Btw guys, has anyone else noticed the change to the damage ?
From 3 different “levels” of damage, there are now 4. I’m not sure which was buffed or nerfed, I think it’s only the 600-900 which is new but I’m not sure. I had made a screenshot of it before the update but it seems like tooltip don’t appear on screenshots :/I thought it was hitting for less last night but I just assumed I was imagining it and maybe it always hit for that much. You’re right though I can usually get around 2000 damage with it and it seemed like the highest number I saw roll off of it was around 1400 I think.
I get anywhere from 1400-2400 at max range, but I run full zerkers.

1. Blurred Frenzy, most OP skill I have ever seen. 2 seconds of invulnerability on a 10 second cooldown, wtf? What other class has 2 seconds of invulnerability on a 10s cooldown? I’m not even considering the extra burst.
2. Ilusionary Leap, while technically not a stun break can basically nullify the effects of immobilize or snare or freeze. On a 12 second cooldown.
Both are hilariously easy to avoid. L2 kitten ue. In a matchup between an equally good mesmer and ele, the ele will win more often than not – by a significant margin I’m betting.

Without a doubt, mesmer and elementalist are by far the most sought after in any group on my server. They both bring a huge amount of utility to the field – the former in the form of portals, confusion bombing, invis, and all out chaos; the latter in the form of great aoe and siege destruction and also protection (swirling winds) for trebs, catapults, etc. Other than these two, necro and guardian are the next most sought after.

Maybe, maybe not, but I also doubt it will get fixed. In any event, a good mesmer will have no problem even if the enemy can target them.

99% of the time I play this game for the PVP (WvW/sPvP/tPvP). Considering how much they’ve been neglected in light of PvE changes, it makes me sad, but I still have high hopes and still enjoy the PvP aspects of GW2.

While this player’s sparring ability is pretty nice, I think it’s interesting the opposing team is absolutely abysmal. Not really a fair fight I guess.

Likely what happened is an enemy revived his teammate using Illusion of Life and that teammate killed you (or multiple enemies did who died).
Just a guess, but Illusion of Life deals no damage itself. Looks like a glitch.

This is why dungeon groups with only warriors are so much more efficient than any other group. Between all their shouts, they can easily reach 25 stacks of might, all their auto attacks (including the mesmers) inflict vulnerability keeping the mob at constant 25% extra damage, and then the obvious time warp.
I think maybe the only reason I think the nerf to our PvE damage/viability is so unfair is because of stuff like this.

Rediculous. I thought it would be nerfed or changed. 6k+ instant range attack for just 10 trait points is crazy. Half the damage, or make it a 30 point trait.

It was beyond fantastic today to jump into WvW with some of my friends and notice culling was practically gone AND that I don’t have to pay for repairs if my server is outmanned on a particular map.

I don’t see how that refutes or contradicts what I said at all? The fact remains that they still considered what essentially was an exploit into their balancing.
Because they only balance classes based on WvW scenarios where bugs are rampant, such as culling.

What a shame. Warrior had one up until this patch.
And that makes it better? We’ve got, what, 6 elite skills to choose from, and only two that are any good? At least the Warrior made up for it in other ways, but it still sucks for them, too. The elites in this game need a serious working over. (oh wait, they’ve been getting a serious working over, what they need is a rewrite)
Never said it was, but you should count your blessings. Warriors have been the underdogs in pvp since beta ended, topped only by engis and necros.

Not enough to break the entire class and every build that relies on stealth spam. It’s not as long as you think.

It’s even more than that. I had a BRILLIANT melee pattern of stealth, daze, auto-chain, repeat, and I could stay at the front line of a fight for extended periods of time provided that I kept the momentum going. In this chain, Revealed would finish at the exact moment I hit C+D to restart the pattern. I felt rewarded for perfect execution. Now that’s out the window and I suppose it’s back to crummy S/P or D/D glass like they seem to want to pigeon-hole us in to. Venoms aren’t even worth mentioning at this point and Traps are total BOLLOCKS, this patch doing absolutely NOTHING to make them viable. But hey, we drop more Caltrops on dodge!
Because being able to repeat a chain without the enemy ever being able to hit or target you sounds fair.

Yes, that one enemy could not hit me, but other enemies could. That was my entire role in the dungeon – to knock the key mobs out of commission and lower the threat to the team. GOD FORBID I try and provide team utility. But of course, 100b + Whirlwind is obviously king of PvE. Why did I even bother pretending to be useful, right?
Well I was referring more to a 1v1 PvP scenario. I can see where it’s a problem in PvE. :\

As a mesmer, I’m happier with the longer duration of revealed. More time for me to target and damage.

Pretty much everyone seemed content with the original “revealed on destealth” proposal, I just cannot wrap my mind around this. It gave a sense of “counterplay” in that if you could hold off the thief via CC or your own mobility, you would have 3 seconds of burst-free, full visibility combat.
Instead, it’s business as usual, with a pathetic one second debuff addition. I am extremely displeased with the changes, not because I feel it is game breaking (it’s not, and it won’t affect me much at all) but because we were clued into something that was almost a universal plus, and just got a bunch of random bogus changes…
Can we get any Dev feedback as to what happened here? Are these changes still in the works, or were they scrapped, or…W T F??
Would also like to know. However, the extra one second and the removal of culling will certainly help.

We didn’t get the talked about nerf to Shatter, however every other profession that has a quickness skill got a time duration increase except Time Warp. I call BS on that, because ours is an elite, and now just how useful will it be with the reduced ability speed from 100% to 50%.
I think it applies to any form of quickness in general. If it’s not applicable to timewarp, then yeah, that’s not right — but I think it does apply.

Mesmers are sick in coordinated team fights.
Seriously, a guardian root on a mesmer spike, and/or a focus pull into time warp aoe with their whole team unloading every piece of aoe meow they got literally makes you implode without an okitten skill and a superb reaction time.
Talk about broken. My poor necro melted along with all of her DS to one of such spikes (pulled right back in after rolling out of TW range, sob), just to be finished off by random ranged damage while trying to escape on 500 hp.
Well aside from necros being relatively buggy as is, they temporal curtain is relatively easy to avoid. Might I ask where your teammates where?

- As you can tell we hold many oceanic guilds but we still have roughly 1-2 maps that can easily fill an organized guild forces up to 60~. With that being said, you will experience no que times during your primetime during the start of SEA coverage.

How is our SEA base guilds?
- Generally we have Val/NOBL working on the same bordermap right after NA nightcrew while EDMW works EBG. We only have 2-3 prominent guilds that start to primetime before our later oceanics (FOO/DC/EXI/OMEN) start to log. We do quite well on 2/4 maps during SEA prime but are in dire need of guilds to fill up the last 2 maps.
- The transition from SEA to Oceanic nightly is very well coordinated across all major commanders and there is always 1-2 maps open que for 50+ players.

How can AFS help?
- As you said your guild specializes in field tactics and number routing, your enemies from SoR/BG are known to jump between maps to pull numbers for point leverage. A guild of that size (20-50),like yourselves, that can specifically target map hopping guilds can do quite a detrimental effect to opposing enemies. Not to mention the mobility in squeezing numbers between all border maps as ques are lowest during that time out of any given day.
- As you can see from the PPT Tracker off millenium, Jade quarry drops considerably druing the Start of SEA prime. By having a guild of your size, AFS will have a major effect no matter what your guild chooses to do on the field. Also, EBG is the only map with a que during the start of SEA primetime!
