Agreed. My guild came from SOS before its downfall and moved to FA. There are points where I sometimes miss SOS and the good times we had.

TC actually saying that they won this Tier for their “skills” and not their “numbers” is like saying USA got Japan out of WWII for their better tactics and not because they dropped nuclear bombs on 2 Japanese cities.
TC is a HUGE ZERGBALL that used to blame their losses on the culling, now that that is out of the way they say that when they lose is cuz of the enemy having higher numbers.
Once you guys hit T1, what excuse will you come up with to justify you showing up on your enemies’ screen as loot bags instead of actual competiton?

I have to be honest. FA has had some very bad tactics in some of the skirmishes that I’ve seen as of late.
That’s because you tend to run away before the battle even begins.
Eh, I am not getting in a flame war with you. I am just saying that I’ve seen some horrible tactics in basic stuff like siege placement, getting flanked, getting portal bombed, keep/tower defense.
The only thing I can really say that FA has done well in the last two weeks is Garrison defense. You guys defend the hell out of your garrison.
That may be the case, but then again this week has been sort of an off week for us.

Like I said before, no one is preventing any of you from doing something similar for any number of other causes or charities, but please don’t come into this thread and try to ruin something that aims to help others in a time of need – it shows a lack of true character and understanding.
Again, no one is stopping you from doing something similar and creating your own drive for donations/charities.

No skill in the game should be unblockable. It was not a nerf but a fix. Deal with it.
Every Necro plays with staff and always takes 10 points in Death Magic for Greater Marks – increase area of marks and marks become unblockable.
“Fix” that and there won’t be any Necromancers left in the Mists.

mesmer is not OP, if you ask me it has lots of UP skills, mantras being the major sucky utility skills.
the trick about mesmers (especially in sPvP) is knowing how to distinguish between the mesmer and it’s clones, once you’ve figured that you basically have just another caster on your hands.
Clones are a good defense, which most people don’t recognize. You really don’t want to know, how many projectiles and AoE (hint, AoE limit is 5) ticks these absorb just because they are there.
It doesn’t matter if you know who is the right mesmer.
Take a pistol thief for example. If there are 3 clones around the mesmer, it doesn’t really matter if he knows who the mesmer is. Chances are, he is going to hit a clone, although he is targeting the mesmer.
This is stuff which get ignored almost all the time, as it is far easier to say ‘Oh you just have to learn to distinguish the mesmer from his clones.’
Sorry. Any thief that hits clones instead of the real mesmer is terrible. This hasn’t been ignored — Most just realize that if you can’t hit the real mesmer than you shouldn’t be fighting a mesmer.
They are not overpowered. People just don’t know how to fight them properly. Plenty do however, including a D/P thief I played earlier who NEVER lost target on me when I was using my phantasm build and basically blinded me whenever I went to spawn them. This thief knew exactly how to counter my build and I’m sure there are plenty of thieves out there who don’t hit clones.

There are tons of projectiles.There are also clones, which just run inbetween you are your target (even if you are not attacking the mesmer).
Saying that you can always avoid hitting clones is something I would like to see a proof of.Of course it is far easier to just say L2P without any real substance.
I would btw never play P/P thief in s/tPvP. A ranger would be enough to block all of your projectiles.

Sure, clones act as a sort of defense, but without the signet, they die with a sneeze. The tell-tale signs of the real mesmer are all too obvious sometimes and if you can’t pick them out, then you need more practice. Considering how fast clones die, unless they’re running at you, they should drop extremely quickly if they’re blocking the path from pistol to mesmer. There are three solutions to this: (1) if they are running at you, dodge the shatter; (2) if they’re standing still, you can burst through them easy; (3) if you don’t feel like bursting through them FLANK around them and hit the real one.
As for the AoE, that’s actually a good strategy (for example, for a shortbow thief) to destroy shattering clones/phantasms. Once they drop, there’s only so many times a mesmer can dodge before he gets hit by every bit of that AoE.
You make it sound as if you want to stand in one spot the entire fight and unload without anything in your way. Maybe they should nerf shields and wall of reflection too.

Implementing duels is much faster and easier than all the other “priorities”
You dont need to create a map, or a game-mode, or tons of coding… all the assets are already there, just let us right click a player, player hits accept and the fight begins. Please add this feature to both hotm and PVE as well. As many of us enjoy wvwvw fights but hate conquest mode.

@pyro , you havent probably fought trig as p/d as he hasnt been running it for about 2 months now, but hes the best p/d out there by far. Also, I designed this build to crack bunkers and it has never failed me vs. any bunker type build, but I disagree with some of your changes. Honestly, i also don’t really appreciate seeing my build on the front page of the mes forums for a week. However, this build does do great for roaming, I used to play with AoN and it worked great, ive hit up to 10k blurred frenzies in the middle of groups with might stacks.

If he made changes to it, then it’s not your build. I’ve been using a similar trait setup for weeks now. Does that mean he copied my build? No. Does he have a modified version or a similar build? Yes.
You can only do so much with 70 trait points.

Considering how unresponsive the ticket system is, I wouldn’t pay money for support and if they ever did charge, I would give up GW2 without even thinking about it. Money won’t fix the problem.

Its core mechanic messes with a terrible targeting system and that alone gives any player using it an inherent advantage when entering combat, never mind the fact that mesmers have a lot more viable traits/trait combinations/overall build variety than most of the other professions. A good mesmer is a lot better than a bad mesmer, but a bad mesmer with a good build who at least knows the rotation is still more of a threat than they should be, by a long shot.
In reference to the first part about build viability, that does not make a mesmer OP. It simplify exemplifies how well built the traits are for the mesmer. Other professions may be lacking, but to say the mesmer is OP on the basis of it having some of the best builds is just silly. Just to be clear, I’m not implying you said that but rather trying to deter others from thinking that way.
For the second part about rotation, most of GW2 PVP is rotation of skills — nothing more. The bit about them being a threat is purely subjective in the sense that plenty of people can counter mesmers. If you don’t know how to counter a mesmer’s build (or just mesmers in general) then I would suggest learning the tell-tale signs of the real mesmer and the typical rotations they go through. While a simple rotation can help a noob play mesmer, it can just as easily open a door for the opponent with respect to predicting the mesmer’s next move(s). I’d say the only place where mesmers truly feel OP is when the enemy has no idea how to fight them (and this has come up a few times in this thread).
Long story short: Mesmers are not OP, but appear OP to those who don’t know how to fight them, can’t fight them well, or jump in without a competitive build for their profession. Simple as that.

By default I use Blink, and 2 other utils depending on build.
Solo roam phantasm : Decoy, Disenchanter, Mass Invis
Group phantasm: Null field, Arcane thievery, Time Warp
Shattercat: Mirror Images, Arcane thievery, Mass invis
Glamor: Veil, Feedback, Null field, Time warp
Pretty much this, although if you’re Asura Pain Inverter works well in 1v1 scenarios for glamour/condition builds.

Until ANET fixes the issue I strongly encourage everyone to stop grouping up into 70+ size blobs of #1 spammers. Skill lag typically occurs when two big blobs collide on some part of the map. If you reduced the size of your zergs you will in effect reduce the number of times fights will get large enough to trigger skill lag.
That’s like asking an addict to stop looking at pornography.
