problems I’ve been running into with T3 (which are highly annoying for such expensive armor).
I wouldn’t go full glass unless you’re very good with mesmers (and not too many people are). I get similar stats using a setup that’s a bit more hardened. Invest in some knight’s gear.
