I had 100% map completion before this patch. I noticed when I went into Caledon one of the hearts had completely reset. It was the Lv 2 heart to the nw of the Grove entrance where you kill larvae.
Please treat this as a bug and submit an in-game bug report and/or post in the Game Bugs forum.
Hello! I seem to be unable to access the gem store and trading post. Attempting to do so the first time results in a popup behind my game window that reads as follows:
“Unhandled page fault on read access to 0xfbecf0d9 at address 0×0043c759.”If I then close this popup and proceed to open the gem store again, my game crashes completely with a message saying “Timed out while loading page view” or something along those lines.
While this is not exactly a pressing issue, per se, it’s rather inconvenient. Thanks for acknowledging our concerns!
This is a bug that you’re encountering when you try to open the Trading Post. Go ahead and submit a ticket for assistance. You can do so here: https://help.guildwars2.com/anonymous_requests/new . Select Technical Issue from the drop-down menu on the page for this particular situation.
I can’t see my mini-pets, when I activate one all I get is “Miniatures have been hidden due to rising player population”. That’s across all characters in a myriad different locations.
This is a feature that is working as intended. If you have feedback regarding the feature, I would recommend creating or joining in a thread to discuss your thoughts about it.
If you are proud of what your team has done like you said, then you have no reason to worry about the `current environment´ Chris.
Hi Aedelric,
I am concerned about the thread being derailed.
Chris
Derailing of the thread should be handled exactly as it would be in other circumstances.
That said, you should probably reccomend someone start engaging in a discussion with the community on the topic of the day.
Essentially, your CDI as far as i understand it is something for long term projects, things in development/aka brainstorming. You probably need some one, to discuss major current events issues separately. This does not seem like it would be against your communication policy, as the beefs now, are actually current content.
Short version
- keep CDI going with regular moderation of offtopic posts, or ignoring them
- get someone else who is actively engaging the the public, and trying to understand and discuss the current issues on the NPE.
- Someone should be engaging players and trying to see why so many are not liking the changes, and whether anything can or should be done about it. It shouldnt just be an im listening post, it should be a real discussion whereby someone is trying to come to an understanding or gain knowledge.
Good feedback thanks.
Chris
Hi, thanks for bringing this up.
I’ve looked into the down-scaling calculations and identified the bug that is causing this issue. There’s definitely a lot of stats being lost when scaled down that isn’t intended.
So I have two of one mini that I should have only had one of and a mini is missing. Did anyone else lose mini’s or have a glitch like that?
If you believe you are missing minis, I would recommend submitting a ticket to that we can investigate the situation. You can submit a ticket using the following link: https://help.guildwars2.com/anonymous_requests/new . Select In-Game Issue for this particular type of inquiry.
Well, the problem is, I don’t know whether to ask my question here or post it as a bug because I have no idea what the intention was.
I paid money for mini pets.
I expect to be able to show them off like Timmy shows off his sword skin. My mini pets are extensions of how I want the world to see my character, whether they want to see it or not. I don’t particularly like surf board sized swords, but I at least respect that some folks do and want to show them off.
As such, mini pets should follow the same rules for culling that showing a player and their armor and weapons does. I should always see my pet, unless I under water and it can’t swim, and that part might well be a bug. But beyond that, if I have my pet out, and he culling system decides to show me to you with all my proper armor textures and weapons, then at that point, you should see my mini.
So, if this is a bug and it is supposed to work as I described, then I’ll let it go at that. If it is not, and you have no intention of changing it back, and mini pet purchases are now not to be treated as highly valued as a weapon skin purchase, then we need to talk about what your plans are for allowing anyone that is unhappy with this to return every mini pet and pack we bought over the last two years for a full refund.
I bought my minis so I could see them, and everyone else. I expect them to work with the same reliability and rules that a purchased armor, weapon or outfit skin would perform
This would be feedback and not a bug. I would suggest starting a thread in the forums to discuss this particular topic.
I am 52/54 on the original mini’s set 1 collection… is it still possible to finish this collection?
It depends on the minis you’re missing. They might be for sale on the Trading Post. =)
have there been any changes made to targeting (the action of selecting the closest target)? with the new patch foes are being selected behind walls, on other floors or behind my character a lot… :-/
There were changes made to targeting regarding world bosses, but this should not affect targeting outside of world boss encounters (to my knowledge). I would consider this a potential bug and report it in-game and/or in the forums.
Cool I agree. After this meeting I will finish my doc and then lets get on with the CDI.
Chris
P.S: We will stick to the plan and the CDI will be about Guilds.
If you are proud of what your team has done like you said, then you have no reason to worry about the `current environment´ Chris.
Hi Aedelric,
I am concerned about the thread being derailed.
Chris
So the question now is the current environment conducive to starting a CDI or should I wait a few days?
Chris
Chris, you may be proud, but there’s been an uproar lately with the latest changes. You’ve also ignored the many complaints about the last ‘feature pack’.
I know you’re required to say those PR things, but are you honestly proud of the amazing team? These guys haven’t even put out half the content other teams managed to, and that’s having taken into account the many skins from the gemstore.
Yes absolutely I am proud of this team. I am sorry that you don’t agree.
This group of ladies and gentlemen has put out amazing content at an amazing rate.
And no i am not talking any PR I am a developer.
So to be clear, yes i am proud of this team, i am proud of our work, i am proud of how we support each other, i am proud of how much we care for the game and the community. You can twist that statement as much as you like but that is my stance.
Chris
There are definitely bugs and some external miscommunication with the system and I want to listen some more before discussing.
ChrisThis is interesting.
Chris is saying there has been external miscommunication about the new system. Could it be that you guys realize you went too far with the removing of functions and level gating it too extreme, and it was not supposed to dumb down the game quite this much?
Hi Traveller,
No not really. I m referring to some videos etc that aren’t quite factually correct in all areas and thus there are some misconceptions being propagated by those that have not played the through NPE yet.
Chris
But what will the CDI be about? I’m afraid that the changes to the Personal Story won’t be addressed, since talk about it seems to get drowned out by other things. It breaks my heart to think that content from the PS will forever be cut from the game, and that my voice won’t reach ANet’s ears.
Your voice is reaching Arenanet’s ears and the CDI is about Guilds starting with Guild Quality of Life and Logistics Management.
Again I want to make it clear that I am proud of the work ArenaNet does and proud to be part of a team that does listen intently and care. There are definitely bugs and some external miscommunication with the system and I want to listen some more before discussing. Also I am late on this CDI and I want to get started as do others.
I hope that this is something that the community can respect.
Chris
Sweet!!
Looking forward to it.
But I would reccomend maybe as another CDI taking a second look at this new leveling system, and how it effects vets, and what can be done about it would go a very long way in taking care of your loyal players. Just a thought.
We are keenly looking at all the feedback and will continue to do so.
I am focusing on trying to get the CDI out today as I am already late )-:
Chris
Good, good. I’m sure a lot of us would love to hear what the thoughts were behind some of these changes. We hear that you’re listening now, and hopefully that will turn into some discussion back over the next couple of days.
Knowing that your listening is one thing. Knowing that you care enough to enter a discussion back is another. But still, just having someone confirm that you ARE AWARE of the issues is enough for now.
We can definitely have a discussion. Personally I am proud of everything we release and the work this amazing team does. I am also proud of all the valuable work that our community has done on the CDI, so it is only natural to not just listen but also want to discuss.
But like I said my focus at the moment is my internal work and the CDI.
I am in a meeting at the moment and then I have a document to finish and then I will be starting the CDI. Super excited.
Chris
I really want to concentrate on the CDI so I will publish the top ten CDI impact in the next few days. That way I can just concentrate on one thread.
Chris
Hey there. I just made a post about this. Can you please read this forum post?

