It’s a relief to see this. I admit this with trepidation, but I always have this nagging fear that my thousands of hours in play will eventually net me a ban, just for some exploit I didn’t realize was an exploit, or something else. It’s nice to see that it won’t come without warning.
And of course you’re always welcome to discuss the matter in a support ticket if you’re in doubt about something. Rest assured, too, that in the very unlikely event that your account were inaccurately flagged — and again, that’s a very, very rare situation — the team will react as quickly as possible to your ticket.
But I agree with you that having warnings for certain activities is a good thing.
I am sorry that you are having issues! I really believe that this requires a careful, individual investigation by a support agent. So please submit a ticket by clicking “Support” at the top of this page and then clicking the “Submit a request” option. Provide as much information as possible in the web form, which will create a ticket within the support system. If you do not know some of the information requested, leave the field blank. However, there are two drop-down areas that require an answer so be sure to choose from those fields so the ticket is properly submitted. Once you’ve done that, the CS Team should be able to help you.
I am sorry, but the forums is not the place to get these sorts of answers. Please submit a ticket by clicking “Support” at the top of this page and then clicking the “Submit a request” option. Provide as much information as possible in the web form, which will create a ticket within the support system. If you do not know some of the information requested, leave the field blank. However, there are two drop-down areas that require an answer so be sure to choose from those fields so the ticket is properly submitted. Yes, please do contact Support and a team member will do his/her best to help you.
Question:
From an economic point of view, does the fact the Living Story content is now permanent, make your job of balancing material faucets easier?
I would reckon its easier now because you add new sources permanently. During season 1, it seemed to me, whenever you tried to add some more mats to the economy, it just resulted in a small supply spike and once the chapter was over, everything was back to normal. As an example, cloth during the Escape/Battle for LA come to mind, as well as exotic sentinel gear in the same updates.
It’s actually harder. With short term content we can be a lot more liberal with changes because the worst case scenario is minimized. With permanent content a lot more research has to go into the long term stability of markets.
If there is no response that shows forward movement in 3 full days, you may post in the Tickets for Review thread, as mentioned above. Remember the process of examining this could take more than 3 days, but that’s sort a market we set so that we don’t get a lot of review requests for tickets that already are solved.
Thanks, Thorgal. Since you’ve contacted Support I will close this thread, as you requested.
I’ve merged the two threads you created, but you deleted your initial post, so this is probably quite confusing to forum members.
The e-mail that your friend received is the one that we send to the old e-mail address when someone has changed the log-in name (Account Name / E-mail address) to a new one.
This indicates your friend’s account has been compromised and he needs to submit a ticket by clicking “Support” at the top of this page and then clicking the “Submit a request” option.
I would suggest that you submit a ticket by clicking “Support” at the top of this page and then clicking the “Submit a request” option.
The team will be happy to investigate this and look into what took place with the hopes of being able to return the GW account to your control.
Please see my post [url=https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Security-Suggestions/first#post4351580]above. Substitute “PIN” for “password” and you’ll see why there are drawbacks, i.e., it’s not the perfect solution. That’s not to say it won’t be considered, simply that it’s not the be-all and end-all that some may believe.
Hey Chris! Was wondering what time of the day you’d be starting this glad to hear from you! Cant wait! This phase will be my favorite! I have MANY ideas for this one lol.
Hi Zoso,
Around 2pm PST.
Chris
Hey Chris,
Though I work for a Logistics company and have an understanding for what you may be looking for under QoL and Logistics Management, I would think maybe some of our younger forum contributors and/or people not familiar with corporate speak might need a bit of description to tie in a definition of what you would consider Logistics Management and Quality of Life.
This may keep some submissions more clear and concise.
I will be sure to explain in the first post of the CDI. (-:
Thanks
Chris
The last time I read about this CDI, I heard that GvG implementation is one of the topics.
Any idea how long it’ll take us to get to that topic? Is that one of the first or last topics?
It won’t be the last phase of the main topic and it will be included.
Chris
awesome, thanks Chris!
p.s: can we clone you so we can multithread the process and speedup things noticeably? uh? can we? can we?
I doubt it (-: not this time.
I want to be able to give each phase as much attention as possible sorry.
Chris
No worries I am excited to and sorry for the delay.
chris
Morning All,
The Guild CDI will be starting on Wednesday 10th.
The Topic will be broken up into multiple phases with the first being:
Guild Quality of Life and Logistics Management.
Chris
I’m sure sorry this happened, but don’t worry, the incident is being investigated as a result of your support ticket.
I didnt see it in the screenshot there, but is it also going to be possible to see timestamps in seconds as well as minutes? That would make it all perfect.
