Questions of this nature should be addressed in a ticket to Customer Support. But please keep in mind that 24 hours is a very short time, and by the time your ticket is fully reviewed and responded to, the suspension will have ended.

Please note, your account was not “banned,” for that would be a permanent termination of your account. Instead, it was given a brief “time out” which generally is issued as a warning, so that the player can consider his/her recent activities and choose more wisely in the future.

Joan — you appear to have a history of precisely two forum posts in this forum. And it appears you didn’t read the Forum Code of Conduct when enabling your forum account.

If your friend has a problem, your friend needs to contact Support, which I believe he or she has done. If your friend has an issue with the outcome of his ticket, he or she may update the ticket to request further assistance. If the ticket requires review, he or she may post in the Tickets for Review thread, and only in that thread. If your friend is not able to post, you may post a single request for assistance (without accusatory language or veiled insults, please) but you must include the ticket number. There is no reason to include a list of what your friend said happened; a simple request is just fine.

Just being able to filter based on items usable by the current character is a huge improvement. Thank you!

I don’t see why removing the ‘under vendor price’ items would cause any risk to the market – simply kick them back to the person who put in the order!

If simply kicking them back was something simply done I’d agree. The sheer quantity of orders to process posses some risk.. and one wrong bit of processing might require a TP roll-back.. which would be … scary.

Here’s another question that’s always bugged me… will we be able to specifically filter for back items now? (an item for which there was never any kind of filter to begin with)

Yes, back items and accessories are both select-able sub-categories of armor now.

Now I need a calculator to actually see how much money I will get in my hand when selling items?
This specific feature doesn’t sound like an update, more like a downdate. Other things with the Trading Post update are actually updates

You always had to calculate it. Before this update the 10% tax that is taken when the item actually sell wasn’t showing. It just displayed the listing fee which is 5%
Now it show both but doesn’t do the total.

Haishao almost has it right.

Old Trading Post (OTP) ‘projected profit’ didn’t include the listing fee either.
If i list something for 1 gold.. OTP showed me a partial total including only one of the fees called ‘projected profit’ 90 silver and still separated the Listing fee 5 silver.. The Net Total would still be 85 which wasn’t shown.

New Trading Post (NTP) we now show you a total (qty times price) and both fees separated out.

I totally understand the desire for a true net display. It is something we did discuss and will continue to talk about as an addition I’m sure.

Thanks for clarifications.
I hope we’ll see the “Sell maximum” button if there’s more than 1 of the item, right? Because the button is absent in the screenshot.

For quantities > 1 “Sell Maximum” has been replaced with a quantity slider so with one click you can set to maximum, or half, or anywhere in between. You’ll also have the same one-click ability in buying which didn’t previously exist.

A bit hard to explain in text..sorry we didn’t get a screenshot of that.

Also, neat extra note.. when selling or buying to a waiting player (instant sell/buy) clicking the existing listing toggles between qty 1 and qty max.

A couple of questions…..

1 – When I search for dyes, can I filter out the ones already unlocked on my account?

No, you’ll still have to mouse-over the list to see each one locked or unlocked.
Same for skins which someone asked about. And minis which is a logical question too.
Locked / Unlocked on my account is not a currently supported filter.

2 – Have you removed all the buy orders below vendor price?

Not at this time. In fact the visibility is actually going to make this worse for a little bit. It’s something we are looking into but it’s easier said than done without risk to the market.

Snip

Thanks for the clarifications Curtis, would it be possible to clarify the missing “Projected profit” UI element, it seems to be missing for no real reason other than to now arbitrarily calculate yourself how much money you make per sale instead of being able to see it directly on the screen.

We felt it was important when selling something to know exactly what price your buyer was going to see. The change also is the least cluttered way to address feedback we received previously about profit including / not including fees and wanting to be as clear as possible on the order of operations.

We’re balancing a lot of UX design against desire for more information with the new UI.. We’ll be watching to see what sort of confusion comes out of this and may or may not re-introduce a net profit display later.

Hey Jadjuka,

In some cases high temperatures may also be due to dust build up inside the system. I would suggest looking at the vents on the system to see if dust has built up on them. If so, then they need cleaned. You can do this by wiping them with a dry microfiber cloth or using canned air to spray the dust away. If the dust build up is contributing to the issue, you should see the temperatures lower a bit as there is more room for the hot air to pass out of the system.

If this did not help, please let us know and I will see what else I can do to help you with this issue.

A few clarifications:

‘Delivery Box’ available anywhere means anywhere in the Trading UI. Not Anywhere in the world (unless you’re using a Trading Post Express summon). If you are at a Black Lion Trader NPC you can now pick up purchases without leaving the filtered buy screen. You can pick up items/funds you cancel without leaving the transactions screen. That sort of thing. You can see an order complete and know what item was delivered while you’re still browsing other categories.

‘Get More Gold’ button simply connects to the existing Currency Exchange. It’s not a new feature, just a more connected UI.