I think the suggestions will help you round up those pesky minis and get them where they should be.

Your minis do not automatically get moved to the wardrobe. They should be exactly where you left them (either in your inventory, storage, or collectable storage).
That is precisely true. I think the suggestions above, and where to check, make sense, since folks can be forgetful and might not remember the mini’s location or might believe the system was shifting things automatically.
Thanks, EC. I did a small edit on my post to include the info you provided.

I can jump in here quickly. Dekou, thanks for the question. Vayne, Briars, Afya, thanks for the input. It’s valuable, and I want to thank you for contributing constructive criticism and discussion.
The CDI is a great input and communication tool for us, but it’s not the only one. As always, we hear and pay attention to feedback from all over the place, both out of game and in it.
I have a feeling that the minis didn’t disappear but simply are not where you’re looking.
Minis now have a whole new home of their own in your Hero Window, like your weapon skins. Are they there? Are they in an individual character’s inventory/bags? Keep in mind they don’t move on their own, so you’ll want to check around.
Here’s a suggestion: Check each and every character (because the char may have been displaying the mini), each and every bag/briefcase/bookshelf/storage device
, and then each and every tab of your Bank, particularly the Collectibles tab. Minis you had previously stored in Collectibles are still there and need to be taken out before they can be account bound in the Mini Collection window.
Consider, too, if you may have deleted a character that had a mini in inventory. Those minis, just like any other items on a character, do go away upon deletion.

Chris, what happened with the update on the Mac client? There was no update.
Also, the Mac client has some issues since the patch and there is no support in the Mac support forum.
Hi Ananda,
I have asked for this and I expect there will be a post soon.
Sorry for the delay.