Nah, time stamps haven’t changed. Would be an easy update to do later though.
/15 Videos plz.
A full-tab stats screen would be awesome, especially if rolled into match history. We are currently lacking enough stats to fill out a full tab, but once we get other priorities out of the way though, I definitely think we should fill out what stats we track. There have already been some good threads on what people would like to see (basically everything in the new combat log, but cumulative)
Your position on the leaderboards is based off your MMR, which is not a steady or linear way of tracking skill progression. This is why we are still focusing on ladders and seasons as a top priority in order to give players a more predictable way of showing skill progression over time.
Your glicko rating IS however good for matchmaking, as intended. It is used to find equal opponents for you to fight against, and becomes more or less accurate depending on the number of people playing and whether you play with the same five people every game.
The main factor in how stable your rank is depends on your MMR’s volatility, which will lower if you play many equal matches, and rise if you play less unequal matches. This is why you may not rise on the leaderboards if you play often, because your rating is only getting more accurate, not necessarily going up and down.
Nothing in the original post makes any sense.
Thanks for the love and appreciation guys. It’s easy to forget the long path we’ve walked with you since before launch but we’re happy to hear these words. The Guild Wars 2 community has grown over the years but it’s been a great pleasure working with such quality fans. We appreciate the time fans take to communicate on the forums, so a big thank you!
Hi Maxwell,
The big issue for us to add Season 1 to the Story Journal is that Season 1 was not built the same way that Season 2 was. I can’t really share details but this means that we can’t simply retrofit the story steps into the Story Journal and we’re going to need to rework Season 1 into a format that fits the Story Journal. As we’ve said, we really want all players to be able to experience as much of the Living World as possible at one point, but I don’t have more details to give you, including a possible timeline.
Thanks for sharing your perspective!
Thanks for the work on translating, mocking-up, and thoroughly describing a commander GUI, Tiscan.
The only squad-related UI-elements are “hidden” in the “Groups” dialog where most people wouldn’t really expect them.
There’s one more tool commanders have for organizing their squads that I want to be sure people know about. Alt+left-clicking the map to set an attack/defend/rally icon for their squad: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Commander
Do you think these squad directive icons are useful? What issues do you see with them, if any?
After creating a squad, the icon of the button changes to a colored version – so the commander gets a visual feedback he is using his tag. At the same time, a new window appears below the button (Attachemnt
. Its a very minimal display of the squad-stats (number of players, supplies, squad-members by class, how many of them are upscaled).
Your click-to-open UI could provide a lot of information without cluttering up the usual view of the game, which is pretty nice. Though for supply in particular, a more constant display may be worth the visual noise. That seems like it changes rapidly and is always relevant.
One thing i forgot in that dialog is a combobox which allows the commander to switch between “Show stats for squad-members” and “Show stats for all nearby players” (lets face it: most of the time people don’t join squads).
I love the idea of making info available on nearby allied players.
By right-clicking on a name he should be able to kick players from his squad (for example if they are offline, switched maps, etc.). By using the combo-box at the bottom of that dialog he can also decide which players he sees (only those in his squad or all nearby players).
Having some nice way to clean up the squad would definitely be useful. Does it need to be fine-grained to each player? Or would something along the lines of a “Kick offline/afk members.” button serve enough of the same purpose? That might do something like remove players who have been offline or afk for five minutes from the squad, to make room for more players and to clean up the UI.
I’m also interested in learning more about what sets of behaviors commanders go through today. For example, to learn cumbersome parts of the UI. Such as opening the world map to check on objectives… then blindly running off a cliff and dying. Or which parts of the UI, preferably simple and small like you’ve aimed to keep things, are just missing right now.
Mine did, thank you!!
I am so glad to hear that, thanks for the update!
As for anyone else having issues:
I know it’ll be answered when we get it next week but do we still have the same ability as we do now on the sell screen to choose match low sale price rather than high bid price. The “Sell Instantly” button concerns me because I assume this matches the high bid price and the screen shot doesn’t have any items being sold so I don’t see the mechanism for quick switching other than typing it in.
The reason it bothers me because encouraging to sell to highest bidder leaves money on the table that a player could earn. One of the major complaints that players voice is the lack of money in game yet the way the TP defaults, players may unknowingly be throwing money that they could earn away. And if you are making it more difficult to match the low seller price, this gap could widen even further. That’s good news for player merchants (aka flippers) but I don’t like the notion that less savvy players may be stuck with an Idiot Tax or Not Paying Attention Tax.
Sell on new tp defaults to matching lowest seller so we’re actually reducing this risk and encouraging a more true supply competition.
Instant vs Order is entirely price controlled and the warning message / submit button text changes intelligently depending which listing you match or where your proposed price falls inbetween existing listings.