250 is still the max stack size used for a single sale/purchase.

This needs fixing!

A lot of people put a lot of work into the new TP and they deserve to get some airtime to talk about their work. I’m no expert on UI by any means.

I am excited about the new buying and selling UI the most. It’s designed to reduce information asymmetry (it’s designed to give all users easy access to more information) and I think it will be really helpful for new players or players that are less studied on prices.

Thanks for your feedback. Note that putting other players in categories (and ones that could be offensive) does not help get your message through. While players tend to group around topics, it’s what they say that matters.

A lot of players have expressed positive feedback in threads about particular feature announcements. Other threads and posts are more critical of features or aspects of the game, and it’s exactly why we have forums. A lot of developers read posts every day and we often relay some of the high-level feedback to developers.

We respect all opinions as long as they are expressed respectfully and this is a condition for having healthy discussions on the forums.

It’s true we could throw more money at Ready Up to bring up the quality. But we would rather keep those dollars where they belong, in developing the game. Karl would be the first to admit he isn’t the greatest in front of the camera, but he does the Skill Bar because it is something he knows well.

As others have said above, we’d rather have Karl talking about (and showcasing) the changes because, having worked on the changes, he is intimately familiar with them. We prefer this method over hiring somebody who had nothing to do with the changes read them off.

Additionally, Karl and I recorded those segments on a very tight timeframe, sometimes only finishing them the day before or day of the episode they were in, so we didn’t have time for extensive post-production work. We hope to get further ahead of these the next time around, but given that we both have other responsibilities here, there is only so much time to go around.

Darn, I think you’re right, cedo! I had a conversation yesterday with a very nice gentleman who had been tearing his hair out about the whole “Your Display Name is not your Account Name. Your Account Name is your _e-mail address.” He’d been out of his account for quite a while, and fortunately we were able to help. Also fortunately, we’ll soon have — on the log-in screen — “Account Name (E-mail Address” instead of simply “Account Name.” Hoooooraaay!

But I’ll see if we can amend that KB. I agree we need to really highlight that; in fact we were talking about doing so just yesterday. So thanks for the suggestion.

A surprising amount number of players never use food despite how powerful it is. While it is not the items primary purpose, I would like it if it taught people how great food is and more people became eaters.

How about a gift of food/boosts every level? Just a small selection.

That would introduce the topic, and reinforce the idea regularly.

Now, about Badges of Honor please?

Thank you Psientist, I understand what you’re saying about currencies produced by stable workloads but to use your own comparison of Karma and Badges of Honor, at least Karma is consumable and beneficial. It was a busy weekend and we’re making sure everything is ready for 9/9 so thank you for being patient with the delay in responding to this thread. As always this thread is completely hypothetical and nothing in it should be interpreted to say we are or are not working on mentioned features at the present time.

Firstly I’d like to call out ShadowDragoonFTW.3418, wwwes.1398, Lytalm.5673, nagymbear.5280 and a few others who attempted to think up a solution for ‘Smart Pivot’ and being able to figure out what ‘ground’ is. I think it’s awesome that you are trying to solve this problem, but I think that I wasn’t as clear as I could have been in describing the problem. In GW2 and most video games there is a separation between what you see in game and what exists in the physics simulation. I have included a screenshot of what the physics looks like in game. My hope is this will help you understand what is actually going on a little bit more. Essentially when we are doing calculations for the camera in the world we don’t have a concept of ‘objects’ it’s all just ‘collision’. The only thing that we are guaranteed to know is where the player is and where we want the camera to be. From there we have a special tool that is called a raycast to figure out more information of what is going on in the world. A raycast takes a starting point and an ending point and it will tell us if there is any collision between the two points as well as where the raycast collided with the collision is if we hit anything.

Also I really wanted to give the gold star of participation to ConfusedDave.4271, and Makovorn.1706. You two are really on the ball with this and I feel like I should address a bit about current camera functionality that was mentioned a bit between the two of you. As you play GW2 you may notice that when you look ‘straight’ down or up you the camera’s target point is offset a bit. I think you may be on to something with modifying the offset based on a different calculation. Right now it’s linear offset based on angle of the camera. Think something like sin( cameraAngle) * maxOffset.

Hopefully this helps with the discussion of figuring out how to do ‘Smart Pivot’!
Any thoughts on the ‘Pivot Offset’ are also welcome!

@Wanze
I think it got across the wrong way, I’m more interested in the effect the trans charges have on mats coming from armor

I’m not sure I entirely understand what you’re asking. Could you elaborate or rephrase the question so I know I’m answering the right thing?

  • The total amount of armor saved from oblivion would be the amount of transmutations done since the release of the wardrobe but since it is part of the gem store so you probably can’t answer.
  • Concerning the price, one transmutation charge equals one transmutation crystal (lvl 80) or 3 transmutation stones (for lvl 1-79).
In the new wardrobe, all transmutations cost one crystal or would have in the old system. This seems expensive, even more so because equipment changes a lot while leveling.
I was asking if you think this is working as intended or maybe fewer charges have been sold since then.

thank you for answering!