Hi All,
For those wondering where the CDI is I posted this a few days ago. Apologize to those who missed it. I am aiming to get it started this afternoon along with the top ten of how CDI has impacted the game:

Just popping in here to say we are continuing to pay attention and reading as much feedback as time allows. This thread in particular lists several pros / cons with good comparison to old and usage examples.
The primary pain as Ensign mentioned is the power users. Partially because power users are the most ingrained with how / where information was given before and what the most efficient sequence of clicks was. That will partially fix itself as there are many new conveniences to get used to and some non-obvious shortcuts that power users will figure out over time just as you did with OTP.
For example – many people list the new ‘sell confirmation’ as annoying and too much extra clicking. OTP had the same thing but for power users, there is no need to wait for the confirmation. You can click off the order dialog just as you did in old TP as soon as you hit sell..
Partially the power users pain comes from exceeding some of the display limits added to make everything more responsive. While responsiveness is hugely important for general usage we are aware some players have ‘hidden’ orders they can’t manage.. and that’s not good.
There are some bugs with new TP that will get fixed and we’ll definitely be discussing other changes brought up. So please continue to give constructive feedback especially valuable when you explain how you would use something instead of how to fix it. (eg: I wish I knew if i’m undercutting myself, vs match my lowest needs to be a button.)
Thanks Guys and Gals
Thanks for the reports, everyone. We’ll get this sorted out ASAP. Until then, if you need a workaround, updating your Playback Devices at the OS level will update the Audio Device options. Enabling/Disabling a device or swapping Default Devices, etc.
And for your issue with the G35, TwoPiArrrr, I’ll look into that today as well. I think we have one of those around here somewhere.
From the update notes:
Chapter 7 is now focused on helping Trahearne cleanse Orr.
Chapter 8 is now focused on defeating Zhaitan.
The story steps that were in Ch8 that involved helping Trahearne with his wyld hunt have been moved to Ch7.
One comparison might be a half hour TV show that comes on every week, versus a DVD boxed set of an entire season that comes out every 6 months or so. Previously the story steps were set up so each one was about 3 levels apart, which meant that a single storyline had a lot of breaks in between steps (if you wanted to do each step at the level it specified.) Now there’s a bigger gap between storylines, but each storyline is playable without level breaks.
Thanks for the report. We’re investigating this now.
Thanks for the report! We’ve identified the issue and are working on a fix.
Just a quick update, some of our devs have started contacting guild leaders to work out details and make sure that play times will work for everyone.
Thank you guys so much for the warm welcomes and the overwhelming response! We’ve had so many invites from guilds that it’s been a struggle to keep my inbox from filling up
Thanks Again!
John
No, you don’t have to repeat any story steps.
What level is your character? “Stealing Secrets” is part of the L40 storyline, so it might not be available yet.
This happens from time to time.
What happens is someone hacks an account and then uses it for bad stuff (advertising gold sales, hacking more accounts, etc.) When the real owner regains access, the account may still have been flagged for closure.
No problem! We are familiar with this issue and the team can fix it after they’ve verified a few things with your girlfriend.

Every 10 levels a new storyline is unlocked. Previously the story steps would look like:
L3, L5, L7, L9,L10 for a storyline.
Now they’re:
L10, L10, L10, L10, L10.
They end at the same level, but now require you to be L10 to do the entire storyline. Previously, a lot of players found it very frustrating to have to interrupt the story steps to level up constantly to keep up.
Shroom, no problem! Things change, and it’s hard to keep up with all the improvements and changes.
Glad you found your minis. Of anything I would most hate to lose, that would be it for me.

There is no veteran destroyer. It’s a series of Destroyer Crablings and Crabs.
I am the only one to have lost all my minis?
Where is my mini-mossheart?
You are looking in your Account Vault. Click on Material Storage (the icon above the one you currently have selected) and scroll down to the bottom. Your minis are in there.
From the update notes:
Personal story steps have been more clearly broken up into chapters that unlock every 10 levels so that each chapter can be played through immediately once it’s unlocked.
You might have been on a story step that is now in a chapter that isn’t unlocked yet. It’ll be visible once you reach the correct level.
Don’t forget that it’s a wiki, so players create its content. Feel free to jump in!
This is a great piece SnowHawk, I love the composition! Thanks for sharing.
I’d suggest submitting it to our official Tumblr site (if you haven’t already), please see http://guildwars2.tumblr.com/submit for more information. Thanks!

What’s your current objective? No content changes were made to that story step, so I’m not sure what’s happening on your end that doesn’t happen to me. I’ve run through that step multiple times now.
The final story chapter unlocks at L80.
It will unlock at L60. No progress has been lost. The L48 step used to be the start of a storyline that ran from L48-L59, but they’re all now part of the L60 chapter unlock, so you don’t have to level up between every step.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed various server and client crashes.
- Fixed a bug in which Scroll of Knowledge was unusable until level 13.
Hmm, curious. Without knowing what you have tried in troubleshooting thus far, can you try unplugging/replugging the headset when the game is closed? If that does nothing, can you try while it is open?