Curtis overall I think the new TP UI will be fantastic. (Actually a little too fantastic: I’d be ok if less people understood how the TP works, that’s less competition on the market heh heh).
That said, I have two questions:
1. The blog post says, “The most obvious change to selling on the new Trading Post is that no longer are your items sorted by their name. Items are now shown in the same order they appear in your inventory.”That kinda worries me because you can also sort your items to sell “by price” at the moment. I find that VERY convenient for grouping all the most valuable items in my inventory right at the beginning of the list. I would be really, really sad if the ability to sort by price has been removed along with “by name”.
You can sort the sell list by the column headers so Qty, Name, Price and Level are all possible sorts for selling. Just the default is bag order.
2. Second question: any chance we are getting a “BACK BUTTON” in the new ui? That would make things sooooooooooo much easier to navigate…
No… but by redesigning how everything connects I believe we’ve removed almost all possible needs for a back button. Sooooo much easier to navigate = yes.
Oh, I have a question:
Suppose the current lowest sell price of an item ia 6g 00s 00c.
In that case, can you use the down button on the copper to reduce the price by one copper (making it 5g 99s 99c), or you have to change all 3 fields?
Yes that will work…. you can also mouse-wheel instead of clicking.
Not specifically what anyone asked for.. but for those wondering about efficiency of clicks.. or just general examples. Check out the points of interest broadcast from today for a real-time demo of the new trading post.

We saw there were four (just four) orders that remained backed up. Those cleared about 20 minutes ago.
Could you kindly check to see if your order has arrived?

Correct. An NCAccount or NCMA will not be of assistance with Guild Wars accounts.
Next level necro: Although there wasn’t a blog post, we did announce the new combat at Gamescom coming in Feature Pack 2. Some details are listed here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/September_2014_Feature_Pack#Combat_log
I figured it’s worth spreading the word since I haven’t seen it listed on any feature pack summary threads.I actually have a question about the combat log that you may or may not be able to answer.
Regarding outgoing condition damage – will it show the actual damage the target takes or will it be based on the potential damage the caster puts out? More specifically, what will the log show if I try to apply three bleed stacks to a target with 24 stacks already? Will it register in the log as me outputting damage equal to three stacks or just show the damage from the one stack I was able to apply?
It should match exactly what the floaters show, so actual damage done.

A lot of people put a lot of work into the new TP and they deserve to get some airtime to talk about their work. I’m no expert on UI by any means.
I am excited about the new buying and selling UI the most. It’s designed to reduce information asymmetry (it’s designed to give all users easy access to more information) and I think it will be really helpful for new players or players that are less studied on prices.
Well since your not spending time on the podcast, you should test the new TP UI by taking say 200g-500g and challenging yourself to make as much profit as possible in a week (use every dirty trick you can think of to squeeze out a profit, your also testing how the market reacts to super secret commerce stuff). Post your results at the end of the week and gloat how you just emptied the market of thick leather sections(which at more than 10k gold would be insane).
This is a funny idea, but I don’t think it would endear me to the general population (or my community team).
you mistakenly perceive a fantastic and functioning system as broken
Might i dare you to post your statement (without anyone involved just saying you believe economic system is fantastic and functioning) in general section or on a CDI?
out of this subforum would gather thousands answers in few hours.
I’m tempted to register to reddit and link that sentence without ANY comment.
My current role on these forums is not to debate on a subject, but to inform you of my thoughts, feelings, process…etc or to answer questions and educate.
Instead of goading, I suggest you write a detailed description of why you feel the way you do and you may PM it to me and I’ll respond.
I don t want to PM because its indeed a matter of public interest.
I said all my frieds left due to economy (grind is tied to economy)And start with reading this:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2fj64j/inflation/
(recent popular topic… i don t even have an acccount on reddit so its not “my perception”, but i think i’ll register to provide some more feedback)I would also argue that a common thing you hear in this game (in the game itself not in the forum) is you win GW2 by playing the TP.
And TP flipping is seen as the only way to get access to BiS items and shinies.
I hope you don t really ignore or don t think a more than noticeable part of GW2 (most veteran non flipping the TP actually) players perceive economy as OK, because it would just mean you are denying the obvious.
Just send a GM (without the anet tag possibly) to discuss economy with any WWW or Dungeon/fractal player with a reasonable amount of achievement points.
Then do the same with new players (not newbies, but someone that has a lvl 80 character and face the problems of gearing up).I could see before 80 everything seems great.
That is the fastest way to see how your economy is really perceived.
That is try to gather feedback outside of a forum where players first purpose is to gather information on economy manipulation.