Ah, ok.
The change in the transmutation system would have little impact on the material markets. While the numbers are large, the amount of items that are salvaged every day is enormous.

Since the introduction of transmutation charges, has there been a significant increase in mats coming from lvl 1-79 armor?
How many armors have been saved from oblivion in the past 4 months?

Do you think the price for lower level transmutation is adequate? Considering my problem of out-leveling those skins very quickly and the fact that new players might not want to afford 15g for a complete armor change.

I’m not sure I entirely understand what you’re asking. Could you elaborate or rephrase the question so I know I’m answering the right thing?

I think many people who ask questions in this topic confuse the game economy with the gem store. While the gem exchange certainly plays a big role in the game economy, i dont think the Game Economist has much to dowith items put into the gem store, there is other staff responsible for that. Maybe John can elaborate a bit on that, so i rephrase my point as a question:

As the Game Economist, are you involved in creating new items for the gem store and to what degree? (some feedback on the decision to make the salvage cost of the new silver fed salvage o matic 66% higher than regular master salvage kits either here or in the dedicated thread in this subforum would be appreciated)
Do you give input for pricing of gem store items?
Does your role involve responsibility for gem sales or are you purely responsible for in game gold and other currencies?

I’m unable to comment on my interaction with the gemstore. Even if I were, I would avoid it as I believe it will derail the thread.

A surprising amount of players never use food despite how powerful it is. While it is not the items primary purpose, I would like it if it taught people how great food is and more people became eaters.

It’s also a nagging hassle.

I wouldn’t mind using food more often for its benefits, but I only consistently do in circumstances where I seriously need the edge, for example non-zerg WvW.

A simple UI change could help a lot. When I play, I don’t usually have a good idea of how much time is passing. I shouldn’t, because I should be engaged in something interesting. While I do watch buff/condition icons for game play, over the course of thirty minutes I’m guaranteed to lose track of the fact that the little food buff disappeared at some point. It can be quite a while before I think, “Oh, I need to eat again!”

Giving me some sort of eye-catching “You’re getting hungry” (food buff about to expire) element in the UI would go a long way to make sure I am consistently eating and thereby contributing to food (or ingredient) demand on the market.

Even better would be some way to automate the whole thing. Give me a slot somewhere in the UI where I can drop a stack of each kind of “nourishment” and have the game automatically consume it when each one expires. I’m sure I’ll get some hate for “dumbing down” the game with this suggestion, but I can’t see that having to open the inventory and click a food and an maintenance oil every half hour is really contributing much to raising the skill ceiling of the game.

There are many problems with automation. For example, you’re hanging out in DR with friends and eating 1g/hour worth of high end food and oils because you forgot to take them out of the slot. They aren’t unsolvable, it’s just not straight forward either.

You would be best served by going back to BEST BUY and throwing the appropriate level of “tantrum” to obtain a new code. Retail outlets are notorious for “allowing” employees to steal codes like this and it will only be stopped if consumers complain about being taken advantage of (and the employees and or complicit managers are fired).

Keep in mind that Anet has every right to NOT help you (tho they certainly might) as retail theft of a code is the retail store’s responsibility.

It is likely that you will need to contact the store to obtain the assistance you need. Best Buy is a partner of ours, so we expect them to assist Guild Wars 2 players with issues of this sort. I would speak with a manager, after you have any details that our CS agent supplies you, to get a fresh box.

any chance we can get the full patch notes too?

Sure, those will take a little longer though. I’ll work on getting those up in about a week

What do you think about the mini market in terms of supply and volatility ?

It’s not one of my favorite markets.

I’m so sad right now.

Then which one is it and why ?

Ecto of course! For a myriad of reasons starting with velocity and volume, but also its rippling effects on other markets.

Hi John,
Taken from the feature pack article: Any minis currently in your bank or bank collection tab will still be in your bank when you log in. You’ll need to take them out individually and choose whether to unlock them for your account or dispose of them some other way

What will happen to the pet if you have a pet on the trading post? Will mini still be tradeable to the TP post September feature pack? What does dispose in some other way mean?

Thanks for your time

If that isn’t clear in the blog post try starting a new thread for that question.

Hey everybody, we’ve gone and compiled all of the Skill Bar balance preview segments into one annotated video for your viewing ease. If you haven’t seen them yet, or want to check them out again without digging through previous episodes of Ready Up, here is your chance. Keep an eye out at the beginning of the video for clickable annotations that will take you directly to whatever profession you’d like to view.

Is anyone happy anymore?

pdavis, for what it’s worth, I’ve seen quite a lot of value in this thread over the past day. Reading through, it seems that a number of people are giving the OP’s question consideration and replying with both their own feelings and their thoughts on the general population’s mood and communication.

It’s nice to see so many players having a real discussion about the things that they both like and dislike, and I’m finding it personally helpful.