I’ve read the thread, it’s not actually about inflation, but a misunderstanding of what indicators of inflation are, it’s about precursor prices.
I don’t understand what point you’re making here? You’re saying veteran players are upset about the economy, because you’ve heard that from people. It seems your primary concern is that TP flipping is the only way to make money and that’s upsetting people? We’ve discussed in great depth why that isn’t true.
Short answer – Each mini can only unlock itself in the wardrobe.
Minis being thrown in the forge does not unlock them. Unlike weapons and armor when you unlock a mini you get the whole mini functionality forever.. not just a skin unlock.
So in your example.. Creating Foostivoo does not automatically unlock the other 3.
Unlocking Foostivoo also does not unlock the 3 that made him.
This should mean relative demand for minis stays consistent with the current mini system where having foostivoo doesn’t give you 4 possible summons.

Aethgar and BN — Could I please get your ticket numbers? We want to follow up. Thanks!
Congratulations, pdavis.
I love hearing stories of generosity and other good deeds done by Guild Wars 2 community members.
Personally, I’ve had very few poor experiences with problem players in-game. The majority of my experiences have been positive, and I’ve encountered a lot of helpful people.
Sylvari, Errant Venture, and others who also help run the site: let me know if there are any significant updates that would be interest to the broader community (like a lot of new builds added), because we can plug it again in the future so that more interest is generated and I hope more contributors start pitching in.
Just a question here because I am curious. The idea of the Living World is that there is a storyline that you take part in, that you are involved in events that shape Tyria in permanent ways—how would you all convey the sense of progression and change without also making changes to the landscape? I see a couple of comments regarding creating things, not simply destroying. Do you all have any other ideas?
I’m not thrilled with all the huge icons as it’s taking up valuable real estate for actual items. Having each page reduced from 10 to 7 seems wasteful.
There are no longer pages, it’s a smooth scroll … which is much faster for browsing beyond page 1. You really don’t much notice the # displayed per page when using it.
As someone who spends a lot of time using the TP what irks me the most atm is when looking at the times I’m buying , if i click on an individual item to see the other buy orders, there is no way back to return to my list of buy orders other than clicking any other tab in tp then -> transaction tab ->buying , by then I have forgotten what I was going to look at.
If this is fixed I would be happy , very happy
This is fixed… you may begin being very happy.
Why can’t we see the buy price in the search results screen?
We show sell prices because that is what the item is actually available for. We biased towards simple to understand to go to the next step. The search is meant to be item focused and not margin driven. When looking at an individual item you get the bigger picture market data.
Also, this wasn’t covered in the article but please please please tell me the default buy price is not the vendor price any more. …snip…. Fingers crossed for an easy way to issue buy orders without typing the full price every single time – ie, defaulting to the highest current buy order or even better, highest+1c.
That’s probably too much to ask
Default buy price is the lowest currently available seller. If none available, then highest current buy order. You can match any current buyer by clicking their order price. No typing required.
The fix should roll out with the feature pack.
Drow: welcome to the game! Hope you’re finding things less confusing after you found your clothes.
You would be best served by going back to BEST BUY and throwing the appropriate level of “tantrum” to obtain a new code. Retail outlets are notorious for “allowing” employees to steal codes like this and it will only be stopped if consumers complain about being taken advantage of (and the employees and or complicit managers are fired).
Keep in mind that Anet has every right to NOT help you (tho they certainly might) as retail theft of a code is the retail store’s responsibility.
Please note that throwing an actual tantrum rarely helps. Be polite but firm and it will go a long way.
Yes. The world would be a better place if everyone would make his or her case fairly, clearly, and with a modicum of courtesy. It costs nothing to express oneself with respect towards another human being, and the results will undoubtedly be as good, and may be better, than the results garnered by throwing a tantrum.
I’ll chime in and say congrats. This is typical of the Guild Wars 2 community as a whole from what I see in my daily rounds: Players taking opportunities when they see them to make someone else’s day.
The gestures are all different sizes, and it’s not about being able to attach a monetary value to the item given or hold it up and say that it meets a certain list of standards. The common thread in all of these is a player seeing that they can offer something nice to another, and taking the opportunity to do so with no hesitation or expectation of reward. It’s a great thing that happens constantly in Tyria. Thanks for sharing yours!
re: GW1 gemstore.. stay on topic please guys.. GW2 Trading Post
Now if we can add a favorite items list for our regular purchases, then the TP would be much more functional.
You might notice on the trading post home screenshot a section called ‘recently viewed’. This in combination with the reworked my transactions list should make regular item repeats much much more accessible.
This is why professional QA is a good thing.
Yep, and that takes time.
As i said.. looking into it.
